ok, so this is my first fanfic, so please go easy on me, i know its not great...

"GAH! DIE NARAKU, YOU BASTARD!!" Inuyasha spat as he ran in for the kill, Tetsusaiga held high above his head.

Naraku chuckled evilly, completely unfazed by Inuyasha's threat. "Have you already forgotten, Inuyasha?" he asked, bemused. "Must I remind you the reason you are here? It's to reclaim your precious Kagome, is it not?" He gave a half-smile as he watched the dog demon's advance.

"What-have-you-done-with-KAGOME!" He added extra-emphasis on the last word as he swung the Tetsusaiga down toward its target: Naraku's heart.

"I guess it's true; you really can't teach an old dog new tricks. Will you never learn?" Naraku chuckled once more as he dissolved into his miasma and shot off into the night.

"Damn it! He got away again!" Inuyasha snarled as he watched the vapor retreat and disappear into the night.

"Let him go, Inuyasha. We all know that's not the last we'll see of him," Miroku called from behind Sango, high in the air on Kirara, where they had been attacking Naraku with Sango's Hiraikotsu and Miroku's sacred sutras.

"I know! It's just, I could almost taste the victory! I was so close to finally finishing that bastard off!!"

"Yes, Inuyasha, we know. We feel the same way and are just as disappointed as you are. But right now, finding Kagome and making sure she's safe is more important." Sango guided Kirara down, and her and Miroku jumped off.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Inuyasha's indifference was almost instantly contradicted by his sudden intensity to find her. "Where the hell did that damn bastard put her?!" The hanyou crouched down on all fours and proceeded to sniff her out. "I know she has to be here somewhere."

Suddenly, the castle walls began to crumble. "Watch out, Sango!" Miroku tackled Sango out of the way of the falling debris about to crush her. "Damn! Another fake! I almost thought for sure this one was the actual thing!" he yells as they both mount Kirara and jump into the night sky to wait on their friends where it's safe. "Inuyasha! Hurry up and get Kagome out of there! This place is falling to the ground! She'll be crushed!"

"Heh, you think I don't know that, monk?" Inuyasha asked dryly, darting into the cascading debris and narrowly avoiding the obstacles dropping all around him. He disappeared inside for only a few seconds before he emerged-- this time carrying something limp…

Kagome.

"Let's go!" He shouted to his already airborne friends as he raced and leaped away into the woods, back toward the village the group had come to know as home-- and where their other friends were more than likely worriedly anticipating their, hopefully safe, return.

A/N: Okay, so I know a lot of you are sighing right now thinking, oh dear god, not another blobfic (as you can see I added this authors note when I updated this chapter), but this really isn’t meant to be much of a chapter at all, as you can clearly see. Soooooooooo… yeah

Oh, and this was supposedly ‘Naraku’s castle’, but as Miroku clearly pointed out, it was another fake… I just realized that I hadn’t mentioned that… whoops
