Shared life chappie numbah 5!

~20 minutes later~

Everyone but Myoga just sat and stared at how much Kagome and Inuyasha were eating. They both have eaten 3 bowls of ramen, a bowl of oden, 4 apples, 2 cups of orange juice, 2 bowls of cereal, and 5 sandwiches. Finally, Kagome put away her dishes and spoke.

"Well now I see why you eat so much Inuyasha." Inuyasha followed suit and put his dishes away. "Yeah, trust me, you'll get hungry alot more now." Iuyasha sat down and stretched out. He couldn't stop thinking of that kiss Kagome gave him. His skin still felt like it was burning and he couldn't wait for another one. Kagome just put her head down and yawned.

Myoga decided that since they were awake and not bickering that he should talk to them. Before he could speak though, Mrs. Higurashi started talking to Yuka, Eri, and Ayumi.

"Shouldn't you three be going home? You mothers must surely be sick with worry. Go home now, Kagome is fine."

Yuka spoke for the other girls, "Sure thing Mrs. Higurashi. Call us when you can Kagome."

"Sure. Bye." And after Kagome spoke the three girls left. Seconds before Myoga spoke, Mrs. Higurashi started speaking to Sota. "Time for bed Sota. You are up way too late. You are probably going to fall asleep during school."

"But mom..."

"No buts young man. Off to bed. Go on." Sota grumbled a goodnight and reluctantly stormed off to his room.

"Goodnight." Inuyasha and Kagome spoke in unison but they didn't notice. Myoga finally had a chance to speak.

"Excuse me, Lord Inuyasha, do you wish to know the side effects of the ritual you used to save Lady Kagome?"

"What do you mean, Myoga?" Inuyasha wasn't paying much attention so Kagome lifted her head and spoke for him. Myoga expected that and faced Kagome. "You see, Lord Inuyasha used what is known as the Shared Life Ritual. It is used for dying people who have great spiritual powers. What it does is spilt the stronger participants life to heal the weaker one. "

"What?" Kagome and Inuyasha again spoke in unison and again didn't notice for they were too confused.

"Basically, by putting his blood in you, you not only become half demon like him but you also share his life force. For example, if one of you die , the other will die. Also, you cannot be separated."

Inuyasha seemed to be in shock but Kagome was still together. "What do you mean by we can't be separated?"

"If you are about 100 yards away from each other, then you will suffer the pain of being torn in half without actually being cut. Since you now share your life, if you are split, you life is split. Do you understand?"

"Yeah. So I am stuck with Inuyasha for the rest of my life right? We won't even be able to be on different sides of the well."

"Exactically. That is why I said Inuyasha had great bravery to do such a thing. Normally it is only done by loved ones."

Kagome sighed and set her head down. She was glad that she'd be with Inuyasha, but what about other parts of her life. What about school, and what about her life in this time? Kagome was brought out of her thoughts when Inuyasha spoke aloud one of her worries.

"What are you going to do about your school thingy?"

"Tomorrow I'll go tell them that I won't be there for the rest of the year. That way we can finish finding the shards and figure out what to do. But right now I am going to sleep. Goodnight." Kagome got up and went to bed, but Myoga had something else on his mind that he wished to speak about.

As Inuyasha watched Kagome go, Mrs. Higurashi wondered when she would be noticed again. Inuyasha started to get a goofy smile on his face but it left immediatly when Myoga spoke.

"Lord Inuyasha, may I ask a question?"

"What?"

"Do you love Lady Kagome?"

Inuyasha snapped a little too soon to be believed. "No! What makes you ask?"

"Well, you knew very well what was going to happen when you saved her life and you did it anyway."

Before Inuyasha couold deny anything, Mrs. Higurashi sat down to put in her thoughts. "You know Inuyasha, I believe that you do love my daughter very much but I also believe that you fear what she may think of you. Am I correct?"

"Feh." Inuyasha turned away from her gaze.

"I'll take that as a yes. Well I like you Inuyasha. So I am going to help you out of you dilemma. I do know how Kagome feels about you, and trust me, she loves you very much. You should have no worries there."

Inuyasha snapped his head around so fast his neck should have broke. "How do you know?"

She was now indeed assured that Inuyasha loved her daughter so she continued. "She told me herself. You see, about two months ago when I came home I found Kagome staring at that old tree out there crying. When I called to her she just ran up to me and spilled everything. She just kept asking me questions like 'Why did Inuyasha do this' or 'Why did she have to be here'. Her last question that she asked though was 'why do I love him so much'. After I calmed her down we sat under the tree and talked. She told me about all the things that you've done that hurt her and all about this Kikyo person. Kagome tries her hardest not to hate her because she says it will make you sad. She told me that she couldn't understand why she loved you when you always snapped at her, always fought, and you seeing this Kikyo girl. But right before she went to her room she told me that she knew she loved you, she just didn't know how long ago it started."

Inuyasha was speechless from this new information. He didn't have to hide himself anymore. All he had to do now was prove it to Kagome. And explain his behaivor around her from before. His thoughts ceased when Mrs. Higurashi spoke again.

"Now Inuyasha, I know you are probably speechless but I want you to know that I will help you and Kagome get together if you tell me something."

"W-what?" Inuyasha was still speechless but he shook his head and listened.

"I want you to tell me that you do indeed love Kagome, and how long you have loved her."

His mouth opened and closed a few times, but nothing would come out. If he said it out loud then it would be true and he'd have to do something about it. After looking like a fish for a few minutes he blurted it out. "Fine! I love Kagome and I have loved her since when Sesshomaru tried to kill her when I got the tetsusaiga." Inuyasha suddenly banged his head against the table and left it there. Mrs. Higurashi smiled, stood, and started toward her room to sleep. Before she left, she told Inuyasha her simple plot. "In a week or so, I'll have you two sit and talk things out. I'll be there so I can make sure you talk about everything necessary and that you don't attack each other. Good night. Oh, and try to be nicer to Kagome from now on ok." As soon as she left Inuyasha went to the tree outside of Kagomes window and tried to sleep. When he got there he found his fire rat coat on one of the limbs of the tree. He smiled and watched Kagome sleep through her window until sleep claimed him as well.

When Kagome woke she saw that it was 10:30, but she didn't have to go to school, not really. She got up and dressed but instead of a uniform she wore jeans and a red t-shirt that said 'dysfunctional' on it. It was the only thing that fit and they were tight. She woke Inuyasha and they went downstairs to get hats. They both had red baseball caps. They wen't to eat in the kitchen but they only found a note and envelope. It said,

Hey you two. I went to take Gramps to his doctors appointment and I took Sota to school. I left some money in the envelope so you two could go out for breakfast. Have fun and if you are going to be gone before I get back then leave a note.

Love Mom.

Kagome relayed the message and the went to WacDonalds for the breakfast special. They just walked to the school while they ate so little to no words were spoken. They got to the school earlier than expected though. It was lunch time and all the people that wanted to eat outside was staring at them, or at least their silver hair and unnatural eyes. They just glared back and headed to the nearest door. Kagome say Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi but she slightly shook her head and turned away to glare at the other kids. Right before they reached the door, a group of boys stood in their way. Kagome recognized them as the worst gang at her school. They normally picked fights with the toughest looking people they can find, just to beat them. And right then, they were it.

Before Inuyasha could tell them to move the one that looked like the leader spoke. "So, who are you two?"

Kagome beat Inuyasha to the punch and spoke first. "Oh no. Don't even start. I know what you guys do, you all just hurt tough looking people for the fun of it. Well I'm warning you if you don't move you'll be in serious pain."

The guy next to the leader spoke next. "Well now that we know that you arn't teachers, what do you say to a little fight after school? For kicks and giggles?" Before Kagome could protest Inuyasha answered. "Sure, where at?"

"How about at the park , 4:30. And if you don't show then we'll just have to come find you." While Inuyasha glared at the gang, Kagome went to the office and told them that she wouldn't be back for a while. When she got back outside Inuyasha was growling at the leader of the gang. By the sounds of things, the gang-leader said something that Inuyasha didn't like. Before Inuyasha lost it and hit the guy, Kagome grabbed him and dragged him away.

Half the way through the crowd Inuyasha started yelling at Kagome, "What'd you do that for?"

"You were about to hit him. If you really want to fight him so badly then wait until 4:30."

"But he was talking about you. He said to his friends that you were either a sexy student or my whore. The kid underestimated my hearing."

Kagome was shocked that they would call her a whore, until she looked at her shirt,which was a little too tight. "Well Inuyasha, we'll have to start my fighting lesson today."

"What do you mean, Kagome?"

~ 4:30 ; park~

Inuyasha could not believe that Kagome talked him into letting her fight, let alone be there. But there they were, walking up to a giant crowd with a large ring in the middle so they could fight about 6 stupid guys. When they reached the center of the crowd and were in the ring, they saw their opponents. All eleven of them had huge smirks on their faces. The leader looking guy from earlier spoke first.

"Oh wow, I didn't think you would show up. Well earlier I never introduced myself so I am Darjuin." He bowed. Inuyasha just smirked and said, "Inuyasha. Now are we going to stand here all day or will we fight?"

"Sure thing, weapons or no weapons?"

Kagome spoke this time, "No weapons, we will all use fists."

The guys all looked either amused or confused. Then Darjuin spoke again, "You're fighting? You got to be kidding me hun, how about one of the guys keeps you company until this bozo gives up." One of the guys came up to Kagome and grabbed her by the waist. When Inuyasha took a step to see Kagome he seemed a little surpised.

Before Kagome knew what she was doing, she grabbed the boys wrist and twisted him to face her front. Then she flipped him and he landed on the ground with a sickening thud and was knocked out. All this happened in about 3 seconds. Kagome blinked a few times and then the fight went underway. Within 2 minutes, 7 of the gang members were out. Kagome got two and Inuyasha got five. The last three guys fought with all they had but Inuyasha gave a roundhouse kick and knocked out two of them. The only one left was Darjuin, and he looked like he was about to pee his pants. Kagome punched his stomach and he was out.

The crowd stared in awe as the two silver haired people left the park. Right before they were out of sight the people broke into applause. They just kept walking and talking among themselves.

"Inuyasha, we should wait until tomorrow to go back. It's getting late."

Inuyasha was about to refuse, but then he remembered what Kagomes mom said. "Sure, we'll leave first thing tomorrow."
