The path was getting more tiresome after many hours of walking. Every sight she saw saddened her. She saw small children that had probably died from raids and diseases. Kagome loathed raids. So many families had died in them.

Kagome also had to kill the demons that were in her way.

`Sesshoumaru was right. These paths do go on forever. I'll probably die before I find him!' Kagome thought in frustration.

Then she had an idea. “Duh Kagome, why didn't you think about this hours ago!” she said to herself. “I call upon the elements of earth. I call Earth to do my bidding. I command you to take me to InuYasha!” Kagome said.

She saw Earth surrounding her and the ground started to move. The dirt rose with her on it and started to move her farther down the path.

After many hours, the path ended to a wall. `Didn't Sesshoumaru say that hell goes on forever?' Kagome questioned herself. All of a sudden, the ground beneath her was gone. She was falling until she had Air drift her down onto the ground. To her demise, there was another long path before her.

“Is this some sort of punishment for coming here?” Kagome cried out. She found her feet and started walking down the path.

Kagome's first path wasn't that bad. This one was horrible! She saw more tortured souls roaming around her and demons doing cruel things to them.

`What if InuYasha in one of them?' Kagome thought to herself with concern. After that thought, she started to run.

The tortured spirits called out to her and pleaded for help. Her heart pained for them, but she had a mission and she had to stick to it. She tried to ignore their pleas. But all the moans were getting to her and a tear slipped out of her eye.

Kagome bumped into a person and fell. She looked up. She couldn't believe who it was.

“InuYasha!” Kagome shouted with glee. InuYasha didn't seem to hear her. He was somehow in a trance, like he wasn't in his mind. Kagome started to panic.

“InuYasha, its me. It's Kagome. Do you know who I am?” she pleaded. InuYasha looked at her but his eyes were dull, just like Sesshoumaru's. It occurred to her that maybe the good demons were put into a trance so they wouldn't think of escaping or something. How could she snap him out of it? It was easy to get Sesshoumaru out of it because he could break through the barrier.

“Come on InuYasha! I know you are strong enough to break the barrier and to tell me how to bring you back,” Kagome whispered.

“Oh, yeah human. That'll really work,” sneered a voice. Kagome felt chills run up her spine. It could only be one person.

“Kikyo,” Kagome seethed. Kikyo laughed at the human's choice of voice.

“He's so weak, he can't do that,” laughed Kikyo. Kagome started to fume, but she decided to put a leash on her temper. “It'll be a miracle if even does break through the barrier,” she added.

“It seems to me that you're still made of nothing but clay my dear Kikyo,” Kagome mocked.

“You do not say that to one of hell's priestesses,” said Kikyo. Kagome gasped. Kikyo served the head of this place?

“So, hell priestess, how do you get the good demons to be in some sort of trance?” Kagome asked.

“Well, all of the priests and priestesses put the trances in them,” replied Kikyo.

`Maybe to get them out of it, I have to kill Kikyo,' Kagome thought.

“Kikyo, I challenge you,” said Kagome.

Kikyo laughed. “Do you think you can defeat me human?” Kikyo ridiculed.

“As a matter of fact, yes!” Kagome chimed.

“Well, let's begin,” said Kikyo.

“Lead the way,” Kagome replied.
