Chapter 08: Neko

So, the real adventure will begin now; expect fights and a bit drama from now on, because the smooth part is over!! wejejeje ^.-

Disclaimer: I do not own nor Inuyasha, not Ningyo no Mori, nor anything that has being or will be written by Rumiko Takahashi. *sight* I want to draw like her!! Buaaaa sniff sniff

The forest around them seemed to move faster and faster behind of her own accord, Kuro run side by side with Kirara following Inuyasha and Kagome that were a bit far ahead.

“How are you feeling Inuko-chan?” asked Sango when the two felines got close.

“Oh, fine I guess… The heat is not so bad now, it seems err…gentler. I know that doesn't apply to heat but it's the only word that comes to my mind that describes it, more or less”

“I see.” Sango nodded matter-of-factly “Does it bother you the…the?” she signaled to her face, drawing strikes under her eyes, not sure of how would Inuko take it. Whether she would get mad or not.

“The stripes?” she touched her cheek lightly “Of course they don't bother me; on the contrary, I love them! At last I've got stripes like a real youkai! And they match my eyes, on top of that, so I'm really glad”

“So you are proud of being a youkai?”

“Of course I am, Miroku-san, it's my family legacy… Why wouldn't I?”

“Well, Inuyasha is not so proud of it… so I thought…”

“He used to be very proud of his blood, we all were…” she sighted. How Inuyasha be ashamed of what he was? Her eyes watered at the thought. She looked away from Sango and Miroku; suddenly she didn't want to talk about anything else right now.

Miroku stopped Sango when she was about to say something else, by the girls face she was deeply hurt of knowing that her cousin didn't feel proud of the blood they shared. Inuko stroked Kuro side absentmindedly. She felt as if she no longer knew the hanyou, maybe coming here had not being such a great idea after all. She made the mistake of not considering things for long periods of time pretty often and that resulted in a great deal of trouble all the time.

The landscape was very pretty, tall stylized trees with leaves the shape of stars and the color of olives. Kuro looked sideways at Inuko, she could almost feel the sadness pouring form her, it felt like something pressing in her heart and making it hard to breath.

“Don't worry; he must have a good answer for feeling that way, Inuko”

“I suppose…”

“You'll see.”

Inuko nodded, even if Kuro was saying it to make her feel better, she appreciated it a lot. They had being traveling for hours now.

“Catch me!” Shippo fell on her arms from nowhere.

“Hey, little kit. You could have fallen, you know”

“No way. If you have the slightest youkai reflects there was no way you couldn't have cached me.”

“Jajaja. True, I guess.” she patted him on the head.

“And who are you little kitsune?”

“I am Shippo, Inuyasha and Kagome's adoptive son. Who are you?”

“Kuro. Inuko's fire guardian, of course.” she made a long jump to emphasize this.

“So? What can you do? Because so far you have only served as transportation”

“Hey, little foxy, you getting cocky on me?” Kuro sped up in an instant forcing Shippo to fasten to Inuko's shoulder with a Whoop! She jumped into the branches of a nearby tree making a whole turn and flinging herself upwards until she got standing in the top of the tree. Her four paws pausing together in the same spot she stood letting them watch over the great view.

“You fucking nuts!?” Shippo chirped “You could have gotten us killed!”

“No way, there's no chance of that happening since I'm so fucking good”

“Now whose getting cocky, hn?” Inuko grinned wildly.

“Not me” said Shippo crossing his arms in a grown up mimicking position.

“Get us down, Kuro, we don't want to lose track of Inuyasha-onii-chan”

Scolding a bit Kuro leaped down landing on the ground with softness a butterfly would envy. She looked everywhere but there was no sight of none of them; nor the mononoke and the two humans nor the hanyou and the miko. She tried catching their scents but it was useless.

“Great! Now we are lost!”

“Shippo-chan, don't yell, we need to find them or we'll get lost in this place”

“Thanks to neko-chan how are we gonna do that?”

“I suppose it is my fault…”

“Don't feel bad, Kuro, it's okay, you'll see we'll find them in no time. Let's get going this way” she signaled to the left.

“Why? This way seems better” Shippo contradicted.

“I smell water this way, where there's water there's a village.”

“Oh, do you smell water? I smell only lots of tress and bugs…”

“I guess my senses are better”

“Now you're getting cocky!”

“Jajaja, true, sorry kiddo” she hugged him and pecking his cheek let him slide to a sitting position on the back of Kuro. She jumped down and started walking by the side of the black huge cat.

They were truly lost and she was starting to get worried. There were no sounds besides of the forest and the birds singing. What if Inuyasha and the others had gone way ahead and couldn't find them? She had no intention of camping outdoors tonight. She kicked a stone on the floor and send it flying over the bushes. This was so boring.

“There's the water!” Shippo's scream broke her concentration. A nice looking flow of water run between two paths of rocks of gray and crimson-like shade creating a soft roar while it passed by due to its strength.

“Now we only need to follow it… Soon or later we'll find someone to help us”

Kuro was starting to worry too, she said nothing trying not to make the little kit concern but it was not that easy to find someone at the side of a river. They could have to walk for miles till they found a village or a little town. And Inuko was in a delicate state, according to what the hanyou had said, she shouldn't get tired or do great efforts because it might bring the fever back. It had being slightly surprising that summoning her hadn't made her weak, in the past summoning her guardians was a whole issue for Inuko, so she had resorted to letting them run freely so she wouldn't have to summon them every time she wanted to have them around. Kuro remembered those times in annoy, she had hated having to hide form the humans in the shrine, it was so unlike her nature to hide form anyone that it angered her only to think about it.

“Kuro, what if we wait for you here and you go and try to find the others?” Shippo's reasonable question surprised both of them.

“I guess I could…”

“No, I don't think it's a good idea. If you loose track of us, we'll be in worse shape than we are now. If they can't find us, we'll do that later bur let's stick together just for reassurance”

Shippo started jumping around form rock to rock followed by Kuro to Inuko's peace of mind. They were on the other side of the river now and collecting little rocks and shells. She worried the kit would loose foot and fell into the water, that was rather cold.

A slight noise on her back brought her alert. The bushes had moved, she had no doubt. She made a circular movement and letting the foliage cover her form started running at her full speed towards it. When they shook again, she lounged towards them, surpassing the branches and landing on the other side on top of something plushy.

The thing under her growled and yanked her to the side but her instincts told her to take charge and she used the motion of whatever had yanked her to her own favor, letting it continue forward so that once again she was on top. Their struggle of strength made them roll endlessly towards the end of a steep cliff, resulting in a disastrous fall that should have left her all scratched and hurt but that somehow felt smooth and warm as if something had surrounded and protected her.

The warm, strong shielding being landed on top of her, the sun at it's back making it impossible to distinguish what it was and then it grabbed her hands trying to palce them at her sides. Suddenly afraid of it, she got one of her wrists free and punched the thing in the middle section, what she supposed to be a stomach, but her fist only connected with solid iron making her knuckles hurt.

“Hush, fiery thing!” a deep, male, gorgeous voice ordered her.

“What the f-!” she toppled backwards landing inelegantly on her ass getting her hair into the mass of leaves that was at the bush's feet. The form crept over her letting her feel his weight without crushing her, her wrists bring pulled back and over her head while a feral kiss stole her breath away. Her muffled growls and curses were silenced by those hot lips that ravaged her mouth and stopped her from screaming.

Shippo's and Kuro's voice could be heard calling her in the distance but she had no way of answering them. She turned her head around, freeing her lips form those that burned so much and formed a scream as loud as she could but it ever left her throat, a hand pressed tightly over her mouth rendering her mute.

“Shhh, gorgeous…” his husky whisper in her ear made her blush slightly. “Now, babe, stop screaming and trying to bite my hand and I'll release your pretty lips”

She nodded lightly before going limp under him. She had no opportunity of getting him off her form due to his mayor weight but if she caught him off guard he could be skidded to the side, and with a dead blow to his chin, dazed enough to free her for a few seconds to allow her a clean run away.

“You do are the prettiest little youkai I've ever seen” His tone of amazement made her blush once more.

“Then you sure don't go out much”

“And the wittiest, most fiery thing too… “He let her hands loose above her head. “Don't think of escaping from me, you'd never get away.”

“That's your guess but since you don't know how fast I am, I wonder how can you tell!”

“Oh, you believe yourself faster…” he scooped her onto his shoulder and jumped into the branches of big oak close by. His muscled arm held her legs very tight while her upper half dangled from one side to the other in every movement he did. The force with which he plundered himself upwards amazed Inuko, even in the current situation.

“I'm getting really dizzy…” He laughed but left her sitting on the ground. She looked around they were at the entrance of a cave in what looked like a yard surrounded by very steep mountains with sharp edges. He clearly didn't think of letting her go.

“Now, princess, let me look at you”

`And let me look at you', she thought at the same moment. She gasped at the sight. He was a full youkai without doubt. He had pitch black hair with long bangs around his face and a ponytail, thin, long and straight that fell at his back and ended up in a feather and a few silvery rings. His eyes were the deepest violet she had seen, his sexy lips posing in a mocking grin, his body sun tanned and very muscular, not a single fiver left unworked. Indeed, a full handsome youkai.

He equally dazed. She sat there her feet sprawled around making the red hakama look like an opened fan, her white hair billowing over it like a silver net. Her beautiful emerald eyes focusing in him while her coral colored lips formed a perfect “o”. He eyed the stripes upon her cheeks, long curvy stripes the color of her eyes, a powerful youkai stripes, just like his own violet ones upon his chest.

“Pretty lady, might I wonder what ere you doing roaming my land?”

“None of your business, neko!”

“Hmmm... quite good sense of smell, bitch. Non-the-less, even if you are a filthy bitch you are a pretty sight to uphold”

“Let me go! Why did you bring me here?”

“Why did you jump on me?”

“Because you were really bad at covering behind the bush, even someone blind could have seen how the leaves were shaking at your every move” she grinned mockingly at him. Before she knew what had happened, he was on top of her pressing her hands tightly into the rocky ground.

“Ite! It hurts!” he softened his hold but didn't let go of her completely.

“You are very clever and clearly think very high of yourself. I'm curious of seeing what you can do, since you were so easy to catch” removing himself form her he offered a hand to help her stand which she slapped and stood on a single motion.

She had never before being on a situation like this. It was clear this was some sort of youkai duel, and she didn't plan on loosing even if she didn't know the whole extent of her abilities. Her fever and the weeks in bed forgotten, she felt how her body reacted to her emotions. A rush of adrenalin that filled her completely and rendered her reason useless filled her and made her want to fight with all pf her strength. She was getting lost in her instincts and it felt wonderful, no restrains were valid, no concern, her only focus was the tall gorgeous youkai in front of her.

“Now, pup, let the party begin. Give me your best punch if you dare.”

“There's something you got to know before this” her eyes were shadowed by her fangs, her feet posed separately ready to sprang, the muscles tight and ready to push her forward.

“And that is?”

“You should never pull a dare or not to one of my family” she looked at him only giving him enough time to register that her green eyes now were bleeding red around the pupil and how her fangs were bared in a smirk before a dead punch in his jaw send him backwards into the rocky wall.

She gave her back to him.

“I thought you were more of a challenge”

A low chuckle made her spin around at time to see him shake the dust from his shoulder. His black sleeveless kimono looked a bit crumbly now, only sustained in place by the crimson cloth functioning as a belt. The low part skipped to the sides revealing a tight pant that revealed his sculptured form when the earthily mist dissolved around.

“This might be interesting; you are no little pup, but a full lovely curvy full youkai”

“'Bout time you realized”

A/N: So, first fight for Inuko-chan!! This is getting so exiting!
