Shared life chapter number 7!
When they got back to Kaedes hut it was already dark so thwy stayed the night there. All of them slept peacefully, except for Inuyasha. He sat watching Kagomes even breathing whle she slept. His mind was plauged with thoughts revolving around her. How can I tell her my feelings? Her mother says that she loves me but how can I be sure? Things might have changed for her, god I hope they haven't.
His troubled mind was stuck on those thoughts for nearly an hour.He was so deep in thought that he didn't notice Miroku wake earlier. Nor did he notice Miroku move and stare for a good ten minutes. Or even Miroku calling his name. He only noticed him when he was poked in the back of his neck, hard. Before Inuyasha could start swearing, Miroku grabbed his ear and pulled him outside, at a good distance away from the hut.
"What the fuck did you do that for you god damn monk?" Inuyasha was angery but not enough to hit the guy, yet.
"Your attention, I think we should talk."
"What about?" Inuyasha was just now noticing how tired he really was. He choked on his yawn when he heard Mirokus statement.
"I want to help you tell Kagome you love her."
"And what makes you think I love her?" As long as he didn't deny it, he wouldn't feel guilty.
"You were talking out load earlier."
"Oh. Damn. How could you help any way? You can't even get Sango."
"Sango doesn't hit as hard as she used to. But thats not the topic at hand. Now all I am saying is that I can give you two weeks alone in Kagomes time."
"And why would you even want to help me?"
"A bet. Sango said that it be a year at max until you two get together. I say 4 months."
"And when did you two make such a claim?" Inuyasha's eyebrow was twitching and Miroku took that as a 'hurry up or die' gesture.
"While you were gone. But that doesn't matter, what matters is your and Kagomes relationship. Now my plan is simple. You suggest to Kagome to train the two weeks of waiting in her time. That way Kagome is stuck with you . When Totosai arrives with Kagomes sword then I'll hold on to it for you and we'll all await your return. What do you think?"
Inuyasha mulled it over for a good few minutes until he decided. "Alright then. All I'd have to worry about is her family being home too much." The twitch was gone so Miroku decided to add another worry to the boys list.
"That, and If Kagome 'sits' you into a giant crater for some reason or another."
"Yeah, just once I wish that I... could..." Inuyasha stopped when he suddenly had a great idea. "Hey monk, where does the old hag keep her prayer bead thingies?" He pointed at the one around his neck for emphasis.
"Oh sure, in the cabnet by the door. Why do you ask?" It dawned on Miroku what Inuyasha was doing when he said 'revenge' and ran to the hut. He was going to put one on Kagome! Miroku just sighed and walked back to the hut.
When Inuyasha entered the hut he found the beads immediatly. He chose the only set left, pure white. He figured it would accent her eyes. He placed the beads in his hands and spoke the enchantment quietly. He mentally thanked his mother for her few lessons on how to use spiritual powers.
Miroku walked in just in time to see the beads wizz to Kagome and form a circle around her neck. Her ear twitched a few times but she slept on. He looked over to Inuyasha who had a smirk plastered to his face. So naturally he had to burst his bubble.
"Whats the subduing word then?" Inuyashas face faultered and became very thoughtful. After a moment or two he thought of the perfect word, lay. It was perfect. His grin returned and he spoke quietly.
"I got the perfect word, but if I say it now then it'll wake her up. And it'll be sunrise soon so you should get in as much sleep as possible. Tomorrow after we leave you can do your plan." Miroku took his advice and went back to sleep. Inuyasha just watched Kagome until she woke or dawn, whatever came first.
Kagome awoke before dawn, and wanted to get some water from the river. She looked around to find everyone sleeping, or so she thought. Inuyasha was thrilled that she didn't notice her new accessory. Now he could try it out. He waited a few moments and rushed after her.
When Kagome reached the river, she caught Inuyashas scent coming at her. She figured that she'd ignore it until after her drink. When she turned around she saw that Inuyasha was wearing the biggest grin ever. She started to go towards him.
"What's so funny?" He just grinned even wider.
"Kagome, look at your neck. What is there?"
When she looked down and saw the beads, she visably paled and stared at Inuyasha wide eyed. "You didn't..."
"Oh I did. It's in case of emergency. Like how you say 'it' and I turn back from being full demon."
"What's the word?"
"Oh it's a good one. You'd never guess it."
"Inuyasha, don't be a smart ass and tell me before I say 'it'. "
"If you say your 'it', I say my 'it'. Got it?"
"Ugh. Sit boy!" *THUMP*
Instead of hearing the usual swearing, he started laughing. Before she could ask what was so god damn funny, he said something, and she too slammed into the ground. Normally, she wouldn't have heard what he said, but now she was hanyou. She could hear the words 'lay down' loud and clear. And they sounded gleeful.
Inuyasha was up before Kagome and leaning right over her face. When Kagome could move she flipped over and glared daggers at Inuyasha. He just grinned while she glared at him. Inuyasha spoke first.
"Now that you know about your beads, I am going to be a little easy on you and let us stay in your time until your sword's done." Kagome was in shock and when she snapped out of it she noticed how close Inuyasha was and blushed. He chuckled and backed away.
"Come on, lets get back to the village."
"Wait a minute. How did you know how to do this?" Kagome was yanking on her beads to try to get them off. Inuyasha watched her with an unusual gleam in his eye and then sat down.
"My mother was teaching me things before she died since she was a miko. That is the only thing I can remember."
"Oh." Kagome stopped her futile attempts of breaking the beads and sat down as well. "Well if you knew how to do it then why didn't you?"
"Never thought of it. Miroku was kind enough to rumble me memory and that is what happened."
"So Miroku knows?"
"Yup. When we get back though the others will most likely be awake so they will know too."
"Damn. Well why are we going to my time?"
"Less distractions for your so called training. But after 1 week we'll come back so you can fight a real demon besides me. Deal?"
"Deal. Now lets get back to the village. The suns up so the others should be awake also." The two of them walked peacefully back to Kaedes' for the first time.
