Chapter Two

Rin's POV

I don't choose to be lonely, you know. I was thinking about all the reasons I didn't have any real friends while I looked out the window of the plane. The big blue greeen ocean greets my eyesight. I sighed as I leaned back in my chair. I dreaded the next day. Tomorrow will bring a new life, a new home, and a new school. I really don't hope to make any real friends. Everytime, I just isolated myself. Not on purpose of course but because I was so different than the other students.

Suddenly, I felt my little sister tug on my arm which brought me from my thoughts. I turned and looked at her. Her face wall full of curiousity. "Bigger sister, are you sad?"

I stared at her. How was it that little kids always knew how a person was feeling? Nothing I could think of could explain it. She tugged on my arm, impatient for my answer to her question. I smiled for her and embraced her. I have no clue why but I just did. Kari hugged me back, laughing. We parted after a while and I patted her head. "I'm fine. Don't worry about it."

"Okay!" She happily said then she sturned and went back to bugging my parents.

Time Lapse

Hours later, the plane landed at the Tokyo airport. I didn't know what it was called but it really didn't matter. We walked off the plane then gathered our luggage while my dad went to go rent a car. We were soon home in our new house. Our stuff wouldn't arrive until tomorrow so we had to make due with what we had brought on the plane with us.

I went into my room and surprisingly I found a futon in the closet. I just guessed that there was a futon in every bedroom. It must come with a new house or something to welcome the family. I had no clue but I wasn't really thinking about it. I set out the futon then turned off the lights and laid down. I tried to sleep but all these random thoughts ran through my head. Was this new life Japan going to be like the ones I've had in other place I've lived in? What will I find here? Was I actually going to make any friends? After a while, I finally drifted off into a fitful sleep.
