She's mine…Kagome is mine

 

Was one of the only thoughts Inuyasha could entertain at the moment. Kagome was curled up beside him sleeping, her breathing nice and even. She was safe with him, but he was a little on the edge.

 

Anyone who touches her will be sorry…

 

Inuyasha put his arms around her a low growl vibrating in his chest, though it didn't seem to faze the sleeping girl in his arms.

 

They will pay…no one touches what's mine…

 

He had spent most of the night trying to think of a way to get her to leave, just get her go away to where she'd be safe. Once he finally fell asleep he had the worst dream he could imagine. Naraku had taken her from him, and killed her, didn't just kill her tortured her and then killed. He then, at that time, decided that she'd never leave his side. No one could protect her better then him; no one cared about her as much as he did.

 

Not Miroku, not Kouga, not Sesshomaru, and not Naraku…Anyone who does will die…

 

Inuyasha could feel Kagome cuddle up against him. He kissed her forehead his growl dieing down, his thinking coming more rationally then a few seconds ago.

 

“Morning Inuyasha.” Kagome yawned slightly her eyes barely opening.

 

“Morning…” Inuyasha said kissing her tenderly as they sat up.

 

Kagome smiled at him when he pulled back, but it soon dropped when she noticed something. His eyes. His eyes were tainted with scarlet. “What's wrong Inuyasha?”

 

“Nothing why?” Inuyasha asked looking down at her with concern.

 

“Your eyes…” Kagome gulped putting her hand to his cheek. “They look a little red…”

 

Inuyasha clenched his eyes shut and then opened them again. “Everything's fine Kagome…” Inuyasha mumbled. Kagome had never seen his other side, and he intended to keep it that way. He had only changed into a full demon once, but Kagome was knocked out, he couldn't remember any of it and had woken up back at their apartment somehow with Kagome securely in his lap.

 

“You sure?” Kagome asked him worriedly.

 

“Yeah I'm sure.” Inuyasha said putting his forehead to hers. “No worries baby.”

 

Kagome nodded, worry still slightly visible in her eyes. “If you say so…”

 

Inuyasha kissed her lightly and then said, “Don't worry about it; I just had a long night.”

 

Kagome nodded again saying, “Yeah we all did…”

 

“We should go down stairs, and see how everyone is.” Inuyasha said standing up from the bed. “Have some breakfast or something…”

 

Kagome followed after him quietly. She had done some research on demons the year before she met Inuyasha and had come across how hanyou's sometimes change into their demon form which is completely primal. When she saw red clouding his eyes, which was one of the signs mentioned, she got worried. She still was; he wouldn't tell her what was wrong but there obviously was something.

 

“Hey guys you sleep at all?” Inuyasha asked as he looked at his two friends who were sitting together on the couch watching T.V.

 

“Yeah we only woke up about an hour ago.” Miroku said looking back at Inuyasha and Kagome.

 

“Who say's I'm awake?” Sango grumbled.

 

“You just did.” Kagome said with a grin before she walked into the kitchen. “So what should we eat?”

 

“Pancakes!” Sango called out.

 

“Eggs!” Miroku said after Sango said her request.

 

“Ramen!”

 

“Inuyasha!” The three of them scolded.

 

“Corn-beef hash!” Inuyasha corrected himself.

“Inuyasha calm down.” Kagome said as she tried to keep him from tearing Kouga apart. “Please…”

 

Inuyasha growled at her grabbing a hold of her hips pulling her closer to him. His eyes were clouded with red, though there was still some gold in them.

 

Kagome winced as she felt his claws sink into her hips slightly. “Inuyasha…” She gulped trying not to sound like she was being affected by the pain. “You…need to calm down…”

 

“Inuyasha let Kagome go.” Miroku said as he gently pushed Sango behind him. “You're not mad at her, you're mad at Kouga, so don't hurt Kagome hurt Kouga.”

 

“Miroku don't tell him that.” Kagome growled. “He might hurt me a little, but he'll kill Kouga, and as dumb as Kouga is he's still useful.”

 

“You dumb mutt let her g-“ Kouga cut himself off with a yelp as Sango kicked him in the gut where Inuyasha had punched him.

 

“Shut it!” Sango glared down at the wolf.

 

Inuyasha's growl lightened a little as he looked down at Kagome who kept her gaze down. “Look at me Kago…” Inuyasha growled barely high enough for Kagome to hear.

 

Kagome looked up at him and she felt Inuyasha loosen his grip, his claws slipping from her skin. “Yes Inuyasha…” Kagome murmured.

 

Inuyasha growled in approval when she met his gaze, and then glared over at Kouga and said, his eyes slowly turning back to gold, “Get out of my house Kouga, and don't expect to get paid for the next month or so…”

 

Kouga nodded and scrambled to his feet before running out the door.

 

“Inuyasha?” Sango and Miroku questioned.

 

“I'm fine now…” Inuyasha said as he looked at his friends before looking back at his girlfriend. “I'm sorry…”

 

“S'okay…” Kagome said smiling softly at him. “Nothing too bad.”

 

Inuyasha looked down at her hips and noticed the blood. “Kagome…”

 

“I know you didn't mean it.” Kagome said hugging him before she headed for the stairs. “I'm going to go change, ok?”

 

“Okay…” Inuyasha said watching her go up stairs before looking at Sango and Miroku. “I didn't hurt anyone else right?”

 

“Besides Kouga, no.” Miroku said as he walked over to the couch with Sango and they sat down.

 

“What happened that started this all?” Inuyasha asked still standing in the same spot.

 

“Kouga came by to give you some information and started hitting on Kagome.” Sango gave him the shortened version.

 

“What I want to know is what set you off Inuyasha?” Miroku asked looking over at his friend.

 

Inuyasha walked over and sat on one of the chairs. “He said something about taking Kagome away…At least I think that's what it is.”

 

“Yeah he said that he'd take her away from all this…” Sango said looking over at him.

 

“Then that's it…” Inuyasha said as he stood up. “I've been on edge all day, since last night.”

 

“Where are you going?” Sango questioned as Inuyasha headed for the stairs.

 

“I'm going to make sure Kagome forgives me.” Inuyasha said before he walked up the steps.
