Kagome rolled over on her bed when she heard the yell from across the hall.
"Higurashi, what are you keeping from us?"
She cracked an eye open to glare up at Rin and Sango before she quickly flipped over and snuggled deeper into her pillows.
Sango picked the pillow up off her head, "No. We need answers."
Kagome tightly closed her eyes. It was still too early for all this. "Give me like three more hours," she grumbled as she tried to get comfortable.
Rin pulled at her friends blankets, "Kagome-chan, get up. Something came in the mail for you."
Kagome let out a large sigh as she rolled over to look at her friends, "fine. Let's go."
Kagome started to make her way out of her room.
Sango and Rin looked at the mess on top of her head and the saggy clothes she was wearing, "don't you want to change?"
Kagome tightly closed her eyes as she gave Sango a deadpanned look, "I want to go back to bed, but you two are keeping me up."
"Kagome-chan," Rin began when they made their way into the hall, "I think you really want to get dressed," she told the girl in a hushed tone.
"You two don't make any sense," she grumbled as she made her way into the living room, but immediately halted in her steps.
"Otouto?"
The dark brown haired male turned to look at his sister as he raised his eyebrow, "looks like someone had a long night," he told her with a smile.
She rushed over to him and embraced him in a huge hug, "shut up, baka," she told him, but there was no real detest in her voice.
"When did you get so short?"
Kagome slightly let go of her brother as she looked up in his blue eyes, "don't make me hit you."
He laughed at that, "you hit? Don't be funny, neechan."
Kagome could only smile, "so what gives. Aren't you early?"
They did talk about him staying with her for two weeks, but it was after exams, and she knew his exams weren't done.
He lifted his shoulders, "I took all my exams early."
She shook her head, knowing that even if he was lying, she really couldn't do anything about it. Finally, she took the opportunity to look at her little brother. His dark hair was still cropped short, but his bangs hid most of the view she had of his eyes, and she was slightly surprised to see him dressed so... 'like a forever 21 employee?'
She chuckled. She never thought she would see the day that he would dress anything like guys she found attractive in movies.
"You need to stop growing," she grumbled when she came back into the living room with two cups of coffee in tow.
He crinkled his azure eyes at her, "sorry. It had to happen eventually."
Rin sat next to Kagome on the couch, "so Souta-kun, how much longer until you are legal?"
Kagome thought she was going to drop her coffee on the sofa, "Rin-chan!"
Souta only grinned at her friend, "only two more months."
Kagome held her head in her hands, "this is not happening right now."
Rin held up her hands, "What, he is cute."
She turned to wink at Souta who only shushed her.
Kagome was too jumbled in her own thoughts to see that the joke was on her.
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
The next week went by without any real distractions. She was just glad that Rin and Souta were not humping each other with how much they had been flirting through the week, and then Sango started on it too.
"Oh kami, help me," she grumbled when she made her way to the car.
"If you are looking for god, I definitely can't help you there."
Kagome turned wide eyed and blushing to the male. "Akio-kun."
He gave her a small smirk, "the one and only."
The blush only increased on her cheeks. She had yet to tell her friends about what transpired between the two of them at the party. She didn't dare breath anything about their coming date either.
He leaned against her car, "Higurashi-san, if you keep blushing, it only makes me want you more."
She hid her face in her hands as she felt like her face was on fire.
He laughed, "I am just messing with you, Kagome-chan."
"It doesn't make what you said any less awkward," she told him behind her hands.
He chuckled as he pulled at her hands, "Listen, I am sorry. Okay."
Her ocean blue eyes looked over him.
He looked at her with such a ferocity that she thought she might get lost in his golden
gaze.
"Ka-gome." He could barely get the name out of his mouth.
She bit her lip. Her body always betrayed her when she came into contact with him.
She shook her head.
'Get it together, Higurashi,' she told herself as she opened her car door.
Akio silently cursed when the woman before him turned and started making herself busy with putting her groceries in the car.
"We still good for next Friday?"
Kagome bumped her head on the roof of the car.
He reached over to rub her head.
She tightly closed her eyes. "That really hurt," she grumbled, but when she opened her eyes her breath caught.
Akio was so close to her. Too close.
It felt like deja vu.
Akio studied the woman next to him. Her eyes called to him again in that way only her eyes could.
"Can you feel that?"
Kagome slightly nodded her head. She didn't know what the exact feeling was, but she would be lying to the man if she told him otherwise.
He leaned his forehead against hers, "how can one woman cause this much confusion," he grumbled slightly, but he had a smirk playing on his cute face.
Her answering blush came right on time.
He rubbed her cheek with his thumb, "don't ever change, Kagome-chan."
She looked into his eyes. She felt that pull again. It was weird. It felt like her soul was being drawn from her body.
Slowly, but with confidence, he leaned into her.
She felt her heart rate accelerate. She knew what was coming.
He closed his eyes. He was only inches from her face now.
Her breath left her as his lips moved closer and closer to her own.
But then... he placed a gentle kiss on her cheek.
The small frown came on instinct.
He caught it though and laughed, "don't worry. I will make up for it on our date," he promised as he pulled away from her.
"Catch you next Friday," and with that he was gone.
Kagome turned her body towards her car and bumped her head softly against the door, "why do I feel like the fates are against me?"

It was Saturday, and as was the custom of Aishiteru, they had a concert, but with the way Souta was acting and his hormones...
Kagome shook her head.
"Souta-kun," she heard Sango holler at her brother playfully.
"Sorry Sango Oniichan. I just couldn't help myself," she heard her brother explain.
Rin laughed, "seems like Sakamoto-san's pointers are really paying off. Huh, Sango-chan?"
Kagome smacked her hand against her forehead. 'Not this again!'
"Are you going to the concert with us, Souta."
Sango rolled her eyes. She really thought Rin was taking the playfulness with the younger boy too far.
He blushed at the informal way she called him.
Sango laughed, "Aw, is otoutosan blushing?"
"Too kawaii," Rin gushed.
Souta shook his head, "you two are too much," he whispered.
Sango winked at him. "If your sister would stop hiding secrets from us," she whispered to him.
Souta arched an eyebrow at her, "Neechan and secrets?"
He had to laugh that was a little hard to believe.
Rin widened her eyes and shook her head, "Seriously. She kissed Takahashi-san and has yet to tell us the juicy details and a little birdie told me she has a date with Akio-kun."
Sango's brown eyes widened, "Aniki Takahashi?"
Rin nodded her head, "Ayame-chan heard something through 'the bushes'," she told them with quotations.
Sango nodded her head accepting her answer. "But what is still weird... if she was on a date with Koga-kun then how does she know what happened at this party Sesshoumaru-senpai took her to?"
Rin furrowed her eyebrow, "hm. You know I have no idea."
Souta had enough, "neechan, come out here."
Kagome grumbled as she made her way to the living room. She really didn't want to witness two of her closest friends flirting with her little brother anymore. She had enough of it on day one.
"Nani?" She asked the three in front of her. She stopped with her hands on her hips.
"Who is Takahashi-san?"
Kagome looked to Sango and Rin as a blush crept on her face. "Takahashi-senpai?"
Souta arched an eyebrow at her. She was already referring... "The guy you kissed," he cleared for her.
Kagome flinched at the way he said the word. Kissed. It sounded so weird coming from his lips. She opened her mouth –
"And you have a date with Aniki?"
Now she knew her eyeballs were going to pop out of her head. She hardened her eyes, "who have you two been talking to?"
It was Sango and Rins' turn to blush.
"Ayame-chan," Sango answered.
Kagome shook her head. She still had no idea how Ayame knew anything about her and Akio.
She sat down on the gray colored sofa, "Akio-kun asked me out."
She closed her eyes as she waited for the screams and hollers.
After a few seconds though, she opened her eyes. She looked over at her two friends as their mouths looked to be pinned to the floor.
She felt a small smile form on her face, "I need to get my camera."
Souta laughed. "Already got it," he told her as he showed her the picture on his phone.
Kagome's giggle knocked both girls back to earth, "when were you going to tell us?" Rin shot out her question.
"When did this happen?" Sango asked.
"Is he still super cute?"
"How has he been?"
Kagome laughed at her friends inquires. She turned to Rin, "Yes, I was going to tell you guys. I just have not gotten around to it."
She looked to Sango, "he asked me at Takahashi-san's party."
Rin held up her hands, "wait, so Sesshoumaru-senpai invited you to a party for Takahashi-san?"
Sango widened her eyes.
"You two don't know the half of it. They are brothers."
Sango and Rin looked at each other, "no way."
Souta rolled his eyes. "There is too much estrogen in here," he grumbled as he left the room.
The women completely ignored the young man, "how did he take it?"
Rin rolled her eyes at Sango's question, "after he showed up here looking for Kagome-chan, I highly doubt he was in the best mood."
Kagome furrowed her brow at Rin, "Wait, he came here?"
Rin nodded her head proudly, "he came just after you left."
"Oh," Sango replied as she got up from the couch and left the room.
"Why didn't he say anything," Kagome wondered out loud. There were many opportunities he had throughout the night she saw him.
Rin lifted her shoulders. "Men always do things without really thinking," she told her answering the question.
Sango came back in the living room with a big white box. "I found this in the lobby."
Kagome looked hesitantly at the large box, "and you brought it into the apartment... because?"
Rin waved her off, "It looks just like the box Takahashi-san was carrying."
Kagome widened her blue eyes, "he brought me something...?"
The idea just seemed too odd.
Rin lifted her shoulders, "who knows, but it is the only conclusion I could come up with." She smiled, "but damn did he look good in those bike leathers."
Kagome felt a flush stain her cheeks, "I saw."
"So you thought he looked good too," Sango asked her.
Kagome turned her face away, "I didn't say that."
Sango let out a large breath, "whatever."
Finally, Kagome reached for the box. "Hurry up and open it," Rin grumbled. Her hands clapping together as she waited excitedly to see what was in the box.
Kagome bit her lip self-consciously, but with a small amount of determination, she lifted the lid.
"Oh my gosh," Rin stated.
"Kami, this can't be right," Sango agreed.
Kagome just tried to fight the blush on her cheeks.
Both women turn to glare at their friend, "is there any reason he would give you this?"
Kagome only felt the blush grow on her cheeks as she swiftly shook her head.
Images of them kissing and the way he was so forward with her at the party flashed through her mind. She had multiple images to go through as she held up the items.
"Well, he was wearing leathers," Rin reminded them.
"The leathers are not the problem," Sango cut in.
The grin on Rin's face only got wider, "what," she lifted up the two other items, "she has to have something to wear underneath."
The way she was wagging her eyebrows just made the flush rise up that much more.
"Oh kami, kill me now," Kagome whispered as she sunk deeper into the couch.

"Father," Sesshoumaru bowed when he entered his father's private study. He slightly moved to the side when the man behind him came fully into the room.
The Inu no Taisho looked at the older demon, "did you bring it?"
He focused his beady eyes on the tall man, "it is here."
With a flick of the wrist the blade was out in the open air.
"Is that?" Sesshoumaru wondered out loud.
"Tetsusaiga."
"Why did you call for it?"
The question from his son hung in the air a moment as Tougaou looked over the large blade.
He turned towards Sesshoumaru, "the time has come."
Sesshoumaru felt his eyes widen, "then it has happened?"
His father placed the blade in its scabbard, "it is not about what has happened, but about what is in the future."
"Master Taisho, what is in store for him?"
He turned to the sword smith. He knew he was one of his most trusted advisers, "either the end or the beginning."
The room was silent for a moment as both demons digested the information granted to them.
"So his fate truly is in his hands?" Sesshoumaru grumbled.
Tougaou tightly closed his eyes at the anger in his sons voice. He wished with every fiber in his being that there was another way, but "his fate is in his hands."
