Souta crossed his arms over his chest as he looked over the man in front of him.
"Will you let me in?"
The blue eyed male raised his eyebrow at the other man, "what are your intentions with my sister?"
The man in front of him smirked, "what are your intentions with all the girls you take out?" He shot back.
Souta felt his eyes widen, "you better be kidding, bastard."
Akio laughed, "Souta-kun, I have known you since you were seven, and if I wanted to beat you up... I would have, but..."
He needed to actually show the younger male a little respect. He was taking his neechan out after all.
"My intentions with your sister are pure."
Souta looked at the red haired man a moment before a small smile made its way across his face, and he moved to allow the other man entrance to the apartment, "you know I was just messing with you right, bro?"
Akio smiled as he tussled the slightly shorter mans hair,"Souta is just looking out for his neechan."
Souta felt a blush align his cheeks, "whatever."
"Kagome-neechan, your date is here," he called into the apartment.
Akio placed a hand over his heart, "you make it sounds so..."
"Regretful," Souta finished for him with a smirk.
Akio rolled his eyes. Souta had always been really protective over Kagome. Even when he was too little to understand what the idea meant.
Before he could continue with the banter with her brother, he felt his breath leave him.
Kagome looked down to the ground as she blushed prettily.
Souta looked from Akio and then back to his sister, "What are you wearing?"
Kagome arched an eyebrow at him. She looked down to her blue jeans and normal black baby tank. It was not an outfit that was anything but ordinary. "An outfit that everyone has seen me in hundreds of times," she told him through clenched teeth.
Souta crossed his arms over his chest. "I don't like the way he is looking at you," he told her as he pointed to the red haired male.
Akio self-consciously rubbed the nape of his neck as he turned to face the couch which seemed to be really interesting at the moment.
Kagome too, turned her face in another direction.
"Oh, my baby is growing up," Rin gushed as she came through the apartment door just coming home from her intern work at the college.
Kagome hid her face. "This can't get more awkward," she replied as her flush made its way to her neck.
Akio, though, was thankful for the slight interruption.
He walked over to Kagome, "shall we?"
She looked up at him with her swirling blue orbs that he always managed to get lost in.
She nodded briefly at him as she securely wrapped her arm over his.
"Now, you two kids be careful," Rin replied as they made their way to the door.
Akio let out a small chuckle as Kagome again felt a blush stain her cheeks. "We will mom," she replied as she pulled the door closed.

InuYasha grumbled as he made his way to his parents estate. They had this unnerving way of calling him when was just about to do something more important.
"Like sleep with the chick that I met yesterday," he murmured as he strode up the stairs and opened the doors.
"You can at least have the decency to knock upon your arrival," Sesshoumaru told him when he barged into the home.
"What crawled in your ass?"
Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes, "come this way, before I literally kill you."
InuYasha smirked, "like you could."
Sesshoumaru halted in his steps as he turned to face the hanyou. "Why do you insist upon being impudent?"
InuYasha opened his mouth to retort –
"In here bakas."
Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes at being called a baka but let it slide. He was acting rather childish, but InuYasha always seemed to manage to get the infantile side to come out of him.
InuYasha walked in ahead of him, and when he made his way into the study he closed the door.
InuYasha raised an eyebrow to see his mother along with some beady eyed geezer that he never met before, but turned his focus to his father, "you summoned?"
Tougaou rolled his eyes at his son's behavior. He knew that his mate told him that he was the spitting image of him, but sometimes he did wish that his son took more after his mother.
He sat in his chair and nodded towards the old demon in the room.
Immediately a blade came to life.
The sound in the room was eerily quite.
InuYasha raised his eyebrow as he looked over the massive blade. "It's badass," he replied after a moment.
Sesshoumaru had to resist choking his brother. Though with the way he looked to the ceiling, Tougaou could tell he was barely keeping it under control.
"Whose is it?"
Three occupants in the room felt their eyes widen, before they each felt the slight tug in their spirits.
"It is your blade, baka," Sesshoumaru told him.
InuYasha turned to face his brother, hackles up, "what is with you?"
He was used to his brother being an ass. That was normal, but this... this weird spite thing mixed with anger... this he did not like.
"Sit," the Inu no Taisho looked at the boys in front of him who could only manage a few minutes at a time to be civil towards each other.
The brothers' locked their golden gaze onto their father's.
InuYasha stuffed his hands in his pockets, but made no move to sit down.
"What is the blade called?"
Tougaou looked up at his youngest son. He felt so tired. "Tetsusaiga."
"You really know nothing of the blade?"
InuYasha could hear the doubt coming from his brother's voice.
"This is the first time I am seeing it," he decided to answer. His father looked too warn out for him to have his usual battle with his brother.
"Why does InuYasha get this blade, father?"
Tougaou bit the inside of his cheek. He knew that there would be questions, but he had hoped for different ones. Better ones.
"This blade was forged to protect," he told his eldest son.
He knew that his son was shooting icy glares of death at him, but that was as much of an answer he was going to get.
InuYasha though, decided to laugh, "I have no one to protect. What are all of you grumbling about?"
He turned to his mom, "I can't believe they dragged you in on this."
Izayoi was at odds with her self. One part of her wanted to smack that smug look off her son's face, but the other half – the more logical side knew …
"It is a family meeting, InuYasha. Do try and take it seriously."
InuYasha rolled his eyes, but slowly the smirk fell from his face. "Fine, what is this dumb piece of crap supposed to do?"
"It is used to keep your youkai at bay," the old flogger answered.
InuYasha raised an eyebrow, "who the hell is this guy?" He turned to his father.
Tougaou glanced over at the elder demon, "this is Totosai. He has been a loyal member of the house for centuries."
InuYasha shook his head, "so he really is an old geezer."
At that precise moment, the giant blade came down upon his head.
The only sound that was made was when InuYasha's body fell in a lump to the floor.
All members in the room turned to face the person that was holding the giant blade. He scratched the back of his head, "I suppose the blade slipped."
Tougaou shook his head, but he could not blame the other demon for hitting his son over the head. Sometimes that boy did need a good beating.
His mate came over to check on the hanyou that was sprawled across the floor. No doubt knocked out from the forceful impact of the blade on his skull.
"He will be okay, won't he?"
The insecurity in his mates voice caused a small smile to cross his face. "You raised him from a pup, and you doubt that little peck on his head was too much?"
She worried her lip, "but it has been so long, Tougaou."
Sesshoumaru arched an eyebrow at his father.
Tougaou looked at Sesshouarmu. He could see the question in his gaze, but he knew that he could not answer it.
'He does not remember.'

"So you don't mind if I take you to this new club, do you?"
Kagome turned to face Akio who was driving his black Tesla. She smiled as she turned back to watch the road, "As long as they don't mind minors."
His eyes widened a moment, "Don't tell me you are still too young to drink?"
The statement seemed absurd coming from his lips. He was already twenty-one, shouldn't she be?
She giggled as she brought a hand to his face, "I am just messing with you. Did you forget that we share the same birthday?"
His eyes widened before a small smirk played across his visage, "Oh, so you did remember?"
Her hand immediately fell from his face.
Kagome was looking pointedly away from him.
'I can't believe I just admitted I remembered his birthday, and I so casually reached across the car to place my hand on his cheek.'
Akio chuckled, "really Kagome-san, you have to stop that."
She looked over at him then.
"You just look too cute when you blush," he told her truthfully.
'Why does he make me feel this way?'
He grabbed her hand, "you ready?"
She arched her eyebrow, but when she looked around, she was surprised that they were already at the club and parked.
"As ready as I'll ever be," she told him candidly.
Akio shook his head, knowing that this was going to be a long, but fun night.

Kagome took a long slurp of her drink, before she giggled.
Akio looked at her a bit uncertainly. "Okay, maybe it is not a good idea to let you drink," he told her with a grin.
She felt the small smile slip from her face. "I can hold my own," she told him as she smacked the tall slender table in between them.
Akio shook his head, "if you say so."
That was enough to appease her, as she immediately went back to drinking out of her straw.
He could not stop the grin as it started to make its way unto his features, "should have known when you asked for a straw," he mumbled to himself.
She stopped drinking to curiously look at him, "what did you say?"
He rolled his eyes as he pulled out his phone. It was already a quarter 'til midnight.
He felt his head droop.
'Damnit.'
He wanted this date to go a completely different way.
Kagome held her head up by her fist stuck cutely to her cheek as she began to slurp from the straw. "You are so cute," she told him suddenly.
His golden eyes widened, before a blush made its way across his face. He knew that she had felt something for him, but to hear her state so forward that she was attracted to him was slightly different.
Slowly, a small grin came over his visage. "And you are so drunk," he told her as he lightly tapped her nose.
She crinkled her nose, but didn't deny his statement.
"So, what's with you and Takahashi-senpai?"
He arched an eyebrow at her, "what do you mean... exactly?"
She lifted he shoulders, "you two are just... hmm... what's the word?" She asked herself as she narrowed her eyelids.
Akio almost laughed. She looked pretty cute when she tried to concentrate as a drunk person.
"Obstinately deliberate in cunningly dismembering each other," she replied suddenly as she snapped her fingers.
His ocher orbs widened.
He felt his shoulders slump, "that wasn't a word."
She casually lifted her shoulder and rolled her eyes, "but it is the phrase that best describes the two of you."
Akio shook his head, "That's sad."
"How so?"
She was not expecting him to look so forlorn.
He lifted his shoulders, "yeah, we do compete for women, but I thought... aside from that... we actually did get along, you know?"
She studied him a moment, "why does it matter if you two get along or not?"
He looked into her swirling depths and let out a small chuckle, "you as a drunk person are actually quite attentive to details."
She blushed. "I told you I am not drunk," she grumbled.
He laughed out loud at that, "okay, it's time to take the not drunk Kagome-chan home then."
She reached for his outstretched hand, "I am glad you finally agree with me."
He didn't miss the slight upturn of her lips.

Grandpa Higurashi tapped his fingers on the table. The waiting was the hard part. The waiting was what always got on his nerves.
The flames danced in the darkened room. The blue embers swirled as the spirits were called forth.
The flames in the blue pit seemed to reach out and caress his eyes.
He picked up the worn bowl and what held to look like ashes in his hands. He dumped a small amount of the ashes in his hands and looked into the flames.
"Ayii numbus galentum," he murmured under his breath as the ashes were slowly dispersed into the flames.
He felt his heart pounding in his chest.
'It seems that all the prophesies were false,' he thought hopefully. The embers slowly boiling down to quiet crackles.
He smiled as he made to grab the water bucket to pour water over the flames when suddenly, the fire turned an angry red.
The water he had been holding falling from his hands.
His eyes widened, "this can't be."
The flames swirled with rage.
His heart felt heavy.
His tears began to fall.
There was only one phrase that he could think of. Only one phrase that he could utter at such a time as this.
It was the one phrase where all his hopes were built and broken.
The one name that he knew better then most.
"Kagome."
He locked his gray eyes onto the flames. His tears still streaming down his face.

Ayii numbus galentum: just a phrase i made up cause I liked the way it sounded :) if it means anything graphic in another language let me know, and I will think of something else.
