Chapter three, From a party to a bus-station.

InuYasha stopped in front of a door, which had a sticker on it reading, "beware of the dog." Knocking on it, he waited while glancing over to his companion. God, he couldn't get over how good looking she was tonight. His thoughts where cut short, however, when the door flew open presenting a very nicely dressed Miroku. Wearing black dress pants, and a white button-up shirt - he looked ready to make the ladies line up. Kagome had already figured out, they were going to this perverts place, he was InuYasha's best friend after all.

"Hey Kagome! Welcome to the love-shack!" Miroku said, moving aside so they could enter. "Um, thanks," she replied, staying clear of his wandering hands. Well inside, Kagome scanned her surroundings. It was a much smaller apartment, then the one she shared with InuYasha. The kitchen and living room, were connected without as much as a wall. Finding two doors, one in the hallway and the other next to the stove, meaning bathroom and bedroom. She had no clue which, led to what, however.

Following the duo into the livingroom, Miroku offered her to take a seat in the black couch. Sitting she was quickly reminded how hungry she was. InuYasha and Miroku, however, didn't appear to be in much of a hurry - now standing over a computer. "Did you bring the chips?" The dark-haired boy asked, lifting the hard protective plastic off the device before him. "Keh, of course I did." InuYasha stuck a hand inside his left pant-pocket, digging around some before taking it out, holding two small computer chips. "Wow, you're the best Inu, thanks man," Miroku exclaimed, eager to place the things inside his, apparently broken, PC.

"Hey, don't mention it, but can't you mess with that later?" InuYasha paused, pointing at his stomach. "I am so hungry. I could eat a horse."

Kagome closed her eyes, in a silent thank-you-prayer, InuYasha had finally said something intelligent, even though she still thought he was a bone-head. "But my date will be here any moment, can we at least wait for her?" Miroku asked, taking a seat next to Kagome in the couch. Sensing danger, she scooted away from him with a dangerous glare. Miroku started to laugh at her action, rubbing one of his hands over his head. "Don't worry, Kagome, I won't touch you again. You hit worse then any man I've ever had the misfortune to 'fist-talk' with."

Kagome snickered, this Miroku guy wasn't so bad after all. InuYasha, however, was a different story. Speaking of the devil, the white-haired boy now grew impatient, "So where is your date?"

Miroku rubbed the back of his neck, "well you know women, they need time to get ready." InuYasha threw Kagome a genuine smile, which made her mouth go dry. He shouldn't be allowed to smile like that, as it clearly awoke the butterflies in her stomach. "Kagome got ready in ten minutes," he informed a now stunned Miroku. InuYasha's lecherous friend turned to face her, staring like she was an alien or something. "You're not human," he declared - clearly unaware of any woman being able to dress and get ready that fast.

Kagome never heard the comment Miroku was making, her mind was still stunned from InuYasha's previous. Not only had he called her by her first name, but he was actually being nice and had smiled a drop-dead gorgeous smile too.

She needed some distraction, a helping hand to bring her out of her InuYasha clouded mind. As if on Cue, the doorbell went off - successfully knocking her back reality. "Ah, she's here!" Miroku shot out of the couch so fast, InuYasha and Kagome shared a confused look. Almost sprinting down the hallway, he straightened his clothes out before unlocking the door. Both Kagome and InuYasha could hear a dark but feminine voice dance into the living room, where they still sat. They got out of the couch, ready to meet the woman, crazy enough to agree to date Miroku willingly.

Miroku returned into the room moments later, holding the hand of a very pretty girl. She was almost as tall as he, standing around 5'8. Black long, and braided hair were tossed over a slim shoulder. Her soulful brown eyes smiled at the duo in the livingroom. She also, was wearing black leather pants, and boots. A strapless dark blue top, which held some glittering threads in it, completed her very nice outfit. "Hi," she said, a faint blush painted her cheeks. Miroku introduced them all, "that's Kagome," he motioned toward the other female. Then toward his friend, "that's InuYasha, they are roommates." Both Kagome and InuYasha opened their mouths to protest, but Sango beat them to it. "Roommates? How's that possible? I didn't think you could share a room with the opposite sex."

Kagome spoke up, "it was a mistake. It'll be fixed tomorrow," hopefully. Sango formed an 'oh' with her mouth, turning to Miroku once again. "So are we going?" She asked curiously, she herself was ready for some partying. A few seconds later, the four young adults emerged from Miroku's apartment. They waited for the black-haired boy to lock his door, before descending the staircase. Unlike InuYasha and Kagome, he lived on the second floor.

"So Miroku," Kagome said, as they descended the staircase, "where is your dog?" The young man's head shot up, looking rather confused. "What do you mean, Kagome?" InuYasha opened the door, letting everyone exit the building. "Well, the sign on your door . . . " The black-haired boy started to laugh, "Oh that. It was there when I moved in. I guess I thought it was uh . . . cool, so I kept it." Both Sango and Kagome, saw the look passed between InuYasha and Miroku. Neither had a clue, however, what that was all about.

The group chitchatted on the way to the large building, you could rent if you wanted to have a party. It was huge, enough room to host over five hundred students, plus space to still move around. A smoking corner was set up, outside - needless to say they wanted everyone, smokers and none to be able to enjoy themselves.

Resisting the welcome drink in the door, the group moved further in - knowing there was a catering service present. InuYasha, who seemed to know where to go, led them into a room which held several white clothed tables. Each table held traditional dishes, as well American and English. Everything, from fish and chips to fried noodles could be seen, as well salad, bread sticks and a variety of drinks. The line before them, wasn't long at all - to both InuYasha and Kagome's happiness. So they soon came up to the tables, holding a white plate between their fingers. InuYasha dove for the noodles, not caring much for anything else. But as he took the spoon, in his hand, another hand joined his - clearly wanting the same thing. Jerking his head up, and to the side he noticed it was Kagome, who stared wide eyed back.

Their sudden surprise, turned into a glare, however, as neither wanted the other to go first. "Excuse me, princess, but I think I was here first." InuYasha informed, as he tried to yank the spoon toward himself. Kagome's grip tightened, not wanting to give in. "No, I was the first here, and you should be a gentleman and let a lady go first."

"Well, princess, if I see a lady, I'll be glad to let her go first. There is, however, none present!" InuYasha replied sarcastically. Grinning at Kagome's, shocked expression. "How rude!" She exclaimed, dropping her grip on the spoon. InuYasha, who hadn't noticed he was still pulling the thing, let out a startled yelp when she let go and it came flying toward his chest, almost hitting his tee-shirt. His quick reflexes, however, saved him from total humiliation - breaking the fast speed of the object, still in his hand. "Wench!" He barked, glaring at his roommate, with clear daggers in his gaze. "Servers you right!"

Kagome turned her heel, walking to the other side of the table, where she filled her plate - not breaking the scowl from a very angry half-demon.

Sango, and Miroku who had watched the whole thing, exchanged a puzzled look. "Are they always like this?" Sango asked, while putting some salad on her plate. "I wouldn't know, they've only known each other for twenty-four hours," Miroku explained. "What? They act like an old married couple!" Sango was stunned, to say the least. InuYasha and Kagome, could so easily be mistaken for a really dating couple, 'they are like yin and yang, their complete opposite.' She shrugged, knowing she'd have fun watching the duo as the night went on.

Taking a seat, at one of the round tables nearby, a silence fell among the four adults as they ate. Much to Miroku's dismay, Kagome took a seat next to Sango - hogging what was meant to be his spot. Forcing him to sit near his, still very ticked off, friend. Miroku sighed, it wasn't meant to be like this, not now when he finally found someone like Sango. A small plan, however, started to form in his head - he needed to get rid of InuYasha and Kagome, somehow.

The room, where the four sat quickly filled, many students who had arrived late came to get some food, before heading off to drink themselves, senseless. Kagome, who had just finished eating, and now sat small talking with Sango, could feel a pair of eyes on her. Turning, discreetly, she glanced over her shoulder trying to find who was giving her the eye. Her orbs, shoots wide open when she found the source, a demon - of all things. His gaze, crystal blue and very captivating, enhanced by his jet-black long hair, which hung free over his shoulders. Dressed in dark brown pants, and a white shirt. She gave him a confused look, before turning her attention back to Sango - who was now talking to Miroku.

Clearly, the demon must have been looking at someone else - Kagome knew demons and humans didn't mix. That was something she'd been told she was a small child, but she never really understood it. She always had thought it was racist to look down on the offspring, between the two. For Kagome, everyone was unique and special in their own way, human, demon or half-demon - it didn't matter.

Miroku, who was now busy buttering a blushing Sango, was slowly building up courage to move her away from Kagome and InuYasha. He wanted her alone, needing to get to know her in more ways than one. A sudden window of opportunity presented itself, when a tall black-haired guy came up to their table, giving Kagome a flashing grin.

InuYasha, who had been sitting silent, observing, his surroundings quickly adverted, his golden gaze to the young man who'd approached their table. 'Shit,' he cursed inwardly, knowing exactly who he was. Kouga was the son of a man who owned the rival company, to the one that was owned by his brother. And, needless to say, he was nothing more then trouble. "What do you want, wimp?" InuYasha growled, making a move to stand. Kouga, who had been to busy drinking in the presence of Kagome, now turned to face the pissed of dog demon. "Well, well isn't it Mr. Dog-breath? What are you doing here?" Kouga had no idea InuYasha was a half-demon, thinking - since Sesshoumaru was one - that InuYasha also was a full-fledged youkai, as well. Kagome noticed the daggers shot between the two, and quickly moved to sit closer to Sango - who she now noticed was missing!

Miroku dragged a wide-eyed girl across the room, looking for a spot to sit and get more up-close-and-personal in. Sango, who had seen Kouga and InuYasha lovely greeting, was scared to leave Kagome there alone. But Miroku had whispered, saying she could take care of herself, she was a big girl. She had agreed to go, but still felt bad leaving poor Kagome behind. Taking a seat, close, to the speakers, which had very loud music poring out them. Sango quickly noticed his very transparent attempt to be sly, as she needed to lean in really close, to even attempt to hear what he was saying. But she didn't mind, Sango actually liked Miroku - he was sweet, caring and made her laugh. She could, however, live without his groping - which she secretly hoped he saved only for her.

Kagome who was now sitting stranded, at the small table looked for a way to escape. Kouga and InuYasha were going at it, clearly despising each other. The only way she actually knew what the other guys name was, was when someone walked by and greeted him, on their way to the drink fountain. She could use something to drink - since the fight between the demon duo had no peace in sight. "So, did daddy pay for you to come here? You're way too stupid to attend on your own record!" She heard InuYasha say, grinning like he had just landed a well-aimed comment. To her surprise, Kouga took it very personal, fuming and ready to kill. "Hah, you should talk. You're not the poorest kid on the block, I bet Sesshoumaru had to pay a pretty penny to make them accept you here." This is where Kagome, got up and left the duo to them selves. She was sick of people fighting, over money, over anything! Easing her way through the crowed, Kagome quickly reached the free bar.

"What will it be?" A young feminine voice caught her attention. The bartender, a pretty fair-haired girl stood in front of her. "I'd love some whiskey," Kagome joked, "but I'll settle for a coke, thanks." The blond on the other side of the counter, giggled - reaching for a glass which she filled with the dark sweet soda. Taking it, Kagome drank greedily, wishing it was something more intoxicating - this party was turning out to be something out of a nightmare. Not only had Sango disappeared, she guessed with Miroku. But now InuYasha, the only person she knew, was busy tongue lashing with some demon. A demon, she might add, who was giving her the creeps. 'Why is it,' she thought, as she now sipped the last of her soda through a straw, 'every cute guy, turns out to be an arrogant, self-centered fool?'

Kagome Higurashi, was having the worst time of her life. Twisting in her barstool, she could only hope she didn't waste her summer coming here two months too early.

InuYasha, who was so busy barking at Kouga, didn't even notice his friends' absence until the wimpy wolf got called away, leaving with a glare. Taking a seat at the table, he turned only to see it completely empty. Growling low, InuYasha shot to his feet scanning the area for his so-called friends. Not spotting any of them, he moved out of the room and into the one with a dance floor. Music pored out of the speakers, and people danced around him as he walked across the room, looking for Miroku. Then suddenly he stopped, for right there, in front of him; sat his best friend, cuddling with what appeared to be Sango. But if Sango and Miroku were there, where was Kagome?

Deciding not to go up and break the happy couple, apart. InuYasha walked back into the room he'd just emerged from. She had to be somewhere, not that he really cared; where - just knowing, she would provide him with some entertainment. Taking his time, he soon saw her - sitting alone, and looking downright miserable. So much, in fact, InuYasha felt bad fighting with Kouga and not with her. At least she'd be doing something, not forced to sit alone and abandoned. He didn't hesitate, as he moved across the floor closer to his roommate. Reaching her, he leaned his back heavily against the bar counter, with his arms crossed over his chest.

"What do you want?" He heard her ask, clearly not in the mood to talk to him any more tonight. "Keh, princess, you looked so lonely I decided to come, and keep you company." Kagome's head shot up, piercing him with her almond-colored orbs. To his surprise, she smiled. "Thanks, I was kind of giving up on this party." He returned her soul-melting smile, with one of his own. "Well, you know there isn't really a party until you dance." He motioned toward the door, leading to the dance floor. "Do you dance?" She asked curiously, fiddling with a red and white straw in her hand. InuYasha noticed her nervous scent, serving only to make him also a bit insecure. "I do . . . sometimes," he confessed, after a slight pause. "So do you want to?" Her question may have came out as a whisper, but he'd heard it loud and clear. He was shocked to find himself, nodding to her and actually taking her hand in his.

It was like an outer-body experience, nothing else could subscribe InuYasha's actions. Not only did he take her hand, but when they entered the room - where the music was being played - he found himself wishing they would play a slow song. And, as if Fate herself had a finger in the game, the speed of the beat changed - slowly sinking and blending with a love ballad. Kagome, couldn't breathe when InuYasha pulled her into his strong arms, encircling her small shoulders. Her head was swimming with emotions, she didn't know what to feel or think, for that matter. When she felt his chin rest on her head, she gave in and relaxed, hugging his waist as she sank into his warm welcome body.

InuYasha was surprised how well she fit in his arms, like a hand its right sized glove. She was so perfect, warm and soft he tried hard not to bend down and kiss her. He'd only known her for twenty-four hours, yet it felt as if he'd known her for years. There was just something about her, something that called for him to meet her halfway. But it could just be an illusion, in his lust-stated mind. He wanted her, he couldn't deny that. But in what way? And what did she feel about him?

His girlfriend, clearly forgotten, as they danced not only one but three songs together - neither ready to let the other go. When the beat speed up, the duo broke apart - slowly.

They both avoided, the others eyes, feeling their cheeks build up a steady blush.

However, the two didn't have time to debate, what had just transpired between them, as a firm hand was place on both their shoulders. Turning, they saw a grinning Miroku, and a confused Sango. "So, I see you two, are having fun," the black-haired boy drawled, earning a scowl from the duo in front of him, previous embarrassment now forgotten. "But I hate to break this happy moment up," he turned to look at InuYasha, "Rin called. She said she's been trying to get hold of you the whole night." InuYasha's eyes widened, "what? But I have my . . . " he placed his hands in his pant pockets, only to find his apartment key and nothing else. "I must have left the cell at home," he said slowly, trying to remember why exactly he'd left it there.

His thoughts where cut short, when Miroku continued. "She's at the bus-station, Inu, she won't even tell me what has happened. Only that she needed to talk to you." InuYasha frowned, "I wonder about what . . . " His brothers' mate was like his sister, or better explained as his best friend - next to Miroku. Rin and he had always shared a special bond. She was the only one, next to his perverted friend, whom he ever talked too. He could call her in the middle of the night, and she still found time and energy to comfort him, or just listen.

"Well let's go pick her up then," InuYasha said, moving toward the exit. Kagome, Sango and Miroku followed, all glad to have an excuse to leave. Once outside, the four adults stopped. "So, do you two, want to come with us?" Miroku turned toward the females, in their party. Sango, who wasn't ready to call it a night, nodded. Kagome, didn't know what to say. So she, in turn, nodded as well. "Great!" the black-haired boy exclaimed, hooking arms with his date.

They continued walking back to InuYasha's, and Kagome's apartment. The hanyou had growled out he needed his car-keys and phone, when Miroku had asked why the need to return there. Well inside their place, the young adults went for their belongings. Kagome snatched her purse from her bed, and noticed her still going laptop. Remembering she had a problem with it, she asked Miroku - as they exit the building - if he could come over and fix it for her, when she was all moved and stuff. Much to her happiness, Miroku agreed, saying it would be his pleasure helping her.

InuYasha rolled his eyes at his friends fake charm. It somehow always backfired on him, as he couldn't keep his lecherous hands to himself. But now he had Sango, 'maybe, just maybe he won't go back to his perverted ways, InuYasha hoped, as he stuck the key into his 2003, Mercedes-Benz, S-class. It was dark ruby red, his favorite color - it had been a birthday gift from his brother. He smirked, when he heard Sango and Kagome's gasps - clearly impressed with his expensive vehicle. "Sweet, isn't it?" Miroku asked, as he took a seat next to Sango in the backseat. His date nodded, "yeah, nice ride InuYasha."

"Thanks," the white-haired boy nodded in the rearview mirror, smiling at her reflection.

Kagome, who had taken a seat next to him, in the passenger seat inhaled deep. It smelt of leather and InuYasha's own unique scent - making her believe he'd spent a huge amount of time in this car. Her head was still, somewhat dazed over from the dances they'd shared.

How someone, she'd known for such a short amount of time, could make her all giddy inside - was beyond her comprehension. Although, she knew he had a girlfriend she couldn't shake the feelings he stirred deep inside. Kagome really didn't know if she liked or hated him, she guessed it was a lovely mix of both, however.

InuYasha started the car, and pulled out of the parking lot. It was dark outside, as the night had passed 10 o'clock. InuYasha focused on the road ahead, knowing perfectly well Miroku was now necking his date in the backseat. Kagome shifted in the seat next to his, clearly bothered with the slurping sounds coming from behind them. He bet a high penny on that she wished she'd never tagged along now. He was about to say something, when she beat him to it - making him blink in surprise. "InuYasha, who was that guy you argued with tonight?"

"Kouga?" He saw her faint nod, making him wince. He really hoped she wasn't interested in that wimp, he was just a horny-no-good wolf demon. "Why do you ask?" He asked instead. "Well," she fiddled with the necklace around her slender neck, "he was a demon, right?" InuYasha nodded, still with his eyes on the road. "A wolf demon, to be exact."

"Oh," Kagome said, pushing her black curls over her shoulder. "I could have sworn he was eyeing me before he came to the table," she explained, to his earlier question. "I was always told humans and demons don't mix." InuYasha didn't know what to say, he knew all to well about the consequences of such a union. Instead he shrugged, saying "whatever, Kouga is a no good horny ass-hole." Kagome shuddered, "I didn't like the guy anyway, he gave me creepy vibes." InuYasha chuckled softly at her comment, "that makes two of us, Kagome."

For the first time, since they met - the roommates were actually having a normal conversation. They quickly found out that they both held a passion for horror movies. "I am not a chicken-shit," Kagome declared, as InuYasha had dropped a comment about women and scary movies didn't go hand-in-hand. "I usually watch them alone." InuYasha smiled, "really? Me too. My girlfriend . . . " he paused, he had totally forgot about Kikyou. "What about your girlfriend?" He heard Kagome ask, trying to sound interested but failed miserably. InuYasha's heart jumped, did this mean something? If it did, then what? Shaking his head, he mumbled "she doesn't like them."

Kagome formed an 'oh,' with her deep-pink lips. Silence fell between the duo, as InuYasha kept his eyes' on the road and Kagome felt very confused. One moment she hated him, the next she liked him enough to actually get jealous when he talked about his girlfriend. Why was life so complicated? Or her life . . .

She glanced out the window, trying to forget her thoughts and focus on the neighborhood they were now passing through. When InuYasha slowed-down for a speed bump, Kagome noticed a lot of people outside a house. The faint sound of music reached her ears, and she guessed it must be a party going on. InuYasha also noticed the crowed, but he frowned as a faint smell of blood, seeped through his vent system. Tickling his delicate nose. He shook his head, thinking it must be his imagination.

When InuYasha once again picked up speed, pressing lightly on the gas pedal, his frown deepened as the morbid smell got stronger. He was about to say something, when his headlight's caught something up the street. His golden eyes widened, and Kagome screamed when the image of a small child - staring wide-eyed back. He was soaked in blood, as clear cuts went over his cheeks, arms and ripped open kneecaps. He wasn't wearing anything but an oversized shirt, which was red with the sticky substance. Miroku and Sango, yanked their heads in between the two front seats when InuYasha slammed on the breaks. "W-what is going . . . " Miroku trailed off when he saw the small boy, standing rooted on the sidewalk. Sango slapped her hand over her mouth, to prevent the startled scream to escape her lips. "Holy shit . . . "

InuYasha eased out of his car, while Kagome frantically dialed the emergency number. She was shaking all over, when she tried to tell the operator of their whereabouts.

InuYasha, in turn, approached the child with caution. He was surprised to see it was a demon, as the closer he got the more details he could see. The little kid had fangs, which he was now baring toward the approaching hanyou. InuYasha frowned when he noticed how someone had cut the little demon's claws. And in the process almost cut off his small fingers, as deep cuts went clear over his knuckles. "Hey," he said softly, kneeling down - deciding it would be best to stay in a safe distance. The little demon hissed, while scowling threateningly with his deep green eyes. "Don't be scared," InuYasha coaxed, not sure what to say.

He knew Kagome had called for help, and he was sure they would come soon. Until then, he needed to keep this little animal from running away, he needed to get stitched up before bleeding to death. The shirt the little kid was wearing, appeared to be that of a grown male and not that of a small child. He had no other clothing, nor shoes. His hair was brown-red and cut short, InuYasha guessed with a sharp knife as it appeared to have scalped him in some places. He was shocked the kid was still standing, in the condition he was in.

Picking up the sound of sirens, InuYasha relaxed. The kid in front of him, however, tensed - sensing danger approaching. "It's okay, they are going to help you," InuYasha growled out, surprising the child into a staring state. "You . . . demon?" The hanyou nodded, at the squeaked out question. "I am a dog, what are you?" The beat up pup gulped visibly, before whimpering "fox."

InuYasha was about to ask what his name was, and who had done this to him when the ambulance rounded the corner, tightly followed by three cop cars. The emergency personal jumped out of their cars, and came rushing toward them. InuYasha thanked the Gods when he saw there were at least three demons among them, knowing this little fox pup would be safe going with them. Kagome, Sango and Miroku - had exited his car, and came up behind him, as they watched the uniformed workers helped the shaking little boy up on the ambulance bed.

Two police officers approached the four, as they saw the ambulance race off to the closest hospital. One of the officers, were holding a notepad and the other a walkie-talkie. "So what exactly happened here?" The tallest cop asked them. InuYasha told them what they had seen, which wasn't much.

The police officer with the note pad, kept taking notes as Kagome told them about the party down the street, it would be worth checking out.

"Is he . . . going to be okay?" InuYasha asked, before the unformed men returned to their car. "Yeah, I am sure the kid will be just fine," the man who had questioned them, assured. "You folks should return home now, it's getting late." The four nodded, moving to continue their drive. They still needed to pick up Rin, but right now neither said a word as they strapped themselves in - clearly bothered by the obvious child abuse.

Thirty minutes later, InuYasha pulled up next to the bus-station. "Stay here," he instructed the rest as he moved out of his car, crossing the street and entered the tall building. The large clock on the station wall showed it was 30 minutes passed midnight. Kagome stifled a yawn, she usually was in bed by this hour. She had never really been a night-owl, unless she was forced to.

"Kagome," she heard Sango say behind her, gaining her attention. Turning she saw the young woman smile at her, "if you don't mind . . . would you sleep at my place tonight?" Kagome lifted a fine brow, surprised by the request. "I don't want to be alone . . . you know? And my roommate hasn't arrived yet," the other girl explained. Kagome smiled weakly, she herself didn't want to be alone on a night like this either, the horror image from before still fresh in her mind.

"Yeah, sure," She agreed, earning a thanks from her new friend. "But, you could sleep at my place," Miroku butted in, only to be rewarded by a smack on his head. "Pervert," Sango hissed - but her eyes glinted with amusement. "My dear Sango, I welcome the pain as long as it comes from your lovely hands." The girls giggled, and rolled their eyes at the cheesy comment. "Really, Miroku you need a new line," Kagome said as she unbuckled herself. Opening the door, she moved to take a seat in the backseat, so Rin could sit next to InuYasha.

As soon as she had strapped herself in next to Sango, InuYasha and a lovely brunette came out of the bus station and crossed the street to the car. Opening the door, InuYasha helped Rin in before going to his side and slid inside. Rin turned and faced the trio in the backseat with a smile that reminded Kagome of a small child. It held innocent and curiosity, but her eyes spoke a different tale. She somehow appeared sad, and exhausted. "Hey Miroku," she greeted the dark-haired boy, returning the hug he gave her - leaning in between the two front seats. "Good to see you again, Rin, this is Sango and that's Kagome."

The girls were introduced, sharing a polite handshake. "So which one of you is this idiot's roommate?" Rin joked, ruffling InuYasha's silver strands like he was a kid. Kagome giggled, raising her hand. "That would be me," she confessed. InuYasha, who didn't seem to mind the joking gesture, put his key into the ignition. "She isn't my roommate," he growled, starting his car for the long journey home. "Oh, that's right. You're moving?" Rin continued to question Kagome as they drove, finding her a very interesting girl.

"It's to bad we're not going to have any time to really talk," she said, after Kagome had revealed she was staying at Sango's, that night.

Kagome nodded, Rin was someone she could see herself becoming friends with, if it wasn't for the whole 'she's moving out tomorrow.'

It was close to two a.m., when the crew finally got back to the apartment-complex. Sango waited outside, while Kagome went in for a change of clothes, her sleeping wear and toothbrush. Miroku stayed with her, as the others said good night. "I'd really like to see you again," he whispered into her hair, as they embraced each other while waiting. "I'd like to see you too," Sango confessed, smiling against his chest. "So, what are you doing every day for the rest of this week?" His question made her laugh, if she didn't watch out she'd fall in love with him. Even though she had a feeling it was a little too late to start thinking like that.

"Tomorrow, I am sure I'll be with Kagome. But after that, I should be free. Why? Did you have something in mind?" Miroku bent down, giving her a chaste kiss. "Maybe . . . " He whispered, against her lips. Sango giggled, shooting up on her toes, crushing her lips against his. "Damn, I love a woman in control," he groaned, feeling her tongue against his lips. "Shut up and kiss me." Miroku didn't need to be told twice, opening his mouth to let her in.

However, the couple quickly pulled apart when an "ahem" was heard close by. Turning, they both saw a blushing Kagome, who felt bad for breaking them apart. She had changed clothes, and was now dressed in black Nike pants and jacket. Her black boots, exchanged to white sneakers, with pink stripes and matching shoelaces. A yellow backpack was slung over her shoulder, and her hair up in a messy bun. "Ready to go?" Sango snickered, seeing her new friend looked everywhere but directly at them. Kagome nodded, and the trio started walking.

They said goodbye to Miroku, who soon turned to walk to his apartment, which was the house next to Sango's. Not before long, Kagome found herself in a large, high-roofed, apartment. "Wow," she gasped, as she was given the grand tour. There were two large bedrooms, and two bathrooms. Each holding a large garden-tub, and shower. The kitchen, was jaw-droopingly gorgeous, with frosted glass cabinets. Sango had really had the time to put her personal touch on the place, for there were small lamps and rugs everywhere. Making the huge space very homey and charming. "You're so lucky," Kagome said, as they crawled into Sango's huge king-sized bed. "It gets lonely though," the girl next to her replied. "Yea, I can see that."

Their conversation wasn't long, as both were incredibly sleepy. Saying their goodnights, the girls quickly fell asleep, feeling safe in the others company. Little did they know, the morning would bring more then one shocking surprise.
