She smiled at him, "You know we can't do that."
He gave her a toothy grin as his arms circled around her waist, "who says?"
She turned around in his arms. The blue flame that she held in her palms evaporating immediately. "Your parents will kill you," she told him seriously, but there was a small smile playing on her features.
He rolled his eyes as his shoulders lifted, "that's if they find out," he replied as he nibbled on her ear.
She allowed her head to roll to the side to give him better access. "I am serious," she mumbled. She was slowly loosing control over her senses.
His fangs nipped lightly on her neck as he smirked, "I know."
There was a moment pause as she transfixed her gaze unto his.
She looked into his ocher gaze, "I love you, InuYasha."
He felt his breathing halt as his heart beat erratically in his chest.
"Ka-gome."
He didn't know what else to say. There were no words to describe how absolutely amazing this woman was in front of him.
She looked into his golden eyes. Her eyes beginning to mist over, "you don't have to say it. I know that it might ruin everything that we have built until now... it's just... I can't –"
InuYasha leaned down and ravished her mouth in a kiss.
She widened her eyes, and she succumbed to the feeling of his lips over hers.
Slowly, securely, she kissed him back with reverence – with force, before he broke his mouth away and leaned his forehead against hers, "don't ever change, Kagome."
She smiled as she tightly closed her eyes, "likewise."
She was fine with that, because she knew that he loved her too.
InuYasha opened his eyes and rubbed his head.
"Damn."
It wasn't as if the dreams were annoying per say, but they did give him a rather unfortunate boner in the early hours of the day.
He looked down at his friend that he was getting rather accustomed to seeing early in the morning.
"I feel like I am going through puberty again," he grumbled as he made his way out of his king size bed and into his bathroom.
A shower was definitely in order.
He had stayed late over at his parents house and with a bruising head to boot. He really didn't feel like making the hour drive back to his flat into the city, so he made his way to his old bedroom and with little effort succumbed to his dreams.
But his dreams were even more...
"Sexually stimulating," he grumbled as he looked at his erection in the steaming shower.
As each day passed a new piece to what he deemed fantasy Higruashi-san was added. It was weird. The girl looked like HIgurashi. She acted like Higurashi.
'Hell, she even smells like her,' he thought.
He shook his head, 'but it's not her.'
He knew that without a shadow of a doubt the Higurashi-san he knew was not the same one from his dreams, which was why he brought that page to his father about the doppleganger. He had to be getting haunted by a spirit that is taking on the form of the woman.
'That has to be it.'
He let out a deep breath as he looked over at the smelling salts.
'Going to have to use a couple of those if I want to get rid of this,' he mumbled.
The fog in the bathroom slowly overcoming his senses as he drew neigh to his release.

"Father, mother, I have something important to tell you about Kagome."
She smiled shyly at the two in front of her.
"I want to take her as my mate."
His mother brought her hand to her mouth as his father allowed a small grin to shadow his features.
He felt the woman next to him go stiff.
He clenched his claws in his hands. He had not told her about wanting to mate with her, but with her declaration and all, he supposed that was enough for him to know exactly where she wanted to take the relationship.
"She knows the rituals?"
He locked eyes with his father, "I have explained them to her."
Kagome looked anxiously at the two in front of her. She was a little taken aback by his declaration. She knew he cared deeply. She just didn't know how deep.
The flush on her cheeks increased, 'bad puns.'
InuYasha wrapped his arm securely over her shoulders, bringing her more securely to him.
"And Kagome?"
She slowly looked to his father. He was a rather intimidating man. He was about six inches taller then InuYasha and held an air about him. As if anyone foolish enough to cross him would suffer a greater fate then landing in the seventh hell.
When he got her attention, he continued. "Have you accepted InuYasha as a potential mate?"
She felt his arm stiffen around her. She knew he was doubting himself. He always doubted himself. Even with things he shouldn't have... like her feelings towards him.
"I have."
InuYasha let out the breath he didn't notice he had been holding.
Finally, his mother moved towards the two of them.
"Oh Kagome, I am so glad he chose you. I always thought you were so beautiful," she gushed as she took her hand.
He felt a blush overcome his features, but he would be lying if he didn't get an ego boost by his mothers declaration.
"She is a welcomed member of the family," his father replied as he stood next to his mother.
Without waiting for another approving statement, he took Kagome in his arms and spun her around, before he placed a gentle kiss to her lips.
"I told you they would love you."
Kagome tapped her bed as she reached for the loud ringing alarm that was coming from her phone.
"Where is that dumb thing," she grumbled.
Her head was killing her.
Immediately, her door swung open and the light was flicked on, "how in the blasted hell is that a good thing," she yelled as she quickly brought the covers over her face.
"Mom is on the phone," Souta told her as he marched his way to her bed.
She brought her hands over her eyes. "I just need to lie down for a little longer," she whined.
"It sounds important, neechan."
If her brother did not sound so serious, she would have just told him to tell mom that she would call back.
She looked dazedly at him, "fine."
She made her way slowly to the door.
Souta sat on her bed a moment, before he rolled his eyes. "I don't know why you drink. You were always a horrible drunk," he told her as he placed her arm over his neck.
She rubbed her head, "I can hold my own."
He shook his head, "the number one line for people that can't."
She turned towards him, "you shouldn't be drinking anyways mister."
He allowed a small smirk to play on his face, "I never said I did."
Kagome shook her head, "sure, you don't."
Finally, they made it to the kitchen where Souta left his phone.
He sat her on the couch and then headed back towards the island and grabbed his cell, "I got her, mom."
There was a small pause and then he handed her the phone.
"Hey mom."
It had been a while since she last spoke to her mother. It was not that she didn't want to. She had just been so busy as of late.
"Hey, sweetie."
Kagome widened her eyes. She suddenly felt very alert. Her mother only called her by that name when something was not right.
"Mama?"
To her own ears the confusion was apparent. She looked over at Souta. She suddenly noticed how down his usual spunky demeanor seemed. It was then she noticed that he knew something, but he wanted their mother to tell her.
There was a pause on the line.
"Ojiisan isn't doing very well," she told her finally.
Kagome tightly closed her eyes. The statement sounded so worn – so clouded with all the emotion her mother must be feeling.
"Is it bad," she felt her eyes misting over.
"It doesn't look good."
She nodded her head silently as a tear fell.
"You two will come home today, won't you?"
Her mother sounded so broken. Grandpa was all her mother had left after father's death, and she knew that they would all take this to heart.
She quickly nodded her head, "we will get on the first train," she promised.
"I will see you soon then."
Kagome sniffled, "yeah."

Miroku looked over at Sango.
It had been about two days, since Kagome and Souta left, and he could tell that it was wearing on the rest of the girls from Aishiteru.
Sango was walking back and forth in the front room rubbing her hands up and down her arms.
He looked over at Rin who was nibbling her bottom lip to death that in about five minutes he was sure it would be raw.
Finally, he looked over at his wolf friend. She seemed the most calm – most collected, but he knew that she was at war with herself as much, if not more then the two other women in the room.
"Why don't you call Kagome-san?"
The three ladies turned towards him.
"We can't just do that!"
"She might need time," Sango mumbled.
"She will call if she needs us," Ayame replied as she began to shake her leg.
Miroku shook his head as he stood up, "well I just can't take it anymore. We have been doing the same thing since they left, so we either need to call her or go visit her."
He slowly watched as each of their eyes widened.
"We should do that," Rin replied as a smile made its way onto her face.
Ayame nodded her head, "she would want us there."
Sango started making her way down the hallway, "I am going to start packing my bags."
Miroku stood in the center of the of the room for a moment. His mouth just hanging open, before a small smile crossed his face. He shook his head, "it's been a while since I've seen mama Higurashi-san."
Immediately, the three women turned towards him.
"Hentai!"
"How can you go and think a thing like that?" Rin asked as she shoved his shoulder.
"Don't make me kill you," Ayame grumbled as she got close.
Miroku felt his sweat drop, "what did I say?"

"Today is the day," Kagome stated aloud as she rubbed her hands together.
She and Souta arrived at the shrine two days prior, and immediately made their way to the hospital their grandpa was located but just seeing him lying in the bed and his life failing him. It was too much, so Kagome passed on going to see him.
Souta slowly knocked on her door.
She turned to him.
He gave her a small smile.
She was grateful that he was being so mature. He was always so mature. She was the one that had a problem with death and dying.
"It's time, neechan," he told her as he stepped into her room.
She bit her bottom lip self-consciously. The feeling of dread was overcoming her.
"Okay," she replied nodding her head.
Souta looked over his sister. He could tell that she was forcing herself to go.
He looked down at the cream carpet, "you shouldn't go unless you are absolutely certain."
She widened her blue eyes, "is he that bad?"
Neither her brother nor her mother had told her how bad her grandfather was. They only told her things like 'things don't look good,' but that could mean hundreds of things... but this... no this was real.
He tightly closed his eyes and roughly shook his head.
He could not bring himself to look at her.
She collapsed unto the floor. She slowly shook her head back and forth, "grandpa."
It was the only phrase that could make its way out of her mouth.
She covered her face in her hands as she let her tears fall.
Souta looked over at his sister and fell unto the ground next to her. He slowly encircled her in his arms, "you should see him, neechan. He keeps asking about you."
He knew it would hurt her, but she needed to know.
"Oh god," she replied as she held unto her little brother.
She felt so selfish. She was only thinking about herself that was all she ever managed to do. "He will hate me," she mumbled out. Here she was only thinking about herself, and he was asking about her.
Souta pulled away from her and shook her, "stop doing that!"
She looked up at him. Her lips quivering. "It has to be my fault otouto. It is always my fault."
His grip on her arms became tighter, "you need to stop thinking like that."
She tightly closed her eyes. The tears falling down her face.
"Why do you think I haven't gone in there, Souta?"
She looked into her brothers azure orbs. His eyes misting over. He was trying to hold back his tears. He was trying to be the man that his family called him to be.
"Don't you dare," he told her seriously.
She brought her hands to her eyes as she rubbed ferociously at her orbs. She deserved to feel this pain – to hold this burden. No one else merited it.
"Everyone dies that I see."
Souta let go of his sister. "You know what neechan, fine. Hold the burden on yourself... like you always do. Act like you are the only one that is suffering. Hope that makes you sleep better at night," he told her with anger as he left her room.
The only noise was the sound of her door slam reverberating off her bedroom walls.

There was a rough knock on the front door. The man inside made his way quickly to the entrance of the large house.
The door swung open, "Ah, what a pleasant surprise," the man inside the home grumbled.
He looked to the dark haired male who rolled his eyes but made his way gruffly inside the home.
Akio pushed on his chest, "I do believe a vampire needs to be invited in."
Ocher eyes collided.
"Look who is a vampire, dip shit," he replied pointing to his red hair.
Akio rolled his eyes, "I am getting rather doleful by your lack of ingenuity when you think of your comebacks, cousin."
InuYasha narrowed his eyes, "remove your hand, before I remove it permanently."
The red haired male let out a long sigh. "I do not receive respect even in my sires home," he replied as he let his hand fall.
InuYasha pushed passed him gruffly.
Akio clenched his fist. He was getting rather annoyed with the man's behavior.
"Akio-kun."
Akio's eyes widened as he turned to welcome his next guest. "Oji, welcome," he told him with open arms.
Tougaou smiled. "You know you are like a son to me," he told him as he embraced him in hug.
Akio laughed but returned the sentiment.
"And where is the lovely lady of the house?"
Izayoi slowly made her way up the small set of stairs and waved at him. "You better come and give your second mother a hug," she ordered.
He laughed, although he would never deny that the two of them did truly feel like second parents to him.

I had a long dream last night about where I wanted to take this story, and I came up with a lot of great ideas and plot twist, so I hope you all bare with me as I write the jumbled mess in my mind and give it to you to read :)
