Chapter 1

R & R Ended

Kagome and Inuyasha were lounging in a tree. It had been a week since the situation with Hojo ended. No one said anything about it though. If anyone did Inuyasha would chase them until they got tired or Kagome sat him.

Right now everyone was content. They were taking a well-deserved break. Kagome and Inuyasha were in a tree. Miroku was groping Sango. Sango was slapping Miroku and Shippo was sitting at the base of a tree below Kagome and Inuyasha with Kirara.

The last week they had done nothing but eat and sleep. No one went any further than the god tree. Kagome hadn't even gone home yet. She was too busy resting so she forgot all about it.

Kagome and Inuyasha could live in peace without anyone bothering them. Sure they would have some problems every now and then but they would handle it when the time came.

Unknown to them the time would be now. Kagome got a chill up her spine. An all too familiar feeling was heading toward them. She sat up and looked in the direction of the shard.

"What's wrong Kagome?" Inuyasha asked.

"Two shards are heading this way and fast." She told him.

Inuyasha jumped down to the ground and stood her up and took a sniff.

"Kouga."

Kagome looked at him. She had forgotten all about him after he left on his hunt for Hojo. He must've heard about his death. She was not looking forward meeting him. She was thinking of a way to get rid of him. Or at least avoid him for a while. She was having such a good week too.

"Inuyasha how about we go to my time for a while?" Kagome asked him hoping he would agree with her.

"Hai, let's go. Oi runt."

"Hai, Otou-san." Shippo said.

"Tell Miroku and Sango we'll be gone a while."

"Hai." Shippo said and headed for the hut they were in.

"Climb on we'll get there faster."

"Try not to go too fast. I need to get used to your new speed."

"Hai, hai."

They were gone as soon as Kagome had hopped on Inuyasha's back. Kagome was feeling a little dizzy. Inuyasha had gotten stronger since their mating. She guessed Hojo was right about her making her mate stronger.

It would take a while to get used to his new found strength. Who knew what else had changed about him. Slowly things were starting to change. He would get stronger or faster.

Their bond was starting to get stronger too. Even though they were still newly mated. Now they would know where the other one was all the time without smelling or hearing the other. Not that they had been apart since Kagome was kidnapped.

Inuyasha wouldn't let Kagome out of his sight. Not even for a minute. She didn't mind though. Although sometimes it was irritating when she wanted to think. How could you think about something when someone was staring at you the whole time?

They had arrived in the well and jumped in. As soon as they were out of the well they were greeted by Kagome's family.

"Ah Kagome you're all right. You had us worried. You have never been gone this long without letting us know first." Ms. Higurashi said.

"Gomen Okaa-san. We had a little bit of trouble in Sengoku Jidai." Kagome said giving everyone a hug.

"Oh well why don't you tell me all about it. Ji-chan is going to watch Souta's soccer game."

"Hai. Come on Inuyasha." Kagome grabbed his hand and dragged him inside.

Kagome had told her everything, everything except the mating. Though Ms. Higurashi already assumed it. You could tell by their body language. Inuyasha was itching to hold Kagome.

"So, when did you do it?" Ms. Higurashi asked them as if it were the most causal thing to talk about.

"Okaa-san what are you talking about?" Kagome stuttered.

"You know what I mean dear. I can tell in your body language. Inuyasha's been dying to touch you. Haven't you Inuyasha?"

He just blushed and nodded. He knew it was ok now so he sat closer to Kagome and put an arm around her waist. He felt less tense now. Sure he felt comfortable around her but touching her was like his own little taste of paradise.

"So when will I be getting grandchildren?" They both spit out the tea they were drinking and blushed.

Shippo ran to Sango and Miroku to tell them that his Otou-san and Okaa-san would be gone. He knew why they were leaving. That was the only reason he let them leave without him fighting them.

He could smell Kouga coming. The week had been too nice and relaxing to let it be ruined by a fight over Kagome. Kouga probably didn't know that they had mated yet and he didn't want to see his reaction right now.

"Sango, Miroku Otou-san told me to tell you that him and Okaa-san will be gone for a few days." Shippo said.

"I wonder why they left without saying goodbye?" Sango asked. Her question was answered as soon as the dust cleared.

Kouga stood there as if he owned the world. "Where is Kagome? I can still smell her scent."

"Well, she is gone for a few days." Miroku said.

"Where is inukurro then?"

"Otou-san went with her." Shippo said.

Kouga looked at Shippo with wide eyes. `Did he just call inukurro Otou-san?' He would never in a million years think Inuyasha would have a son.

"I'll just wait for her then." Kouga said and sat down.

Everyone just groaned. The rest and relaxation week had just ended. They would just have to wait for Inuyasha and Kagome to come back.

Kagome jumped on her bed. She had just had the most embarrassing conversation she had ever had in her life. She had talked to them about having kids and the responsibility they would have in the future.

Then she had talked about how her school called and wanted to know what happened. They never had the chance to clear up the situation with the school. Only Kagome's friends knew. Well they knew something anyway.

Kagome would have to go to school tomorrow. She was not going to like to be questioned again. It was the same thing every time she went there. Her friends would ask her if she felt better and then the bell would ring and the questions would then again be asked at lunch.

She sighed. She would have so much work to make up when she got there. Inuyasha laid down next to her and nuzzled her neck. All problems were now forgotten as she curled up with Inuyasha and fell asleep.
