CHAPTER 6!!!
It was morning when Rin woke as Sesshomaru moved to yawn and forcedhis eyes open to the hurtful rays of sunlight that peaked through the screen door.
Rin’s back was to the rays, but she could still see them dancing on the walls behind Sesshomaru.
She pulled away and let Sesshomaru sit up, the sheets covering his lap as he leaned on the wall.
Rin sat up with the covers held tightly in her hand, covering her breasts and smiled at him. “Good morning.” She said in a whisper.
Sesshomaru looked at her, “And to you.”
He kissed her lips, “Ready to get up?” she asked
“After a bath.” He said taking her arm and pulling her from the bed.
They both put on robes and left the room with a haste to the bath down the hall.
Sesshomaru called three servants to heat the bath down stairs.
They didn’t even look at them, knowing that Rin was only in a robe.
(They were male demons)
Sesshomaru smiled “We have the marriage set for noon. So I wanted you to have breakfast with me.”
Rin smiled warmly up at him, “That sounds great.
Sesshomaru seemed tense and Rin sensed it, “Lord Sesshomaru? Are you alright?”
Sesshomaru looked over next to him at the young woman he had fallen in love with and smiled “I was just thinking.”
Rin blinked, “Of what if I may ask?”
“Of what would’ve happened if I never met you.” Sesshomaru answered.
Rin didn’t fully understand,
“Would I still have been so vengeful at my brother, would I have ever got over my hate for all humans, would I have found happiness in the eyes of a woman?” he smiledat her, “Would I have survived that wound that you tended to?”
Rin and Sesshomaru bathed together and Rin admited it was better than bathing in a hot spring.
Sesshomaru smiled as he got out and left to dress.
Rin knew full well that Sesshomaru was going to have to be two different people now, and she couldn’t expect him to be both at once.
Lord Sesshomaru, the cold demon lord and strict ruler of the west, and Sesshomaru, her husband and lover.
Rin sighed, she too would have to be two people, the Lady Rin, who was Lord Sesshomaru’s conscience and would aid him in his reign, and his wife.
She sighed as she lifted herself from the warm waters.
As she did, she had to catch herself.
She felt very dizzy from standing after sitting for so long in the warm waters.
Rin shook herself and got out as two maids came in and helped her into a kimono.
It was a light blue with a pink obi and cherry blossom designs all over it.
She smiled as she looked in the mirror that was her height.
She still couldn’t believe this was her.
The necklace Sesshomaru gave her shined in the stray rays of light that come through the window.
She smiled, ‘Whether it was fate or some unseen hand that lead me to Sesshomaru, I’m forever in their dept.’ she thought as she left to go the study, where Sesshomaru was waiting to see her in her newest kimono he had bought for her.
The wedding went well enough, Sesshomaru didn’t show much emotion, but Rin couldn’t help it.
The excitement was making her shake inside.
Just like every other woman with her wedding, she wanted it to be perfect, and she found that so did Sesshomaru.
Some allies and neighboring lords were invited and Rin met many young wives of Lords like her self, though they were mostly demons and a couple half demons.
They didn’t seem to mind the fact of her humanity, as well as her surrogate mother Cat.
They welcomed her with open arms and they were all fast friends.
Sesshomaru sat with the other Lords at the table drinking sake while Rin and the other woman talked over in the ball room.
“So Sesshomaru, why a human?” the lord of the southern lands said.
“Yes, we all want to know how a human charmed you.”
Sesshomaru didn’t answer right away.
Though these were the closest things he had to friends and he thought of them as such, he didn’t know how to answer because it didn’t make sense to him.
He looked over to Rin as her laughter rang out.
All the men looked because of the sound like wind chimes that was so musical she could be mistaken for a song bird.
Sesshomaru smiled, “Because of that laugh, I wanted to be the one to make her laugh.”
No one disagreedwith his words; all the men were taken away by Rin’s lovely laugh and smile.
Sesshomaru smiled as he noticed that, not because he thought it was funny, but because she was his, and only his.
Rin felt Sesshomaru’s gaze and looked over, her hand rested on her chest just below her chin and the silver ring that binded them with the symbol for “Fang” engraved in it shine in the sun light that danced through the open screen door, smiling warmly as if to tell him she lovedhim through her lips.
Sesshomaru couldn’t help the half grin that tugged at his mouth, and tried to hide it behind his sake cup, but let Rin glimpse it before he did.
He remembered he had one last wedding gift for her that he wasn’t able to give her before.
He put down his cup, stood and walked over to her “Rin, I have one last thing to give you before our wedding day ends.”
Rin looked up at him with a smile as he pulled a blue box from his kimono and handed it to her.
Rin looked from the box in her hands to him, then pulled the pink ribbon that held the box closed, opened it to find the necklace Sesshomaru had wanted to give her the day she was attaked, that was also the day he decided Rin would be his mate.
Rin gasped and took the necklace before a lady helped her put it on.
Sesshomaru smiled as Rin smiled and beamed before planting a kiss on his check.
She placed two fingers on her new pendent and the other ladies started crowding around her to admire the piece of priceless jewelry.
The other lords looked at Sesshomaru with happiness in their eyes.
Sesshomaru took his seat again and asked a maid to pour him more sake.
The lord next him took the sake bottle and poured another cup, “You’re going to need it.”
Sesshomaru gave him an evil glare and growled low, but the Lord was one of his most trusted friends.
Takama was the Lord of the Sounthern lands from Sesshomaru’s land.
Sesshomaru looked at Rin; indeed, he couldn’t say he had seen a more beautiful woman in his life.
Rin had changed everything since the day she came into his life.
As the day ended, Sesshomaru was saying good-bye to all of his allies with Rin at his side, bowing as each said good night.
Takama took Rin’s hand and kissed her knuckles, “May you live long and healthy, Lady Rin.” He said.
He shook hands with Sesshomaru and whispered, “She’s a keeper” in his ear before running off.
Sesshomaru sighed as Rin looked up at him, “Lord Sesshomaru? Are you alright?”
Sesshomaru looked at her, “No more Lord Sesshomaru, I am no longer your lord, I am your husband.” He grinned.
Rin smiled and noded “Yes, Sesshomaru.”
He took her hand and lead her to the tea room for some hot tea and sake.
This was part of the wedding routine, to let the newly weds have time alone before nightfall.
She had a sprightly personality. Young in nature, but yet mature.
She was educated personally by Jaken, his obsequious servant, who had an astonishing amount of knowledge in his mind which had even surprised the inuyoukai himself.
How she was able to remain so innocent like she was now no one was sure.
But she was definitely a generous and thoughtful woman, no disagreements there.
She was a woman who was loved by many, Including the great inuyoukai lord himself..
Later thatnight................
He extended his right hand for her, she took it without hesitation before he pulled her close and lifted her chin so that she looked into his eyes.
There he saw an eternal devotion to him and he suddenly felt almost…giddy? that her heart belonged to him and no one else...ever.
They were so close.
All he needed to do was lean down and…“I love you, Sesshoumaru.”
It was the first time she had addressed him without his title.
The thought made him crazy for her.
It made him so happy to hear those words after so long that he just couldn’t suppress the smile that was tugging at his lips, so he figured he could hide it by kissing her.
Their lips met and the passion between them roared to life.
Feeling a little bit more confident than last time, Rin snaked her hands into his silvery mane, deepening the embrace. Sesshoumaru, in turn wrapped his other arm tightly around her waist.
She moaned into his mouth making him growl deep in his throat.
The whites of his eyes turned red behind closed lids.
He tore his lips from her as he traced kisses down her neck to the dip in her shoulder.
Her breath was coming in short gasps as he paused over her.
He could take her as his mate, right now and he was sure she’d only be too happy.
But it would be painful and she didn’t yet understand all the responsibilities that would come with it.
Even though he wanted this, he couldn’t let her make an uninformed decision.
So he explained everything to her and she smiled and agreed.
He picked her up bridal style and heard her heart rate spike considerably.
He tightened the grip and pressed his lips to hers.
She whimpered from the intensity of it, then equaled his passion as his lips ran over hers and his hands roamed her back.
The next thing she remembered, she was on her back and Sesshoumaru was leaning down to give her his mark.
She shivered, but not from fear, as his fangs ran across her creamy skin before piercing it.
She let out a small gasp of pain as he removed them, but it quickly turned to a sigh of ecstasy as he licked the wound.
It felt wonderful to smell himself mingling with his mate.
When he saw the heated look she gave him, he lost control and made love to her right then and there.
It was passionate but gentle.
Afterwards he gathered her into his arms just as she fell into an exhausted sleep.
He felt so complete and he asked himself when had he ever felt this way.
The answer was never.
As he gazed down at Rin, he knew that she was his, predestined and so long as he lived, he would never let anything harm her.
He was going to start a family with her and raise his pups to be strong despite their half-demon disposition.
He kissed her forehead and inwardly smiled as a soft smile lit up her sleeping face.
He layed there with his arm around her, thinking about the life they would share until he too fell asleep, his dreams inhabited by nothing other than his mate: an unlikely human girl named Rin.
THE END
