Chapter 3: Future Meet Your Past

What a week

Kagome had done as Kaede asked her. She had made up her mind that Derek & Julian were reincarnations. She would have to go back & talk to Kaede about what she had seen. They still fought a lot, but they had gotten better. Kagome at times couldn't help laughing at the immaturity of Julian. He did & said things that were exactly what Inu-Yasha would say. Derek still had the same solemn mask over his face & rivaled Julian constantly. Kagome looked up at the clock. They had fifteen minutes left of class before they were free. Unfortunately Julian & Derek started arguing again.

"Boys that is enough," the teacher yelled from the front of the room.

The argument stopped immediately.

"All right, before you go I have to hand out your next project sheet. You will be working in groups of three. The project will be due one week from today & it will be on our next subject in Japanese history which is Feudal Japan."

Groans came out of the mouths of many of the students.

"Stop your groaning! The groups are posted here on the side board. Make sure that you check it before you leave today."

With that the bell rang.

"Class dismissed."

Kagome started to walk towards the bored when her friends grabbed her.

"Kagome, do you know who you have for a partner," one of them asked.

"No, I didn't get a chance to look at the board yet."

"You're stuck with Julian & Derek," another one said.

"Nani," Kagome said.

"I feel so sorry for you, Kagome."

Kagome's world was spinning. Not only did she have a project due on Inu-Yasha's era, but she had to work with two fighting reincarnates.

Could things get any worse?

Kagome's friends left her. She walked towards the door when she felt someone grab her hand. She turned around to see Julian.

"Wait a second," he said.

"I have to be somewhere in a few minutes so I can't just sit around & chat," Kagome replied.

"I won't take long. Derek wants me to find out when & where we want to go for research."

Kagome thought about it for a moment. She had an idea in mind, but she knew it came with consequences. It would be a risk she had to take.

"Well, if you & Derek have nothing to do right now, we could go to my place. I've actually dug up some things on Feudal Japan that you can look at."

(Can you guys figure out where I'm going with this?"

"I though you had to be somewhere."

"I have to go home & wait for my little brother," she lied.

"All right, I'll be right back."

Julian went back into the classroom & grabbed Derek. They both seemed to discuss something & then came out of the room.

"Let's go," Julian said.

The trio walked in silence to Kagome's home.

"You live in a shrine," Julian said.

"Yes some of the places here are considered sacred & are not to be disturbed. A lot of them date back to Feudal Japan."

"Interesting," Derek said.

Kagome looked at Derek. It had been the first time he had said anything since school had ended.

"Come on, I want to show you guys something."

Kagome ran to the small shrine around the bone eater's well. She placed her book bag down went down the stairs. Julian & Derek did the same.

"It's a well," Julian said.

"Not just any well. Climb down to the bottom of it. I'll go after you."

"Are you scared to go before us," Derek asked.

"No, I just need to grab a flashlight really quick. I've been down their plenty of times by myself."

Derek & Julian just shrugged it off & began to climb down the ladder. Kagome quickly grabbed her backpack & climbed down as well.

"What's so interesting about this…" Julian said before he felt like he was falling.

The two boys looked around them. They knew that they had fallen somehow.

"Come on, let's climb up," Kagome said as she climbed the vines to the top of the well with Julian & Derek not far behind her.

When they reached the top, the two half-brothers look around them.

"Where the hell are we," Julian asked.
