Kasami had finished her errands for the day before returning to the foul creatures store to take the sword he had made for Sesshomaru. It was bright out in the day as the sun rose high in the sky. With little clouds, the heat was growing as were tempers. Kasami kept to herself as she found the demon she had been looking for. Wai, who smoked out of a long pipe, must've noticed her walking up as he held the hilt of the sword in his hands. As Kasami neared closer, he soon got up and kept a tighter grip on it,
“It seems fate has changed for us,” he grinned a jagged tooth grin.
“Excues-”
Before he could even finish, he slashed her stomach open for her to fall onto the ground. She didn't emit a sound as bewilderment wafted through her. Was this really happening? Yes. And she had to go back to work. Kasami stagged back on her feet as her wound was fully healed since Sesshomaru hadn't harmed her. She ran as fast as she could to catch up with the hellish creature. Her eyes were ablazed as were her firsts as she emerged into the manor yard. Blood as the bottom of a stare caught her eye, it might be Jaken's or the other creature's. Kasami quickly followed it inside an empty bedroom where the creature had Jaken held over a fire, “Eh' bitch, look ah' 'dis thing.”
“Leave him be!” Kasami stated as she readied a wave of fire towards Wai, “And tell me where my master is!”
“Oi? Lord Sesshomaru? Bah!” the creature put his hands up in the air, “I' been wantin' that bastard dead for years. Too bad he's just not where I see him.”
“Then where is he!?” Kasami nearly screamed as she held her fiery palms an inch from Wai's distorted face, “Tell me or I'll burn it out of you!”
“Awright, awright!” Wai tossed Jaken aside and put his hands in the air again, “He's in a sacred place where he can't get in or out of. I swear, I swear on your life and my life that he's there! That's what 'dis sword is for! It makes all your problems go away.”
In mere moments, Kasami consumed the manor in flames and had Wai burned to ashes. She snatched Jaken, who passed out from the smoke, and ran out of the village before anyone could notice the disappearance. Kasami ran through an open field, through a patch of large trees, and finally stopped to breathe when she could no longer see the village behind her. Jaken, finally waking from Kasami running, managed to stream out a line of curses for not being able to protect Sesshomaru better from Wai's sneak attack. Sweat dripped from her brow as she listened to Jaken carefully; Wai had personally showed up at the manor to act as if he was giving the sword to Sesshomaru. He saw through Wai's attempt at his murder and attacked first. Wai elluded the attack and sent Sesshomaru elsewhere. Kasami cursed beneath her breath at herself for not noticing the trecherous demon first.
“Now we'll never see him again!” Jaken cried out angrily.
“Don't say that now,” Kasami caught her breath, “Sesshomaru is in a place where he can't leave, but if he was outside that place, he wouldn't be able to get in. That tells us that he's in a place where demons are not permitted to pass unless they find a way themselves.”
“There's no such place like that for Lord Sesshomaru,” Jaken commented, “He can pass anywhere as he so chooses.”
“Not entirely,” Kasami noted, “Sesshomaru is strong, I will agree to that, but even he can't pass through a divine barrier.”
“Then neither of us can go through it,” Jaken stated as he sat on the ground and crossed his arms, “This is most troubling...”
Kasami sighed as she glanced at the ground sullenly. She knew what had to be done, though she had wanted to avoid it for some time. With a quick, deep breath, she then turned to Jaken, “Do you know why my people are seen as bad luck?”
Jaken looked over at her curiously, then shrugged, “I have no knowledge of your kind.”
“You see,” Kasami began as a blood red light started to form around her, “We are permitted to do three objectives in this world: serve, provide offspring, and destroy a spieces. In order to serve Sesshomaru, I will destroy any creature who stands in my way.”
Then, Jaken was thrown back a few feet as Kasami's body was consumed in a large flame. Jaken had to cover his eyes from the dirt that was flown back with him. He opened his eyes and gasped in fear; Kasami stood with a crater beneath her as her image had changed. It had been centuries since he had seen a demon like her as fearsome in appearance. Kasami's once midnight black hair was white as snow, her eyes glowed a bright crimson, her skin was so pale that it was nearly see-through, and the only coverage of her body was a golden sash that levitated just above her breasts and womanhood. Kasami's fists burst into a large flame as she howled in laughter, flying up into the night sky and twirled in the moonlight. She hadn't been in that transformation since she before her descending onto this dimension.
“Where are you going!?”
Kasami peered down in annoyance to see Jaken waving his staff for her to come back down. She would get him later, for now she had to find Sesshomaru.

Mountain of the Stars is said to be one of the holiest places to go to for the sick and woman who want to be mothers. Kikyo, the undead priestess, tended the burial sites for infants who died at birth. It gave her peace to know that demons were not allowed in this area. Each morning, she would pray by the barriers to remain strong in order to keep all types of demons out. She would welcome young woman who, recently married, came to pray for healthy sons and daughters. It would put a smile on their face when they brought first born children to be blessed in the holy waters of the mountain.
Kikyo walked through the forest to find herbs to heal a sick man. She searched through the bushes, but to no avail did she find the hersb she was looking for. Then, her spirit reapers began to recoil, a threat was nearby. Kikyo lowered her basket quietly and strung her bow, there couldn't be a demon nearby... With each silent foot step, Kikyo followed her soul reapers before she came across a body. She lowered the tip of her arrow at the creature's head before realizing what it was, a demon? As still as she could, Kikyo slowly relaxed her bow. The demon was obviously injured and not able to move. Then again, she would not fall for anyone's tricks again.
Then, the demon's head turned towards her, “If you wish to kill me, then this is your only chance. When I am able to, I will kill you.”
“By the look of your injuries, you wouldn't be able to kill me within a week's time. Besides, you couldn't kill me,” Kikyo stated sharply, “Now explain how you got here. The barrier doesn't allow any type of demons to be here.”
The demon remained silent as he turned his head upright again. Kikyo did not say a word either. She took a step back, then another step, before she retrieved her basket and left. Whoever that demon was, he would have to leave by the next day or else she would kill him herself.

He was about a day's traveling away. Kasami ran as if her feet didn't touch the ground, she was a flash of a white blur as she ran through trees and fields. She had caught wind of a sacred mountain that used to house her kind when her people remained in this dimension. Now, demons were not allowed within it's barriers and the mountain was home to expectant mothers and the sick. The morning sun was starting to brighten the day of her second day of running without stop. If she weren't in this transformation, she would've died from the stress on her body. Kasami ran a bit faster to pick up her timing, only to come to a quick hault as a woman appeared in her way.
The woman hid a part of her face with a decorative fan. Kasami noted this womanw as not human, but she couldn't tell what this female was. A smirk formed on the woman's face, “You must be Kasami, Naraku failed mention your new appearance.”
“And who are you?” Kasami asked as she placed a hand on her hip, “I wasn't expecting to stop unexpectedly. As you can see, i'm in a bit of a hurry.”
“I was told of that information. But, as you see here, I'm in a hurry myself. You are to come with me. Naraku wants you to grant him a wish,” the woman closed her fan, “We know what you are and what you're quite capable of. And to answer your question, I am Kagura, I control the wind.”
Kasami smirked slightly as she cracked her knuckles, “You play with air, huh? Well, I guess that makes me a pyro-maniac then.”
Her entire body lit up in flames as her smirk turned into a wide grin. Kagura easily picked up the winds as Kasami sent a wave of fire towards Kagura. Right before the flames reached Kagura, the wind-mistress flew up into the air on her feather as Kasami followed suit as a tower of flames followed in her path. Kasami sent balls of fire towards Kagura, but she easily dodged each one as she came closer and closer to Kasami. Kagura then opened her fan and waved it a few times sharply as glowing blades of wind were sent towards Kasami. Though Kasami tried to burn the attack in flames, she ended up getting cut by one on her upper arm. She growled as the pain seethed on her skin, but her flames around her body only grew from anger.
Kagura chuckled slightly, “Hm? Don't like a little pain? I was hoping you'd be stronger than I was told.”
“Trust me, you haven't seen anything yet,” Kasami stated as she leaped into the air.
Kagura kept a close on her, until Kasami disappeared completely. With little moonlight lowering in the horizon, Kasami was still able to hide herself until she reappeared behind Kagura. Kasami positioned her palms right behind Kagura's back as she blasted the wind-mistress with fire. Kagura's scream pierced the morning sky as she fell straight to the ground. As Kagura plummetted to the ground, Kasami glided peacefully and the flames around her body diminished. She glanced over at the burnt body of Kagura as she barely moved to look up at Kasami, “Well...if you're going to kill me...make it quick...”
“I don't think so,” Kasami placed a hand on her hip as her other hand ran through her long, snow white hair, “You will tell Naraku that I don't grant wishes to just anyone. If he sends anyone else for me again, I will start to kill them next time.”
“Kagura, you've failed yet again. I'm not surprised by this. At least you stalled her enough.”
That voice... Kasami's spine froze as she felt an immense sense of evil nearby. Though she knew she was powerful enough to get away from him without a scratch, she could not defeat him. She barely turned her head to see that same man she had seen before. Her body screamed for her to run and get away from him, but her feet would not move. Then, when she did try to run, fear creeped up on her as she realized that large, thick roots had trapped her to that same spot. Kasami then began to struggle to be free and began trying to burn the roots, nothing seemed to work. She heard a deep chuckle that Naraku emitted as he watched her continue to struggle free from his trap. Then, Kasami stopped moving as she felt his fingers glide along her back and then gently pull at the end of her hair. Jerking away from his touch, Kasami yelled, “Don't touch me! Let me go!”
“You are in no position to make such demands,” Naraku passed her, answering her in a calm voice.
He then went over to Kagura and peered down at her. Kasami thought he would've killed her for not winning the fight, but, instead, he murmured something to her that Kasami couldn't hear. Whatever he said to Kagura, she flinched and glared at the ground. Naraku then turned his attention back to Kasami as a small smirk formed on his lips, “If you wish to live, you will obey me and grant me one, single wish.”
“It isn't going to happen,” Kasami retorted as she crossed her arms.
“Then, you don't live,” Naraku's right arm then transformed into a long branch, he held it back as he aimed to her abdomanin.
Kasami's eyes widened as she watched this process. Her thoughts went to Sesshomaru and the fear that he was stuck in a place where he couldn't be free. She feared that she wouldn't be able to help him free himself or serve him again. This fear then triggered a feral part of her soul. Naraku was preventing her from helping Sesshomaru, and that was not acceptable. A bright, white light consumed Kasami and quickly grew even more brighter until a 100 mile diameter was a pure white light being emitted everywhere. In a flash, Kasami was free and was heading towards Naraku with a sword made of the same bright, white material the line was made of. Right before she could pierce Naraku with the sword, she heard her name being called. The distraction caused her to leap away from Naraku as the light began to fade. All that remained was Naraku staring over at her and Kasami weilding the sword.
“Inuyasha, what an unexpected surprise,” Naraku commented as he turned his head slightly.
“Inuyasha?” Kasami glanced around until she saw Inuyasha leap in the air with the large tetsusaiga in his grasp, “What are you doing here!? Get away!”
“If you EVER try to kill Kasami again, I'll tear your skin off piece by piece!” Inuyasha growled angrily as he glared over at Naraku, ready to slice him in half.
“I'll wager on your offer next time,” Naraku grinned slightly as his body went up in smoke, then disappeared from view as Kagura, weakly, crawled onto her feather and glided away.
After a few moments, Inuyasha turned his attention to Kasami and seemed surprise on her true form as a Moon Demon. He eyed her for a few minutes before sheathing his sword, “Let me guess, this new look has something to do with Sesshomaru. And why were you fighting Naraku? Why are you even here?”
“Nice to see you too,” Kasami sighed as her sword disappeared, “Sesshomaru was attacked and sent to a different area. I have to go help him or he'll be stuck there.”
“Did he get his head stuck somewhere? His large ego made his head too big for his own good,” Inuyasha commented drylyg as he approached her, “Well we're heading towards Mountain of the Stars for the monk in our group. And Kagome says there's a jewel shard over there anyways.”
The sharp glance Kasami gave Inuyasha made him flinch slightly. It was the first time she had gave him that angered look since he was a child. He looked away as if he meant to in the beginning and scratched the back of his head, “Well...say something.”
“I'm more concerned for Sesshomaru than I am about your petty little jewel shards. Those shards are nothing but trouble,” Kasami stated and walked passed him.
Inuyasha, somewhat dumbfounded, watched her turn her walk back to a fast run. Kagome and the others finally caught up to see a light trail left behind Kasami's path. She looked over at Inuyasha to ask, “Where's she off to in a hurry?”
“Sesshomaru is stuck somewhere and she's going to help him. Stupid, bastard...” Inuyasha grumbled as he crossed his arms, “She's just wasting her time trying to kiss his ass.”
“I think she genuinely likes him,” Kagome commented as she put her bow and arrow set back on her back.
A cold feeling washed over Inuyasha as he thought of the woman who raised him in Sesshomaru's arms. It made him sick to his stomach to think that Kasami actually had feelings for his brother. He growled slightly beneath his breath as he commented, “Hell will freeze over the day that she actually feels that way about him. I'd rather see her with Koga than Sesshomaru.”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Kasami felt more optimistic as she felt the demon barrior nearby. It was around noon when she slowed her flight pace and stepped onto the soft grass just outside the barrior. The heat of summer of summer wafted all around her, but she approached the barrier slowly and felt a cool breeze from the mountain hidden in the barrier. Her crimson eyes gazed at the invisible barrier blocking her from Sesshomaru. Memories flooded her mind as she recalled when her people managed to create this same barrier for themselves many centuries ago. They originally built it to keep their people safe from harm from other demons. It was because of demons like Wai, who could find a way to transport demons inside this barrier, that the Moon Demons fled from this dimension and abandoned this barrier. Kasami took a deep breath before easily taking a step inside the barrier. Instantly, her appearance changed back to her original one: her snow white hair turned midnight black, flowing down her spine. Her eyes changed to their normal amber as her clothes went back to a short, simple white dress. The peace the mountain brought and the serenity of the air forced her to become the peaceful demon her people intended.
She sensed Sesshomaru nearby. Kasami ran towards the presence until she came across him sitting up as he held his stomach with his only arm. Rushing over to him, Kasami knelt besides him as she scanned his injuries, “My Lord Sesshomaru... How long have you been here?”
“Days,” Sesshomaru answered calmly, “A human shot me with an arrow dipped in poison. When I regain my strength, i'll rip her to pieces.”
Kasami's hands glowed bright white as she had her palm hover over the arrow wound after pulling out the arrow. As for the poison, she knew Sesshomaru was strong enough to have it not affect him greatly. He'll be weak for some time, but not enough to kill him. Kasami noted the strange behavior he was acting in. He wouldn't talk to her like this in any normal condition. She watched as he laid himself back against a tree as he gazed over at a nearby pond. Kasami sat next to him and quietly asked, “M'lord, how are you feeling? Is there anything I can get you?”
“Kasami, how far did you travel to find me?” he asked as he lazily turned his head towards her, his piercing eyes gazing into hers.
She felt a sudden rapid heart beat in her chest. Kasami kept herself calm and forced herself to look unaffected, “Days, m'lord. I was told you were in a place where you couldn't get in or out, so this was my first stop. I'm happy to see that I was correct.”
Sesshomaru remained silent as he continued to gaze at her for a few moments before turning his attention back to the pond. Kasami figured the poison in his body was making him calm. She wished she knew how much poison was inside of him in order to figure out how long he would be like this. Then, she felt her wrist warm up slightly. She glanced down to see he gently held her wrist and began to pull her close to him, “The last conversation I had with my father was disappointing, it was the night my half-breed brother was born. It was that night I was told you would be given to me when Inuyasha died.”
It was the first time Kasami ever felt shame for her choice to be a servant. If Sesshomaru was disappointed in having her for a servant, she would only strive to do better. Kasami felt her face flush in embarressment and look away from Sesshomaru. Though she felt as if she were hit in the gut, she continued to listen. Sesshomaru then continued, “As the eldest and stronger son, I should've been given you first. My father insisted that, because of my strength and breed, I wouldn't need you. It was Inuyasha who was inferior and needed the protection.”
Kasami slowly slid her gaze over to Sesshomaru as her shame began to dissipate. So...he wasn't disappointed? The feelings she had for him grew slightly stronger as she realized he had wanted her before Inuyasha could. Pride formed in her heart as Kasami tried to hide a small smile at his words. Maybe it was just the poison talking, but she didn't mind being praised or desired by Sesshomaru at the moment. Then, Sesshomaru started to sit up though she saw him wincing in pain in his abdomen. Kasami reached over to help him up, only to have Sesshomaru tug on her wrist once more and surprised her with a soft kiss. Kasami froze in her position and remained still, her eyes open in shock as she stared into Sesshomaru's piercing gaze. Though her heart was racing from such an intimate moment, she could taste the poison on his lips. His body must be filled with some type of poison to keep him in such a state.
Slowly, she pulled away from him. As much as Kasami enjoyed her first kiss with Sesshomaru, she did not want him to stay near this mountain any longer. She was dumbfounded and still in a daze even as Sesshomaru turned his attention back to the pond. Kasami, who really didn't know what to say, merely murmured, “Thank you, m'lord.”
“Sesshomaru,” he corrected her.
“Uhm... Thank you, Sesshomaru,” Kasami muttered again as a blush tinted her cheeks.
“That human is near,” Sesshomaru looked ahead of them.
Behind the brush and tree cover, Kasami stood up to see a woman emerge from behind the trees. Her eyes widened as did her fury, “You..”
Kikyo came out with an arrow strung for Kasami's head. The Moon Demon glared angrily at the bitch who harmed Sesshomaru and killed Inuyasha. How DARE this woman even try to take Sesshomaru away from her! Kasami took a step forward as her hands glowed dangerously white, “You have wronged me once before, I won't allow you to do it again.”
“It's you..” Kikyo lowered her arrow to the ground as she recognized Kasami's face, “You're the woman who brought Inuyasha to my village before... You're Kasami..”
“And you're still alive... I had thought you to be dead,” Kasami stated sharply, “You will let me take my master out of here and hope to never see you again. Is this understood?”
Kikyo and Kasami stood in silence as each glared at the other. Kasami, as much as she wanted the woman dead for all that she had done, would not kill her in this peaceful land. Moments passed, but Kikyo finally turned and left without saying a word. Kasami then turned to help Sesshomaru up. He staggered slightly, but put most of his weight onto her body. One arm was around her shoulders as his other hand clutched his stomach, each step he either winced or growled beneath his breath. She would not let the poison remain in his body even though she felt more comfortable with him and wanted to kiss him again. The normal Sesshomaru would eventually come out and may even be angry with her for such an act. Kasami helped Sesshomaru all the way back to the barrier, where she opened it temporarily to let him pass through. When they reached the other side, she closed the barrier and let Sesshomaru sit back against a tree. The poison would easily leave his body now that he was free from being inside that barrier.
“Kasami,” he called out to her.
Kasami was busy picking certain herbs for the toxins, but turned when he called out to her. She hurried to his side where he reached out and gently held her arm, “Sit with me.”
“But, I need to-”
“I order you to sit with me,” Sesshomaru stated just above a breath, gazing at her intently.
Kasami did not hesitate before sitting next to him. This moment would not last forever, and she knew this would be her only chance to feel closer to Sesshomaru. She turned her head to face him as he did the same to look at her. Kasami took the initiative and leaned closer to Sesshomaru, he gently put his hand on the side of her neck to bring her closer. His lips caressed hers softly as she closed her eyes this time, fully taking in his gentle kiss. By tomorrow, the normal Sesshomaru would be back and these moments would be forgotten in his mind. But not hers. Kasami's cheeks blushed as she knew she would never forget these moments.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
As the sun began to rise, Kasami woke on the grass slowly as she tried to recall where she was. Her left arm was asleep from sleeping on it as a pillow, and her body was sore from sleeping on the dirt. She gradually sat up and glanced around to recall what had happened the night before. Then, she remembered the moment where she kissed Sesshomaru... Her eyes widened in surprise, would he remember? Was he angry? Did she take advantage of a bad situation? Kasami looked this way and that, but could not find Sesshomaru. She quickly staggered to get up, hitting her head on a nearby tree, and winced in pain. Gritting her teeth, she kept taking a few steps forward until she heard footsteps coming closer to her. She glanced up to see Sesshomaru, gazing down at her state with the same cold face. Yes, he was back to normal.
“Good morning, Sessho-”
“Lord Sesshomaru,” he corrected her, his voice calm yet strict.
Kasami heart sank as she stood up straight. As much as she was disappointed, she knew it was the best thing to do. Surely he didn't want to be with someone like her.. Kasami lowered her gaze as Sesshomaru looked her up and down, “What happened yesterday is never to be spoken of. Because of your actions, I relieve you of your position. You're free to go.”
