Opportunity

She closed her eyes in pain when Inuyasha jerked away from her. His knot was pulling at her entrance and it felt like it was tearing her apart. Finally she screamed distress.

"Inuyasha stop!" She cried out grabbing onto his body to hold him close to her.

Soon everything was still and silent. The only thing that could be heard was their breathing.

"Kagome…." Came a hoarse whisper.

"What happened?" She asked him as he stared into her eyes.

A smile appeared on his face, a fang hanging over his lip. Kagome's eyes widened in disbelief. Nuzzling his head against hers he pushed his lower body further into her, trying to make it comfortable for the both of them.

"I knew it." He said with a smirk.

An instant later Kagome's hands were on his ears rubbing them.

"I love them!!!" She squealed.

"Oi! Woman! Stop!" he said in protest, until it started to become pleasuring. Then he began to whimper, rubbing his head against her chest as he moved down ward.

Coming to her senses, Kagome pushed him away tucking herself under the covers, before he could see her nude form again.

"Tell me what is going on." She demanded sitting up.

With a rejected look upon his face he grabbed his boxers with a sigh. "Hanyous don't turn into their true form until they meet their so-called soul mate. I didn't think it would happen that way…" He crossed his arms, returning back to his stubborn self.

"Do you understand it?!" He questioned becoming short with her.

"I guess… so that means we are soul mates?"

"Hmph. Yeah, we are. It's not that hard of a concept."

"But what about your brother?" She asked, confused.

"My brother is full youkai, Kag, you know that."

"Oh… okay." She blushed as she caught a glimpse of her clothes on the ground.

"Yash?" She asked with an innocent smile.

"What is it wench?"

"Can…well can you get my clothes?"

"I already saw you naked."

"Yeah but this is different!"

"No, get them yourself." He said standing up and stretching as he looked into his floor length mirror. "I look good…." He said to himself flexing his fingers.

"Get my clothes, Inuyasha!"

With a grin he nodded and picked them all up, heading towards the laundry basket. Along the way he grabbed the rest of his clothes off the ground, and then pulled off all the covers on the bed.

"I'm sorry, we're you using that?" Inuyasha said putting all the things away and out of her reach.

"Fine. I will just grab one of your t-shirts." Kagome retorted getting off the bed and rushing to his dresser. Just before she could open up his shirt drawer he was in front of her.

"No way! These are my clothes."

"But you let me wear them before!"

"That was before I saw your beautiful body."

"Inuyasha…" She threatened, her eyes narrowing.

"What Kagome?" He asked with a grin.

"I am not walking around naked!!"

"But you shouldn't cover that body of yours up." Inuyasha said moving closer to her.

Kagome stepped back with a scowl on her face.

"Come on, Kag." He said wrapping his arms around her waist.

"No… don't do this…" She said half-heartedly. She loved they way his body felt against hers, and now there was an almost insane feeling of complete comfort when he held her like that.

Almost as instinct, Kagome's hands went to his head yet again and began to massage the base of his ears. Inuyasha whimpered into her neck, dropping his guard for those few seconds. Then as quickly as it started it was gone. Kagome ran across the room grabbed the laundry basket and went into the bathroom where she locked the door. She dressed quickly into her underwear and begun to brush her hair with his brush.

Then, suddenly, there was a very low growl coming from outside the door. Kagome felt extremely afraid of it, like she was going to be punished. She lowered her head and unlocked the door. With a pained expression she opened the door.

"I'm sorry." She said, tearing up.

Inuyasha's hand went to her shoulder, tracing circles down her arm. His arms swiftly took her into their embrace as he rubbed the side of his face around her neck.

"From now on, you only shower when I know about it. I do not want my scent fading from you." Since he didn't give her room to deny him, she just nodded, trying to hold back the tears.

"Stop crying, Kagome. You just need to learn your place." He whispered into her ear.

"I understand that you are half-demon… but I will not be controlled." She said with determination as she turned her head away from him.

Inuyasha growled just before embracing her tightly.

"We should get some sleep… wait till tomorrow… then we can ask my brother or maybe Myouga about this." When she nodded her head in agreement he took her by the hand and led her to the bed, grabbing the sheets along the way. The hanyou made the bed quickly and laid her down, lying beside her. His arms snaked around her waist and held her possessively.

Then, unexpectedly, he whispered into her ear. "Kagome, marry me. Promise you'll stay with me…."

Her heart froze in her chest. Was he delirious? She sighed, knowing that tone of his voice.

"Yes, of course, Inuyasha. Yes. Yes…" She smiled, closing her eyes.

"Well, can I at least give you a kiss then?" He grinned.

Kagome turned in his arms, connecting her lips with his immediately.

"No ring?" She joked.

"Well, I was going to propose to you during school, but I decided to wait…"

"I would have killed you if you did that!" She teased. But unfortunately, Inuyasha didn't catch the tone. That's when his eyes went red.

"What was that bitch?" He said his claws coming dangerously close to her jugular.

"Inu…yasha… ple…please stop… this." She said as best she could. Her nails were trying their best to scratch at his wrist, but nothing was happening. Her air supply cut off with a jerk of his hand and she felt her world disappear a minute later.

Inuyasha didn't realize what he was doing until she did lose consciousness. His eyes darted back to gold as he tried to revive her.

"Come on Kagome…Wake up…" He slapped her across the face hoping to wake her.

"Oohh." She groaned cupping her cheek.

Kagome opened her eyes, searching for Inuyasha's, but all she got was silver hair. He was holding her so close to him as he cried onto her shoulder.

"Gods Kagome… I don't know what came over me… I'm… I'm sorry…"

She just held him back, hoping this would subside…

A week later…

Kagome sighed as she stared down at the glass case full of rings. There were so many to choose from. She could have white gold, gold, silver… too many for a choosey girl.

Inuyasha picked out which one he liked; it was a simple band with a large pear-shaped diamond in it. He didn't want something too big… and it did look perfect on her. Finally she chose that one.

When she got home to show her mother the ring, her mom told her that she had a message on her cell phone, which she had accidentally left at home.

Inuyasha and her mother were talking when they heard Kagome scream in the other room. She was writing down something, it looked like a number then she hung up the phone.

To answer their questioning stares she smiled and said, "A guy named Lupé or something just offered me a trip to Hollywood, in the states, so he can show his boss my music live!!!" She all but screamed at them.

Inuyasha grinned, happy for her as her mother hugged her tightly. "That's great news!"

"I can bring one person… Do you want to go to the states Yash?"

"Sure." He said.

"When do you leave Kagome?" Her mother asked.

"Tonight." Kagome said simply.

"That's a little bit of short notice…" Her mother said.

"I don't care… I better go pack some things…We'll go to your house to pick up some of your things when I'm done." Kagome rushed upstairs screaming in joy.

The next day…

Inuyasha took Kagome's hand as they exited the plane, wondering where they should go next. Their questions were answered just as they got out. A man was standing there, apparently waiting for someone. Just when he saw Kagome, he ran up to her and smiled.

"Hello, Kagome. My name is Kouga Lupé."
