Miroku returned to find Sango gone and Kagome irked. "Miroku, you really have to stop hitting on other girls! It makes San--us, us all uncomfortable," she complained. "Promise me you won't do it, okay?" Miroku looked beyond her and remarked, "My, what a pretty butterfly! Excuse me for a second..." He pretended to chase it over to Inuyasha and sat down beside him. "Hey Inuyasha, why can't you hit on other girls too, that way it won't make me look so damn bad!" Inuyasha snorted and said, "'Cause I only like one girl."
Miroku moved away for a moment and with a teasing smile asked, "Who? Kikyo or Kagome, you two-timer? At least I'm honest to myself, I have a problem, it'll take until hell freezes over for you to admit you like more than one girl in your bed." He jumped up and ran away just as a small vein in Inuyasha's head pulsed and Inuyasha leapt after him. Kagome sighed and looked over to Shippo and Kirara. "Guys are weird," she told them seriously. Shippo nodded empathtically and playfully batted Kirara's fluffy tail.
Inuyasha tackled Miroku to the ground and grinned triumphantly. "You wanna repeat that, monk?" Miroku smiled, "Well, look at the time, I really should be going." He wriggled out from under Inuyasha and ambled over to Kagome. "I still think you're a better choice," he whispered loudly. Shippo looked up and said, "Inuyasha, what are those things on your head? There's three of them." Inuyasha whipped out tetsusaiga and yelled, "Kaze no--"
"Sit boy!"
"Argh!"
Kagome cast a withering glance at Miroku and said, "Don't involve me with Inuyasha when you wanna get him mad." She looked up and spotted Sango walking back in. She smiled and stood up to greet her when a hot stranger popped out behind her. Kagome looked him over appraisingly. The man was tall with dark hair and darker eyes. His face was artistically created, with sensual lips and a perfect nose. He was wearing the same robes Miroku wore and carried a staff not unlike Miroku's, with a silvery sheen and the top shaped like a moon. In his left earlobe was a silver piercing and another one higher up, in the cartilege. He had the physique of a very slender, hot model. Kagome resisted the urge to drool. He grinned and winked at her and Kagome blushed. Where had Sango found him?
Sango caught Kagome eyes and noticed they were fixated on her guest and misted over. She coughed. "Everyone, this is Kuro-san. I invited him to stay for lunch," she said. Kagome shook her head as though to clear it and replied, "That's great, we have more than enough." Miroku locked eyes with Kuro and his eyes narrowed. Kuro smiled and said, "Ah..." very softly. Miroku stood up and asked, "May I have a word, Kuro, privately?" Kuro bowed his head slightly, "Of course, master Miroku." Miroku walked over to Kuro and they walked back into the forest.
Sango and Kagome fell forward and Inuyasha, Shippo and Kirara jumped when an explosion suddenly boomed from where Miroku and Kuro were. Both men walked back in solemnly and sat down next to each other. They looked at each other and their faces cracked into huge, identical grins. "How've you been, my young student?" Miroku asked. Kuro replied with a cheerful, "Ah, I've seen better days, sensei. You're getting old, eh?" Miroku bopped him on the head, "Not quite, but I was younger before, I admit." Everyone stared at them, surprise written on their faces. Miroku coughed and waved a hand at Kuro. "Kuro used to be one of my students," he explained. "One of my very promising students." Kagome raised an unbelieving eyebrow and said, "Really? I didn't even know you were a teacher. What is it, Miroku, that you taught?" Kuro grinned and began with, "Oh that's easy, he was the great master of--" "Ah, just little tidbits of useful information, right Kuro? I should give info like that to Inuyasha," Miroku interrupted, clapping a hand over Kuro's mouth. Kuro looked over at Inuyasha and winked. Miroku removed his hand and Kuro chuckled, "He was very wise and knew much about life."
Kuro smiled his lazy Miroku-like smile at Kagome and winked, "You're a bewitching beauty too," he said flirtatiously. "Just like the lovely Sango." His eyes raked over her clothing, "However, I'm not familiar with what region you're from. The clothing you were is interesting but I've never seen it before. Where are you from?" Kagome's pretty face creased into a small frown of puzzlement. "Well, I don't know how to explain without confusing you," she said, a bit helplessly. Kuro held up an understanding hand, "No need, I wouldn't want to cause you irritation, pretty one. Do you have a name?" She smiled, "How silly! I completely forgot to introduce myself. Name's Kagome, pleased to meet you!" Kuro took her hand and kissed it, "The pleasure is all mine." Sango grinned as Inuyasha suddenly appeared, on top of Kuro's head. "Whoops, guess I didn't see ya there," he remarked airily, climbing off. Kuro brushed himself off, "I see you're taken too." "Too?" repeated Miroku. "Who else is possibly--?" Sango turned red and whirled around, pretending to immersed in lifting Hiraikotsu and cleaning it.
Kuro raised an eyebrow, "Ah...I see. My mistake, I thought surely Miroku-san had already claimed the beautiful Sango-san. I guessed wrong?" Kuro smiled his lazy smile and said, "All the better for me, I suppose." While everyone else tried to grasp what he was saying and while Sango continued to steadily pretend to be busy, Kuro approached behind her and rested his chin on her shoulder, wrapping his arms around her for a split second. He whispered something in her ear which made her blush deepen as he released her. He turned to Miroku with his careless grin and said, "Would you like to visit my home? It's quite close and the hotspring is rather delightful. I'm afraid, I've only one though, so it would be mixed baths..."
Kagome subtly looked at Inuyahs and turned pink, "I--I don't mind," she said. "In fact I'd-I'd love to!" Inuyasha shrugged, but Miroku could see a light blush on his face too. Shippo danced around happily and Kirara snuggled against Sango's shins. Miroku could tell she was nervous, but he also knew she was dying to go. She's been complaining earlier about needing to bathe. "Good idea, Kuro. I think the majority rules here." Sango turned around and held Hiraikotsu in her hand. "I'm not opposed to it myself." She smiled and Kuro motioned them to follow him.
"Sango-chan?"
"Hmm?"
"Why don't you tell him?"
"Wha--what?! Tell who what?"
" Don't be evasive. You love my old sensei, don't you?" Kuro raised his eyebrow. "Don't lie, confess to your good ol' monk." Sango idly tugged Kirara's tail and replied quietly, "I don't know..." She brushed by him and Kirara turned huge. Sango jumped on her back and flew overhead. Kuro sighed again and looked back at Miroku, who had a strange look in his eye. Kuro looked ahead and smirked. Jealousy? Oh my sensei-sama, that's a new one for you... Kuro turned again with a big grin and said, "So sensei, anymore lessons you'd like to teach while we walk?"
