Preface

This story is from one of the alternate realities in the story “Kagome! Where Are You?!” by Jeff Shelton (see chapter 37 of that story for more information). In this alternate reality, Sesshomaru found out about the black pearl in Inuyasha's eye sooner than he should have and in going to get Inuyasha, intercepted Naraku's plan to have Kikyo and Inuyasha betray each other. A huge war began between Naraku, Kikyo, Inuyasha, and Sesshomaru soon afterward. The war would have gone on forever had Naraku not teamed up with Inuyasha and Kikyo to kill Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru's sword, Tenseiga, was never found. Naraku then took Kikyo as his wife and she took Inuyasha as her love slave. With the help of Dracula and the vampire society, evil took over the world. Naraku became the Shogun (a very high position in vampire society), Kikyo became his vampire bride, and Inuyasha became a vampire-demon. Since Kikyo's soul died when she became a vampire (Inuyasha kept his soul because he never found a vampire mate), Kagome was born as her reincarnation nearly 500 years later. During Kagome's time, evil still ruled the world. Miroku, who died fighting Naraku, was reincarnated in Hojo, whose family was still plagued by the wind tunnel on the palm of their right hands. Sango, Miroku's wife who also died in the war, was a ghost who was determined to find a way to be with Miroku, even if that meant being with his reincarnation. Before Dracula was killed, he informed Naraku of Kagome, whose miko powers are growing too strong. Naraku ordered Inuyasha too kill the fifteen-year-old Kagome before her abilities became too powerful (Inuyasha never met her in this world). In a dream, Kagome was told by an alternate reality version of herself to run to the forest for she is in grave danger and all will soon be explained. And so it began…
