"Ayame-chan," Kagome called when she saw her red haired friend. She waved the other woman over, "look who I bumped into."
Ayame looked at Akio and Roku. She had seen them multiple times since high school. Whenever Master Taisho called a meeting all lords, princes, and the like were required to come, but Kagome did not know that.
Ayame smiled at the two men in front of her, "Ani-senpai, Roku-kun... long time no see," she told them with a smile.
Akio looked at the young woman before him. He always had a weird dislike for the wolf princess, although he really had no true reason to be disagreeable. It was just something about wolves and dogs. They didn't mix. "It has been," he told the red haired wolf.
Roku on the other hand, loved the younger wolf.
"Ompf," Ayame replied when she was wrapped in a hug.
Kagome laughed, "you better watch it, Roku-kun. Yoshida-kun will beat you up if he sees the way you are handling his girlfriend."
Roku waved Kagome off, but he did let go of the death hug he had the wolf princess in. "What is that dumb wolf going to do?"
The two demons in front of him widened their eyes.
Kagome though, laughed, "wolf? Wow, that is a first," she replied. She had heard Koga being called many names, but wolf, no that was a first.
The three demons in front of her let out a sigh of relief, but the wolf princess and Akio looked hard at the golden eyed male. The consequences were too close to home.
Roku sighed. He knew he was in for a punishing later from his uncle. That was one moment in time he was not looking forward to.
"Excuse me," he replied. He needed to catch his breath before he was handed his ass.
Kagome looked curiously at him before she nodded.
"Don't worry about him," Akio told her, trying to break the silence.
"Um, I also need to be excused. Koga took off, and I need to look for him," she replied sheepishly.
Kagome looked after her friend. She suddenly felt so shy which happened quite often when she was in the presence of Takahashi Ani-senpai.
He smiled at her, "so, how is otouto-san?"
Kagome smiled at him, "fine. It is hard to believe he is a senior in high school already."
Akio widened his eyes, "Damn. I can't believe that. I remember when he was like seven."
Kagome laughed at that, "believe me. I know."
"He probably is a real ladies man," Akio joked with her.
Kagome shook her head, "that I do not need to hear."
Akio chuckled at her, "oh come on, Kagome-chan. He is a guy. It is bound to happen."
Kagome raised her shoulders, though she didn't disagree, "I know. It's just..."
"He is your little brother," he finished for her.
Kagome slightly nodded her head.
Akio reached his hand over to the young woman. He would be lying to himself if he didn't feel the electricity between them. He, although always unbeknown to her, had always had a slight thing for the girl in front of him.
Just when his hand was only a few inches from her...
"Higurashi-san?"
Kagome turned her head to look at, "Sakamoto-kun?"
Her brow furrowed, "Wait. I thought you were with Sango-chan."
He scratched the back of his head as he let out an awkward chuckle, "yeah, we went out, but I left the apartment about an hour ago."
Kagome slightly nodded her head, "oh."
"Excuse me," Akio replied as he made his way passed the two humans.
Kagome watched the man walk away with a frown covering his face. 'What is with these Takahashi men?'
Miroku, on the other hand, smiled smugly. He knew from the hand motions what the other man had in store, but even though he never met the red haired male, he knew another man that would not be in the best of moods if he caught what he had just walked in on.

Tougaou looked after Akio as he left the young woman he had been watching through the entire evening.
This situation was too unusual.
It was as if every male in his family line was drawn to her, which he supposed young men and hormones could do that, but this was different. It was as if there was some type of hidden power that each of them were unconsciously drawn to.
He continued to gaze at the other end of the great room. His mate stood next to him.
"There is something different about her," she whispered.
He arched an eyebrow at her. It was not like his wife to state such a statement when others were in hearing range.
"Different?"
She briefly nodded her head, "Different."
He chuckled, "is that all I am going to get out of you, woman?"
She leaned her head on his arm, "It is weird. She has this... power." She turned towards him, "can you not feel it?"
His eyebrows shot up as he turned to look down at his wife for the first time, "power?"
Now the conversation was turning to something more substantial.
She sighed, "It is hard to explain. It feels warm, but also dangerous."
He turned his calculating gaze back at the young woman.
He noticed how all the males without mates seemed to pass glances at the young girl. 'Maybe there is more to this then meets the eye,' he thought to himself.
"Explain this."
He turned to his youngest son.
He looked over the battered book in his hands, before he furrowed his brow, "why do you have this book?"
InuYasha rubbed his forehead. He was tired of all the questions directed at him. He just wanted some answers.
"Just look at it. Will you?"
Izayoi looked concerned at her son, before she straightened up to look into her husbands ocher eyes.
He could see what she requested in her brown eyes and knew that he could not deny her.
He shifted slightly to take the book from his son.
He quickly read over the page, before he turned back to look at his son, "what interest you in this?"
Dopplegangers were far and few between. He only had heard of one, and she gave him a lot of trouble.
InuYasha looked hard at his father. 'Should I tell him about the dream?' He shook his head. "Nothing," he replied as he started to walk away.
Tougaou grabbed his sons shoulder, "come with me."
His father made his way through the doorway.
Izayoi turned to her son and grasped his hand as she led them after the man of the house.
They reached the study, and his mother closed the door.
"Have the dreams started?"
InuYasha looked at him as alarm registered in his mind. "What is it you are not telling me?"
Tougaou let out a deep breath as he made his way to his tall leather chair. "You might need to sit down for this. It is going to take a while."
InuYasha worriedly looked from his father to his mother, before he made his way to the chair in front of him.
He sat there as patiently as he could and tried not to budge, but his nerves were on fire.
Tougaou looked over his son, "tell me what you have been dreaming about."
InuYasha let out a deep sigh as he ran his hands through his hair, "I just keep seeing this woman that looks exactly like Higurashi-san."
His father nodded his head. 'It is just as I thought.'
"But..."
Tougaou arched an eyebrow, "but," he prodded.
InuYasha shook his head, "I mean... I know it is not her."
He studied his son. He was shaking his leg and digging his nails into his palms.
"How do you know?"
Izayoi flashed him a worried look, but he only continued to stare at his son.
He let his head fall as his hands came to his mane, "I can't explain it. Its like... it looks just like her. She smiles the same. She talks the same, but there is something there that is not the same. It is not Higurashi-san."
"Oh InuYasha," Izayoi stated when she went to comfort her son.
"Izzie," Tougaou called before his mate could reach him.
He gave her a stern look and shook his head in the negative.
She widened her eyes at him, but stayed in place.
InuYasha looked over at his mother who was about to burst into tears and then turned to his father who was giving him a guarded expression.
"What the hell are you two not telling me?"
He didn't want so much emotion to show, but it was irresistibly obvious that his parents were hiding something from him.
Tougaou let out a long breath, "Is there anything else in these dreams that sticks out to you? Anything different then Higurashi-san as you see her?"
InuYasha furrowed his eyebrow, "I am tired of the questions. I want answers!"
The Inu no Taisho rose from his chair, "Do not raise your voice to me."
InuYasha held his arms to his side. He was shaking. His anger was overwhelming.
"Fuck," he barked as he walked straight over to the doors and pulled them open with a little too much force then necessary as one started to come off its hinges, but he didn't care. He needed to get out of here.
'Why the hell did I decide to come back home in the first place?'
He made his way to the first place he knew he could escape to. It was not a haven, but it was a little less noisy and didn't have as many smells.
His breath filled his nose with the fresh scent of the summer. It was warm today.
"What does it all mean?"

"There you are," Ayame stated when she saw Koga.
He smiled at her as he pulled her closer to him, but the growl was almost imminent.
She smiled at him.
"Why do you smell like dog?"
"What are you talking about," she asked him innocently.
Koga pushed her away. "Don't play that game with me, woman," he warned her.
She rolled her eyes, "Roku-kun, you know how he gets."
Koga cracked his knuckles, "you know, I can't remember the last time I gave him a good ass kicking."
Ayame lightly smacked him in his chest, "don't be like that. Poor guy still has it bad for Sango-chan."
"Kimura-sama. What about her?"
Both wolves turn to look at Miroku.
"Roku-kun," Koga grumbled more so to himself then the other man.
Ayame turned concerned eyes on him before she faced the human, "she has just always hard the perverts after her."
Miroku feigned hurt. "Why Ogawa-san, I am not a pervert," he told her obstinately.
Koga rolled his eyes as his arms crossed over his chest.
"Wait you said perverts," and then dawning slowly entered his brown eyes.
He turned concerned to the red haired female, "why did you say perverts?"
Koga grabbed him, "we have more pressing matters to talk about," he told him as he thought about having Kagome question why they were there in the first place.

"Takahashi-senpai."
He turned and not for the first time caught his breath in his throat.
'Why do I feel like I know her?'
But he knew that his concerns really held no bating over him. He just needed to get passed this little hump he had been in for about a week, since they shared that kiss. Ever since that night those dreams had been coming.
He smiled at her, "Oh, so I suppose Akio-kun ditched you for another girl?"
Kagome giggled at him, "actually no. Sakamoto-kun cut in and made sure senpai stepped away."
InuYasha smiled smugly. He knew there was a reason why the pervert was his closest friend, "serves that bastard right."
Kagome shook her head, "so?"
He locked gazes with her, "So?"
The emotions swirled in her azure depths. He could only hope that he did not get lost in them.
"You never did tell me what your stage name was in America," she reminded him.
His eyes widened, and she smiled, 'got you.'
He looked down below them to the trees and tulips swaying slightly in the breeze, "would you believe me if I told you that I had to keep it a secret?"
He smiled at her sheepishly.
Her eyes hardened at him, "nope."
He let out a deep breath, "damn."
"What... were you a porn star or something?"
He looked over at her. He was quite surprised that she would ask him something like that. He was the one that was usually really forward with her. It was weird to be on the receiving end.
"Oh, you know me. I love the pussy."
He smiled when the blush came to her cheeks.
"You have to stop making it so easy, Higurashi-san," he told her with a laugh.
She turned from him with a cute blush aligning her cheeks, "whatever."

"You think that will appease him for now?"
He let out a small sigh, "No."
And it was true. There was no way to keep the boy in the dark forever.
He glanced back towards his son as he made his way unto the balcony. It didn't surprise him to see the young brown haired woman following him shortly after.
He tightly closed his eyes when his wife grasp his arm.
"There is nothing we can do to stop it. Is there?"
Her worried timber stated all the thoughts he had been afraid to say aloud, "No, there is not."
She tightly closed her eyes to keep her tears at bay. "I can't do it again, Tougaou," she told him truthfully.
He embraced his mate. He tried to give her all the comfort that she needed, even when he had no more left to give. "I know, Izzie. I know."

"Can you not give me at least a hint," she asked him after a few moments.
He chuckled at her downtrodden demeanor, "what do I get if I do give you a hint?" He asked her jokingly.
Her eyes widened as she turned away, "I can think of something."
He had to smile to himself as he shook his head, 'too easy.'
"How about... if I tell you then you have to go on a date with me," he told her as he placed a finger to his chin.
The flush only grew on her cheeks, "Um."
He couldn't deny how much he liked to see her so uncomfortable, 'and over a little thing like a date,' he thought with a snicker.
'Wait til she sees what I really have planned,' he thought cockily.
"Kagome-chan?"
The two on the balcony turned towards the entrance to the home.
"Akio-kun," InuYasha grumbled. He seemed to never get rid of the man.
'And always when I am so close to getting what I want.'
The red haired male looked at his cousin, before he looked back to Kagome, "can I ask you something?"
The somewhat serious tone in his voice took her by surprise.
She nodded her head slightly as she excused herself from InuYasha as she followed him.
When they were a safe distance from many of the prying ears, he turned to her. "Listen," he started somewhat nervously. He needed to get his nerves under control.
He looked into her blue eyes. They were searching over him and he had to smile, even after three years she was still the same girl from high school, "I was thinking we could go out. You know catch up and if something is there," he raised his shoulders, "then so be it."
Kagome felt her face flush, "on a date?"
He gave her a toothy grin, "that was the idea."
Kagome didn't know how to take this. Akio-kun was asking her on a date. Takahashi Akio-kun.
'Wait until Ayame, Rin, and Sango hear about this,' she thought to herself.
She looked at the man in front of her, and she felt her heart stagger in her chest, "I would love that," she told him shyly.
His grin got a little wider, "It sounds like this might be something you have been waiting a while for," he ventured. He knew it was a little forward of him, but he couldn't help himself.
Kagome stared down at her clasped hands, "well, yeah. I mean since high school," she told him nervously.
He chuckled at her as he rubbed the back of his hair, "Oh, wow. Well, since we are confessing things... I have been wanting to ask you since then too."
Kagome felt her heart lurch in her chest.
Neither of them noticed the curious male around the corner that was tightly clenching his fist as he listened to the conversation.
