~Decisions~
Kagome had never felt true hate or rage it just wasn't in her way to harbor those types of negative feelings, but ever since Inuyasha MacEnroy arrived at the Convent she had a feeling that her emotions were borderline on those two nasty and awful things.
Quickly she pulled her gown over her head and fastened her robes taking one last look at her bed she flinched when her eyes once again made contact with the blood stained quilt.
"I swear on all that is holy that ye will pay for this MacEnroy."
Turning her back she yanked the door open, and with a deep breath and determined steps Kagome made her way out to the courtyard.
Once she reached the courtyard a silent alarm went of in her head something was wrong everything was too quiet. The tension in the air was so thick that she felt like she would choke on it.
Suddenly a voice rang loud and clear breaking through the silence, but doing nothing for the tension. "Kagome ye must stop them!"
In the clearing Kagome spotted the face that matched the voice. It was Sango.
Kagome ran forward catching Sango in her arms she stilled the panicked woman shushing her as best she could. "Sango. Shh. Calm down. Breath lass." Kagome knew the sound of battle frightened Sango, but the reason why was unknown once Kagome had Sango under control she looked into Sango wide and frightful dark brown eyes. "Stop who?"
Sango didn't bother answering her she pointed in the direction where the sounds of battle could be heard faintly.
Nodding her thanks Kagome stood making her way toward the sounds like a moth drawn to light she forced her way through the crowd of nuns and sweaty men to the two warriors locked in battle.
Both men moved swiftly striking out at each other with deadly precision one wrong move could be fatal. Kagome watched in fascination as Inuyasha's sword was knocked from his hands she watched in horror as her father swung his sword with deadly force and intent downward to connect with Inuyasha's neck, it was then that everything slowed down and sped up all at once.
Kagome had no clue as to what kind of madness had seized her, but she had no time to think, she had to act fast in order to save this man's life. Flinging herself over Inuyasha's body she silently prayed that her father's blade stopped in time.
"WAIT!" She screamed as she landed on top of Inuyasha. "Please dinnae kill him papa."
Angus Murray stopped his blow in mid swing. He was battle weary surely his eyes were playing tricks, because the last person he expected to see protecting his enemy would be his daughter. He blinked a few times but sure enough it was her laying on top the youngest MacEnroy. He knew he was too late, and that the MacEnroy boy had bested him as he had promised to do, and to see the proof with his own eyes only served to fuel his anger.
Inuyasha was and had been fully prepared to die, but the last thing that he expected was to be saved by his wife, which at the moment seemed relieved that her father had put down his sword.
Angus Murray was a man well into his graying years a man of 50 and 2 years he was strict and disciplined something he was beginning to think he should have taught his daughter before sending her away to the Convent.
Kagome cringed when her father yanked her away from her husband roughfully.
"Are ye stupid lass?" He yelled his voice strong and deep with a Scottish twang.
Kagome face was red with humility, and anger it had been years since she had been belittle so cruelly, and so openly. Sadly, the same man did it every time. "Nay."
Her father shook her a little. "Ye did a stupid thing!" He sneered. "So ye must be stupid."
She felt the hot sting of tears behind her eyes, but she refused to let them come she just sat there stiffly in her father's grip with her head hung low, and her eyes averted gazing down at the ground her feet did not touch.
Inuyasha had had enough. He owed his life to the very woman who was being treated so miserably, and by her own father. It was disgusting.
"Angus let the lass go, yer problem is with me."
Angus's eyes narrowed slightly on his daughter his gripped tightened on Kagome's arm briefly before he tossed her aside and turned to Inuyasha.
"Yer right my problem is with ye."
Without so much as looking at Kagome Inuyasha motioned for a man to come to his side after a few moments of shared whispers went by the man went to Kagome's side and helped her up on her feet.
"Kagome this is Miroku he is a close friend of mine and will protect ye with his life." Inuyasha paused for moment before resuming. "He will escort ye back to yer chambers. "
As Kagome turned to leave she heard Inuyasha call out to her. She turned to face him as he spoke. "I will summon ye when ye are needed so until then do not leave yer room."
She glared at him before plastering on a sweet angelic smile. "If it is yer will husband." Satisfied with the look of shock that crossed her father's face, and the pure look of astonishment and curiosity that passed over Inuyasha's she curtsied and took a hold of the man call Miroku's arm.

When Kagome finally exited with Miroku from the courtyard and many of the nuns and men dispersed Mother Superior approached both Angus and Inuyasha.
"Would ye two like to speak privately in the conference room?"
Both men looked at each other in disgust before Angus broke the silence.
"I guess that's nay a bad idea, but do ye have some grub for a weary warrior and his men Mother?"
Mother Superior nodded. "Aye, I do but if ye want to be fed ye must promise not to fight anymore while yer within the convent walls."
Angus grudgingly agreed and as did Inuyasha even though his clan had already been fed.

"Wot do ye want MacEnroy?" Angus Murray questioned as he ate on the stew he had been given. "Don't ye have some bonnie little whore ye should be saddling up with right now?"
Inuyasha ignored his comment. He took a seat a cross the table from Angus before smirking. "Peace and Prosperity."
"Tut! And wot's my daughter got to do with this?"
"Ye know wot she's got to do with this!" Inuyasha growled.
Angus stopped eating and gulped down the stew that was still left in his mouth. "I'm afraid I do nay know wot ye speak of."
"Bullshit old man."
Angus's cold, dark eyes narrowed to slits. "Ye show more respect to yer elders boy."
Inuyasha's eye remained emotionless as he lounged back in his chair. "I will show ye respect when ye start showing a little more courtesy to my wife." He paused as he took time to smirk sarcastically. "Ye know she is yer daughter after all."
"I'll treat her how she deserves to be treated especially after this act of stupidity." The Murray Laird grumbled.
"Ye should really stop blaming her." Inuyasha drawled as he idly drummed his fingers on the arm of his chair. "Tis nay her fault."
Angus Murray watched as Inuyasha MacEnroy closely. "Ye tricked her?" He asked.
The dark haired male stretched lazily. "Aye." Inuyasha replied arrogance evident in his voice. "That I did, and I have also bedded her."
"Ye lie! Tis impossible, ye haven't had enough time."
"Say who?" Inuyasha asked as he lifted an eyebrow cockily.
Angus sighed and acknowledged momentary defeat. "So ye've bested me this time." He grabbed his goblet and took a deep drink of wine. "So wot does yer brother think of all of this.
Inuyasha rolled his eyes at the mention his brother, the current MacEnroy Laird. "Haven't a clue, because I didn't mention my plans of this to him."
"He will be angry."
"Tis not my problem he's nay the one whom is now related a traitorous bastard like yerself, anyhow I did him a favor." He paused before picking up his own wine filled goblet. "Which brings us back to wot Kagome has to do with this."
"And?" Angus asked as he continued to eat on his stew.
Inuyasha sighed as he focused his cold amber eyes on Angus Murray. "I know of yer dealings with an outlaw clan, which one, I'm not sure, but I shall know soon enough because ye are going to tell me."
Inuyasha watched as Angus cocked his head back and laughed. "Ah, MacEnroy ye never cease to amaze me yer like yer mother, yer too blasted nosy for yer own good." When his laughter died down abruptly he leveled Inuyasha with a cold glare. "I will tell ye nothing of my dealing except for this." He paused as he stood and walked over to the crackling fire.
"Kagome has been promised to another and by interfering ye have just made yerself an enemy to a rather dangerous man."
"Feh, I'm scared." Inuyasha claimed sarcastically. "I can handle my own."
Inuyasha watched as the man continued to stare into the fire. "There's more yer not telling me, and I assume ye will nay."
Angus turned and faced Inuyasha. "So I guess we cannae annul this farce of a marriage ye have with my daughter?
"Nay."
Angus grunted. "Fine, if that is the way things must be, But I have a condition."
"And that is."
"If ye want our people to live in peace and prosperity ye must leave Kagome at the Convent." Angus said slowly.
"And if she is pregnant?" Inuyasha asked coldly.
"We will cross that bridge when we come to it."
Inuyasha thought of this condition and wasn't surprised that he didn't like it a bit but the needs of the people came first.
"Fine." He bit out. "I agree."
***
It was well after sunrise before Inuyasha sent for Kagome. She had spent most of her time pondering on what the future held for her, and stripping her bed down. The sheets were evidence enough of her loss of innocence. And that in it's self was more than Kagome was ready to handle.
Kagome had gotten little or no sleep since being sent to her room. She hated the feeling of being that helpless little girl she had been so many years ago. Here she was once again powerless, but she vowed that things wouldn't always remain that way.
As she sat and stared out the small window in her room she saw how the Convent nuns went on with their normal routine. Prayer in the morning, breakfast afterward, and a quick intermission after that, but she wasn't allowed to fall into the routine she had been so use to...No she had to wait, and once again let a man decide her fate.
Kagome was snapped out of her bitter thoughts when Miroku opened her door and greeted her with a pleasant smile.
"Inuyasha has called ye to his side, Milady."
Kagome smile at Miroku he was a tall man with a rather dark shade of brown hair that could almost be mistaken for black unless one was close enough to see it's real shade. He also had the most peculiar yet knowing eyes she had ever seen they were like onyx pools that could see into your soul...Devil's eyes.
As Miroku led her to the conference room she stiffened her spine. Kagome paused as she saw how both men stood stiffly but proudly on opposite ends of the table. She found herself caught off guard when someone cleared their throat she looked around and saw her husband's outstretched hand, and stiffly if not hesitantly went to accept it.
Inuyasha ignored her hesitance and paid more attention to the dark circles around her eyes, a tell-tale sign that she hadn't gotten enough sleep not to mention she was deathly pale.
"Ye summoned, husband?" Kagome asked with a hint of sarcasm.
The small bit of sarcasm didn't go unnoticed by Inuyasha or Angus.
"Aye that I did." He said with a charming and very disarming smile.
Angus stood with is arms folded across his chest. "Lass, yer husband, and I have come to a few decisions."
Kagome held her chin high. "Really, and those would be?"
"We have decided to stop our warring an become allies." Inuyasha replied gruffly.
Kagome nodded. "What else?"
Angus turned scornful eyes onto Kagome. "Ye are a foolish lass, but seeing that ye did nay know whom ye welcomed between yer legs-"
Kagome interrupted him. "What else?" She asked with a little more force.
Both men grew silent and Kagome felt Inuyasha grip on her finger tighten briefly. Then her father spoke. "We've decided that ye shall remain here at the Convent."
Kagome turned a questioning gaze on her husband who just stared at her.
"If it tis my father and husband's will then I shall happily remain at the Convent."
Angus nodded. "Good." Turning his back on his daughter sickened by the sight of her. "We'll be leaving at noon, so ye should say yer good bye's properly god only know how long it'll be before ye'll actually are in the presence of a man again."
Angus Murray made his way over to the door and yanked it open murmuring something about carpet-licking no good nuns, needing the firm hand of a real man and not some holy being.
When the door slammed shut Kagome couldn't describe the feeling of unwant she felt in her chest, but she one thing she did feel no matter how small it was, was happiness because she was staying here in the only home she had ever known.
When she looked at Inuyasha she was surprised when he turned his back on her much like what her father did and walked out without so much as a goodbye or a fare-the-well.
"Well." She thought as she kicked at absolutely nothing. "Good Riddance!"
2 Months Later
Kagome added the long column of numbers for the second time, confirming her pervious calculations before closing the leather-bound ledger. Kagome favored the work she did at the Convent, it challenged her wit and intelligence, keeping her mind sharp. Numbers and calculations had never been a problem for her they had always been clear and understandable. (A/N: Unlike for me I suck at math!)
Kagome found that she liked numbers more than she did life, because with numbers there are no errors, but with life it was a different story. Kagome stood with a slow stretch, easing the ache in her lower back. She had been sitting most of the morning and well into the afternoon working on the ledgers.
She looked around the small stone room. It was cozy with its stone fireplace, wooden table, and an uncomfortable stone bench. Most would think that her life at the Convent was restrictive, but to her it was a blessing especially after the little escapade 2 months ago.
Something she refused to admit was that when her marriage was consummated that her husband's seed fell on to fertile ground. It was hard to remain in denial since her monthly hasn't come since before Inuyasha MacEnroy arrived. Not to mention her hardy appetite, she found herself eating way more then usual.
When the heavenly smell of food assaulted her senses in the tight confines of the ledger room Kagome found herself running out the door and taking the steps two at a time just to reach the dining room.
Upon reaching the dining area she ran into an elder nun soundly scolding Sango MacLean. Sango was a very spirited lass, one who didn't like being caged within the walls of the Convent. Even though it was thought to be best for her own health.
During the time that Sango had been here Kagome had grown to love and trust her like a sister. Kagome delayed her meal briefly and walked over to where the elder scolded Sango.
"Wot has Sango done now, Shiori?" Kagome asked as she slipped a steady arm around Sango's shoulders.
Sister Shiori cold blue eyes narrowed she didn't much like either of the girls who stood before her. Both Kagome, and Sango were ungrateful little wenches and if it were left up to her Kagome would have been cast aside months ago.
Sango on the other hand was hateful, and very challenging. Shiori had tried to tame the girl using what she believed to be "Holy Punishments", but to no avail she failed, and was punished herself when Mother Superior found out.
"This has nothing to do with ye Kagome so be on yer way."
Kagome smiled pleasantly as she grabbed a hold of Sango hand. "Well if ye don't mind Sango is need elsewhere."
Sango fought down the urge to laugh out loud when she saw the look and Sister Shiori face. "Kagome ye shouldna done that."
"I wasn't about to let that bitter old woman scold ye for hours on end."
Sango threw her head back and laughed into her hand. "Ye are right about the bitter part."
Both young women engaged in idle chitchat as they ate one the hearty meal placed in front of them.
Sango lifted a slice of apple and stuck it to her mouth. "So are ye." She asked out of the clear blue.
"Am I wot?" Kagome asked already knowing what Sango asked.
"Pregnant, duh!"
"Shh." Kagome said as she looked around making sure they gained no one else's attention. "Sango ye already know."
Sango looked at her with a mischievous smirk. "And how do ye know that?"
"Because ye snooped outside Mother Superiors while I was speaking to her yesterday."
"Aww, alright so I snooped no harm done." Sango replied sheepishly.
Kagome's eye's shot up. "So ye really did snoop I was just jesting then."
Sango was about to reply when the door flew open and Mother Superior burst into the room.
Kagome and Sango watched wide-eyed as Mother Superior march right up to them.
Sango put her hands up in the air. "I didn't do it!"
Mother Superior smiled sadly, but shook her head. "I wish that were the case this time Sango."
When Mother Superior just stopped there Kagome became worried. "Wot is it Kaede? Wot's wrong?"
Kaede sighed knowing that she could delay any longer she watched as Kagome skin began to lose color as she spoke. "Child it's yer husband, he is back…"
The room suddenly became unbearably hot, and then all of the sudden it became harder to breathe. "Inuyasha's back?" She managed choked out.
Mother Superior nodded, and wasn't too surprised when she saw Kagome's eye roll upward and the young woman fall in to a dead faint.
