Inuyasha choked. Kouga was engaged to another woman? But then why was he at her house? That last in the night he should have been home with his fiancée'.

 

“So you're cheating on your beloved with Kagome. That's low.” He took another swig as he heard Kouga's growling escalate.

“Listen you little cock sniffing fur ball! I went on a stake out at a club with Kagome last night. You caught me leaving Kagome at her mother's house to sleep off a couple of drinks.”

Inuyasha snorted.

“Then what about the kiss?”

 

Kouga nearly strangled Inuyasha but controled the urge.

“That was a friendly kiss. Nothing more nothing less. Maybe if you'd stopped slobbering all over that clay shell of a woman you could have gotten that and more.”

Inuyasha had enough of his complaining.

 

“Kouga, get out. Get out now or I'll call the police.”

Laughter erupted from the demon.

“You dense prick! I am the frigin' police! I can have you ass busted in the slammer calling some guy name Bubba your “Sugar daddy”! What you need to do is get your self back in Kagome's graces before I chose to lock you up.”

 

Inuyasha sneered.

“On what charges?”

Kouga looked back from the door of the loft.

“Oh, don't worry about that. You haven't heard of dirty cops before have you?” The door slammed knocking down a few precious pictures of Kagome on his wall. He looked at the clock. 5:30. It was time to work. Straightening up the joint, he left. One to go to work and another to commit to Kagome.

 

 

The perp darted across the lawn of the neighbors. She fired a round into his leg. He fell to the ground in a crumpled heap. Gripping his injured leg, he aimed his gun at Kagome. It fired. Figuring he'd missed she took out her handcuffs and began to read him his rights as she cuffed him.

 

“Mr. Mangeloni, you are charged with murder in the first degree. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say or do can be used against you in the court of law.”

Kouga came out from behind the police car. Somewhat ashamed that he stayed behind while Kagome had arrested the criminal he went over to assist.

 

“Kagome you're bleeding.” He motioned towards her left shoulder. It had not hurt when she didn't notice it. Now it hurt like hell.

“That's a lot of blood maybe e should call a paramedic.”

 

“She is no good! I hit a vital nerve! She will die within hours.” Mangeloni spoke from the confines of the vehicle. Tying a piece of his shirt around Kagome's wound he called for help on the radio.

“This is Officer Shirotaka, we have an officer down. We need a medic on Fifth and main.”

 

Kagome eased in and out of consciousness. Before she fell completely in two amber eyes greeted her.

“Inuyasha.”
