“Inuyasha I know that I said I would spar with you, but this isn't sparing.” Kagome said as Inuyasha grabbed her hands away from his ears and put them above her head as he kissed and licked her neck roughly.

 

Inuyasha pulled back for a while and said, “You lost, I'm taking my reward.”

 

“You cheated.” Kagome said shaking her head as she looked up at him.

 

“I did not.” Inuyasha said with a smirk. “You never said I couldn't kiss you, in order to get you on the ground.”

 

“Cheater.” Kagome grumbled as Inuyasha went back to what he was doing, which was causing her to squirm.

 

“Inuyasha, Kago….” Sango stopped talking and turned around. “I was just coming to say that because for some reason we can't sleep we're getting snacks, and was wondering what you wanted.”

 

“Strawberries.” Kagome said with a blush as she hit Inuyasha to make him stop.

 

Inuyasha smirked down at her as he said, “Whip-cream and ice-cream.”

 

“Right, me and Miroku will be back in a while.” Sango said as she walked out and shut the door.

 

“Get off.” Kagome whined pushing at his chest.

 

“Aww but Kagome I was having so much fun.” Inuyasha said before giving her a quick kiss. “You were too.”

 

“No…” Kagome said pouting.

 

Inuyasha chuckled before moving off her. “Don't pout like that.” Inuyasha said kissing her. “It makes you look too cute.”

 

“AHHH.”

 

Inuyasha and Kagome jumped up and grabbed one sword each as they ran out the door. Once out there they saw Sango standing over a knocked out Miroku, the only difference this time was, in front of them was a man with medium length black hair, and red eyes, who was in a nice black suit.

 

“Inuyasha it's nice to finally meet you.” He said with a dark smile. “Ever since your brother hired you and your friends I've been following you closely. And I must say that you're all very impressive.”

 

“Who are you and what do you want?” Inuyasha growled as Kagome and Sango moved Miroku out of the way.

 

“My name's Naraku.” He said as he started walking towards him. “And I'm here to hire you and your friends.”

 

“Not if my life depended on it.” Inuyasha growled raising his sword when Naraku got too close. “So get out of my house.”

 

“Well then I'm here to tell you to enjoy your vacation because when you get back I'll be sending some one out here to destroy you and your friends.” Naraku said as he wiped nonexistent dust from his sleeve.

 

“Crazy ba-“

 

“Ahhh…Inuyasha no need for name calling.” Naraku said glaring at Inuyasha. “After all your loved ones are so close, and can be hurt so easily.”

 

Inuyasha's eyes darted from Naraku to Kagome then back to Naraku. “Touch them and you won't live long enough to see what hit you.”

 

“Empty threat.” Naraku said as he turned and walked away. “Have a nice vacation; I'll be back in a week. If you're not here I will come for you.”

 

Once he shut the door Inuyasha dropped the sword and looked at his friends, and his girlfriend. Miroku had awakened and was now sitting up. Kagome was looking at him with that look; that look that he hated from the first time he saw it. That depressed, not again look that she got every time Sesshomaru gave them a job. “Come here…” Inuyasha said looking at Kagome. When she didn't move he repeated himself in a low growl.

 

Kagome walked over to him and then followed him upstairs. She hated when Inuyasha treated her like she'd break if she left his sight; even if it did make her feel better. They fell into a routine when they were working for Sesshomaru. They got the call, they spent the day watching T.V. and eating comfort food, then Kagome would spend the night in Inuyasha's room and they'd just kind of cuddle.

 

Once they reached Inuyasha's room Kagome found herself in Inuyasha's arms with him saying, “I'm sorry Kagome.”

 

“What for?” Kagome asked quietly.

 

“For everything…” Inuyasha said as he brought them down so they were sitting on their knees.

 

“You've already apologized for that…” Kagome said as Inuyasha moved so he was leaning against his bed and then she sat in-between his legs with her back to him. “You don't need to again.”

 

“I never said I was sorry for picking that fight with you on the first day of school, and that my brother met your mother, and that I got you into this mess and so many others.” Inuyasha said into her shoulder, his arms around her waist.

 

“If you didn't pick that fight we wouldn't have gotten together…” Kagome said softly.

 

“I know.” Inuyasha said biting his lip so hard it bled. “If we hadn't, you wouldn't be in so much danger.”

 

Kagome turned around and smacked him across the face before he could have stopped her. “You stupid jerk.” Kagome said barely above a whisper. She was so mad she was shaking. “Don't you dare tell me that you wish we weren't together.”

 

“If it kept you safe I wish I never saw you.” Inuyasha said closing his eyes as her fist connected with his cheek instead of just her palm.

 

“Never say such a dumb thing!” Kagome cried. “I don't care how selfish I sound, I wouldn't change a thing if it meant that I'd be with you.”

 

“It's true though.” Inuyasha said licking his bottom lip of blood even though it ran down his chin and dripped onto his pant-leg. His words caused Kagome's fist to come down at him again. He was just a selfish as her, probably more. He wouldn't tell her to leave him even if it would save her, but he couldn't stop her from leaving him. He wouldn't hurt her. So he'd let her punch him until she left.

 

“Stop that Inuyasha.” Kagome said tears clouding her vision. “Stop trying to push me away. If you want me to leave then tell me. I won't force my presence on you.”

 

Inuyasha bit into the other side of his lip making it bleed. He couldn't say it. He couldn't tell her to leave. He didn't want her to. “You'd be so much safer though.”

 

“I'm not leaving till I hear you say “Kagome go away, leave me alone, and don't come back” in any combination.” Kagome said as she glared at him.

 

“Can't you just understand?” Inuyasha said looking up at her, she had shifted onto her knees. “Can't you just keep yourself safe? I can't do it anymore.”

 

Kagome punched him again. “Tell me what you want me to do Inuyasha, or I'm just going to keep punching you every time you say something I don't like.”

 

“I want you to stay. I need you to stay, but it's not safe for you here.” Inuyasha said closing his eyes. “I need you Kagome…”

 

Kagome smiled even though he couldn't see her. “I understand.”

 

Inuyasha expected her to get up and go, but she didn't. His eyes shot open when her tongue touched his chin and went up to his lip, and then repeated the action on the other side. He had done this for her, cleaned her wounds like this, but he never expected her to do what she was doing like she was doing it.

 

Kagome's eyes were closed and she could feel his eyes burning into her as she did that. She kissed him lightly and then looked at him. “I understand that you need me with you.”
