Recap:
"Well it's settled then. Sango and Miroku will help ye, and now we await Myoga arrival. Well now I must tend to the navigational courses, and ye two must get to work before the crew suspects."

"Yes, thanks for your help Kaede, it is much appreciated," Kagome said as she began to follow Sango out of the door. Once Sango was already out-of-sight Kaede grabbed Kagome's arm.

"My child, ye must bear in mind yer mission. Do not allow yerself to stray from the path of duty for if ye follows this direction the clock of fate will not embrace yer decision. Ye will put the future of ye and he at risk. Now go."

"Lady Kaede I'm afraid that I don't quite understand what you're saying to me. It's all riddles and rhymes to me, what exactly are you asking of me?"

"Oh my child, ye must understand, that I only want the best for ye and this is why I ask ye to no..."

Kaede was interrupted as the door was thrown open. Kagome gasped at the sight in front of her. The first mate was dripping wet, his long silver hair had come undone and it clung to his body. His wet clothing provided no means of leaving anything to a girl's imagination. Kagome blushed deeply and looked away. He had looked too beautiful, soaking wet, his amber eyes in a rush as if they were racing to tell his captain something. Eyes that were filled with worry and concern over the Tetsusaiga, the girl he loved.

"Inu Yasha, we had not heard ye approach, why are ye concerning us in matters now?" Kaede questioned as Kagome continued to look away from the attractive man.

"Kae*cough*Captain, we have an emergency. A storm's a brewing, we need all hands on deck and your guidance!"
------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The three of them sprinted up to the upper level over water-soaked stairs. Reaching the top of the steps, Inu Yasha flung open the door and a inspired cheer emerged from the lips of the crew. Kagome was surprised at how much they admired Kaede.

“Kago, cut the ropes to the anchor! Miroku, stay in the look out, see if ye can suck up some of the water! Sango, back underneath lass, and take Shippo with ye! Inu Yasha, organize the men and take down the sails! The rest of ye sorry excuses for boys patch up the holes, get rid of the water below, and sever all ties to masts and booms! Get to work NOW! Or ye won’t be here en the morn’ to complain!” Kaede bellowed. The crew rushed to comply with the wishes of their beloved captain. Pulling her dagger out of her boots, Kagome rushed over to the ropes attached to the anchor. Working frantically she attempted to saw through the rope.

“KAGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Kagome turned around at the scream she heard from Shippo. She saw Sango pulling him below deck from the corner of her eye, she felt relieved; but what she saw directly overhead unnerved her.
------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------
“Come on! You heard the captain’s orders you fools, get to work! This girl better not have a scratch on her, or you’ll have me to deal with!” Inu Yasha yelled to the men as he watched Kago sprint to accomplish her duties. ‘Keh, the runt is the only one with any guts,’ he though in approval. Within seconds he had the sails down and half the ropes untied from the mast. The stem and rudder were being held steady, and the boom was taken care of. Proud of his work, he scanned the rest of the deck to see how the others were doing. As he glanced over at Kago he felt his heart stop. She was turning around and looking up in stupefied horror as a 20 foot wave lingered over her head. ‘Shit!’ That was all he thought as he ran towards Kago, unleashing his youkai speed.

But even he was too late. The water enveloped Kago’s body and pushed her roughly from the boat’s safety and into a dark abyss. Kouga watched horrified as his potential love fell from the Tetsusaiga and as his enemy dove in headfirst after her. Without a second thought. “MEN OVERBOARD!” He yelled, hoping that his enemy would somehow be able to save his love.
----------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------
‘I’m going to die. I’m sorry Grandpa, I failed you.’ Kagome allowed the murky depths to consume her body as she slowly blacked out. Right before losing consciousness she felt a pair of strong arms surround her, and even though she was drowning she felt safe.
----------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------
The warmth of his hand coveted her right cheek. She leaned into his hand, not wanting to be left with only the linger of his touch. She imagined his long white flowing hair hanging around their faces as he leaned towards her. Imagined him worrying about her more than his ship. Imagined his beautiful amber eyes looking at her in longing and with care instead with disgust and distrust. Hoping for all this and more, Kagome struggled to open her eyes.

“K-K-Kouga?” She questioned. She looked up confused at the man before her. No longer in his human form, demonic wolf-like ears disrupted his black hair. He smirked at her, and she looked down to see that she was completely naked. Blushing a deep shade of crimson, she pulled the blankets from beneath her up to cover herself.

“Kouga…why am I in this futon? Why am I naked? And why are you here!?!”
“Ha! That fool Inu Yasha tried to save you, but collapsed after he had accomplished the simple feat. I on the other hand have been caring for you since 5 minutes after you hit the deck. I saved your life. And now, I know the truth. Listen Kago, I love you. When I saw you fall overboard I was pissed off. Please, tell me your real name…”

“First of all, I don’t take requests. Secondly, you’d better not tell anyone about this…got it? Now, where are my clothes?” Kouga pointed over to a pile on the floor near by.

“But before you can dress, Kago, you have to promise to be my mate and room with me.” Expecting an exclamation of happiness, Kouga didn’t even notice until he felt the after-sting that Kago had slapped him. She had already begun to dress and made her way to the door. “PIG!” She yelled as she walked out and slammed the door behind her.
------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------
‘It didn’t bother me that my heart stopped when I thought this mangy boy was going to get hurt! What the hell is wrong with me? Am I going soft? Shit! I’d better beat this idiot into shape, no way is his clumsiness going to slow me down. Keh. Pathetic.’ Inu Yasha thought as he stood in front of Kouga’s door waiting impatiently. His thoughts were more jumbled up than they had been years earlier with Kikyo.

The door in front of him opened, and Kago emerged. He smiled and started to walk forward, but before he could even get a word in, Kago was surrounded by the crew. He stayed behind and watched as they all slapped her on the back and expressed their relief. Once the commotion died down, she spoke, “What exactly happened? And where’s Ka-captain?”

Shippo pushed his way past the men, crawled up Kago’s body, and perched on her shoulder. “Kago, I missed you!” he squealed as he squeezed her head in between his scrawny arms. “Mister Inu Yasha saved you, and captain needs to rest. She’s been hibernating ever since the storm.” Kagome smiled inwardly, ‘hibernating, ay?’ She looked around for Inu Yasha and saw him just passed the crowd looking uninterested. She almost got upset, but then saw his hands, they betrayed him as they wrung out his hat in worry. She smiled and listened to Shippo’s on going story, “fell in, and then he jumped in after you! Then the crew pulled you guys out and he gave you mouth for mouth. I was sooooo scared, I thought you were a goner, and you weren’t coming to. It took five whole minutes before he could get air into you. Then he fell down because he was tired and Kouga picked you up and took you into his room. I came up and saw everything, and Sango was busy helping Miroku, we all had our hands full. I was really scared that you…” Kagome zoned out again half-way through Shippo’s long-winded speech. Her cheeks turned a slight shade of red, and she searched frantically for Inu Yasha’s eyes, only to find that the mysterious first mate had once again escaped. ‘Five whole minutes? Mouth to mouth for 5 minutes? Oh Kami!’ She felt her heat beating faster and was brought back to reality by a sudden burst of applause from the crew.

Kaede had finally emerged from her cabin and was looking well. Their respect for her shone through their eyes as they all watched her. It was apparent that each of the men would gladly give his life for her. “Kago! I need to talk to ye now, into Kouga’s room for the two of us now. The rest of ye scallywags, get to work!” The crowd split up and rushed back to their tasks and Kagome reluctantly followed Kaede into Kouga’s room.

Kouga looked up and smirked when he saw Kaede, but his smirk soon disappeared when he saw his upset captain. Even he had some respect for her. “For what ye did to Kago, ye will be punished. It is against the code for any of the crew to have a physical relationship. Ye know the rules and now ye will pay the price.”

“W-Wait, don’t punish me captain,” Kouga said honestly frightened, “Kago’s a girl. It’s her fault.”

“Coward,” Kaede spat, “In exchange for keeping Kago’s secret I will spare ye the punishment from Inu Yasha. But ye still will be denied half of ye food portion for the week. Instead ye will give it to Shippo without a word of explanation to the crew.”

“To that brat? The crew will never let me live it down,” Kouga sighed, “Please captain, give me a real punishment. The punishment of a warrior, not this this humiliation!” Kaede ignored Kouga’s request and turned smartly on her heels and grabbed Kagome’s hand. She pulled her out of the room and as soon as they left the door they both quickly exchanged an amused smile. “Meet me in my cabin after helping to clean for an hour or so. I will expect ye in that amount of time.” And with that Kaede departed to her cabin and Kagome walked forward to find work. In her search for Shippo she traveled to the bow of the Tetsusaiga. Seeing a figure ahead of her she abruptly stopped and hid behind a nearby pole in the shadows. She smiled as she watched Miroku looking longingly towards an unknowing Sango, who was busy scrubbing the floors. His eyes were attempting to capture her essence and every inch of her being, Kagome smiled as his obvious love for the girl. Her happiness was interrupted as she was grabbed by the waist.

“Look Kouga,” she hissed, “I don’t care if you know my secret. You can’t tell a soul, Kaede won’t let you! And if you lay one hand on Shipp-” Kagome stopped suddenly as she was spun around to look into a pair of eyes that weren’t the blue ones she had expected. Amber eyes searched her soul, “What secret kid?” Inu Yasha growled. Kagome abruptly pushed herself out of his grasp and backed out from the shadowed area. “N-nothing sir,” she whispered as she ran towards Kaede’s room. ‘Where does he get off calling the captain Kaede? He should die for that, but for some reason I think Kaede is allowing it. What the hell is it with this boy? He deserves to take a bullet between his teeth….But what secret?…Damn brat intrigues me, good thing too, otherwise I’d have to get rid of him.’ Inu Yasha thought as he watched Kago’s fast retreating figure.
--------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------
The door slammed open as Kagome burst in to Kaede’s room disrupting her meditation. Kaede took one look at her and the two of them discussed ways they could avoid being discovered. Soon after taking some extra precautions, such as Kagome’s room in the storage room being locked, and her breasts being bound, the two of them emerged from the cabin. Kaede told the crew to pack up all the spare wood and to get some sleep because they were heading off to rebuild on the closest island. She took the wheel and steered the Tetsusaiga towards the west. The crew began to clean up the leftover wood and sails and then one by one went to their rooms. Kagome retired to Kaede’s room, for her last night there and found Sango in waiting. The two of them got dressed for bed and climbed in, too exhausted to talk.

“’Night Kagome,” Sango whispered, and they went silent. A few minutes later, Kagome spoke up, “Hey Sango?”

“Yes?”

“You awake?”

“Uh-huh.”

“I think Miroku’s in love with you.”

“…”

“G’night Sango!”

“…WHAT!?!?!?!”

A/N: YAY! Finally completed. Okay, so maybe it wasn’t as exciting as I promised, but hey. I’ll make it up to you guys by updating THIS story again this week, ok? So what did you think? I know it was a corny ending, but how was the rest of it? By the way, if Inu gave me mouth to mouth, I’d definitely count it as a kiss, wouldn’t you? Haha. Well please give me some feedback! Until next time.
