Ravished within Self-denial
A/N: this is a narrative story, so the use of the word I may be author talking. Don't worry though; you'll be able to tell whose talking. Thoughts are in italics. This is a mixture of demons and humans - no danger here between the two species. This story starts as a high school setting (first chap only), but the rest is going to take place in University (studies after high school). This fic is going to progress slowly. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: All right reserved. I don't own Inu Yasha or any other characters, unless told otherwise. A few characters are created, but they don't hold much significance to the storyline.

Chapter 2: Expect the Unexpected!
“Haha. And Kagome once again owns the pool,” Kagome bragged.
“Oh pu-lease I was only a milli-second behind you.”
“Far enough to reach the end of the pool after me, Sango!”
“Yeah. Yeah, Ms. Speedy!”
Both girls giggled as they exited the swimming pool and headed for the showers. They had their `speed test' the three days. As ready as they were, Kagome, as usual, was tensing too much.
“Relax Kags! You and I both know you're gonna do just great!”
“Gonna aint good enough Sango. I have to!”
“Oh lord!” Sango rolled her eyes. “God help this girl!”
This was their third year in university - University of Huron. They were in the same undergraduate program: Physical and Health Education. It seemed that they ended up there after all.
When Kagome had received not only an admission, but a scholarship for this offer due to her academics, skills and enthusiasm (her false ranting in the admission applications), she was more than thrilled. Despite her dad's liking, she had made the decision of accepting this offer. He wasn't happy when she made her decision and Sango could tell that he still wasn't - not even after three years. Sango was just glad that Kagome, for once, did what she wanted to.
Sango had also applied in this program. She wasn't planning on coming here. She also had received an admission and scholarship offer. Of course, Kagome's scholarship was higher, no d'uh, but hey, it counted for something. Sango's other choice was from the university of Brendon - for engineering. She was always a hands-on person. But with Miroku gone to Schulich (it's suppose to be the best uni for business - world recognized), and Kagome being too excited after a very long time, she decided to head off with Kagome. It wasn't her dream to become an engineer. She just thought that she was good at it. And at the moment of making decision, she decided that she was better at being a friend. Besides, this program involved all sorts of sport activities and Sango loved sports. So she made her choice and decided to live with Kagome on Campus.
Swimming was a necessity course in this program. That's what they both loved about this program.
In the shower stalls, the water wasn't running to its maximum potential.
“Sangs, what's with the water?”
“Dunno Kags, cheap campus!”
Kagome gave it a snort.
“Oh, remember we have to go Ayame's today?”
“Sango!!”
“No Kags, I'm serious. Besides it's not like a party party?”
“All parties are party party, Sangs”
“Not when there are parents involved!”
“Remind me again why we have to go here?”
“And this is the same girl that has every bone in the body memorized,” Sango huffed.
“Mr. and Mrs. Bay are having an elegant dinner. They invited a few families over for this thing. I don't know why. But they had Ayame invite her friends as well. Ayame made it very clear that her parents are expecting us, so we need to go.”
“Hmm…” Kagome frowned.
“Just be glad that we aren't going with our families, Kags!”
That caused Kagome to give an understanding glare to Sango.
Yeah. At least, I'm not going with my family. It's been a while since I've seen them anyways and I am not dying to see them at a gathering, Kagome thought.
****************
“Oh come on Yash!” Miroku grunted.
“Not a chance Miro!”
“Why not?” Miroku questioned as he put down his weights, trying to relieve some tension in his biceps. They were at the gym. It was their normal routine workout. Part of becoming business men meant wearing suits and in order to wear suits, they needed to have a well-built frame.
“Because…” Inu Yasha responded between breaths as he lifted weights, “… it's not a party for me.”
“First of all, it's not a party! It's supposed to be an elegant dinner.”
“And how are you calling `bringing strangers to a dinner that's not even yours' elegant?”
“Well I'm supposed to come with my family. But they can't make it so-“
“I'm your family?” Inu Yasha asked as he froze mid-way in the air - not a good idea!
“Shitt!!” he cursed as the weights came down on him heavy.
“See… that's what you get when you deny God?”
“And how am I denying God?” Inu Yasha asked as he held his right wrist in his other palm.
“Well God wants you to go so apparently you denying has led to your punishment,” Miroku wiggled his eyebrows at Inu Yasha's wrist.
Inu Yasha first looked at his wrist, then at him, and in disbelief asked, “Are you for real man?”
“Oh come on Inu Yasha. It's an elegant dinner. You know what that means? I'm not to mingle with girls and have fun. I don't know anyone. What am I gonna do there?”
“So you're taking me as your pass-time?”
Miroku sighed exasperatedly. “I'm going only because I get to see my girlfriend and our best friend. It's been a while since I've seen them. And besides, Ayame insisted that I come!”
“Then go!”
“Were you even listening to me? Does three years of side-labouring means nothing to you?”
“Almost three,” Inu Yasha corrected, “and side labouring?”
“Have I not been by your side, staying up late finishing reports, presentations, tests-”
“All right. All right.”
“Yes!” Miroku fisted in the air.
“And just to let you know, it was me that did most of the work and stayed up at nights. I'm just going because you've been at my ass ever since I woke up.”
“Hey as long as it worked!”
Inu Yasha just glared at him.
“Oh and by the way, we need to be formal, but not too formal!”
“Miro!”
“Just no baggy pants! We leave in an hour.”
Now it was Inu Yasha's turn to scream. He was so not in the mood of being casual!
Standing up and staring at his work in the mirror, Inu Yasha smirked at his built.
Yup, besides the eyes, here's another reason to lay the ladies.
But first he needed a nice shower.
******************
“Sango, wait up!”
“Move it, Kags! We're late as it is!”
“No we aren't!”
“But we will be if you don't move it!”
Kagome frowned as she tried to put her foot in her heels. She just couldn't do it.
Her yelling is so not helping.
Running with her heel straps open, she locked their dorm and ran to the bus stop.
As the bus stop came into view, so did the bus that was dangerously nearing it!”
“We are so not missing this bus!” yelled Kagome.
And they both ran, heels or no heels, they ran for the bus. It was a race between them and the bus. If they missed this bus, it would lead to 15 more minutes of waiting.
Of course the bus had won the race, but the driver was nice enough to wait a few more seconds for them.
“Thank you,” Sango said as she showed him her transit pass. So did Kagome as she nodded at him.
“I so wish I had a car!” Sango complained as she took in deep breaths.
“Well… we're poor. But that's okay. Normal university students are since all our money needs to go into our study expenses and yet, we still owe them so much more!”
“Yeah, but I can wish.”
“Just sit Sangs!”
**********
“Oh this is my friend Inu Yasha.”
“Pleasure to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Bay,” said Inu Yasha as he shook their hands.
“Nice to meet you too, Inu Yasha.”
“Please make yourself comfortable.”
That left Miroku and Inu Yasha by themselves.
“Let's get a drink!”
“Like there is anything else to do Miro!”
“Will you quit being so negative Inu Yasha?”
“Easy for you to say; you actually know these people.”
“Yeah, and that's exactly why I'm standing beside you and not them.”
Inu Yasha sighed. “Whatever man.”
“Miroooo!!!” squealed Ayame
“It's her!” Miroku said without turning around.
As soon as he turned, he saw Ayame pulling up her arms to hug him, but the hug didn't `happen!'
“Ooh. And what's your name?”
“So much for knowing these people, huh Inu Yasha?” whispered Miroku.
“Hey, name's Yash.” Inu Yasha extended his hand.
“I'm Ayame,” she replied sexily.
Lord. Inu Yasha thought.
“And desperate,” added Miroku.
“Miro!” Ayame scolded. “A girl like me deserves hunks like these. Don't you think Yash-”
As she looked around, she called to him, “Yash?” But he wasn't around.
**********
Inu Yasha was walking along the sidewalk, not too far from the “invited house.”
Tell me again why I'm here? He asked himself.
“Kags, move it!”
“Well you're not the one walking with open heel straps!”
“They're still untied?”
“Arghh! All right you go and I'll catch up!”
“Just hurry it up! I'll wait”
Inu Yasha had turned around and stared at the two girls as they chattered quite loudly.
He saw one of them falling behind while the other one told her to hurry up. It only took him a second - a second. He had seen her before. He knew that face. There was no way in hell he was ever gonna forget that face. It was her. She bent down and seemed to do something with her shoes; the other one looking around and waiting impatiently.
She was kneeling. She was dressed in a knee-length silver dress - it was a halter top. Her hair was dead straight; he could tell it was straightened.
He couldn't see her face; he didn't need to. It was her.
“I'm sorry. Do I have a sign board on me saying I'm desperate?”
“And you obviously aren't used to rejection. But hey, you know what? There is a first time for everything! And you know what that's called? Reality!”
“Don't get me wrong here. You're pretty cute. But you're just not worth my time!”
It is her.
“Aghh!” Kagome huffed, stood up and fixed her dress.
“All right. Let's go!”
“About time Kags. I don't know what's up with you today? You seem distracted.”
“Tensed,” she corrected him.
Sango rolled her eyes as she walked a little ahead of Kagome.
And he came into the view. Her walk slowed. Her heart skipped a beat. Her breath came in short pants. She didn't know him. She just didn't - right?
“What do you say you and I hit it off someplace nice? It'll be my treat!”
“You obviously are nervous. But that's okay; most girls kind of get that when they talk to me for the first time. But you're not too bad so I'll give you another chance. Wanna go out?”
She knew him. She knew those eyes. And with the cocky smirk he was giving her, it was no doubt that he recognized her too. Yup, it was a confirmation. It was him.
Regaining her posture, she bit her tongue, and looked ahead. She quickly passed him and followed after Sango. He was smirking at her - she knew it. But she could only smile - not that she'd let him see that.
He stared after her.
And I was actually thinking of not coming? He asked himself.
A/N: Another one done! Whew! Took me a while.
