Reincarnations Of The Forest

Chapter 2: Secrets Between the Old & the Young

Kagome grabbed her yellow backpack that she had placed in the well shrine. She dropped her school bag and jumped into the well. She felt herself travel through time and found herself in Inu-Yasha's era. Kagome climbed out of the well and ran to the village to find Kaede.

"What ales ye child," Kaede asked as she came out of her hut and saw Kagome's concerned face.

"I need to talk to you about something," Kagome replied.

The old miko studied Kagome for a minute and then led her into her hut. Kagome set her pack down and sat across from the miko who was starting a small fire.

"Kaede, do you think it's possible that other people in this time have reincarnations in my time, like Kikyou and me?"

"Tis very possible, child. Why do ye ask?"

"There are these two boys at my school. They're new to the school. I watched them today and I think they might be the reincarnations of Inu-Yasha and Sesshoumaru."

"I see."

The miko continued to study Kagome. She looked upset.

"You fear this, Kagome."

"A little. I don't know what to think about them. What would happen if they turned out to be the same way Inu-Yasha and Sesshoumaru are?"

"Do not fear them so. Nature will take its course and fix things in the end."

"I guess you're right, but I should keep an eye on those two just in case they do happen to be their reincarnations. They might be of some help to us."

"Be careful child. They may be human, but like you and Kikyou, they may share the same powers and abilities as Inu-Yasha and Sesshoumaru. They may also share the same strong hate for each other."

"I know they do Kaede. I sat there and watched them yell at each other in the hallway. Julian, Inu-Yasha's reincarnation, looked like he was going to hit Derek, who I think is Sesshoumaru. Julian has a huge temper and hatred towards his brother. Derek seemed to keep a solemn mask like Sesshoumaru and even insisted that the two of them were half-brothers."

"I see child. You may be correct in the factors that they are reincarnations. Go back home child; I will tell Inu-Yasha to stay away from your time for seven days. Watch Derek and Julian closely. You can then come back and tell me what you have discovered."

"Alright Kaede, I will."

With that Kagome grabbed her bag and went back to the well. She jumped back in.

"Why do I have to stay here," a very angry Inu-Yasha asked.

"Kagome is attempting to figure something out and she needs to do it on her own Inu-Yasha. She has promised to come back in seven days to help you find the jewel shards."

"Feh, what does she have to figure out?"

"She asked me not to tell anyone."

Inu-Yasha was mad. He left the hut and four very confused people behind him. He went to the God Tree to think.

That baka girl. What is her problem? She could have at least came and told me herself that she was leaving.

He jumped into the God Tree and fell asleep.

"Kaede, please tell us why Kagome came and left," Sango asked.

"I will tell ye. Kagome didn't want Inu-Yasha to know because it involved him and possibly Sesshoumaru. Kagome went to her school and two of the people there were new. She told me that she has suspicions that the two of them might be the reincarnated forms of Inu-Yasha and Sesshoumaru."

"But, why would she just leave us without telling us," Shippou asked.

"Kagome would have had to go through Inu-Yasha to get to you. He would have demanded why she had to go back home and a huge argument would have started. Inu-Yasha would have probably gone through the well behind her."

"He might still follow her. He will still be curious as to why she left and by this he would seek her out," Miroku said.

"I know this. That is why I need you to keep him occupied until she comes back."

"We will try Kaede," Sango promised.
