Thanks again to all the reviewers…and to those that aren't reviewing…two words. Please review
Disclaimer-I know I know! I don't own Inuyasha.
Once again I will say that I wont be able to update as often as I want to. But I will try to update this fic once every 2 weeks if I can. And the one week vacation is coming up for my school so I'll try to get something in during that time.. But if I don't please be patient.
By the way, my other fanfic Hold Me Close will have its first chapter up soon. Please enjoy^_^ and review. If you don't I understand, but PLEASE I don't care if u say this sucks or just write the word good.
I'm not sure if I'm going to put to much of Miroku and Sango in this one…sorry. The main couple will be Inu/Kag with a little bit of Sess/Rin.
Inuyasha and Kagome stayed with the children until it was time for them to go back into the school building. Whirling around just before the two large doors, Joy yelled, "Bye-Bye, Oni-chan! (I think that means big brother…am I right?)
Kagome smile and looked at Inuyasha to see his reaction to the new found little sister. Inuyasha was staring at the building with a rather dumb look on his face that said "Uhhhhh" It was like watching a computer that just took in too much at once.
"So what do you think of the place so far? Not so bad huh?" Kagome said.
Inuyasha quickly glanced at her than struck his famous pose. Crossing his arms, he said, "Feh. Why you asking me for. You should already know."
Kagome felt a tinkle of happiness at the near compliment, Suddenly she remembered Rin. "On no! We were supposed to meet up with Rin and your brother at the West Side Fountain. We're going to be late, come on!"
She spun around and started to dash toward the meeting place. She was jerked back by a hand on her wrist. Surprised, she look over her shoulder to see what had happened. With an annoyed look on his face he let go of her wrist.
"Stupid girl. At that speed you'll never get there. Get on." He turned around and crouched on the floor. Kagome stared at him unsure of what to do.
"Do you need me to spell it for you? Get on my back! I'll take you there!" Inuyasha shouted.
Kagome clapped her hands happily and got on his back. She wrapped her arms around his neck and shoulders. "Ok lets go.."
Inuyasha took off at such a speed that everything was just a blur of color and the sound of whipping wind. She could have sworn she felt the skin on her face fly off. When her eyes began to water, she hid her face in the cotton shirt and tightened her hold. Inuyasha smirked.
"What are you scared?"
"No! I just want to make sure that I still have working eyes by the end of this ride, thank you." Kagome mumbled into the shirt.
Inuyasha marveled at how light she felt on his back when he felt her lift her head.
"Ahh, you were supposed to take a left back there!"
Inuyasha grimaced at the feeling of his unused legs creaking from the sudden exercise. But of course…"No problem."
He skid to a stop sending dirt flying then whipped around. He went "flying" to the top of a building. And poor Kagome was hanging on for dear life at the moment. Jumping from building to building Inuyasha reached the West Side Fountain.
Sitting on the edge of the fountain were Rin and Sessomaru munching some leftover pastries. Inuyasha landed in front of them and Kagome dropped to the ground on shaky knees.
"Hey Kagome! Looks like you got a ride." Giggled Rin as she jogged up to her dizzy friend. "Looks like fun."
Kagome shook her head to try and get the little dots to stop dancing. "Yeah…a lot of fun." She breathed.
Inuyasha and Kagome-helped by Rin- sat down on the stone fountain. Inuyasha glanced at the fountain. It was a statue of three young mikos standing in a circle. They're hands were joined and the water rose from priestesses open mouths, arched and fell to the pool underneath. Inuyasha looked at the faces craved into the stone and realized that the three girls where Kagome, Rin and Sango. He snorted and looked at Kagome and Rin.
"Did your worshipers put that up for you?"
Kagome gave him a confused look for a few seconds and then her mouth turned into a squished O. She turned toward the fountain and gave a small smile.
"To tell you the truth, we don't know who built this fountain. When we first created this place it wasn't here. The night that Rin, Sango and I went to pray at the temple and ask the Shikon Jewel to protect our Hope it just appeared. The villagers think that it's a gift from the god."
Inuyasha shrugged. "Whatever."
Sessomaru glanced at Rin. There had been something that he had wanted to ask her.
"Rin. Where will Inuyasha and I be staying? We don't have a house or money."
That had never really occurred to Inuyasha. He wouldn't really care if he was sleeping out in the woods. But of course, our polite young ladies would never let that happen.
They solved the question of where Inuyasha and Sessomaru would stay after a short and pointless argument between Kagome and who else but Inuyasha. They would stay at the mansion with the girls. After all they had the space.
~Inuyasha~
As the gloomy, rain dampened light poked at Inuyasha sleeping face he began to wake up. He tried to swatting at the sunlight then covering his face with his hand then just gave up and lay there, staring at the ceiling. His muddled thought drifted along across Inuyasha's sleepy brain. Trying to clear his mind he rapidly blinked and shook his head.
Sitting up, Inuyasha looked around his new room. It was at least eight times larger than the cubby that he had lived in before. The carpet was quite beige made of springy material. The walls silver with orange designs traveling from the floor to the ceiling. There was a large oak dresser in one corner. In it wasn't much at the moment, but there were a few outfits. Of course there was his large, king size bed complete with silk blankets. A door that led to a private bathroom was also standing in a corner. Other things such as a desk and chairs were also there.
Inuyasha swung his legs over the side of the bed and walked toward the balcony. He pressed his hands and forehead against the glass door and stared out into the rainy weather. Obviously he wasn't going out today. He spent about five minutes flicking through channels on the tv (if any of you are confused, they do have things like tv's, radios and lights.) Then he heard a knock on the door.
The door creaked open and Sango peeked her head in.
"Come downstairs, breakfast is on the table."
He followed Sango through the halls and down the stairs and the numerous turns that finally took them to the dining room. And a very large dining room it was. A fireplace with a warm fire, vases filled with beautiful flowers, a huge table, pillars and countless tapestries decorated the vast room. Kagome, Rin, Sessomaru and Miroku were already at the table. Sango and Inuyasha lowered themselves into chairs.
Miroku grinned at Inuyasha and introduced himself, "My humble greetings. I am Miroku, a monk. I hope that you were comfortable in your accomida-"
Sange cut him off and rolled her eyes. "Miroku stop using big words and lie down before you hurt yourself. Inuyasha, this is Miroku. I think of him as the perverted freak from hell that somehow managed to become a monk, giving all monks a bad name with his wandering hands and conceited questions such as will you bear my child."
Sango took a deep breath having said that in a one.
Inuyasha huffed. "Great. I finally get free and I have to live with my brother, three ditsy mikos and a perverted monk. Could I ask for any better?"
Miroku innocently batted his eyes. "Would you prefer to live with a perverted gay monk?"
Inuyasha leapt out of his chair. "Your gay? Ah fuck no. I'm not living in this house. I'll sleep with the wolves."
Kagome scooped up some corn and threw it at Inuyasha, hitting him square in the face. "Inuyasha just sit down already. He's not gay that's for sure. You can ask all the women around here and for sure they can tell you. He doesn't live here either. During the lesson yesterday the students accidentally blew up his house so he's staying here for the time being. And besides, these woods are claimed by wolf clans and Kougo-kun wouldn't be happy to see you."
Wiping the yellow pellets from his face Inuyasha smirked. "I could take out any stupid, smelly wolf that came my way."
Sessomaru narrowed his eyes at his brothers ego. "You would do best to stop moving that cursed tongue of yours. I'm starting to get annoyed."
Before Inuyasha could curse him off a line of maids walked into the room and set a plate of pancakes, eggs and sausages before them. Then the maids themselves sat down and began to eat. Inuyasha poked at the sausage savagely imaging that it was Sessomaru.
The men mounted on the bird demon swooped overhead. Their trackers continued to beep loudly as they passes that same spot of ocean. A guard with a nose-ring yelled at his companion.
"We'd better go back to the H.E.P! Looks like those two drowned. Nothing here but water."
His friend yelled back at him, "The boss ain't gonna be happy about this."
Whipping they bird demons they flew back towards the facility.
Nose-ring's footstep echoed as he walked up the spiraling staircase. He came to a door and knocked. Master, I am back from the scout. Permission to enter."
A voice from behind the door called "Come in"
The door swung open at those words and nose-ring walked into the room. All over the walls were animal heads, stuffed as decorations. In small cages were little demon cubs whimpering in fear. A dark desk stood in the middle. The leather chair was turned so that the person sitting in it was not visible. Nose-ring walked up to the desk and announced, "Sir, the hanyou and demon are dead. We flew over the same spot many times. They must have drowned."
The voice behind the chair growled in an icy voice, "So you failed to find them did you? Fools. I should kill you for this. Leave before I do"
Nose-ring bowed and left the room in a hurry. Only then did the chair turn. In it sat a man with long, wavy ebony hair and gray-blue eyes. He rested his elbows on the desk. "No. They aren't dead." He gave a chuckle that didn't hold a milligram of warmth in it. "So they made it to the Hope. Little Kagome has some new friends."
The gray sky continued to build up rainclouds and raindrops fell from the already large clouds. Sitting on the stone window edge was Inuyasha, staring at the blurred glass.
`Damn. There's nothing to do. That rain doesn't look like it's gonna let up any time soon.'
Jumping down from the ledge he began to wander around the mansion. He walked from room to room to room to room to room to room to every single room there was. Frustrated and bored he leaned against a woven rug that hung on the wall and pounded his fist. He turned his head to stare down the hallway and saw something. He squinted and saw stairs. He stood up and flicked on the light switch. Boredom and curiosity pulled him up the stairs. He finally reached the door and turned the handle. Locked.
"What the hell! I'm going to go crazy!" Inuyasha screamed.
"You know if you're going to go crazy you might want to go outside." Said a voice from behind him.
Inuyasha spun around and came face to face with Kagome. The look on her face didn't seem angry but more like confused and bored.
"What were you doing?"
Inuyasha sat down on the stair that he had been standing on and growled, "I'm fucking bored. What do you expect me to do all day long?"
Kagome bent down and said, "Well the weather is pretty crummy. I was going to try to get some sleep when I heard you bang on the wall. So I came to see what was up." She glanced over Inuyasha's head and then back at him. "Did you want to go inside? There isn't much in there but if you want to see then we can."
Inuyasha pretended to be bored and yawned. "Whatever. I don't care."
Not paying attention to him she stepped over him and took a key from her pants pockets. She inserted it in the key hole. Then she whispered something and the door opened a tiny bit. Inuyasha got up and stood behind her waiting to see what was behind the door. Kagome returned the key to her pocket and pushed the door open. The smell of flowers hit their noses. Inuyasha looked inside the room. It was a library in a garden. In the room there were bookshelves lining three walls. In the middle there were rows of flowers and small bushes. It looked like they had been put there by magic. The fourth wall was painted with a huge cherry tree and there was another door there.
Kagome stepped into the room and breathed in deeply. "Isn't it wonderful? Sango, Rin and me wanted to have a place where we could relax. Kaede did a little magic and here we have it, our own piece of heaven." She turned around and smiled at Inuyasha.
The smell of flowers was soothing him and he breathed it in until it filled his lungs. He walked past Kagome and up to a bookshelf.
"There are a lot of books here." A very vague and simple comment on his part.
Kagome fingered a leather bound book and grinned. "Yup. A lot of them aren't that interesting. Do you like books?"
At the H.E.P they had taught them to read. Not to treat them nicely but to see how far their learning abilities went. "I don't read much."
Kagome shrugged and pulled out the book that she had been touching. She took Inuyasha's arm and pulled him to the floor. When they were both lying on their stomachs she said, "This is a photo album. I haven't looked in it for a long time but there are a lot of memories in here."
She turned to the first page and there were pictures of the three mikos looking about 13 years old. All of them were of the three playing and taking bowing lessons with Kaede. As they flipped through the book Inuyasha spotted something and grinned. Pointing to a teenage boy with a tiny ponytail being slapped by a 14 year old Sango he said, "Let me try to guess who this is. Miroku right? I can tell from the beating he's getting."
Kagome threw her head back and laughed. "Yup that's Miroku. You've only been here for three days and how many times have you seen him get slapped?"
Inuyasha mentally ticked off the times and said, "13 by Sango, 9 times by you, 4 times by Rin and a couple of times by your maids."
Kagome giggled. They resumed their duty of looking at pictures. One suddenly caught his eye. It was a picture of a little girl that couldn't be any older than 6, a tall man and a woman with a bright smile. Inuyasha snorted at the expression on the child's face and said, "Who's the kid? That smile's gonna break her face."
Inuyasha and Kagome stared at each other. Kagome's eyes looked glazed over as if she was remembering something that she didn't want to think about. With a heavy sigh she told him, "That kid is me. I guess I was smiling like an idiot. That's my family."
"Oh." What he didn't understand was why her voice was so thick. "Where are they?"
Kagome stood up and brushed off her pants. "My mom was murdered when I was 5 and a half. Then Kaede took me in."
"What about your dad?"
Kagome looked down at Inuyasha's and sighed suddenly sounding very weary. "My father…I don't know. Let's just say that he didn't agree with some ideas that my mom and I had."
Unsure of what this meant, Inuyasha followed Kagome with his eyes as she walked toward the door. Resting a hand on the knob she turned and looked at him her expression back to normal. With a cheerful smile she asked, "Are you going to stay there all day? Come on. You can keep the book if you want."
Inuyasha gracefully jumped to his feet and slipped the album under his shirt. Then he followed Kagome back down the stairs.
Nose-ring (sorry, I just don't wanna give him a name…lets just go by nose-ring for now. Thanks) took the electric rod and poked at the cheetah demon that was chained down. He frowned as it stopped struggling and fainted.
"You are a sick man Nose-ring." Came a voice from behind him.
There stood Naraku other wise known as the boss. Bowing respectfully Nose-ring said, "Sir, is something wrong?"
Naraku gave an evil grin. "No. But let your men know that we shall be going on a trip in a week or two."
Nose-ring asked, "Where to sir?"
Naraku's grin widened and he said, "To a Hope."
There hope that you guys liked it^_^ I'll try to update soon. Thanks. REVIEW please…I beg you. If you do I'll add another chapter. hehe
