InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Save the Future ❯ Bedtime Secrets ( Chapter 2 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Inu Yasha, POTC, Sesshomaru and all the other hotties in this piece are not owned by me. But that doesn't mean I can't write about them! Whoowhoo! Beatin the system...or at least I think I am.
------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------
A/N: Wow I've been getting a lot of mixed replies. So there was a blatantly obvious (to be redundant) hint as to who the captain was in chapter one, which I will reveal at the end of this chapter, and no it was not a grammar error. I know that lots of readers have been threatening not to read if it wasn't Sesshy when they wanted Sesshy or Inu when they wanted Inu, but please continue to read, because I promise both of our lovely boys will be included. Addressing some of the reviews, I would love to do responses to each review, but I just don't have the space or time, sorry. But feel free to e-mail me at KKittykat204@aol.com with the subject as fan fiction: Save the Future if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, etc. I'll try to address the most common questions though:
Okay yes I am vague about the hottie, but that's for a reason, it's not because I can't describe, I just want to keep you guys guessing and on your toes, interested. Don't worry there will be more than enough detail later when necessary, and if you ever need any more feel free to ask!
Also the reason I included traits about both Inu and Sess in this guy was to confuse you. I knew who I wanted it to be, but I was curious to see what others felt. Well it's pretty split, so I'll stick with my original plan. Anyways Inu can pretend to be "stoic" and Sesshy can say "keh" b/c he may have picked it up from Inu. Sorry about the confusion!
Ok directly to the wonderful reader who asked me several analytical questions, (this proves they were paying attention) I can't answer any of those now unless you e-mail me, because it would ruin the storyline for everyone else. I'm sorry, but all that information will come in time, I have an outline and everything, I just need to get around to typing it. Hopefully this chapter will be a little more revealing and clear several answers, but if not, you'll just have to wait for the story to unfold. Don't worry it won't be "mysterious" for long. After all I am revealing who the captain is this chapter! But this chapter is totally informational, so don’t be disappointed in the lack of action, I promise some for next time!
There now that everyone's happy I'm going to continue with the story! Please R&R, reviews highly encourage me to continue writing. Happy reading!

Recap:
"The room's been filled for tonight, with supplies, but you can have it tomorrow after we dock in our new port. But for tonight....you have to sleep in the captain's quarters. We don't have any room in ours, and its the captain's orders. I'm really sorry. But don't worry, captain's not as scary as you think!" With that he smiled, hugged Kagome, and went down below to sleep. 'I was NOT prepared for that. I don't care if the captain's scary or not, I can't let him discover I'm a girl. I'm going to have to be very careful.' And with that thought Kago approached a door labled captain's quarters. She swung it open and discovered it empty, except for a large futon glued to the floor, and a large desk glued into a corner. 'I guess that's incase there's a storm.' she thought as she approached the table. Written in beautiful Kanji was a note to her...
~Kago,
Get ready for bed, I have to talk to the crew, but I'll be up shortly. I apologize about the space, but there's nothing I can do. I also do not have any extra futons. We will be sleeping together. I hope you don't mind. But don't worry, crew members are not allowed to have any intimate relationships, so you can sleep safely. If you are worried stay up and wait for me.
~Your Captain
Scared out of her mind Kago quickly undressed and re-bound her breasts, making it even harder for her to breath, but she could take no chances. She then donned a large t-shirt and a large pair of pajama pants. Hoping that the unfamiliar and loose clothing would throw the captain off enough to not notice that she was a girl. She then sat on the floor, facing the floor, awaiting his return. She thought leisurely about his beautiful long white hair and amber eyes. The way that his clothing hung off his body, accenting his muscles in all the right places. She licked her lips and began wondering what he was like off the boat, with women around, in the city. She wished had met the gorgeous man in her time, so even though her chances would be limited, at least he'd think of her as a woman. Her heartbeat picked up its pace as she heard footsteps nearing the door. She held her breath and the door swung open. The night with her captain was about to begin.

Chapter Two: Bedtime Secrets
Kago looked confused at the empty space where a pair of amber eyes should have been rudely staring back at her. Her eyes then traveled down towards the wooden floor. To her surprise, roughly two feet from the end of the floor was a head. That head was connected to the body of a little old woman with an eye-patch. Kago immediately relaxed and smiled, beckoning the elderly woman inside.
"What brings you here Grandmother?" She asked in a tone of respect. The stout woman took her time crossing the room to Kago, she then sat down opposite her, her knees folded under her legs.
"Tonight I shall be bunking with ye Kagome."
"Hey, I thought I was bunking with the captain!...W-W-wait, how do you know my name is Kagome?"
"It's a long story my child. As for the captain, ye will be bunking with her... me. I know it may be a shock, but I keep these men in shape, the man ye were probably expecting was my first mate. I'm sorry for leading ye towards a different thought. Ye must forgive this old one's humor. Everyone call's me captain here, but as a fellow woman I will allow ye to use my name. But ye may only use it in my quarters when others cannot hear the informalities I have with ye. My name is Kaede, I am younger sister to Kikyo. Perhaps ye learned her name in the future, ye two look very similar..."
"Wow, how do you know all this capta-Kaede?"
"Kagome, I was blessed with the gift of sight. I knew of yer coming to visit, but I did not know how or when. That is why I have remained on this ship, and I will stay here until yer journey has gotten well underway. But I do not understand why ye are here, I know ye are chasing after a man to save our future, but ye must inform me of the rest my child." Kaede leaned forward expecting Kagome to start right away. Instead the younger girl looked away as tears began to form in her eyes. Tears of joy. She had traveled for months, almost a year now, keeping her secret bottled up inside her, and now she could finally have someone to talk to. Someone who she could trust to guide her, someone she could confide in.
Seeing Kagome's tears, Kaede scooted forward placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "It's all right child, ye get some rest tonight, we shall discuss yer journey here in the morn." Kagome nodded her consent and Kaede shouted, "SANGO! Get in here lass!" A woman about Kagome's age entered. She was dressed in a long dress with a rag around her obviously long black hair. She smiled a kind smile and bowed slightly in front of the captain. "No need for the formalities Sango my dear, the crew is not here to witness our discussion. Please, undress Kagome and get her ready for bed." Kagome blushed a deep shade of red.
"Nnnno it's really all right I can do it myself."
"As you wish," Kaede giggled, "Oh and Sango sleeps here with me normally, the crew just doesn't know it. She will be joining ye today, tonight I go out to meditate and watch the stars. I will awaken ye two in the morn." Turning to Sango she continued, "Thank ye for keeping yer skillful eye on Kagome, Sango my child." She then bowed and stepped out, locking the door behind her.
Sango turned to face Kagome just as the key turned in the lock and the sound of fate clicked into place. "I'm Sango," the older girl and kitchen maid said, "I already know what Kaede does, but we need to find out the rest. If you feel more comfortable telling me tonight, then I will tell Kaede what information you have given me. I know it appears as if I'm some sort of serving girl but I'm not, Kaede treats me cruelly in front of the men so that they will not want to bring more women aboard the ship. In truth we have a loving relationship, she is like a mother to me, and will probably soon be the same for you. Please trust us to keep your secret, as we trust you to keep ours."
"Sango, I'm Kagome, as you well know. And I do trust both you and Lady Kaede, so I will tell you everything I can right now. I'm looking for a man named Naraku," Kagome paused, but hearing no sort of recognition of the name from Sango she continued, "I'm from the future. The year 2004 to be exact. I'm now 18-years-old and I have just become a Federal Agent for Japan. My job is to keep Japan safe, that includes both the future and the past. I live in what is now Tokyo, it's actually surprisingly close to where we were docked this morning." Sango looked utterly confused with what Kagome was saying, but she tried her hardest to remember all her questions for later.
"During the time where I come from a man named Myoga invented a time-machine. Being a Federal Agent of the Japanese I know of mikos, demons, and so forth. Myoga is a demon, I must find him in his demonic form in order to find where I must travel to. He said he often boarded this vessel, so this is why I am here. I am also to enlist the aid of a man, but I know not his name. Hopefully Myoga will be able to give me that name," Kagome paused taking a deep breath before continuing, "Naraku is a man in his late 20's, or at least that's how old he looks. He is in fact a demon, one that was supposed to have been defeated years before this time, whoever battled him, did not do a sufficient job. He managed to live and gained strength in order to survive, this is how he made it to the 21st century."
All of a sudden Kagome lowered her voice, as if she were ashamed. She then proceeded with her tale, "One day he came to my family's shrine. He killed my grandfather, who was training me as a miko, and stole his scrolls. Using these scrolls he was able to find out about the sacred jewel of four souls. He then snuck into the government's secret experimental base and used the time machine to transport himself to this era. Nobody is quite sure what he wants to do, but we know for sure that he wants to change the past to be to his advantage for the future. I came to avenge my grandfather's death and to save the future." Kagome sat quietly after finishing, breathing hard, awaiting Sango's response.
"That is quite a burden to carry Kagome, I'm sorry, I will do all in my power to help you. My brother Kohaku was recently killed by a man who claimed to be from the future. This must have been Naraku, I too will avenge the death of my loved one, for this I will enlist your aid. There is also a man called Miroku, he is the look out and magician on the Tetsusaiga. He has the ability to create a wind tunnel that sucks everything into a black hole. Miroku once told me of how his family members were all brutally killed and tortured by a man named Naraku in the past. I am sure we can use his skills, and he will be willing to help us."
"Thank you Sango, for being so understanding and helpful," Kagome whispered as she embraced the other girl.
"Let's get some sleep Kagome, we'll find Miroku and discuss this with him and Kaede tomorrow morning." With that the two women fell asleep in each others arms. The night passed as Sango wiped away Kagome's tears, in a sisterly way.
--------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----
Watching the sun rise, Kaede smiled thinking about the young man sitting next to her. He was such a great first mate, and she could not wait to give the Tetsusaiga, his rightful heirloom, to him. He deserved it, but first she had to help Kagome accomplish her mission. After dismissing the young man and scolding him not to bother Kago too much she made her way to her bedroom.
She knocked on the door and opened it without answer, only to see the two girls wrapped in each others arms. Smiling she nudged them with her feet and sat down once they had awoken. They groggily stared at her as Kagome retold her story, then they got dressed for the day. Sango posing as a badly treated cooking maid, Kaede posing as a mean old captain, and Kagome posing as Kago, the newest male member of the crew. They laughed at how similar they all were before emerging from the cabin. They went down into the hull of the boat and Kaede had Shippo, the errand boy, summon Miroku down from his post to be included in a private discussion.
The three women sat downstairs and awaited him, as Kaede asked Kagome a very important question. "I will allow ye to complete yer mission on the Tetsusaiga, under one condition. I am getting old and have not much contact with other people, will ye come visit me once a week in my quarters?"
"Of course Lady Kaede! I would love to, in fact I'll stop by as often as possible!" Kagome exclaimed, ecstatic that the elderly woman so enjoyed her company. They smiled at each other and after a few minutes they heard the running of footsteps down the stairwell and a knock on the door. Sango opened the door to a out-of-breath Miroku, and he quickly hugged her, discretely placing a hand on her backside, he soon afterwards earned a red slap in the shape of Sango's hand across his face.
Kagome suppressed her giggled as Miroku straightened his clothes and joined them at the table. He was wearing a monk's outfit and hand prayer beads around one of his hands, with was covered with a sacred cloth, his slightly long hair was tied back in a pony-tail that ended in a nub by the bottom of his neck. After he sat down, Kaede explained Kagome's situation and Miroku's eyebrows shot straight up part his hair line. She then suggested that he help Kagome and Sango in their quest. After hearing all this he quietly got up from his chair and approached Kagome.
On his knees in front of her he grabbed her hand and held it between the two of his. "Lady Kagome, will you bear my children?" Surprised Kagome couldn't react. But she didn't need to, for moments later a giant boomerang (that had been hanging behind the door) came crashing over Miroku's head. With that Kaede dismissed Miroku.
"Well it's settled then. Sango and Miroku will help ye, and now we await Myoga arrival. Well now I must tend to the navigational courses, and ye two must get to work before the crew suspects."
"Yes, thanks for your help Kaede, it is much appreciated," Kagome said as she began to follow Sango out of the door. Once Sango was already out-of-sight Kaede grabbed Kagome's arm.
"My child, ye must bear in mind yer mission. Do not allow yerself to stray from the path of duty for if ye follows this direction the clock of fate will not embrace yer decision. Ye will put the future of ye and he at risk. Now go."
"Lady Kaede I'm afraid that I don't quite understand what you're saying to me. It's all riddles and rhymes to me, what exactly are you asking of me?"
"Oh my child, ye must understand, that I only want the best for ye and this is why I ask ye to no..."
Kaede was interrupted as the door was thrown open. Kagome gasped at the sight in front of her. The first mate was dripping wet, his long silver hair had come undone and it clung to his body. His wet clothing provided no means of leaving anything to a girl's imagination. Kagome blushed deeply and looked away. He had looked too beautiful, soaking wet, his amber eyes in a rush as if they were racing to tell his captain something. Eyes that were filled with worry and concern over the Tetsusaiga, the girl he loved.
"Inu Yasha, we had not heard ye approach, why are ye concerning us in matters now?" Kaede questioned as Kagome continued to look away from the attractive man.
"Kae*cough*Captain, we have an emergency. A storm's a brewing, we need all hands on deck and your guidance!"

THE END OF CHAPTER TWO!
A/N: Okay so due to popular demand I have posted a chapter two. YAY! So now please, tell me what do you guys think? Please continue reading even if you are a Sesshomaru fan. I love him too, which is why he WILL be included in this fic, oh yea. I can't live without my dose of Fluffy. Oh and the whole Kaede thing was definitely put in chapter one. I totally hinted at it. I said "she" when talking about the captain, no it was NOT a typo. Oh and the guess if it's Sess or Inu was for the position of "hottie" not captain, bwahaha, sorry to confuse you all. It was just so easy. Oh and how hot would Inu look in wet clothing? Sticking to his every curve?...Ok I'm gonna stop now, but let me know what you guys think! You know I write to please and totally value everyone's opinions, and flamers are completely welcome to do their thing. Thanks! Until next time.
