I'm so sorry that I haven't updated in so long. My computer was attacked by a viris and I had to send it to the repair shop and that didn't help so we had to get a new one and install everything all over again, so all my saved files were lost. Not to mention school is really holding me down with the quarterly exams coming up. I'll try to update as much as I can. Also, my other story Hold Me Close will not be on it's way for a bit now since I lost all the chapters. Very very very very very very sorry.

Chapter Three- The Grand Tour

At he break of dawn, the hospital was already a bee hive. Much to Rin and Kagome's surprise, the two patients were already awake and sitting up in their beds.

"Early risers, huh?" inquired Rin.

Sessomaru merely gave a tiny raise of his delicate eyebrow but Inuyasha stuck his nose in the air and grunted.

"Keh. We just don't need as much sleep as you weak humans do."

Kagome strode over to Inuyasha's bed and raised her eyebrow. "Oh if that's true then explain why you were out like a light at three in the afternoon yesterday."

Inuyasha huffed, "I was blown off a cliff. I think I deserve a little bit of sleep."

Kagome innocently remarked, "Well you were sleeping for four days after we brought you here you know."

Inuyasha opened his mouth to throw a sharp retort but found that he had nothing to say. Kagome grinned and Rin high-fived her and whispered something into her ear that was apparently funny. They broke out in laughter and Inuyasha eyed her carefully. She has sparkling blue eyes and a head full of rippling black hair. Since her doctors dress ended at her knees, he could tell that she had long shapely legs. To Inuyasha she look very ok but that didn't mean that you could trust them.

" Where is that other girl Sango, "Sessomaru said in a expressionless tone.

In a cheerful voice Rin replied, " A monk Miroku and her are giving out lessons."

A shiny curtain was pulled in between them and their personal nurses began their check-up.

~~~~Rin and Sess~~~

Sessomaru silently watched as Rin checked the little beeping machine for his blood pressure. She whistled and turned to him. " Well everything looks fine. Can you take off your shirt so I remove your bandages?"

Sessomaru pulled the shirt over his head (drool) and Rin checked his arm and shoulder. The skin was smooth and unscarred from the bullets.

Rin leaned back and brushed off her hands with satisfaction. "There is nothing wrong with you Sessy."

Seesomaru blinked. `Sessy?'

~~Kagome and Inuyasha~~

Kagome huffed and looked at Inuyasha. " Inuyasha will you just please take off your shirt. I have to remove your bandages."

Inuyasha glared at her out of the corner of his eye and grunted. "I don't need our help."

Not ready to give up, Kagome sat down on the foot of the bed and took a good look at him (just so everyone knows I don't really like spending a whole lot of time on what they look like….but w/e). Inuyasha was staring out the window his silver hair flowing down his back. The depths of gold seem to hold so many secrets. And those ears…Inuyasha suddenly felt his ears being rubbed gently at the round base. He quickly twitched them away so that he wouldn't lean into the touch..

"Those ears are so cute," Kagome said.

"Wah.." Inuyasha was surprised at this. Humans used his ears as something to hit not something that was cute.

Kagome looked him in the eye and said, "I bet if you smiled more, you'd look much friendlier." Inuyasha gave a sarcastic grumble but Kagome could have sworn she saw a tiny smile quirk his lips. "Now will you pleas take your shirt off?"

The stubborn hanyou have a humph but took off his shirt. Kagome ran her fingers over his pale skin. Suddenly Inuyasha shuddered under her touch and Kagome frowned. `He thinks I'm going to hurt him…' Inuyasha started when he felt arms wrap around his torso. Kagome was hugging him.

"Inuyasha…I don't ever want you to shudder like that anymore. The life that you lived is in the past. No one is ever going to hurt you again." Kagome whispered.

Inuyasha felt strangely comforted by the way Kagome was hugging him.

~flashback~

The six year old Inuyasha huddled up to his mother. Those men in the white suits had hurt him again.

"Mommy, when can we leave this place? I don't like those big men. They hurt me. I don't want them to hurt you."

Inuyasha's mother was a tall regal woman with a soft gentle face and large caring eyes. Those eyes filled with sadness when she heard her son's words. Breathing softly she turned her son around in her lap and wrapped her willow like arms around Inuyasha's stomache. "I don't know when it will get better, Inuyasha but I promise that it will. The hard times are just here so that you will appreciate the happy times when they come." She rested her chin on the top of Inuyasha's head between the ears and closed her eyes, letting a pain filled tear drop unto his hair.

"I may not always be there for you. But I know that one day you will find a place where you will be able to live in peace. I was there once. They are called Hopes. There you can live with the right to live without fearing who you are. Promise me that you will get there someday."

She felt Inuyasha's small head nod up and down.

"I love you…my son"

~End flashback~

Inuyasha jerked out of his thoughts as Kagome withdrew her hug. Out of the corner of his eye he could see her blush and smile. "Will you please take off your shirt now?"

Inuyasha mumbled a reply but took off his shirt. With gentle hands Kagome unwound the faded bandages and when she was finished she leaned back and brushed her hands off. Rin withdrew the curtains and grinned at Kagome.

"Hey, lets get these guys something to wear"

"Oh yeah."

The two girls walked to the door. Looking over her shoulder, Kagome said, "Wait here while we get some cloths and change. Then you get to see the town."

Inuyasha and Sessomaru sat in silence having nothing to talk about. (Sessomaru isn't really the talker is he?) Suddenly Sessomaru spoke.

"Well what do you think about this?"

Inuyasha blinked in surprise. "Well I guess we might as well take the tour."

Once again. ~silence~

With loud footsteps, Kagome and Rin jogged into the room carrying bundles of clothing. Kagome handed Inuyasha a dark green haoru. (It's the same outfit as in the show but a dark green in case you were confused ^_^) Sessomaru received a slightly more elegant outfit. It was a two piece kimono that looked like Inuyasha's except it was off white with dark patterns woven into it.

Kagome and Rin once again went to the door. "Those should fit you. If they do then you can keep them. Once you're done changing come outs. We'll be waiting outside. The you get to see the town."

Inuyasha and Sessomaru put on the clothing and found them very comfortable. They were both thinking the same thing. `This is the first thing that I can call mine.'

As they tried to walk, they both found that their legs were very unstable to the fact that they hadn't been moving in about 6 days. But having a very big ego( and no I don't mean butt) they sauntered out of the room acting as if they weren't swaying like drunk idiots. They found that Rin and Kagome had changed into more casual clothing also. Rin was wearing a blue kimono with small pink flowers on it. Although it appeared to be a ruffled skirt it was really a "skort." There were really pants under there so that if necessary they would be able to move freely. Kagome was in a faded orange kimono/skort (I don't mean bright orange. As I said its faded) with dark blue spots here and there. Although they had much more elegant, expensive and made of silk dresses, they wore these plainer simpler and made of cotton kimonos more often. They wanted to feel like equals to everyone. Also, these were the kind that you would wear when working out in the field.

After a short discussion they decided that Inuyasha and Kagome would go to the north side of town while Rin and Sessomaru would go to the south side. They would met up in about 2 and a half hours at the town square. They agreed and gave instruction to Inuyasha and Sessomaru as if they were little children on a field trip. Then they went their separate ways.

~Rin and Sessomaru~ (I don't like them better, but they always seem to come first…)

As Rin led Sessomaru through the streets, he remained quite but listened to Rin's chattering voice talk about how the Hope was established. The streets became a bit more crowded and little shops began to appear along the streets.

~Flashback~

Sessomaru transformed from his demon body into the humanoid form. He respectfully bowed to his father, Inutashio.

In a deep booming voice the once great dog demon said, "Sessomaru. You are a pure demon. You have no human blood in you. However, I have been breed to a human woman. I believe that she is a kind-hearted woman. I called you here today to tell you that you shall be having a younger sibling. That woman, Lady Shinju (thanks slywolf) shall soon have a pup."

At these words Sessomaru coiled back in anger. "But father! That would mean that I would have a hanyou brother! My blood would be running through the body of that disgusting half breed!"

Inutashio bared his long deadly fangs and snarled, "You shall take care of our brother if anything shall happen to his mother or I!"

Sessomaru felt the fur on his tail flatten, then he bowed once more "I understand father. I shall protect my future sibling should anything happen to you."

~End Flashback~

Sessomaru suddenly felt tugging at the sleeve of his sleeve and looked down to see Rin smiling at him. No body ever smiled at him except for Lady Keoko.

"Hey do you want to get something to eat? The hospital food isn't so great." She pointed at a smell bakery that had a sign saying ~Morning 2 Night Bakery~ "That's the best bakery in the whole world. Want to go try something?"

Not really caring what they did, Sessomaru nodded and was dragged into the bakery by Rin. There were tables and chairs set here and there for the customers to sit and eat on. It was breakfast time so there were many people there. Sessomaru gaze lingered on a family. The father was a tall human man and sitting next to him was a deer demoness in her human form. Sitting in-between the two were two small children. Hanyous. No one else in the café seemed to notice that they were half-breeds or didn't care.

Rin jogged up to him holding a platter of pastries and mini-cakes. Sessomaru's sensitive nose began to swirl from the mixture of sweet and delicious scent. At the HEP they had always eaten bread and water. His nose twitched madly at the enticing smell.

"Come on, let's sit down."

As soon as they sat down Rin handed him a round pastry that had some sort of yellow goo in the middle.

"Try it. It's Lemon Sufle." Rin said between bites of her own pastry.

Staring at the piece of cooked dough as if it would attack him, Sessomaru sank his teeth into the soft treat. Eyes widening to about the size of his fist he let out a very un-Sessomaru like yelp. It was delicious.

Kagome and Inuyasha~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kagome glanced at Inuyasha out of the corner of her eye. She had taken him to the houses and just walked around the blocks talking to him about the history of the Hope trying to get him to say something other than grunt. The whole time all he had done was follow her like a dog (no pun hehe) with a strange look on his face.

He couldn't believe it, As they walked around the houses, he watched as couples and groups of friends walked about. The demons and humans walked together as if they couldn't see the difference that made them different. The barrier that had always followed him from the day that he entered this hate polluted world. Kagome and Inuyasha walked along in a comfortable silence.

Kagome stopped and touched Inuyasha's arm. "Hey let's rest for a little bit." She pointed to a small school playground complete with swings.

They walked over to the swings and sat down, Kagome pushed herself gently back and forth while Inuyasha sat there with his arms crossed. Suddenly there was a loud ringing from the school and kindergarteners swarmed from the building.

A small group of children broke off from the others when they saw Kagome. Tbey knew her and thought of her as an older sister.

"Kagome! You're here!"

"Why were you gone fr so long?"

"Yay, you're back!"

Kagome was attacked by a mob of children that clung to her. Kagome bent down and pulled up a little raccoon demon girl with fluffy gray hair and a tail. "I was away because I had to take care of some new friends, Everyone say hi to Inuyasha."

Inuyasha blinked at the introduction and jumped when they kids turned their attention to him. They all waved and some polite ones even bowed. But one human girl with sun bleached brown hair and shocking emerald eyes walked up to him with a bright smile on her face. Unsure and nervous, Inuyasha stepped backward. The little girl stopped before and had to stare straight up to look hi in the eye,

"Hi Inuyasha."

Inuyasha looked over at Kagome. Still holding the demon child she smiled and mouth, "Go ahead."

Slowly Inuyasha lowered himself to his knees and look at the girl. She saw his ears and giggled. Standing on her tippy-toes she rubbed her fingers up and down the velvety ears. Pretending to be gruff he flicked his ears away and slipped his hand under her arms and stood up, bringing the girl with him.

"I'm Joy. I like your ears." Her eyes widened at some idea and she gasped. "Do you want to be my big brother? I always wanted one."

Inuyasha peered at the eager face, so innocent to the horrors of what she had just said to him. She had no idea what would be done to her in the outside if she said that to a hanyou. A tiny trace of a smile touched Inuyasha's lips, so small and concealed that you couldn't even see it but it was there.

"Weak little humans do need some protection I guess." Inuyasha said.

] The delighted little girl threw her small arms around Inuyasha neck and hugged him.

Inuyasha's eyes locked with Kagome's she smiled a smile filled with happiness.

Inuyasha thought, `Maybe this is my new life. Maybe this is what happiness is.'
