[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Ok, Kagome's dead (Sadly) and now her daughter, a promising young female writer named Kyoko, has found a portal of her own to take her back to the feudal era. She meets up with three of her moms old friends and some newer one's; all she wants is someone to love her and all she gets is betrayal.

Chapter One: Back to the past.

“Grandma, I'm going to school.!” Kyoko called up the stairs. “I'll be back in a while.”

“Have fun sweetie, and please don't get in any fights today...” She said.

Kyoko nodded and slipped her shoes on and ran out the door.

“Hey squirt.” Sota said coming up the steps. “Here, it looked like something you might read so I picked it up for you.”

Kyoko took the old leather bound book and flipped through a few of the yellow page. “Thanks,” She said and gave him a hug. “I really got to go, I'll see ya later though.”

He nodded and continued inside. Kyoko ran as fast as she could down the steps and down the street.

“Momma, I'm here.” Sota said coming through the door.

“Did you...”

“Hai, she has it with her... Her mothers' journal might help her. She hasn't written a new book in two years...” Sota said and looked at his hands. “Do you think it was the right thing to do?”

“It was, all we could do to help her...” Mrs. H said. “I just hope she understands...”

“She will momma, if she's like her mother, she will...” Sota said.

Kyoko ran into the gates of her school just before they closed. “Shit!” She said running up the steps.

When she got to her classroom the students began to laugh at her. “Miss. Higurashi, please take your seat, and try not to be late again.”

Her red eyes flashed at the people as she took her seat.

“Ruff morning?” Risa asked.

Kyoko nodded. “Yeah, I thought I lost my bag then when I was leaving my uncle showed up and gave me a book.” She sighed. “Sense I turned seventeen things have been going crazy.”

“Like how?” She asked quietly. “I already know about the visions and the uncontrollable temper.”

“Well this morning I woke up and my hair was twice as long as it was last night... Then it just went away...And my eyes turned red...” Kyoko whispered.

“Lack of sleep...” Rise shrugged.

“No, look, I mean red,” She looked her in the eyes, the color was fading to a light pink color but it was still noticeable.

“Ooo, I understand...Come on, we'll go get Jon and Kai and go out for lunch.” Risa said. Kyoko nodded and got up.

“Where do you two think your going?” The teacher said. “Well?”

“Why do you care, you already failed me. I could easily turn you in. Failing someone because their book got published... Pathetic.” Kyoko said and rolled her eyes. She and Risa walked out to find Jon and Kai already outside of their door.

“Hey what's wrong with Kyoko?” Jon asked.

“She had a ruff morning.” Risa said. “Even though it still is morning.”

“Come on, I wanna get out of here.” Kyoko said and smiled. Kai put his arm around her and kissed her on the cheek. “Kai, you know I don't like you like that.” She slipped his arm off her shoulders.

“It was worth a try.” He laughed.

“Momma,” Sota said. “Are we going to let her go back to the feudal era and find her father...”

Mrs. H nodded. “If she wants to go back after she reads the journal she can.”

“Yeah, ok...” He smiled and nodded.

“Jon, Kai, where do you wanna go?” Risa asked. “I was thinking we get take out and go to the park.”

“Sounds good,” they said simultaneously. “Kyo?”

“Yeah sure.” she said with her nose in a book.

“What are you reading?” Risa asked. “It looks old.”

“It....It's my mothers journal...” Kyoko whispered and looked up at them with renewed red eyes. “She was that sick girl at our school from fifteen years ago...But, she was never sick...”

“Your mother was Kagome Higurashi?” Risa asked. “That explains why you're so weird...”

“What does that mean?!” Kyoko asked. “You knew my mom was Kagome...”

“Nothing, it's just. All of our parents were friends and your mother was the one who got pregnant when she was still in school. Our parents called her a whore.” Jon said.

“Not mine,” Kai said. “ My mother told me that your mother found true love and had you but she ended up getting killed in a gang fight or something like that.”

“Your mother is a hopeless romantic.” Risa said to him. “Which kinda explains a lot.”

“Hey!” He laughed. “I'm not my mother!”

“You're not, but she is.” Risa said. “Come on, let's go.”

“Hold on a sec...” Kyoko said. “You're going to stop being my friend because my mother was always out of school and got pregnant with me when she was in school and got killed?!”

“Yes,” Jon and Risa said. “Come on Kai.”

“No, I've known Kyoko sense pre-K. She's really honestly like a sister to me... I just like to pick on her.” Kai said and put his arms around her. “You aren't very good friends.”

“Her mother was a whore. Father said so,”

“Your father was jealous because my mother didn't want him.” She glared at Jon, her eyes turning a ruby color again.

Risa walked up to her and smacked her. “Bitch!”

Kyoko put a hand to her cheek and pulled it away with blood on her fingertips. “I hate you.” She whispered. “All of you, you act like friends but you're not...”

“Kyo...”

“Not you Kai, you're like family.” She said. “But you, both of you deserve to rot in hell!” She began to pull her hair slightly. “I swear if you come near my house Ill kill you!” She began to cry and ran in the direction of the park.

“KYOKO!” Kai yelled and turned to Risa and Jon. “You just broke the purist person I know and purist person in the school!” He said and ran after her.

“She will be drawn to the park. That's were she will come and go.” Sota said. “The passage will be threw the lake...”

“Ok,” Mrs. H said writing it down.

“All we can do is hope she can figure out how to get back,”

“I do too...” She whispered. “I do too...”

Kyoko sat by the lake crying. “I wish my mother was still alive... Then I wouldn't be alone...”

“You're not alone Kyo, you've got me...” Kai said walking up behind of her and sat down wrapping his arms around her. “You're like my sister.”

“Is that why you hit on me? Cause I'm like your sister.”

“No, It's just fun to hear you come up with excuses.” He said and kissed her cheek.

“Thanks for being here...”

“It's not a problem...”

“BOTH OF YOU GIVE ME YOUR MONEY!” A man said running up on them with a knife. Kyoko tripped and fell as she was standing and fell into the lake. (a/n: heheh ::sweat drop:: I couldn't come up with anything else for him to do…)

“KYOKO!” There was a flash of bright pink light that was all. The robber took off his mask to reveal Sota standing there with a few tears.

“Sorry Kai, I had to. She had to find her father...” He said. “I'm sorry I scared you.”

“WHERE DID SHE GO SOTA!!! WHAT DID YOU DO!!!” Kai yelled with tears running down his face.

“She's in the past, in the feudal era. She has to find her father...” He said. “You can go too, just jump into the lake...”

Kai took off his shirt and shoes. “You better not be kidding! Otherwise, your dead.” He took a running jump into the water and there was another great flash.

Kyoko opened her eyes and looked around. “KAI!” She yelled and ran into the water and flipped him over. “Kai, are you ok?!”

“Yeah, fine.. My head hurts like hell though.” He said. “Are you ok?”

“I'm fine...”

“That's good...” He said. “Come on...” He stood up and helped her out of the water.

“There they are!” A male voice was heard. “There are the demons!”

“HEY, I'M NOT A DEMON!” Kyoko yelled. “I've never been a demon in my life. Not even for Halloween.”

“You girl, what's your name?!” A woman with black hair said.

“I'm Kyoko, and this is my `brother' Kai....” She pointed at him.

“Neither of you have demon auras... THEY ARE NOT DEMONS!” She called to the villagers. She looked back to them. “ You have lovely green eyes.” She told Kyoko. “Come, we will get you some better clothing.”

They nodded. `This woman is far to nice...' Kai thought. `What is she up too...'

As they neared the village Kyoko started to get a strange feeling in her stomach telling her to deny what they say or ask.

“Where are you from?” The woman asked.

“I can't remember...” They said in unison.

“My mother was killed when I was born and my surrogate brother over there is just stupid...”

“I am not!” He said angrily. “I'm smarter than you!”

“So you adopted each other then, that's sweet. There used to be a woman who would come to the village looking to see if her surrogate sister had returned. Not long after she quit coming we found out she had been killed by an evil half-breed named Naraku.”

“What was her name?” Kyoko asked curiously.

“Kagome Higurashi... Tell me, how can you not remember where you are from but you know who each other are and about your parents?” She asked.

“Well, you see, we met when we were both looking for our families.” She began to change into priestess garb. “ Then we just became like brother and sister. But we went to this witch, and told us my mother had been killed and his mother had fled a battle and couldn't grab him fast enough. Other than that everything is a blur.”

She nodded with acceptance. “Very well, my name is Kikyo. I do hope you make yourselves comfortable.”

“KIKYO!!! RUN!!” Came a howl as a man with white hair, dog ears and gold eyes came running down the hill, “Demons are coming to the village we need to get everyone out of here so we can fight them.”

“HOLD ON INUYASHA!” She yelled and ran up to him. “Ok, hold them off as long as possible. You two, go ahead and hide in the trees over there.”

“Alright,” They both said and took off running.

The sounds of battle raged as the cries if demons being slain were heard.

Kyoko was sitting next to a tree reading the journal left to her.

Dear diary,

Today has been wonderful, InuYasha and I are finally getting along now that Kikyo is gone,
I am sad that she died, she was my incarnation like people thought.,
I can't have an incarnation unless it's her .But I really am sad that Kikyo died again, and at the hands of Naraku no less.
She was InuYasha's lover... And I know he only sees me as a replica of her. But I love him and he says he loves me.
The final battle will be coming soon and we have Kagura and Kanna on our side. Koga is going to help us and so is Sesshomaru and his mate. I can believe it, he actually got a mate. Tazoka I think her name is. A beautiful Inu. Long black hair and a smile like a goddess. She so sweet, I don't see how he even got her. But I'm glad he did. He's a lot more tolerant now.
Well I got to go, Sango is trying to get into my diary. Bye

Kagome Higurashi

“Wow,” Kyoko whispered. `But then, why is Kikyo alive, if Naraku killed her...'

“KYOKO, LOOK OUT!!!” Kai yelled.

She turned and looked to see a large demon flying her way. She screamed loudly as it grabbed her by the shoulders and began to carry her off. Kai began to run as fast as he could after her.

“LOOK OUT KAI!” She yelled as another demon flew out of nowhere and pushed him back into the lake, and with a bright flash he was gone. “NO, KAI!” she began to scream and her eyes began to burn. She grabbed hold of the demons hands.

“You're not getting loose.” He said. “Your friend is dead.”

“Kai,” She whispered this time, the green of her eyes going red. “He's not dead, just home! You bastard!” Her grip on the demons hands tightened and she dug her nails into his flesh, she looked up at him. Her hands glowed a light red color and he cried out in pain dropping her to the ground.

Kyoko could feel a pain shoot through her. Looking down at her side she saw a large gash and her blood on the tree above her. “Oh my god...” she whispered. `I haven't been here a day and I'm already going to die...'

Kyoko's world began to go dark as a figure stepped over her and wrapped their arms around her lifting her and taking off at an alarmingly fast rate.

“Sota!” Kai yelled running into his apartment soaked. “Kyoko was taken by a demon.”

“Kagome was too the first time she had gone to that world. She found love there. It's where Kyoko was born.... She's not from this time. she belongs there...” Sota said and smiled weakly. “You can't go back for her now, not until she comes back.”

Kai fell to his knees. “You threw my sister into the water and now you can't get her back!” He cried. “She was like my sister, she was the only one at school that listened to what I had to say.”

“she will be back you know,”

“I know but when... where, what time...I love her Sota, I would die for my sister.......”

“As would I...”

“Tell me when you see her.. Tell her I want to see her...”

“I will.” Sota said patting the boy on the head.

Kyoko sat up quickly and cried out in pain as she clutched her side.

“Stupid girl…” A man said coldly stepping out from the shadows. He had long white hair and bangs that covered his right eye. His eyes were ice blue and his skin was a pale cream. He had two black stripes on either side of his face and a black crescent moon on his forehead. “You sat up to quickly…”

“No…Kidding…” She gasped sarcastically with her eyes clenched shut.

“Lay back down…”The man said walking over to her and pushing her down none to gently.

She cried out again and clutched her side more tightly. She could feel a warm thick liquid pouring through her fingers and opened her eyes. She raised one hand up and looked at it; her own lives blood covered her hand. She sighed and laid her hand down next to her while the other still rested on her side. Wincing she looked over at the man. “Where am I?”

“You are in the western territories.” He turned to the side and picked something up off of the ground. When he turned back he unrolled it. “Can you roll onto your side?”

Kyoko nodded and lifted herself up as best she could before falling back down. She muttered a few curses and tried again, this time lifting herself and turning quickly before she could fall.

“Hm…” He sighed, lifted her shirt off of the wound and peeled off a bandage he had put there when she was unconscious. He heard her hiss slightly and begin to twitch restlessly. “Stay still or it will only hurt worse.” He said coldly and mumbled something she didn't quite catch.

Kyoko gasped as the man ran a cool damp rag over the gash, gently wiping and dabbing the blood away. He put a type of herbal paste over the wound and placed the bandage over it carefully.
“Thank you…” She said. “I appreciate it, really… But I need to go home…” She fell back over to her back and tried to sit up only to be pushed back down, again.

“Lay back down woman.” He said colder than before. “You will not go anywhere until that wound is healed.”

“You can't tell me what to do!” She said feeling anger rising up in her stomach. She struggled to sit up once more. “ And my name is Kyoko! Not woman or any other name you can come up with!”

“I told you to lay back down…” He said and pushed her for the third time. “Now stay down or you are going to tare your wound opened and make it worse than before.”

Kyoko sighed in defeat and stayed down. “What's your name?”

“Why do you wish to know?” He asked leaning against a tree.

“Because I enjoy asking dumb questions and talking to strangers.” She said sarcastically; he raised and eyes brow and glanced at her. She sighed and shook her head. “I was kidding, I want to know your name because you helped me when you could have easily left me to die. No one has ever helped me, even when they felt sorry for me… It's a nice feeling to be helped…whether I know the person that has helped me or not…and I would like to thank you properly.”

“I see…” He said. “I am Ren of the western territories.” He leaned his head back and sighed, staring up at the sky aimlessly.

Kyoko was lying silently watching the sky as he was. Slowly it was growing dark and the wind was beginning to blow causing her to shiver uncontrollably. She didn't say anything about it; she merely laid flat on the ground and crossed her arms over her chest. Of course she noticed Ren glance at her and stand, walking into the woods and leaving her. For a few moments she had thought he left her there to freeze to death or be eaten by some crazy demon.
There was a rustle in the brush where he had left and he stepped through, carrying a few logs which he place fairly close to her and lit a fire. Ren walked silently back to his stop and began to gaze at the sky again.

Kyoko watched him silently and sighed, turning her head to the side and closing her eyes. Became relaxed and could feel the wound on her side tingle. `I hope it's not getting infected…' She thought and realized something was missing. She sat up abruptly and looked around. `MY MOTHERS JOURNAL!' She thought frantically, forgetting the cut on her side.

“Why are you up?” Came the cold voice that belonged to Ren.

“I had a leather book with me… Was it with me when you brought me here?” She had a worried look upon her face and tears that threatened her eyes. “Or did you happen to see it at all?”

Ren nodded slightly and pulled the leather bound book from his sleeve. “Yes…” Was all he said as he stood and walked over to her and pushed her down for the fourth time. “Now stay down!” He growled and handed her the book, walking back to his spot and sitting against the tree.

“Thank you…” Kyoko mumbled. She opened up the journal and smiled at her mothers' handwriting.

Dear Diary,

I was talking to Sesshomaru and Tazoka today, it turns out they were mates before InuYasha was even born…
GODS I WONDER HOW OLD THEY REALLY ARE! Well anyhow, as it turns out, they have a son; Rin stays with him when Sesshomaru and Tazoka are doing something. And Tazoka says that Rin is so cute, she wants to adopt her I think. Sesshomaru
Will probably go for it. He has had Rin with him for like two years now I think and she adores him as a father… Sango and Miroku
are getting married! I can't wait, I just hope he doesn't grope her during the ceremony or she might kill him…hmm. Mindless babble
great isn't it. Well anyhow it's late and I need to sleep. Keade has been training me and so has Sesshomaru, I don't thing I can stay awake any longer… Good night.
Kagome Higurashi

Kyoko sighed and began to think deep thoughts. `I wonder who Sesshomaru was…if he's still around. Maybe I can find him here… My mother has obviously been here before so this may be very well where she had met him. I suppose I'll ask Ren sometime… Maybe when I get to know him a little better… but if my mother knew this, Sesshomaru then he might be able to tell me something about her. Like, how did she die, really. And if she is the reincarnation of Kikyo then why is Kikyo alive again? On the first entry it said Naraku had killed her… But if my mother is her reincarnation then they have the same souls and my mother would have had to die to bring her back, right… Then InuYasha… Mother trusted him She loved him… Perhaps he betrayed her and he killed her to bring back the other woman…but then Naraku could be a possibility to if what that woman , Kikyo said was true… But then if InuYasha was truly in love with my mother then why didn't he bring her back instead of Kikyo.'
She sighed. She had far to much on her mind and it was exhausting her. Kyoko closed her eyes. `Just for a minute,' She thought and slowly fell asleep.
