Chapter 1
I do not own Inuyasha.

Sango sighed and threw a dagger idly into the air, the houshi was up to his usual tricks and her body was doing that silly uncomfortable feeling again. Resting at the base of a giant tree, she caught it and expertely hurled in at the trunk of another. Someone chuckled and an unfamiliar hand attempted to tug it out, and finally after a third, more forceful tug, it slid out and the person chuckled again."That's quite a feat, miss." A man stepped forward with a lazy smile. A smile that was extraordinarily familiar. "I wish I could do that," he added as he passed it back to her. Sango sat up properly and blushed slightly, replying, "Thank you." The man was wearing very familiar robes and carried a similar staff to one of her perverted friends."Are you a monk?" she asked. The man sighed, "Ah, you found me out."He smiled and sat beside her, "The name's Kuro, 'cause people say I was born with a dark nature." He laughed and pointed to his longish, jet black hair and black eyes. "I, however, like to think it's because of my features." Sango smiled and he asked politely, "What's your name, kirei?"She blushed and said softly, "My name's Sango, houshi-sama." Kuro grinned, "Aw, don't give me such a heavy title, Kuro'll do just fine, kirei." Sango sat back slightly, "Then you can call me Sango." Kuro paused and then laughed, "Fair's fair, Sango-chan."He lay down on the grass and studied her face from his point of view on the ground. "You seem troubled, kir--ah, Sango-chan. Care to tell an old monk what's the matter?" Sango's eyes sparkled and she said playfully, "You don't look old, housh--Kuro-san." He yawned, "I guess I'm not nearly as old as I feel." He sat up and raised an eyebrow, "You've got a knack for changing the subject, pretty Sango." Sango looked down and said evasively, "Do I? I'm sorry. I'm just sleepy." Kuro grinned and said, "Not a subject you want to talk about, I understand."He plucked a blade of grass and stuck it in his mouth, "Ah well, I tried." Sango felt bad and said, "It's just my friend acts like a complete idiot everytime he gets near a girl. I wish he'd be more--more..." Kuro tossed in, "More attentive to you?" Sango shook her head vigorously, "No! Just, well--I don't know." Kuro sat back again and said, with his eyes closed, "You love him very much, eh?" Sango froze and turned pale. "What would give you that ridiculous idea?" she whispered. Kuro patted her hand, "Love isn't a bad thing, I've been in love plenty of time. It's fun and painful."He grinned, leaned forward and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Sango looked startled and touched her cheek. "Don't look so glum, chum. There's plenty of time to confess your feelings for him," he encouraged. Sango's face was red and Kuro sweat-dropped. "Ah...sorry about that. I have a problem with kissing people, I just can't help it. Forgive me..." Sango giggled and started laughing, "That--that's so, so..""Weird?" he supplied helpfully."Cute," she finished, still laughing. She stood up and shyly offered him a hand. "Would, would you like to come meet my friend and maybe have some lunch?" she invited. Kuro grinned and replied, "I'd love to. Hey, I'll even snap your boy into shape, I had a great teacher."
