Reversed Ch 2: New Company and Home

An hour later, Kagome found herself lying over Sesshoumaru's shoulder suspended a hundred feet up in the air. Instantly she began to pound at his back, yelling at him to let her down during the process.

"If you so wish to die then I will let go," commented Sesshoumaru stoically.

Kagome realized that if the dog demon had dropped her, she would have been dead within five minutes, so she stopped her assault.

"Then at least let me off your shoulder. This position isn't easily held with blood rushing to your brains!" retorted Kagome.

Sesshoumaru silently let the girl off his shoulders, settling her in front of him. Kagome sat in front of his feet for a few minutes, trying to retrieve her equilibrium then stood up.

"Where are we going, and when will you let me leave?" asked Kagome roughly.

Seeing that Kagome would never stop bugging him unless he gave her some kind of answer, he replied, "We're going to recruit a few people, and for this Sesshoumaru to let you go, take the rosary off of me, until then you will stay with me."

Kagome being a kind hearted person, and not wanting any innocent people to get hurt, she simply refused him even if it meant for her to stay near the dangerous character twenty four seven.

"Ok, then why are you recruiting people, what the heck is the Crescent Jewel besides it being powerful, and is this Sengoku Jidai?"

"I must gather some people to help me retrieve my position as Western Lord from my half brother. As for the Crescent Jewel, it is a jewel that can grant any wish that is best used by inu youkai; there are other abilities to it that I know not. Yes, this is Sengoku Jidai."

With Kagome's questions sated, the two stayed quiet for another hour then Kagome started to drift into sleep, slowly sagging into the silvery cloud. Sesshoumaru noticed her actions and thought it wise to set up camp for if she fell off his transportation no one would ever be able to take the chains off of him.

He spotted a small clearing located in the middle of a forest. He landed and took Kagome into his arms then conveyed her under a nearby tree, and made a fire to kept watch.

`Inuyasha, this Sesshoumaru is on his way to take you off your throne. You are not fit for being the Western Lord. Be prepared, for, if not, your consequences will be dear.'

When light broke into the dark night sky, Sesshoumaru woke Kagome with a quick jab in the stomach.

"You have rested enough. Now we continue our journey," stated the taiyoukai coldly.

Kagome, being in pain at the moment, did not hear a word he said. "COULDN'T YOU HAVE WAKENED ME WITH AN EASIER METHOD?"

Sesshoumaru didn't say anything, instead, walked to her side then formulated his transportation device. Kagome continued to scowl, but Sesshoumaru paid her no heed.

When mid-afternoon came around the corner, Kagome found herself staring in awe at a wooden fortress within the forest. The huge manor curved around the trees like an elven home while plants of all sorts seem to hang from its walls vibrantly. Carvings of nature laced the wood from top to bottom. Overall, it was the most beautiful thing that Kagome had ever witnessed.

Sesshoumaru landed in front of the fortress, all the while, amused by Kagome's expression of pure excitement.

Just as the cloud disappeared, a figure just about Sesshoumaru's height appeared. He was lean and had short, spiky, stark, white hair. His pale blue eyes blended perfectly with his handsome face as his lips twisted into a wry grin.

He was dressed in a weird fashion according to the people of Sengoku Jidai. His ink hued leather jacket covered his muscled chest as his black cargo like leather pants covered his legs. Dark colored combat boots encased his leather pants while black, fingerless leather gloves encased the mysterious figure's hands.

Sesshoumaru was just about to speak when a female latched onto him.

"SESSHOUMARU-SAMA, I'VE MISSED YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" she asked rather excitedly.

The dog demon pried her off him and kept her at arm's length distance.

Braids above her ears tied to the back of her head kept her lengthy silver hair at bay while her almond shaped grey eyes shined happily on her beautiful face.

She was about Kagome's height and retained the same attire as the man except the jacket was more feminine like, sleeveless, and stopped right at her belly button, accenting her every curve.

"You both are still the same, Yue, Yuki," commented Sesshoumaru.

Kagome was confused beyond thoughts at the two people before her, so she simply stayed beside Sesshoumaru without a sound.

The man motioned the female to his side then replied, "I believe that I have no need to change as well as my sister. You, on the other hand have changed much. Mingling with humans wasn't much of your hobby fifty years ago. Then again, being pinned to a tree by a miko wasn't much like you either," remarked the strangely dressed man.

"The miko was a powerful one. I could not escape. This human beside me, I had to bring for she is the only one who can take the rosary off me," replied Sesshoumaru calmly without a hint of anger.

"Then she must not be a normal human. Come, Yuki, Sesshoumaru- sama…and human," commanded the white haired figure.

They complied and were led to an empty room besides the fact that it contained a low wooden table in the center. The man motioned them to sit as he did the same.

"Yue, you didn't have to be so mean to Sesshy," commented the female, who seemed to be Yuki.

Sesshoumaru gave a deadly glare to the silver haired women then Yue began to speak, "I was simply stating the truth. What brings you here Sesshoumaru-sama, and who is the human?"

"I need your help to overthrow my brother, Inuyasha. As for the human wench, her name is Kagome Higarashi, who is the only one that could free me from the rosary that binds me."

Just as the last word within Sesshoumaru's sentence finished, the word `down' was heard, followed by a thud.

"Don't ever call me a wench again!" shouted Kagome as Sesshoumaru lifted himself off the floor, giving her a death glare during the process.

Both Yue and Yuki stifled a laugh at the sight of a fallen Sesshoumaru by the likes of a simple word.

"I now understand why you want the rosary off of you," stated Yue.

Sesshoumaru growled warningly then introduced Yue and Yuki to his human companion, since they would soon be joining him.

He turned towards Kagome then began to speak, "The male is Yue, a well known elemental demon and the female is Yuki, younger sister of Yue, also a renowned elemental demon.

Kagome nodded understandingly. Sesshoumaru then gave Yue a knowing nod, and Yue asked Yuki to take Kagome to a guest room.

"I trust you have a favor to ask," said Yue after Kagome was out of ear shot.

"Yes, join me on my quest."

"You should not need to ask. You already know that my sister and I will join."

"A loyal friend as always," commented Sesshoumaru.

The nature demon smiled at the simple remark, "Do you wish for me to supply the human spit fire a new outfit as well as a weapon? She will be in constant danger with us. If you wish for her to live in order to take the rosary off, I suggest you teach her how to fight."

"Yes, she needs something suitable for combat and a weapon that is easy to wield as well as conceal. In addition, it will not be I who would teach the human, but you or Yuki. "

"Hn, I have never trained a human before. It should prove to be interesting. I have what she needs. You should rest since we will journey the next daybreak. I trust you don't need to eat," said Yue as he left Sesshoumaru to find his own room.

For the rest of the day, meals were provided for Kagome as Sesshoumaru rested in a room that he, himself, chose. Yuki was busily packing some vital necessities for herself and her brother as Yue went for supplies that belonged to Kagome.

By the time dawn arrived, everyone was up and in the bare room. Yue then opened the package that he had brought with him from his return from the nearby town. Inside were two female kimonos made out of the finest silk, two male kimonos made of the same material, a fighting kimono also made of the same material, and a fan with a blue silk cover as cherry blossoms decorated it.

"The kimono's are for disguises, and the rest are for the human," said Yue as he handed Kagome her items.

"Change into your fighting kimono. Then we will head for the Western Castle," commanded Sesshoumaru towards Kagome.

Kagome complied without a word since she was still half asleep, but was fully awaken when she heard a sharp pitched sound inside her mind emitted by Sesshoumaru. She quickly made for her bed chambers, changed, then headed back into the bare room. A fan was handed to her when she returned by Yuki.

Her hand sagged a bit then she asked, "Why am I given a fan, and why is it so heavy?"

"It's your weapon and I'm gonna train you with it. Also, it's no ordinary fan. It's a steel fan," replied Yuki.

"Enough talking, we will leave now," commanded Sesshoumaru, but not before making sure that the fighting attire suited Kagome.

It was black with silver crescent moons decorating her left shoulder and suited her body perfectly, passing the taiyoukai's critical eye.

Within the next few days of traveling by foot, the group was scarcely attacked and a schedule was established. They would walk west for the majority of the day with Yuki explaining how to use the metal fan. When breaks came, and food was provided, the group would eat then Yuki would show Kagome certain postures and moves that would go with the steel fan. Finally, when night comes, they would sleep with Yuki, Yue, or Sesshoumaru keeping watch, usually Yue and Sesshoumaru.

"Hey, Kagome, how come you aren't afraid of demons?" asked Yuki one day.

"Well, I am frightened of demons, don't get me wrong, but I guess the rosary around Sesshoumaru's neck makes me feel safer and he can't kill me since that's on so there's nothing to be afraid of there. You two are friends or `allies' according to him so if you're his friend then why would I be scared of you. Plus we haven't met much demon yet so I guess I can't be scared of the air, right?" answered Kagome.

"I see, then where do you live? You haven't told us much of yourself," asked Yuki seemingly wanting to get to know Kagome.

The casual question of the Nature Demon struck a chord in Kagome. She suddenly froze in her tracks and horror overcame her face. The group stopped to see what the matter was.

"Oh my god, I have to go home. My mom would be so worried. To top it off I've been gone for days and I've forgotten about home! Please, Sesshoumaru, you have to let me go home for a few days," pleaded Kagome, tears welling around her chocolate colored eyes her eyes.

Sesshoumaru turned around to see the tear stained girl then resumed his position, "No, right now you are to stay with me," stated the demon coldly.

Kagome refused to give up and continued her pleading, but to no avail.

Seeing the girl being turned down so very easily, some unknown affection inside Yue for Kagome began to take over and he asked for Sesshoumaru to take her home.

"When I said no, it stands."

Knowing the exact right trick to make the dog demon comply, Yue strolled up to his left ear then whispered, "Take her home or else she won't ever stop begging. Plus, you don't want your `first' defeat by a petty rat demon to be spreading world wide, would you, Sesshoumaru-sama?"

Sesshoumaru's face perked up as if saying `you wouldn't dare.'

"Fine, I'll take her."

Kagome's face instantly brightened and threw her arms around Sesshoumaru's neck in a tight hug then said, "Thank you, oh, thank you and Yue too."

"Get your filthy hands off me," commanded Sesshoumaru as the ever familiar cloud appeared under his feet.

Soon, the two were up in the sky traveling towards the well as Kagome said her home was in that direction. When they arrived Kagome ran up to the worn out well to jump in, but not before being stopped by Sesshoumaru.

"You mean to tell this Sesshoumaru that your home is located inside this well."

"I don't know, but I suppose it is," replied Kagome. "You can come with me if you want."

Then she jumped inside with Sesshoumaru hot on her trail with curiosity taking over him. Soon the two were engulfed within a sea of pink and comforting light, but it disappeared and landed within the well again just as they were getting used to it.

Kagome sat within the well with her head dropped down in sadness. "It didn't work," she choked in between sobs.

Sesshoumaru thought different. He stood up while dusting off his kimono then took a whiff of the surrounding air. Immediately, human stenches infected his sensitive nose instead of the scent of wild life.

"I believe we have made it to your home. Now stop your senseless tears," stated Sesshoumaru coldly.

Kagome lifted her head as she drowned in happiness, but not for long as she felt arms snaking around her waist then before she could yell, landed in the old well house adjacent to the shrine that she lived in.

"Are you going to see your family or not," mocked the Western Prince.

Kagome snapped out of her reverie then noticed where she was. She quickly ran to the shrine with Sesshoumaru following close behind.

As soon as the demon prince encroach the borderline of the modern wild life and the well house, he could not believe what his eyes had told him. Rectangular metal on top of four wheels whizzed passed him at an incredible speed as metal birds flew over his head, hurting his sensitive ears. Women in improper clothing walked the streets while huts of incredible heights seem to cower above him.

Among his shocking thoughts came a soft voice.

"Sesshoumaru, are you alright," asked Kagome as she stared into Sesshoumaru's emotionless, amber eyes.

"I'm quite fine," he said while some unknown forces in Kagome's eyes seem to make him want to stare at her for all eternity.

"Then follow me," said Kagome as she pulled Sesshoumaru through a bunch of people who was doing a good job at staring at Sesshoumaru for his weird attire and long flowing silver hair.

Within a few minutes the duo successfully arrived in Kagome's living room with her mother, grandfather, and brother all over her.

"Kagome, where have you been for these few days?" asked her worried sick mother.

"Have you been mingling with demons?" inquired her Grandfather putting her granddaughter in freight.

"Kagome, who's this guy behind you," asked Souta while pointing to Sesshoumaru who was currently standing behind Kagome.

"Ah…well…you see…he's a dog demon that I met in Sengoku Jidai which I had arrived in through the well," explained Kagome meekly.

Before she could say anything else ofudas covered Sesshoumaru's whole body.

"Demon, be gone. You shall not harm my granddaughter," shouted Grandfather.

In a quick flash Kagome's Grandpa Seiji was pinned to the wall with a very menacing demon on the verge of killing. `

Kagome's face contorted into a panicking expression then managed to scream, "DOWN!"

A thunderous thud could be heard as the mighty demon's face went close up with the polished floor board as Seiji was released from his murderous grasp, fainting on the way towards the floor.

"DON'T EVER HURT MY GRANDFATHER UNLESS YOU WANT A DISFIGURED FACE, SESSHOUMARU-SAMA!" screamed Kagome as she added sama out of sarcasm all the while sending her family members to the nearest corner for safety's sake.

By then Sesshoumaru was up and away from the floor, tearing the ofudas of his clothing. "I will do as I wish. You do not have such right to command me."

With one final `down', Kagome stalked off to the kitchen to make herself something to fill her hungry stomach.

Sesshoumaru watched Kagome walk away with slight interest. Then he felt somebody tug at his pant leg. He looked down to see the spit fire's younger brother. He quirked an eyebrow as if asking what business he has with him.

"You made Kagome-nee chan mad. Better be careful. Anyway, are you really a demon?" Souta asked.

Sesshoumaru made a mental note of what Souta said then nodded in a positive way as he gazed at a box with people inside, quite curious as to what it is.

Souta noticed the demon's action and took the liberty of showing him around the house upon himself while his mother took care of her fainted father.

As the next three hours passed by, Sesshoumaru found himself intrigued with the box with motion pictures called TV even though it was disgracing to his standards. Souta sat next to him as Seiji still remained within his fainted mind. Kagome is now bathing in her bathroom, washing all the grime that she had accumulated through the five day journey with the dog demon and his two subordinates. Her mother, Saia, is currently busily packing for her daughter's long journey in the Feudal Era for she somehow knows that her daughter must go.

"Kagome, I've packed food, clothes, your text books, and some cooking utensils into your yellow pack. The food and clothes should last for about a week," informed Saia.

"MOM, when did I say I was leaving with that arrogant demon to go back in time five hundred years?"

"You haven't, but I sense that you must go, and that you must help in his mission at hand. It seems to be very important,"

"Yeah, like helping him overthrow his brother is an important mission," muttered Kagome under her breath.

"I am a seer after all. Trust in your mother it is an important mission."

"Yes, mom I'll go. Now can I get a bath without interruptions?"

"Sure honey."

With that said, Saia returned to her room to retrieve some kind of charm to put it inside her daughter's pack as her mind went a hundred miles per hour.

When Kagome finished her comforting bath, she found herself dressed in blue sweats and white tank tops instead of her black fighting kimono which is tucked inside her fifty ton pack along with her steel fan standing at her front door saying goodbye to her family.

"Now be good," was her mother's last command before she headed for the well house.

She and Sesshoumaru jumped down the transporting device and were engulfed once again in the comforting pink light.

Kagome was about to climb out before Sesshoumaru stopped her.

"Why did you not inform me that you were from the future?"

"I didn't think it was important. After all you only want me in your group so I can take off your rosary so my history should not concern you," replied Kagome.

Sesshoumaru took the answer into consideration then took it upon himself to bring both him and Kagome out of the well and to the rest of his group with a simple transition spell.

Seiji sighed as he started to wake after Kagome left. "Her mission with the demon has started."

"Yes, father, she is the key to the whole solution. The demon's half brother's ascend to the throne was not recorded in history. Now Kagome has to help the rightful ruler to return history to its right course," elaborated Saia.

"I just hope she will return safely. Even your power to see the future is not helping, dear daughter," stated Seiji in a concerned manner.

AN: I hope you guys understand the last part of the chapter. Anyway, I don't know when the next chapter will come out so if it's really late, I apologize now.

SNEAK PEEK…

Yue gladly accepted the job. A metal sword hilt studded with a single red jewel in the middle and filled with strange carvings formed within his palm out of thin air. He took hold of what seemed to be his weapon as fire out of no where attach itself to the sword hilt and mold into the shape of a katana.
