Chapter 2: Not now!

Sarah leaned up against the wall of Kaede's hut, wondering if she was completely insane, or if she was actually in the Feudal Era. It was kind of hard, considering she believed if you felt pain, you were real. But, she never liked pain. Inuyasha called her chicken because she wouldn't let him cut her. She just crossed her arms and “keh'ed” in a very Inuyasha way, which got everyone but the two laughing.

She looked out to see the waning moon. It was its last night before the new moon. She sighed and cocked her head to the side, wondering if she should tell them.

“Tomorrows the new moon.” She stated, sounding as if bored. Everyone in the hut stilled, causing her to smile to herself mentally. “Yes, I know that too. Inuyasha,” she looked around for a moment and made sure no one but they were in the hut. “His human night is tomorrow. No use hiding it.” She stated before walking out of the hut. The brightness of the sun blinded her for a moment, causing her to close her eyes. She blinked a few times before venturing out of the hut further. She had only been here 2 days, one of those spent in the hut sleeping, and she was already completely aware of her surroundings. She closed her eyes and sighed, needing nothing more than a long swim.

“I'll be at the river if you need me.” She said before taking of to the said destination.

“Child, why are ye running so fast?” asked Kaede as she emerged from a garden of herbs. Sarah stopped and looked at her, her eyes in an innocent way.

“I was going to take a swim, Lady Kaede.” She told her before looking down into her hands and her eyes widening. “Oh! Is that rosemary and calamus root? I didn't know they grew in Japan.” She asked. Kaede's eyes widen before she laughed.

“Why, yes they are, child. You know of herd such as these?” she asked. Sarah lowered her eyes and looked at the ground.

”My father and I love to plat herbs, make incense, oils, and teas. We know most of the herbs that we see.” She stated before looking up and smiling again. “I'm going to go, so I'll see ya in a bit, baba-chan!” she yelled as she took off once more, leaving a bewildered Kaede in her wake.

“Ye be careful now!” she yelled after her. Sarah raised a hand and waved it off, showing that she heard. Kaede sighed and retreated to her hut, where the gang was sitting around, discussing weather if they should bring Lizzie along with them or not.

“No, the more people the slower we are! We are not going to slow down the hunt for the jewel shards!” declared a very pissed off looking half demon.

“I say the girl should come, after all, she does look like she could help us a bit.” The monk told Inuyasha.

“Yes, I agree with Miroku. She could help us.” Sango added. Kagome and Shippo sat, being quiet and listening to the debate. Kaede sighed and sat down, looking around at them all.

“No way! There is no way that little girl will-“

“She is not a little girl, Inuyasha.” Kaede interrupted softly. Inuyasha glared at her, while the others looked at her with knitted brows. “She is older than she appears.”

“But she told us she's thirteen,” said Kagome. “She didn't lie, did she?”

“Yes and no.” at the confused looks, Kaede continued. “She does not know she is older than that. Have you noticed the aura emanating from her?” Kagome and Miroku exchanged looks.

“Her aura almost over powers InuYasha's and Kagome's.” Miroku stated. “But it isn't strong enough to do that.”

“I also sense some week traces of demon.” Kagome added. Kaede nodded.

“Yeah, now that you mention it, after you guys cleaned her up, she kind smelled like a dog, or a pup.” Inuyasha announced. Kaede smiled and nodded.

“Yes, I believe that she is a half demon…A half dog demon.” She told them. Shippo laid his crowns down and jumped up, as did Inuyasha.

“Dog demon, headed towards the river.” They both stated before dashing out the door, Shippo on InuYasha's shoulder.

“Inuyasha!” they yelled before fallowing him.

~~~~ With Sarah ~~~~
Sarah sighed from her perch on top of a large bolder, her feet touching the water. Her pants were rolled up, and her socks, shoes, and hat lay at the river's bank.
“You're just going to sit there, human?” asked a deep voice from behind her. She yelped and jumped up, looking around her. She spotted the man a few feet from her, wearing a smirk and his arms crossed on his bare chest. He wore a light green pair of kimono pants, which came up to just below the waist line. His hair hung in a braid, the silver catching the light, accenting his deep blue eyes. She glared at him and crossed her arms in defiance.
“Yeah, and?” she asked, defiance clear in her voice also. The demon laughed, his muscles ripping.
“You're challenging me?” he laughed at her. She looked at him confused for a moment. In a blink, he was there, gripping her shoulders and smiling down at her. “Now that won't do, will it?” he asked. His tongue darted out, licking her parted lips. “That won't do at all.” He trailed his tongue and mouth down her neck, nipping at it. She began to thrash against him, her legs kicking against his. He growled and bit down on her neck, causing her to stop. He smirked and continued his trail. He licked the junction of her neck, and then sunk his demon fangs into the area, causing her to gasp.
“Get the Fuck off of her!” yelled Inuyasha as he came into the clearing. The demon laughed and lapped at the blood coming form the wound. He turned his head and smirked at him, before turning around and whispering in Sarah's ear.
“My name's Tobu, mate.” He whispered, his warm breath tickling her ear. “Remember it.” He let go of her, giving a soft pack on her lips before jumping off, leaving her standing in shock. Inuyasha yelled and swung it tessaiga towards the retreating demon, who laughed as he disappeared.
“Inuyasha!” yelled Kagome as she ran into the clearing, Shippo jumping onto her shoulder. She looked around and saw Sarah, who was standing on the rock, her eyes wide and her hand caressing a spot on her neck. “Sarah?” Said persons eyes snapped to hers, before going blank.
“He said….Mate.” she said before collapsing onto the ground, everything gone black.
