Re-United

He jumped over to the bed and held her in his arms. He noticed the mark was gone. "I'm sorry I didn't make it in time." Inuyasha whispered. A single tear fell from his face as he kissed her on the lips one last time.

Inuyasha pulled back and tried to hold back the tears that threatened to fall. Then he noticed Kagome's body glowing a bright blue. Miroku and Sango gasped as Kagome's eyes opened.

Kagome looked around and saw Inuyasha. She put her hand on his cheek. "Why are you crying?" She asked. When she started glowing he couldn't prevent the tears from falling.

"You're alive." Inuyasha said. "You're alive!" He held her and covered her face in kisses.

"Did I die?" Kagome asked.

"We thought you did." Sango said kneeling down next to her.

"What happened Kagome?" Miroku asked.

"I can explain that."

Everyone looked to the door. It was Kikyo. "Who are you?" Kagome asked.

"Kikyo." Inuyasha, Miroku, and Sango whispered.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Inuyasha asked preparing himself for an attack.

"I'm not going to hurt you. Naraku is dead so I no longer have to do his work. I was being blackmailed." Kikyo said. She walked closer. "What the miko did was put herself into a deep sleep. It appears as if she was dead."

"How did she wake up?" Sango asked.

"The only way she can wake is if her soul recognizes its mate." Kikyo said.

"How is that possible?" Miroku asked. He'd never heard of mikos that could do such a thing.

"Hundreds of years ago mikos guarded jewels with incredible power. It was hidden within their bodies. They put themselves to sleep if they had no other ways of protecting it." Kikyo explained.

"What happens if the mate never comes along?" Inuyasha asked.

"Then the miko dies." Kikyo said.

"WHAT?" Inuyasha yelled. He looked at Kagome. "How could you have done something so dangerous? What if I didn't wake you up?"

"I didn't know." Kagome said.

"She must've done it without realizing it." Miroku said.

"Hai, her soul refused to be disloyal to you." Kikyo said. "Whether it was voluntary or not. Now that I'm done explaining, I'll leave. I'm sorry for any problems I have caused."

Everyone watched Kikyo leave. Inuyasha opened his mouth to yell at Kagome but was stopped. Kagome covered his mouth. "Before you say anything, can we get out of here? It's kind of creepy." Kagome said.

Inuyasha nodded. He picked her up and they all left. "Damn." Inuyasha yelled.

"What?" Kagome asked.

"We're going to have to walk pretty far." Inuyasha said.

"Like it will kill you." Sango said.

"What are we going to do with Naraku?" Miroku asked.

They all exchanged looks. "RUN!" They all shouted.

Everyone was now sitting in Sesshomaru's office. They were explaining what happened. "You couldn't have helped either you asshole." Inuyasha yelled.

"It was your fight Inuyasha." Sesshomaru said. "Had I done anything, then you wouldn't know how to take care of your mate in the future."

"I know how to take care of her." Inuyasha said holding Kagome. They were sitting on the couch next to Sesshomaru's desk. Miroku and Sango were standing if front of it.

"Then you wouldn't have needed my help anyway." Sesshomaru said.

Inuyasha growled. He was mad that he'd proven him wrong. He stopped when Kagome hit him. "Don't growl at him. He still helped us out a lot." Kagome said.

"That reminds me, Shippo wanted us to meet him at his aunt's house." Miroku said.

"When did he want us to be there?" Kagome asked.

"Seven." Miroku said.

Sango hit him on the back of the head. "Seven today?" He nodded. "Baka! Why didn't you say something earlier?"

"It slipped my mind." Miroku said rubbing his head. "I had already told him what happened."

"We have to leave now if we want to meet him there on time." Kagome said.

"Even if we leave now we'll be late." Inuyasha said. "It's six fifty."

"I'll call him and tell him that we'll be a little late." Miroku said.

"Tell him it's your fault." Sango said.

"Hai, hai." Miroku said.

They all got to Shippo's house and knocked on the door. "Hey guys." He said. "Come on in."

They all followed him to the living room. On the couch was Kagome's family. "Mom, Souta!" Kagome shouted. She ran to hug them.

"Kagome, thank god you're all right." Her mom said.

"When did you get here?" Kagome asked.

"We just got here. Shippo called us and told us that Naraku was no longer a threat." Her mom said.

"Did you kill him nee-chan?" Souta asked.

"No, I didn't kill him." Kagome said. They didn't need to know he was dead. She wasn't lying. She didn't kill him.

"I'm glad you're all right." Ms. Higurashi said. "You can come home now."

Everyone froze. She was going to go home to Kyoto. "You mean in Kyoto?" Kagome asked.

"Hai, that's where we live." Kagome's mom said.

"But..." Kagome started.

"We don't want her to leave." Inuyasha said.

"Hai, we're such good friends." Sango said. Miroku nodded agreeing with Sango.

"We can talk about this later." Ms. Higurashi said. "Let's go out to dinner and discuss things."

"Hai." Kagome said. "I'll meet you guys back at the hotel."

Inuyasha, Miroku, and Sango nodded. They were worried she might have to leave. Inuyasha was the most worried. He might have to live far away from his mate. He'd just gotten her back too.

Kagome had gotten done eating with her mom and brother. It was good to talk with them again. She missed them. She walked into her room at the hotel. As soon as she shut the door Inuyasha, Miroku, and Sango yelled.

"What did she say?"

Kagome stared at them and sighed. "Can we sit down first?" She asked. They nodded and all sat on the bed. "My mom said I can live here. She's going to look for a house around this area so I can stay. It might take a while so until then I'm going to live in the apartment I had."

"That's great!" Sango said.

"What are you going to do about the shrine?" Inuyasha asked.

"Well my mom thought I would want to stay here so Grandpa is going to stay and run the shrine. He already hired a miko to work there and help take care of him." Kagome said. "I thought it was a weird coincidence that Kikyo is the one Grandpa hired."

"That is a weird coincidence." Miroku said.

"I'm glad you're staying here." Inuyasha hugged Kagome.

"I just wanted to thank you all for helping me again." Kagome said.

"What are friends for?" Sango said.

"Hai, we couldn't just let you suffer like that." Miroku said.

"Arigato." Kagome said.

Inuyasha looked at them and nodded.

"Well, we're going to rest. All that running we did earlier really took a lot out of us." Sango said.

"Hai, have fun." Miroku said with a lecherous look in his eye.

Kagome stared after him and wondered what he meant. `Have fun?' She thought. She shook it off as him just being perverted, until Inuyasha pounced on her. "Inuyasha?" She said.

"The mark is gone." Inuyasha said. Kagome looked at him and understood. She blushed and nodded.

Inuyasha dipped his head to kiss her. He licked her lips for entrance. She opened for him. The kiss had started out innocently. Inuyasha's instincts had been growling at him to take his mate again.

He broke the kiss to take her dress off. Once that was gone he helped Kagome remove his clothes. They stopped when they heard a knock at the door. Inuyasha growled and yelled, "What the fuck do you want?"

"I just thought you'd want to know that Detective Ryo has been caught by the police. Seems Kikyo told them about his crooked ways so you won't have to worry about it." Sesshomaru said from the doorway.

"Ok, good, now go away!" Inuyasha said kissing Kagome's neck. He waited until he could no longer hear his brother's footsteps before slicing off Kagome's bra.

Kagome gasped as he massaged her breasts. Inuyasha smirked and took one into his mouth while his hand massaged the other. His other hand went down towards her underwear and ripped them off.

He moaned as Kagome rubbed his ears and brushed her leg against his arousal. He stopped what he was doing and removed his boxers. He threw them behind him like the other articles of clothing.

He dipped his head and kissed her while at the same time he slipped his finger into her to test her readiness. Feeling she was ready, he positioned himself over her opening. With one quick motion he thrust into her.

Kagome moaned and dug her nails into his back. She wrapped her legs around his waist and started rubbing his ears. Inuyasha moaned. He'd missed the feeling of her body against his.

He thrusted into her hard and fast. The demon in him screamed at him to mark her again. He felt her muscles tighten around him. He quickened his pace and kissed her neck. His hands rested on her hips as he bit her neck.

Kagome cried out and held onto Inuyasha. She held him close as she came. Inuyasha licked the blood away and thrusted into her one more time before releasing his seed inside of her.

Once they caught their breath Inuyasha kissed his mark. "I love you Kagome." He said.

"I love you too Inuyasha." Kagome said.
