Chapter III

Complications

< br>
Kagome awoke from the couch that she had drifted off on last night. She looked around the room finding Sango sitting on the table drinking a cup of coffee.

I hope Sango doesn't take what happen last night as something serious. What am I going to say to here? God, I'm in trouble. Kagome thought to herself.

"Kagome, you can come here." Sango said startling Kagome.

She slowly got up and slowly walked over to the kitchen leaning on the doorway.

"You can come closer. I won't bite."

Kagome sighed deeply as she sat at the breakfast table across from Sango trying her hardest not to get too close to her. "Um...Sango?''

"You don't have to say anything, Kag."

"I...I don't?'' Kagome said nervously.

"Yes. I'm sorry for last night but the whole Kagura thing was...well....overwhelming because me and her have been an item for about two years now."

"Really? Why'd you guys break up."

"Well, I found her in the bed with a man."

"I'm sorry. I really am."

Sango felt tears in her eyes and fought them back because she promised herself she wasn't going to cry over something like this.

"I know something that'll cheer you up." Kagome said cheerfully.

"What's that?''

"Me and my friend, Miroku, we're gonna go to this new club that just opened up and you can come with him and me if you want to."

"I don't know. I don't get along with men that good."

"Well, he's not the type of man you would usually run into." Kagome chuckled nervously.

"Anyways, I have to go to work and I will not mope around over that lying cheating Kagura." Sango got up and stormed into the backroom.

Kagome stared after Sango. "She's such a strong person. I bet nothing could tear her down."

Meanwhile Sango was crying softly on her bed looking at a picture of her and Kagura. She ran her fingertips over the cool surface of the picture frame as a tear dropped down on it.

Later on InuYasha was sitting in the restaurant drinking a cup of coffee reading desperately over a newspaper. "Computer technician wanted? No. Bartender? I don't know how to make them I just know how to drink them. Call girl? Yeah right."

He slammed down the newspaper down on the table cursing to himself. "Sesshomaru was right. I do need to find another job to pay for mother. I just can't live with killing people anymore, but I can't find another job that'll pay that much."

InuYasha sighed and sunk his face in his hands. He heard the bell from the door and turned around to find the girl he helped yesterday had entered. His eyes widened as he blushed. She looked over and he quickly pulled his newspaper over to his face hoping she didn't see him.

"She didn't see me. She didn't see me." InuYasha kept repeating to himself. He waited awhile before peeking his face from behind the newspaper only to be staring into her eyes.

"Hi, Yash" she said in a cheery voice.

"Aaah! Do I know you?'' InuYasha said leaning away from the closeness that was between them.

Kagome smiled and sat across from him. "Of course you do, silly. You're the guy who got my purse back from that creep"

"That's doesn't mean I know you. I don't even know your name."

"Are you asking for it?''

InuYasha folded his arms like a three year old and blushed. "No!"

Kagome smiled. "It's Kagome."

InuYasha shrugged his shoulders. "Like I care."

"Can I ask you something?''

InuYasha unfolded his arms. "What is it that you want. Didn't I do enough already."

"Well, I was wondering if you could maybe teach me some of those moves you did on that thief."

"I'm not going to teach someone like you my family's fighting style. Why would you want to learn it anyway?"

Kagome dropped the emotion from her voice "I want to kill someone."

InuYasha's eyes widened as he looked at her. "Are you serious?! Why?!! You don't seem like the type."

"I'm not, but this man is very powerful and I want to be just as equal."

"You're really serious about this. What did he do to you?"

Kagome stood completely still.

"Excuse me. What did he do to you to make you wanna kill him."

Tears started to swell up in her eyes then she got up and stormed out leaving InuYasha standing there dumbfounded.

"What'd I say? What a stupid bitch.''

Meanwhile Kagura was laid out on a bed looking at the ceiling. She looked over to her side finding a man with long black curly hair. Kagura squinched up her face as she looked at his naked upper half.

I guess InuYasha was right. Why do I suck up to a bastard like Naraku?
She mentally sighed. He holds the life of my little sister. I have to suck up and do what he says or he's gonna kill her and it's gonna be all my fault

She felt a rough cold hand on her waist and she jumped. "Why are you scared, Kagura."

"I'm...I'm...not scared"

She felt his cold finger slip into her folds. "No....not again. I'm tired."

He forced his finger further and rougher making Kagura scream. She felt his dark voice in her ear. "I don't care if you're tired. You'll do as I say or Kanna will die and I might even throw in that cute little brunette of yours. It's Sango, right?"

Kagura eyes widened."You said you would leave her out of it."

"Well, I lied. Now come on."

Naraku said as flipped Kagura on her back and towered her with his finger still moving rough inside her Kagura closed her eyes letting him do whatever to her. She then felt his cold hard member enter her in one hard thrust followed by a fast rhythm of hard thrusts.

"You like it don't you? Don't you, Kagura?''

She kept her eyes closed as Naraku worked his magic on her. She winced as he began to speed up making her thighs red and soar.

I'll get away from you Naraku if it's the last thing I do. I will be free

Later on Kagome was sitting crying quietly on the couch staring off into the window watching the sun hide behind the clouds making the room darker. She let out a big sigh and looked up into the air. Then Sango came in the loft running to the backroom. Kagome jumped up and followed Sango finding her getting clothes out of her closet setting them on the bed.

"What are you doing?!"

Sango turned to Kagome. "Oh, I'm sorry. I can't make it to the club tonight."

"Why not?!"

Sango grabbed a towel and approached Kagome with a smile on her face. "I met someone and she is so perfect and beautiful."

"So you're gonna ditch me for some a date."

Sango rubbed her chin and looked in the air. "Yeah" She smiled and started to hum happily as she walked off to the bathroom.

Kagome groaned and walked to the phone and dialed a number. "Hello, is Miroku there?''

"Oh, it's you." said a boyish voice on the other end.

"Don't start that, Hojo. Just put Miroku on the damn phone."

Hojo sighed.

"Miroku!! That bitch is on the phone!!"

Then Miroku walked up to Hojo glaring him then snatching the phone. "Hey, Kagome."

"Did he just call me a bitch! That bastard!"

"Kagome!"

She sighed. "I'm sorry, Miroku. I just called to tell you that Sango can't make it. So, I guess it's just me and you"

"Oh...um...about that. I can't make it either."

"Not you, too." Kagome whined.

"I'm sorry, Kag, but Hojo asked me to meet his parents tonight. I think it's starting to get serious."

"Well, I am estatic for you. I'll call you tommorrow, okay."

"Alright. Bye, Kag."

Kagome hung up the phone cursing to herself as soo as Sango came out with a dark red dress and her hair tied up into a ponytail.

She smiled and turned around. "How do I look!"

"You look great, but you would look better if you'd go with me to that club because I don't want to go by myself."

"By yourself? What about that guy....um......Miroku."

Kagome hung down her head. "Well, he's got plans."

"You don't have to go alone. You can stay at home and we can go tommorrow."

"And what am I to do in here."

"There's lots of things to do in here."

"Like what?''

"Like...um....painting that door. I got some white paint in the back so if you could....um... paint it for me."

Kagome sighed. "I guess I could."

Sango ran and hugged Kagome. "Thank you so much." Then she rushed out of the door before she peered back in. "Um... if it's possible maybe you could do the whole living room."

"But..."

"Thanks, Kag. You're really helpful." Then Sango left shutting the door behind her.

"Shit!" Kagome said.

Later on InuYasha was walking down the boulevard like he usually did. Then his cell started to ring. He rustled through his pocket until he found it. He answered the phone.

"Hello."

"Mr. Taisho? I want to see you."

"Another hit?!"

"No, just some bussiness that I want you to be here for."

"Alright." InuYasha ended his call and put his phone in his pocket. "Man, what a jackass." He started to run down the boulevard until he stopped at Mr. Higurashi's office.

He walked in and ran up the stairs and entered his office finding Kagura and Naraku sitting down in the office. InuYasha looked at them confused then turned to Mr. Higurashi.

"What are they doing here."

"Please. Sit."

InuYasha glared Kagura and Naraku before sitting down.

"Okay me and Naraku here decided to collide our bussinesses. With his top dealers and my top drugs we'll be the largest drug lords in all of Japan, and I want to take you up that ladder with me. You've been loyal and did every single job I assigned to you. I think you are worthy enough to be my personal hit man. You'll be right under me and of course the pay will be....let's get say we can buy a hospital for your mother. Are you in?''

InuYasha took a deep breath. "Can I think about it?''

"What's to think about? You will be making more money than you can ever imagine."

"I want to...seriously, but I just need to see where I'm at."

Mr. Higurahi nodded. "Of course. I understand. I'll give you some time but make it quick, Mr. Taisho."

InuYasha nodded then left the office. InuYasha rushed down the streets not knowing how to deal with this. He only had one person to go to. One person that would listen and not judge.

Later on InuYasha arrived at the hospital walking through the big white doors walking down the big white corridors then stopping at her door. He looked it up and down then walked in finding his mother still unconscious. He took a chair and placed it next to her bed and sat down into. InuYasha just stared at her for a while taking it all in as tears began to swell into his eyes. He looked down to the floor unable to look at her like this

"Mom? I don't want to lose you. I want to pay for your stay in this hospital but the job I have is...well...something that you wouldn't approve of. Should I keep doing this job of killing people and pay for your stay or should I just quit and let you die."

"Quit." A voice said.

InuYasha lifted up his head. "Mom?!"

"Don't be ridiculous, brother."

InuYasha turned around finding Sesshomaru standing there emotionless behind him. "What do you want?''

"What I want is for you to quit this job. We both know that you will get caught up like that last time."

"It's not like that anymore."

Sesshomaru chuckled and shook his head.

"What's so damn funny?!"

"You need a female."

"What?!" InuYasha felt his cheeks start to burn.

"If you had someone if your life you wouldn't be doing the idiotic things you do."

"I don't need no woman! I'm perfectly fine being by myself!"

"You say that, but everybody wants some company."

InuYasha looked into his brothers eyes hating to admit that sometimes he did want a female by his side.

"Even if I did want someone. They won't have me. They don't want a half-breed like me."

"It's only true if you keep telling yourself that. Now, I have to go because unlike you I have a female at home."

Sesshomaru walked out of the hospital room leaving InuYasha sitting there contemplating about what his older brother informed him of.

"I guess he is right, huh?''

Meanwhile Kagome was painting the wall. She had on black under shirt and paint covered overalls with a her hair up in a messy bun with splats of paint in it. She dropped the paint roller and plopped down on the floor. She wiped the sweat off her head with her arm.

"I'm so tired! Why did I have to be stuck with this?"

Then Kagome heard a knock at the door. She stood up and walked over to the door opening it finding InuYasha staring at her.

"Hey." He said calmly

"Aaahh!!" Kagome screamed and shut the door then ran to the bathroom. She stood over the sink trying to get the paint off of her face. "What in the hell is he doing here?"

Meanwhile InuYasha was staring at the closed door wondering what happened. "God, what a nut job."

He sighed and walked in the door getting a little bit of white paint on his hand from knocking on the freshly painted door. He looked through the house and looked better than the view he usually got from his apartment.

"Woman, where in the hell are you?!" InuYasha yelled through the loft.

He walked down the hallway going into each room then he reached the bathroom and heard water running.

"Hey wench what's the matter with you?!"

Kagome peeped out of the door. "Why are you in my home?"

InuYasha opened his mouth but then closed it. He didn't even know why he was here then he realized that he needed to be around someone other than the usual people. Someone normal but he wouldn't admit that to her.

"I don't have to explain what I do to someone like you."

Kagome chose to ignore that comment because she was really happy that he came over but she wasn't gonna admit that to him.

"Um...I'm kinda hungry. You can come if you want." InuYasha said scratching the back of his head.

"Are you asking me out?''

"No!!! I just figured that maybe we could talk about your situation and I didn't want to talk with you with an empty stomach."

Kagome looked at him as amusement danced in his eyes. "Are you asking me out?''

"Do you want to eat or not?!"

"Okay, but I'm not ready. I look like a mess." Kagome opened the door revealing her paint covered outfit.

"What are you talking about. You look good."

Kagome smiled. "Really?! You think so?''

InuYasha slightly blushed and looked to the side. "I...I...mean you look good enough to go to WacArnolds."

Kagome hit him in the arm and stormed out as InuYasha followed chuckling to himself. They walked out of the building and Kagome looked around for a car but couldn't find one.

"Where's your car?!"

"I don't have car. I prefer to walk." InuYasha started walking down the street and Kagome caught up to him.

"What do you mean you don't have a car? When you say ''you prefer to walk'' does that mean that walking is the only transportation you can afford."

"I can afford a car!" InuYasha snapped back at Kagome.

"Then why won't you get one."

"Because I use my money for more important things."

"Like what?''

InuYasha sighed deeply and looked into the sky then back at her. "Do you always ask these many questions? Can we please just walk in silence."

"Fine." Kagome folded her arms and looked the other way.

"Thank you."

They walked in complete silence and for some reason InuYasha was getting extremely bored and he did kinda missed the innocent sound of her voice and there was a question that was boggling him for a while.

"Um.....are you and Sango....close."

Kagome remained silent.

"Did you here what I said!"

Kagome glared him then turned back around.

"Fine then. Don't talk. See if I care." InuYasha looked the opposite way but kept stealing glances at her.

They arrived at WacArnolds. Kagome walked up to the counter.

"Yes. How may I help you?''

"Um....Yeah I'll have a number 1, please."

"Okay, that'll be $4.15."

Kagome looked over to InuYasha with puppy dog eyes.

"No. No. No. You can pay for your own stuff."

"Please."

InuYasha sighed and went into his pocket. "Yeah make that two number one's." He gave the lady a ten dollar bill. "Keep the change."

Kagome smiled as she took their trays and proceeded to a window side booth. InuYasha sat down and so did Kagome.

"Thanks."

"Yeah, whatever." InuYasha said as he stuffed a fry in his mouth. Kagome voice lost it's cheery tone and replaced it with a serious one

"Um...I guess we should talk about the real reason we're here."

InuYasha's eyes widened. "You're really serious about this?!"

"Yes I am. I want him dead and I want to be the one who kills him."

InuYasha was kind of getting freaked out about her tone and the evil almost devilish look in her eyes. "Well, I might think about it." InuYasha said taking a bite of his burger.

"No! You can't think about it. Are you gonna help me or not?!"

"Whoa! Calm down. I'll help you, okay."

The evil tone and look in her eyes suddenly turned back cheery. "Really?! Thank you soooo much. I'll try my hardest." She then took a bite of her burger leaving a ketchup splat on her face.

InuYasha chuckled to himself as he stared at her. God, she's so innocent. How could a girl like....like....this want to kill someone? They must have done something really horrible. InuYasha thought to himself

"What? Why are you staring at me like that?!"

InuYasha chuckled.

"What's so damn funny?!"

He shook his head. "Um...you have some....here."

InuYasha leaned in close to her where she could feel his warm, minty breath on her cheeks. Kagome then got lost in his pools of amber then she turned red and pushed him away.

"What's you're damn problem. I'm not easy! You have to work up to that"

"What in the hell are you babbling about wench?! I was just trying to get that ketchup that's splattered all over your face!"

Kagome then turned more red than the ketchup itself. "Sorry?'' was all Kagome could say in a moment like this.

InuYasha sighed then grabbed a napkin then leaned in and wiped the red condiment off of her face. "God, you're like a little child."

"Not very attrative, huh?" Kagome giggled.

InuYasha searched through her eyes like he lost something in them. "Why do you want to do this?" He asked seriously

"What?"

"Kill someone."

Kagome looked away from his intense gaze.

"I just do, okay?"

InuYasha leaned back comfortably into his seat.

"But...but why? You seem too innocent to do something like that."

"Who are you to call me innocent? You don't know anything about me."

"I know. I mean they must've done something really awful to push a kind person like you off the edge."

Kagome was on the brink of tears thinking about her bastard father. "He did."

"What did he do. I must know."

"I...I can't. I can't tell no one."

"Please. Tell me."

"No. I won't"

InuYasha folded his arms and looked the other way. "Okay fine then. You don't have to tell me. Be a stubburn wench see and if I care. It ain't like he raped you or something."

Kagome stormed up. "Fuck you! You don't know shit about me and you never will!" Kagome started to sob as she ran out of the WacArnolds leaving InuYasha staring wide eyed.

"What'd I say this time? God, what a nut job." InuYasha said as he sipped some of his drink.

Meanwhile Kagome was running as fast as she could down the streets. "You did this to me! You bastard. I hate you and I'll never forget what you did! I'll get trained and I'll kill you! You here that dad I'll kill you just like you killed mom."
