Disclaimer: I do not own the friggin' show... though, I wish I did...

AN: Some scenes from the show may be a little different, because a) I cannot remember them all, and b) I am getting most of my information from the manga. In addition, Kagome is meeting up with Sesshoumaru, so I shall have to improvise a little, too.

Reversed Chapter 1: The Girl from the Future Meeting the Boy from the Past

AN: If you see phrases or words like this `italics' those are thoughts.

A fifteen-year-old girl, known as Kagome Higarashi, was seen emerging from the Bone Eater's Well near Sesshoumaru's Forest. The first thing she noticed was that the well house no longer surrounded her; instead, all she could see were trees. She walked around, calling for her grandpa or mother, finding nobody but her echo. The girl continued to wad through the knee-high grass until she came across the giant Goshinboku Tree.

"Great, I can find my home now," Kagome said, smiling as she started towards the old landmark.

Halfway to the towering tree, Kagome stopped in her tracks. There, pinned to the tree by an arrow through the heart, was a boy…

The boy had long, velvety silver hair. A crescent moon adorned the middle of his forehead, while two magenta colored stripes stained both sides of his face. He seemed to be sleeping there peacefully, in his white and red kimono. She had just asked the boy what he was doing up there, when she noticed the white, fluffy tail wrapped around the boy's torso. Letting temptation get the best of her, she climbed the thick roots of the tree, and petted the tail to find that it was very soft, as well as fluffy.

Kagome stopped caressing the tail and turned around to sigh contentedly. "Now that that's out of my system..."

Her head snapped up abruptly as villagers from the nearby village surrounded her.

"What are you doing there?" asked one of the men fiercely.

That was the last thing she heard before the swish of arrows could be heard echoing around the clearing, embedding themselves deep within the old tree's bark. She pushed herself up against the boy's body, protecting her face from the deadly weapons.

"This place is off limits," shouted another man, brandishing his bow as though preparing for another shot.

"Are you from a foreign province?" inquired some another man, looking her over.

"Eh, I was just looking for my home," replied Kagome meekly. Her eyes peeked out of the fluffy tail that she had been hiding in.

"Tie her up and bring her before Kaede's hut," commanded what seemed to be the leader of the group. "She'll know how to deal with her!"

Kagome kicked and screamed at the process of being bound, but it was to no avail. She was soon brought to the front door of some hut. She found herself tied up at the wrist and ankle, sitting on the dirt filled ground.

"You don't have to tie me up, you know!" exclaimed the girl from the future, apparently a bit annoyed. "What kind of place is this; it seems like its Sengoku Jidai."

"Clear the way! Priestess Kaede has arrived," announced someone from the crowd.

An old woman appeared. Her long white hair seemed to accent the black eye patch she wore over her left eye, and fit well with the large and heavy-looking bow she was leaning heavily upon.

"Who are you, and why were you lingering around Sesshoumaru's Forest?" inquired the age-worn miko.

Kagome looked at Kaede as if she retained three heads, `Geez, another weirdo has arrived.'

While Kagome moped about weird people, the old miko seemed to be intrigued by Kagome's looks. She took Kagome's face into her hand and examined her thoroughly, as though examining a gem.

"Try to look more intelligent," commanded the old woman.

Kagome gave a puzzled expression, but complied, just the same.

"You…resemble…my older sister…Kikyo."

"Huh?" asked Kagome.

"I will explain later. Come," demanded Kaede as she pulled the young girl into her home, leaving everybody behind to do as they will. "Rest up and eat; then I will elaborate."

By the time Kagome's stomach filled, night blanketed the cozy village, and the explanation of Kikyo and other things began.

"Kikyo is a powerful miko who very much resembles you. She is my sister, as well as the guardian of the Crescent Jewel, a crescent-shaped jewel that possesses powers beyond all. She fell in love with Inuyasha, a half-dog-demon and half-human, who is the son of the Western Lord. He is the successor of his father's throne because his elder-half brother had left the Western Castle at an early age, and he'd wished to become a full demon like his older sibling."

"My sister wished for Inuyasha to become human. He agreed, but the night before his wish was made, the jewel was stolen, apparently by his brother, Sesshoumaru. My sister was furious and set out to kill him. When she reached the god tree, she spotted him. She quickly notched her arrow and fired it. Though Sesshoumaru was fast, he was pinned to the tree through the heart forever, but not before fatally wounding my sister."

"So that person I saw at the tree was Sesshoumaru," muse Kagome aloud. She gave a smile at the memory of his fluffy tail.

"Yes, now let me continue. Soon afterwards, Kikyo died from her injury, and was cremated along with the jewel. Inuyasha was angered beyond belief, and wanted to kill his brother, but since he would never awake, he saw no point."

"I understand who Kikyo is now and a little bit more, but why are you telling me this?"

"I inform you of her because you look very much like her. As if you are Kikyo's exact copy, or, more like, her reincarnation. If I am correct, you should bear the same magical powers as she does-perhaps even more power than she had. I can sense them in you. Moreover, you carry something very powerful within you; I suspect the Crescent Jewel," replied Kaede. Again, she inspected Kagome's face very carefully.

"That explains a few things. Anyway, ah, would you mind if you untie me?" Kaede said nothing as the restraints on Kagome loosened.

"Well, this isn't Tokyo, isn't it?" inquired the young girl. Somehow, from the looks of things, she knew what the answer must be.

"I haven't heard of that place before. Is that your province?" asked Kaede, curious.

"You can say that," answered Kagome then muttered to herself, "I wouldn't mind getting home about now; the problem being, of course, how I would do that…"

Before she could come up with an answer, crashes and screams were heard outside. The two instantly bolted away from the house as a horse landed on its side in front of them.

"What is going on?" questioned Kaede to no one in particular.

Just as the old woman finished her sentence, her question was answered for her. A tremendous centipede demon was seen rampaging through the village. The demon's body, being kilometers long, caused some major damage to the village and its inhabitants. As if sensing a new enemy nearby, the demon turned to Kagome and glared at her menacingly.

"Give it to me!" it demanded. Its voice was harsh and rough.

"Give what to you?" asked the frightened girl.

"Give me The Crescent Jewel!"

"I don't know what it is! I don't have it!"

"Then I'll just have to take it myself."

It was then Kagome knew what she had to do-to protect the villagers, she'd have to take that thing away from their village. If that thing wanted her so badly, then it would follow her, away from the village and the innocent people. Just as she ended her train of thought, she found that she had ran right back to the spot that she had been to earlier that day-right back in front of Prince Sesshoumaru.

Suddenly, he began to pulse. His head lifted and his eyes blinked. He took a whiff of the air surrounding him and sensed Kikyo nearby. He growled as his demon's eyes landed on Kagome. Too busy trying to get away from the mutant centipede, Kagome noticed none of this.

"It seems that you have weakened, miko," mused the pinned boy, mistaking Kagome for Kikyo. "By now that petty demon should be nothing but dust. What has happened to you?"

Kagome instantly turned around upon hearing a velvety voice, forgetting at once that she was running for her life.

"Free me from the arrow and the demon will die," offered the Sesshoumaru. He didn't look at her while he spoke; instead, he stared off into the wood, where the sounds of collapsing trees and thundering booms were growing closer.

She thought about it for a few seconds, before running up the tree roots as fast as she could. But before she reached the tree, the centipede demon brought her down. The centipede drooled over the power she was about to attain. Ripping open the left side of her torso, the demon let Kagome drop to the ground. A blue, crescent-shaped jewel fell out of the wound. The demon grabbed up the jewel, and shoved the whole thing into her forehead.

Kagome screamed in pain as her torso burned, and screamed once more as she dropped to the ground. Yet she did not give up her goal to free the demon prince. She pulled herself from the ground and limped to the tree. Just as she was about to pull the arrow out and set the strange boy free, in an attempt to stop Kagome and kill her off, Mistress Centipede wrapped her lengthy body around the tree, pinning Kagome against Sesshoumaru. A feeling of being pricked by a million needles spread through Kagome's entire body, but she pressed on. Within a minute or two Sesshoumaru was free from the arrows magic.

He broke free from the centipede's tight grip with a jerk from his shoulders. Leaping high into the air, he brought his claws down deep into the demon's heart. It dropped down to the forest floor with a thundering clash, but almost just as soon, the body began to move again, and the wound to repair itself. The silver-haired demon smirked and once again dug his claws into the demon, except it was aimed at the forehead instead of the heart.

When his hand disengaged itself from the forehead, the crescent shaped jewel rested in the palm. Instantly, the demonic centipede ceased to move; instead, it turned to dust and scattered with the winds.

He glanced over to Kagome. She had dropped to the floor, leaning against the tree for support against her injury and exhaustion.

"This, I will keep. Now you will die," informed the powerful demon as he smirked in satisfaction.

Before he could make a move, Kaede, who had seemingly just arrived, tossed a rosary to Kagome.

"Hurry, and put this around Sesshoumaru's neck," urged the miko. She looked as if she had run all the way from the village herself.

Kagome wasn't able to walk over to him. He was much too powerful… So, she threw it. The rosary went at lightning speed and landed right where it was supposed to-right around the demon prince's neck.

"Now say a word," instructed Kaede with a tense face, "any word that would be able to sedate him!"

Thinking quickly, Kagome said the only word that made sense in her mind at the moment-"DOWN!" The rosary around Sesshoumaru's neck pulsed. Before he could do anything, his face met with the ground and a horrible thud rang around the clearing.

When Kaede saw how the demon reacted to the rosary, she let out an unnoticed breath.

"It seems that the all-powerful Sesshoumaru is now suppressed," commented the old woman.

Sesshoumaru lifted himself off the ground, dusting off the dirt that clung to his kimono and rearranging his tail over his right shoulder.

"This Sesshoumaru will not be overpowered," stated the demon as his claws reached for the rosary around his neck. He intended to cut the rosary into pieces, but the minute the string of beads felt threatened, it sent out a wave of electricity, powerful enough to affect its bearer, taiyoukai Sesshoumaru.

When he figured that the rosary could not be broken, he turned to Kagome, "Miko, get this off of me or you will suffer a most painful of deaths." Despite his terrible threat, his expression did not change. It remained stoical the entire time.

Kagome paled. The demon had meant what he'd said. Now what would she do?

Her question was answered when Kaede said he could not kill her. "Ye cannot kill this young miko, for the rosary forbids it. The person who puts the beads around another can choose one word, and when that particular word is said the rosary will do as the word suggests. In addition, the bearer cannot kill the person who puts it on him. If he so tries, the rosary will tighten around his neck. The only way the necklace will come off is when the person who puts it on, takes it off."

"Then take it off, Kikyo," Sesshoumaru commanded. His tone of voice left no room for arguments.

Upon hearing such a demanding voice, and being mistaken as another person, this Kikyo, Kagome's anger rose. "YOU POMPOUS ASS! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? YOU DON'T JUST COMMAND PEOPLE LIKE YOU'RE ABOVE THEM, AND FOR YOUR INFORMATION, I'M NOT KIKYO! I'M KAGOME, KA-GO-ME, GOT IT? USE YOUR NOSE IF YOU HAVE TO! YOU'RE A DOG DEMON, AREN'T YOU?"

The demon's patience seemed to be running a bit thin. Proven so, because instantly after her little outburst, Sesshoumaru disappeared, and reappeared next to Kagome with his hand around her throat. This particular position didn't last long, for as his hand began to tighten, so did the rosary beads around his neck.

Seeing that that method didn't work all too well, and he hadn't really determined that she was Kikyo, he inhaled the air around him, dwelling on Kagome's scent the longest, realizing that there's a distinct difference between Kagome's scent and Kikyo's. Kagome's was cherry blossoms and roses mixed with magic, while Kikyo's was cherry blossoms and lily, mixed with magic.

Now knowing the truth, Sesshoumaru once again asked, though in a more polite voice, for Kagome to please take the beads from around his neck. He also apologized for his honest mistake, and assured her it would never happen again.

"NO!" exclaimed Kagome, "I don't know if you would try and kill me again if I take it off you, and I don't quite trust you; but your apology is accepted."

"Then you will come with me until you decide to take the rosary off of me," stated Sesshoumaru, taking a step closer.

"What if I don't want to?" Though Kagome was still frightened, and not nearly as powerful, she knew that he couldn't kill her, or even try, while the beads still hung from his neck.

"Then I will make you," answered the demon as he hit the back of her neck, causing her to faint and collapse into his arms.

By that time, Kaede was furious, and very worried, "What have ye done to her?!"

"She is simply asleep. Do not stop me from taking her, Kaede, or you will die just like Kikyo did after sealing me." He added to his point by flexing his demon claws menacingly. Kaede fell silent, but glared at him in pure hatred all the same.

With that said, a silver substance materialized under his feet. It lifted him a hundred feet into the air, and flew them off to some unknown place.

When Kaede saw that they were out of sight, she returned to her hut, knowing that the demon would not hurt the girl. `Ye have changed a little, Sesshoumaru. Ye seem to have some interest in Kagome, the most powerful miko that exists thus far.'

AN: I had to add an extra effect on the rosary beads to prevent Sesshy from cremating Kagome, so forgive me for that, and Kaede will know a little later that Kagome is from the future, so will Sesshy.
