<b><center>Chapter 9</center></b>

 

During the night they had switched positions. She was snuggled closely against his chest with her head tucked gingerly underneath his chin. Their legs were tangled together along with his strong arms wrapped securely around her petite form.

 

With amber eyes opened to the world he looked on to the beauty laying locked in his tight embrace. While thinking to himself he unconsciously let his fingers comb through her midnight colored tresses.

 

`Why can't I wake up like this every morning?'

 

He was suddenly pulled out of his longing thoughts when a loud ringing filled the room. His immediate reaction was to flatten his ears tightly against his head trying to block out the annoying sound. Lifting his ears a little off of his skull he listened more carefully to the noise. Realizing it was only a phone ringing he brought his sensitive ears off of his head and tried to locate where the phone was.

 

He knew it wasn't either of his phones so he it could only be hers. That is, if she even carried one. She didn't bring a purse so he assumed she would probably have it at her hip or in his jacket. He moved his free hand down the length of her body until he reached her hip. He felt a phone clip, just no phone to go with it.

 

The damn thing just kept ringing; it was beginning to give him a headache. And here was his Kagome sleeping soundly through it all, not even flinching. Searching around on the bed his hand collided with a vibrating object that he assumed to be her phone. Flipping it open he brought it close to his ear and greeted the caller rather rudely.

 

“What!?”

 

“Who the hell are you?” A woman answered a bit crossly.

 

“That's none of your business, now what do you want?”

 

“Look here young man! I don't know who you are or why your answering my <u>daughter's</u> phone, but if I don't speak with her in the next ten seconds I'm calling the police!”

 

He re-flattened his ears from the loud sound and his face went paler than usual. He looked over to Kagome.

 

He mentally punched himself. `Great…nice goin' Inuyasha, I'm sure her mother just loves you now…'

 

He gently shook her.

 

“Kagome, wake up.”

 

She snuggled closer into his warmth but didn't say a word or show any signs of waking. He started to worry a little he could hear her mother counting down what was left of his ten seconds.

 

“Kagome, wake up before your mother kills me!”

 

Her eyes shot open, but you could easily tell she was still groggy.

 

“What did you say?” she managed to say through a yawn.

 

He handed her the phone with a “feh” and his ears still flatten. She couldn't help but giggle. He looked so cute when he was angry. She took the phone and greeted the caller rather tiredly.

 

“Hello?”

 

“Kagome?”

 

“Mom?!”

 

“Where the hell are you young lady!”

 

“I…um…was…” She was debating whether or not to tell her mother the truth.

 

“Kagome.” Her mother said in a warning tone.

 

“I was with…um…Inuyasha…”

 

“And just who the hell is Inuyasha?!”

 

Now that was a question she didn't quite know how to answer…well here goes nothing she thought.

 

“He's…um…my…um…boyfriend…R 21; She laughed nervously.

 

“What?!”

 

“…”

 

“Kagome Lynn Higurashi!”

 

“Um…I can explain…”

 

“I want to meet this `boyfriend' of yours as soon as possible.”

“Um…ok.”

 

“Oh and another thing, Hun, when you get home your going to tell me why you spent the entire night at his house without telling me.” She said rather calmly.

 

“Ok…”

 

“Bye Hun,”

 

“Um…bye mom.”

 

She closed her phone and buried her head into the nearest pillow. Her mother was going to kill her when she got home…and possibly Inuyasha.

 

Inuyasha had quietly watched and listened to the phone call with a keen interest. Although he had to say his favorite part of their conversation was when Kagome had announced him as her boyfriend. He smiled as she dove into a pillow mumbling something about being road kill when she got home.

 

He snaked his arm around her waist and pulled her against him away from the pillow.

 

“You know, we never finished what we started yesterday.” He nipped at her neck.

 

She turned around in his embrace she knew what he was talking about but she didn't feel like talking right now.

 

“Finish what?”

 

She noticed that he was shirtless and moved her eyes down to take in his half naked figure. Gods he looked good with his muscular chest and slightly tanned skin. She ran her hands down his chest savoring how soft it felt against her finger tips.

 

`I wonder if he feels this soft all over…Bad Kagome! Bad!' She quickly pushed all her gutter minded thoughts out of her head.

 

“Don't play coy with me Kagome; you know what I'm talking about.”

 

He shivered slightly. Her touch was like fire on his skin. He felt like he was being engulfed into an enraging inferno, but he made no move to stop her. He liked her touch.

 

“Inuyasha please, I don't want to talk about it.”

 

“No, I want to hear it.”

 

“Why?”

 

“Because, I want to know why your father did those things to you. I wanna know how you knew that fox demon and most of all I want to know how you are involved with Naraku and what did he mean by a challenge?”

 

He took a deep breath inhaling her sweet scent.

 

“I want to know what makes you tick, I want to know everything there is to know. I want to be able to protect you no matter what.”

 

“I really don't want to talk about it, maybe later. It's nice to know that you care, but I can take care of myself.”

 

That really sent his blood boiling. He would protect her whether she wanted it or not. It was his job to do so, she would be his future mate…he wouldn't let another touch her and live.

 

“I'll believe that when I see it.”

 

She narrowed her eyes at him. She could protect herself and she knew it. Who was he to tell her otherwise? He was not her boss; she could do as she pleased. She untangled herself from his embrace and got out of bed and started looking for her shoes.

 

“What are you doing?”

 

“I'm looking for my shoes and when I find them I'm going home.”

 

Finding her shoes she slipped them on and proceeded to walk towards the door. He got out of bed and grabbed a hold of her waist and held her tightly.

 

“I don't think so.”

 

“And why not?” She said trying to break out of his hold but it was no use.

 

“You never finished tell me your story and you never answered my questions. You're not leaving until you do.”

 

He smirked

 

“And don't I have to meet your mother? I'm sure she'll love to see me.”

 

She narrowed her eyes again and made a sound a kin to that of a growl.

 

“Fine. What do you want to know?”

 

He lifted her up bridal style and carried her to his bed. He took off her shoes and sat on the bed while cradling her in his lap.

 

“Hm…lets start with who was that fox demon?”

 

She sighed and leaned her head into his bare chest. It took her a few moments to begin, but she finally began to explain to him.

<b>Hey everyone! Yeah I know it took forever to get the chappy out and sorry for the cliffy, but I need more time to think about her entire life story. It's getting a little complicated. I know there was a little OOCness, but I felt that it was needed. After all Kagome is in a vulnerable position, she's telling his her life story so I had to cut the bad boyness to a minimum.
