Chapter 9: Hikari’s want, Kagome’s fright, and Sesshomaru’s anger
(Sounds like a good one, ne?)
The next morning, Kagome woke up early and decided she would take a walk around the outer gates of the castle. It took a while to convince the guards that she would be fine without protection, which took a while, but after that she walked towards the forest.
Hikari had awoken to the sound of the door across from him being shut and someone walking down the hall. He took in a deep breath and smelt Kagome. ‘She’s alone.’ He thought, getting up and dressed to follow Kagome to wherever she seemed to be going.
He wasn’t sure what it was about her, but he wanted her. He’d never heard of a woman as brave as she before, and wasn’t about to risk losing her to the world’s biggest ass. There was no way.
Whenever she was near he would find himself engulfed in her scent, seemingly oblivious to everything around him but her. She was beautiful, strong, brave, and caring to those around her, and he wanted to be the one to receive the best care of all.
He dreamt about waking up next to her, he usually had dreams like that where the women with him had Kagome’s traits, but no face. And since he met Kagome, that strange woman had a face, and it was none other then Kagome’s.
It was proof that they were supposed to be together, they were perfect for each other, he seemed to think. But Sesshomaru was going to have to stop getting in the way before he messed everything up.
Kagome was walking through the woods, humming peacefully as she admired everything around her. It was so beautigul here in the forest. The tall green trees swayed in the wind while the birds in them sang the sweetest tunes.
It was a nice day, not too hot, but warm enough to go frolicking about in shorts and a tank top. ‘Too bad I can’t get home.’ Kagome sighed before tripping on something, and falling right on her but.
“Just great.” She said, standing up and turning around to see what it was she tripped on. Kagome scowled at the offending branch and started to head back to the castle. If she was too late, Sesshomaru would get mad at her for missing their training session. ‘Don’t want that.’ She sighed and quickened her pace.
Hikari left easily jumping over the gates, he followed the wonderful scent to the beauty named Kagome. It seemed to come from the forest, so that’s where he went.
He ran about a half a mile before seeing her coming towards him, obviously coming back already from her trip. He hid behind a tree, waiting for her to reach where he was. Once he could hear her footsteps stop, he came out from behind the tree and saw the relief in her eyes.
“Whoa, I sensed a demon, and well, I didn’t know it was you. You really scared me.” She said. Hikari merely nodded and asked her what she was doing out so early and if she would like to join him on a walk.
Kagome politely declined the offer, telling him that she needed to find Sesshomaru so that he doesn’t get upset with her for keeping him waiting. Hikari merely grabbed her roughly by the arm and pulled her towards the way he was going.
“Nonsense.” He said. “Spend some time with me, I haven’t even gotten to have a chance to get to know you yet.” Kagome tried to pull her arm from his grasp, but he just held it tighter. Kagome let out a shriek and followed him deeper in to the woods.
They reached a small clearing, completely surrounded by trees. Hikari threw Kagome to the ground and looked to her, his eyes glazed over crimson with lust. He flashed her an evil smile and walked towards her.
Kagome tried to back up, straight in to a tree. She listened to him chuckle and took in a deep breath before closing her eyes and snapping them back open. He smelled normal, aside from the muskiness in his scent, clearly indicating that he was in heat.
He came closer to her, and got down on his knees, cupping her cheek and forcing her to look at him. She had tears streaking down her face from her tightly closed eyes, which seemed to further entice the young youkai lord.
He ran his fingers over her soft skin, pushing her hair behind her ear. Kagome whimpered, wishing that Sesshomaru were here to save her. She felt hot breath on her lips that moved along her cheek and to her ear. He nipped at her earlobe, then, moving do her neck, he licked it softly when----
An angry growl reverberated through the forest and Hikari was on his back on the ground. The once trembling Kagome found herself safe in Sesshomaru’s arms. She wrapped her arms around his neck and cried softly in to his haori, feeling his arms tighten around her.
Just then, Yamamato and Mizuko arrived and lifted Hikari, taking him back to the castle.
Sesshomaru woke up this morning, and went to check on Kagome, only to find her not in her room. In turn, he found Hikari’s door open and began to ask around if anyone had seen wither of the two missing youkai. In the end they all came to the conclusion that the two were together and looked for them until they caught their scents in the forest.
That’s how it ended up this way. Once Sesshomaru got his hands on that no good bastard, he would kill him. No one touched what was his, and Kagome was no different. He lifted her in to his arms and flew back to the castle, thinking of brilliant things he could do to torture Hikari.
Once they reached the castle, Rin was eating breakfast with Jaken. They both saw the state of anger their lord was and decided not to bother him, especially since it looked like it had t do with Kagome. Whoever angered him would not get away so easily.
Sesshomaru walked in to Kagome’s room and lay down next to her on her bed, pulling her close he stroked her hair softly. Kagome’s tears ceased as she leaned in to him.
“I was so scared.” She whispered. “I know. I am sorry I was not there to protect you.” Sesshomaru said, feeling guilty himself. “We will begin training tomorrow morning, for real this time.” He said. “And from now on, you will not sleep alone.” Sesshomaru felt her nod in to his haori just before she let sleep claim her.
Kagome awoke mid afternoon and felt Sesshomaru’s body next to hers, remembering the day’s earlier details, she tightened her arms around him. He seemed to wake at this, asking her what was wrong. She simply stated nothing and decided that they’d need to get something to eat.
Sesshomaru complied and got out of bed, grabbing Kagome’s hand, he walked out of the room and down the hall. Once they entered the dining area, they had a seat with Sakuya and Mizuko who were eating as well.
“Where is he?” Sesshomaru immediately questioned, ice dripping from his voice. ‘He is taking a stroll.” He simply stated.
“He won’t be able to stand when I’m through with him.”
“Sesshomaru, he was in heat.”
“He sould learn self control as I have, practice not being so animalistic.” Sesshomaru barked out, then noticed kagome squeezing his hand and smelt her tears. ‘She is still greatly upset about that.’ He thoughy. Yes, he would have a lot of fun teaching Hikari a lesson.
