It was early morning and Hojo was already wake and preparing his friend's arrival.

 

`How long has it been? A year, no two?' he thought. He received the notice from Koga that InuYasha would be here today. He had to get everyone into full force to prepare his home.

 

Hojo saw Kagome walk into view and he smiled. He felt the luckiest man on the planet to marry such a beauty, a woman with fine grace.

 

Kagome caught his gaze and smiled back. She loved him a lot. He is a good man who cared about others. He is always concerned about her welfare. She appreciated that and she met men that never did what he did.

 

She ran to him with arms wide open. Hojo opened his arms and when she was in them, he whirled her around. She laughed along with her husband.

 

“Ah, how is my cherry blossom on this clear morning? Did you sleep well?” he asked with a sly grin.

 

Kagome slapped his arm softly. “My lord, please! But, to answer your question, I slept fine, very fine.” She giggled.

 

Hojo tugged on her single-braided hair. “Well, do you know that my friend Sir InuYasha will be here later today?”

 

“Yes, of course my lord, I am eager to meet him,” answered Kagome.

 

They started walking, hand in hand, around the palace grounds. They were listening to birds singing and watched small animals run across the territory.

 

All of a sudden, they heard trumpets being sound. They knew that their guest had arrived. Hojo and Kagome started to walk to the front of their home, going to meet Sir InuYasha.

 

Once they were there, Hojo yelled, “Hello my friend! It's been far too long, has it not?”

 

InuYasha smiled and hugged his friend. “Yes, it's been too long. How have you been?”

 

Hojo answered, “I am fine, I am a happy man to marry this young lady.”

 

InuYasha smiled and turned his head to the woman that was next to Hojo. He was in awe at her beauty. Her hair was long and dark ebony. Her eyes were blue and her complexion was like the soft skin of a peach.

 

InuYasha bowed and brought her hand to his lips and kissed it. Kagome blushed.

 

“The rumors were true,” he said.

 

“What rumors, my lord?” asked Kagome.

 

InuYasha chuckled. “I guess you have not heard them. I have heard people that the new queen has beauty like no other and melt men's heart.”

 

Kagome blushed at the compliment, well, what she thought was or is a compliment.

 

“Thank you, my lord,” mumbled Kagome.

 

“Please, call me InuYasha, not, my lord and Sir,” said InuYasha.

 

“Yes…InuYasha,” said Kagome.

 

InuYasha smiled. Hojo smiled. He had a feeling that they would be great friends, just like he is with InuYasha.

 

“Oh, let's go. I bet you are hungry my friend, we have plenty of food,” said Hojo as he led his friend into his home and into the dining room.

 

Kagome stayed behind for a little while.

 

`He is so handsome and seems nice. Wait! I can't feel and think like this; I am married!' she thought as she shook her head to get rid of them.

 

Kagome took the same path as her husband and new friend took.
