Kagome breathed in the scent of her miso soup, sighing as the distinctive smell filled her nostrils. "It's so nice in the modern era" she thought to herself "Oh well, I guess I have to go back to feudal Japan, I am the shard detector after all". She drank her soup thirstily, savoring the taste because she knew in a few hours she would be in the feudal era, and she cuisine of the feudal era was definitely not what you'd call delicious. After finishing her soup she dashed upstairs to finish packing. She sorted through the things she had piled up on her floor to pack and checked to make sure she had everything: Shampoo, hygiene stuff, extra clothes, a first aid kit, her sleeping bag, water, matches, and food (mostly ramen). Yup, that was all she needed to bring. She packed everything into her bag carefully. She looked at the ramen noodles sadly, Inuyasha liked them so much. "I wonder if Inuyasha actually cares about me, or does he just put up with me because I can detect the jewel shards and I bring good food from the future" she wondered, as she zipped up her bag.

Kagome slung the bag over her shoulder and ran down the stairs. Her mom was busy cleaning the house when she saw Kagome coming down the stairs. "Kagome you're leaving all ready?" she asked with a disappointed look plastered across her face. Kagome smiled sadly as she nodded and pulled her mom into a hug. "Tell Sota I said good-bye and I'll try to bring Inuyasha back with me next time, so he can spend some time with his idol," she said almost laughing at how obsessed her little brother had become with Inuyasha.

"Kagome I've been meaning to talk to you about Inuyasha," her mom said suddenly sounding serious. Kagome raised her eyebrow slightly "eh? If you're worried he'll hurt me because he's a demon don't worry he wouldn't… and if he did, just remember I've got `Sit!'" Kagome assured her mom.

"That's not it… Kagome, whenever you come back to our time you seem upset…" she trailed off. Kagome felt a slight blush.

"I'm not stupid Kagome, I know you like Inuyasha… a lot.. Kagome, I hate seeing you upset. I think you should tell him how you feel about him," Her mother said, getting right to the point. Kagome sighed angrily "Mom, ya know your right about me liking Inuyasha, but why would I tell him how I feel about him when all he's gonna do is call me a stupid wench?!" . Her mom smiled softly "You might be surprised how he would react Kagome, believe me,". Kagome found herself blushing again and couldn't think of a good response, "Uh.. Bye mom! Don't forget to tell Sota I said bye!" she yelled before running off to the well. Kagome's mom laughed remembering how embarrassed she had been about everything at Kagome's age.

Kagome jumped down the well and felt the warm blue light surround her as she was transported to the feudal era. She hated it when her mom told her how to handle her private life, but, she realized her mom had nearly always been right whenever she had given her advice. "So…maybe Inuyasha does like me?" She thought, feeling very hopeful. "The only way to find out is to take my mom's advice, and tell him how I feel," she told her self. She would tell him as soon as she saw him she decided firmly. She began to climb out of the well setting her mind to what she had decided to do with every stone she climbed.

She pulled herself up out of the well, and looked up. Inuyasha was standing there waiting for her, he had come as soon as he smelled her appearing in the well. She stood transfixed next to the well feeling very panicky about what she was about to do.

"Kagome, what are you doing?" Inuyasha asked, looking at the frozen figure of Kagome. Kagome looked up into his amber eyes and felt herself getting more and more nervous.

She suddenly pushed all her anxiety away and ran towards Inuyasha, wrapping her arms around his chest. "Inuyasha…." She mumbled "I love you…". Inuyasha's eyes widened in shock, he had wanted this for so long. "Kagome…" he smiled, wrapping his arms around her. Suddenly he smelled Shippou, Sango, Kaede and Miroku coming to welcome Kagome. He wracked his brain for what to do. "Feh!" he snorted pushing Kagome away from him. He would apologize to her later and tell her how he felt when they were alone he told himself. Kagome fell back onto the ground and felt tears starting to run down her face. She got up, dropping her bag to the ground, and started to run into the woods, not looking back as everyone who had come to greet her stared as she ran away.

"Kagome… wait!" Inuyasha yelled. Kagome turned back angrily "WHY WOULD I DO THAT YOU STUPID HANYOU!!!" she cried before running out of site.

Shippou ran up angrily to Inuyasha "what did you do now Inuyasha? You always make Kagome upset!" he fumed. "Go away," Inuyasha grunted back at Shippou and punched him very hard on the head. "WAAAAA!" Shippou started crying and ran over to Sango and Miroku. "Inuyasha what upset Lady Kagome?" Miroku asked. "Feh! All of you GO AWAY!" Inuyasha roared. Miroku and Sango exchanged worried glances. Inuyasha started muttering and turned and ran off to look for Kagome.
