Shared life chapter number 9!

When they entered the hut, Kaede looked up. As soon as she saw the blood on Miakosa, she gestured to bring her over to her.

"Kagome, can you please tell me who this is?" Kaede started dressing the wounds properly as Kagome told the story. When she was finished telling the events of the morning, Miakosa spoke up.

"Why are you all helping me? I don't get it. How could a miko, a monk, and an exterminator help someone like me?" Confusion was evident in Miakosa's eyes. Miroku sighed and answered for everyone while Inuyasha sat in a corner, discreetly looking at Kagome, who was busy putting away herbs.

"You see, Miakosa, we are helping you because we can see and sence that you are not evil. The fact that you're a hanyou has nothing to do with it."

"But it doesn't even matter. As soon as I leave I will probably get ingured again since I have no place to go." Miakosa sadly looked awayand spotted the two hanyous that saved her. Next, Kaede spoke.

"Child, would ye like to stay with me? I could use some help in the village and the people would not discriminate against you. They have been around Inuyasha enough to know that hanyous are people. Also the recent change of Kagome being a hanyou helped a great deal. Ye would be accepted here." Miakosa couldn't believe what she heard. This village would accept me? How can that be... maybe it's because of the nice hanyous who saved me. They must protect the village.

"Truely?" Miakosa was barely audible, but she was heard. This time though, Sango spoke to her.

"Yes, what Kaede said is indeed true. You could stay here and live with Kaede. She would need help from time to time but here you will be cared for. And you will even have all of us for friends. Will you stay?" Sango waved her arm to emphasize her point. Miakosa couldn't believe this good fortune. Just then she decided that if it were a lie then she would escape. Yet stay for a bit of time to see what it was like.

"I will stay. But if I cannot find peace here then I will leave. And please, call me Mia."

"Of course, Mia." Silence engulfed the hut as Mia sat up and leaned against a wall. She sighed in contempment and saw Kagome. kagome sat next to Mia and decided to introduce everyone.

"I'm sorry Mia, I forgot to introduce everyone. Miroku is the guy in purple, Sango is in the green skirt, Shippo is the fox demon in Sango's lap next to Kirara, her fire cat, and Kaede is the old miko. Oh, Inuyasha is the guy in red in the corner." Mia knew she heard the name Inuyasha before, just not where she heard it.

"Nice to meet you all." After Mia spoke, the only sounds that could be heard was Inuyashas impatient fidgiting. Finally, he snapped and stood up.

"Kagome, we need to get to the well, remember?" Kagome jumped up at this and spoke to Mia before she walked out.

"Mia, me and Inuyasha need to go but we'll be back in a week and see you then. Don't worry, these guys will watch out for you. Goodbye everyone, Inuyasha wait up!" Kagome ran out of the hut and accidentally kicked up enough wind to spill the remaning soup onto Sango. Which happened to make a certian monk notice her jump up and try to shake it off. As Kagome got into step with Inuyasha, the faint scream of 'hentai' and the echo of a slap was heard. Inuyasha stiffled a laugh and picked up the prevously forgotten pack. It was silent until they reached the well, when Kagome spoke.

"Inuyasha, thank you for letting me take care of that weak miko and bringing Mia to Kaede. Oh and for letting me go home for a while." Inuyasha blushed slightly at the praise he was getting and instead of the usual and expected 'keh', he said something completely different.

"No problem. Can we hurry up? I need to talk to your mom about something." The scary thing was that it sounded like he was telling the truth. What Kagome didn't know was that he indeed needed her mothers council. On a personal matter, no less.

"Sure...." Kagome had nothing else to say so she jumped into the well and Inuyasha dived in right after. It wasn't until he was passing through did he notice that he would land in 'sit' position. And it wasn't until he saw Kagome that he knew he would land on her.

When Inuyasha landed a little squeak was heard. They landed in an awkward position with Kagome on her back with the pack under her and Inuyasha was on top. His face was in the crook of her neck and one of his legs was in between hers. They were both blushing a deep crimison by the time they got up and it didn't look like it would leave any time soon. Inuyasha picked up the pack and turned away.

"S-sorry Kagome. I- I didn't mean to do that." He jumped up and left to the main house, leaving a wildly blushing Kagome dumbfoundedly standing at the base of the well. After a good 10 minutes she finally shruged it off for later thought.

By the time she got into the house her blushe was down to a rosy hue. She entered the kitchen to see Inuyasha reading a note of some kind. Before she had a chance to ask what it was, he set it onto the table and pushed it to her. She picked it up and read.

Dear Kagome and Inuyasha,

I'm sorry that we're not here, but Grandpa fell down the shrine steps and Sota insisted on coming with us to the hospital. He's fine though and we will be back soon. You two don't get trouble while we're all gone. See you!

Love Mom.

Kagome just sighed and placed the note in the trash can. She had no clue on how many days until her mom came home. When she remembered what they planned to do, she spoke.

"Inuyasha, do you want to look at the field at my school now?" He looked up and decided to go with her. He needed something to do until he could speak wth her mom.

"Sure, lead the way." She was suprised by the fact he was being nice, but she just took advantge of it and headed out. At the base of the steps that she now easily could jump over, she decided to run on buildings to the school. She jumped from one to the next effortlessly, enjoying the breeze. She looked back to see Inuyasha gliding after her, looking over the town. She smiled inwardly and looked foward again.

She soon saw the school up ahead and jumped down to a deserted alley nearby. She was suprising herself at the grace she now had. Normally she would be tripping over her own feet. But not anymore, now she was just like Inuyasha.

Inuyasha was captivated by the way she ran. Her silver hair trailed behind her with ease and her long legs moved with grace. The part he liked most though was her ears. They both were back against her head and twitching ever so slightly. He also understood why Kagome loved his ears so much. As he watched her he decided something. That by yhe end of the two weeks he would tell Kagome his feelings.

When she jumped down he was slightly disappointed but glad that they were almost there. He followed quickly and walked after Kagome. She was going at a quick pace so he was startled when she spoke.

"We are almost there but when we get there we have to be quick. I think schools still in session so someone may see us. We can look at it from afar." As soon as she finished speaking they were at the school gates. Instead of going through them, they jumped over them and ont the schools roof. He thought that the roof alone would be big enough for their training. That is, except for the fact that it could break anyway.

Kagome continued sprinting to the far edge and stopped in time to look over it. As Inuyasha caught sight of the field he decided that it was too little. Sure it was big and all, but they would have too much trouble trying to not break the building and the ground. He turned to give his opinion of the field.

"It's too small and people may see us. Lets look around for a while."

Kagome knew that being in the city would attract too much attention, so she led him to the forest by her home. From there, Inuyasha took the lead.

He went how left to right and all over the forest looking for large clearing. He found a few, but none of them as big as he hoped. They were starting back for her house when they found the perfect clearing. It was very large and no large rocks or small trees. It even had a little stream near the edge of the woods for drinking. Kagome was bubbling with excitement.

"Oh Inuyasha, it's perfect. Now I can train and become more useful and even fight with everyone. Now Inuyasha you better not go easy on me or anything, I want to be as strong as possible. Lets start now! We don't have long so I want to get in as much training as possible." She went to the middle of the field and waited. Inuyasha was stunned by her enthusiam. She really wanted to help.

"Whatever. I won't be easy on you and you better work hard. Oh and just a warning but I'm probably not good at teaching." With that said he charged towards Kagome to see her reaction. He found her jumping over him acceptable and thus continued his teachings. Mostly only basic defences and attacks were his main thought but he did throw in a few harder ones. By the end of the day she was exausted but much better.

"You're wrong Inuyasha, you are just fine as a teacher. Now I have an idea." She sat by the water and waited for Inuyasha to sit by her to continue.

"Well? What is you idea? We don't have all day now."

"Damn you're impatient. Well here's my idea. We can camp out here for the 2 weeks and train as much as possible. We could use the stream for water and get food from my house. And this way we'll have less walking back and forth. What do you think?" He was suprised that she was making sence but agreed with her reasoning. And he would get two weeks alone with her.

"Sounds good. I'll stay here and build a fire and you go get your stuff for three days. We'll go back for food ever three days so bring lots." Kagome left silently with a grin gracing her features. She ran off as Inuyasha walked off to get firewood.

He easily gathered plenty of wood and started a fire. After a good 10 minutes Kagome returned with her yellow pack filled with food and a few extra clothes. She said a breif hello and she cooked some ramen for dinner. After they ate Kagome unrolled her sleeping bag and went to sleep. Inuyasha watched her for a while and then decided something. That if the opportunity didn't arise to tell her of his love, then he'd tell her when they were at the well at the end of the two weeks. With that decided he fell into an alert slumber by Kagomes feet.

Two days went by in that manner. By the third day Kagome has gotten extremely better. Every day she learned more and was taught harder techniques. While they were training before lunch, a group of six boys came upon their little camp. Unfortunatly for Inuyasha and Kagome, they were downwind from them. So they couldn't catch their scents.

Out of the six boys, only one of them was known by Kagome, and that was Hojo. The other boys were all in about the same age group. Hojo planed to spar with his five friends because nearly everybody didn't know, but Hojo and his buddies were all demons. They all needed to brush up on their skills so they went to their favorite clearing to spar. They were all suprised to find two half-demons already there and fighting. They noticed that they were downwind from them so they took advantage of it and watch with complete silence.

After watching them for five minutes, Hojo decided that these two half-demons were extremely well fighters. So naturally, they had to be destroyed so they wouldn't pose a threat to their lord. It was then that Hojo decided to inturrupt them soon. It was also then that he caught onto their scents. He was shock that the female scent oddly resembled Kagome, but he forgot it quickly and turned to tell his friends his plan. That is, he would have if he didn't hear voices from the clearing.

"Inuyasha, can we eat lunch now? I'm really hungry." Kagome gasped out inbetween breaths. She was working herself to the max and needed replenishing.

"But we just started Kagome. Didn't you say that you were going to work hard?" He stopped his movements to listen to what she had to say. Kagome took in a few breaths and sat down.

"I have been working hard, honest! I just need to eat. How would training me help if I couldn't move afterwards?" Inuyasha sat as well and continued.

"Well then promise me you'll work hard afterwards."

"I, Kagome Higurashi, promise to work as hard as I can to reach your expectations. Now can I make food?" Hojo was stunned that it actually was Kagome in front of him. He watched for another five minutes as Kagome made food. During the time, he thought of plan. So as Kagome and her guy friend finished eating, he stepped into the clearing and motioned for his friends to follow.
