Chapter 1

Using his key to let himself in, Miroku Hoshi carried the usual bag of groceries to his friend. His friend, Inuyasha Takahashi, hadn't come out of his condo sense his girlfriend died 6 months ago. But Kikyo Hime had been more than his girlfriend. She had been his submissive, the one person in the world that trusted him with their life.

Her death hit him hard, and now he seemed not to care if he ate or slept or worked. That was the reason Miroku was here with the groceries.

“Inuyasha! I brought food!” Miroku called out, even though he knew he wouldn't get an answer. Warming up a cup of ramen, he went in search or his friend. As always, Inuyasha was lying full-length on the couch. His amber eyes stared at the flashing television, but Miroku doubted he saw it.

“Here,” Miroku put the ramen in Inuyasha's clawed hands. “You know I wont leave until you eat it.” With that he stubbornly sat down in the matching chair. Slowly, Inuyasha sat up, and wearily started to eat his favorite food without tasting it.

“Inuyasha, I've been thinking,” said man turned his eyes towards his purple-eyed friend. “I think it's time you got a new girlfriend. I want to know that even when I'm not here that you're eating properly and showering and keeping up with your work.”

Inuyasha broke eye contact and stirred his ramen. “O…kay.” Miroku stared at him in surprise. He had expected some kind of resistance. This proved to him that his best friend was indeed very lonely and ready to try moving on.

“That's great! Do you want me to put an ad up on the net?” Practically bouncing with excitement, Miroku retrieved Inuyasha's laptop from his bedroom. “…Yes.” Miroku was ecstatic! This was the most Inuyasha had said at all these past months.

Quickly pulling up his favorite bulletin board sight, Miroku started typing in hopes his friend would find someone soon. Having written ads for Inuyasha before, Miroku knew exactly what to write. The ad read something like this.

Dominant male seeks submissive female. Must be willing to have a relationship and live with her Master. I'm 6'1, HIV neg., mostly into bondage and discipline. I'm a very caring Master who will look out for my girl. I live in a large condo outside of NYC, and support myself (and you) by writing murder mystery novels. My only requirements are that you must be fit, and very accepting/open minded.

Attaching Inyuyasha's e-mail address, Miroku looked at the said male, who was still spaced out in front of the TV. “I hope someone finds you soon.”

He didn't know how soon he was talking about, but soon would come quicker than expected.

Sighing in resignation, Kagome Higurashi surfed the Internet for inexpensive apartments. Her searching led her to an adult bulletin board sight. Blushing, she scanned down the listings. She, being a naïve virgin, was in awe at the lack of subtly these people were using when looking for a sex partner. Some people even attached crude pictures of themselves with their ads.

Kagome's eyes went wide at one picture. `Oh my God!' Quickly she scrolled down. Her face resembled a tomato while she read. `Hm… this one doesn't look too bad. And he lives pretty close by.' Tentatively, she started typing out a letter to this mysterious dominant male.

Hello. My name is Kagome and I'm an art major at NYU. I just got kicked out of my apartment and am living with a friend of mine. I would like a place to live, and in return I will do whatever it is that you posted this ad for. Please consider me.
Kagome

The next morning, Inuyasha sat up in his too-big, black and red silk covered bed and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. Forgoing a shower, he went straight to his laptop. To his immense surprise, his mailbox flashed red. Opening the file, his eyes widened in surprise. `Someone actually wants to be mine?' “Kagome.” He whispered her name into the empty room. He reread the short e-mail a few times before pulling up a new page and composing an equally short reply letter.

Kagome- it's a very interesting position you're in. But I would like to know more about you. What are you like? What are your favorite things? Stuff like that. I need to know more about you as a person before I accept you as my sub.

Inuyasha sent the short letter and sat there trying to think of how to spend his day. `I guess I should work on that novel.' He pulled up Word, and stared blankly at the blinking curser on a half finished page. He didn't know how long he sat there, but suddenly his e-mail flashed red and startled him out of his stupor.

You wanted to know more about me? Well, here you go. Before I graduated, my parents had convinced me that I didn't need a job because they would take care of everything. Then after I graduated, they took away the little money I had saved and my car (which I bought!). So without money, my landlord kicked me out. Now, before you go and make any rash judgments, my mother has been in a coma for a few years now and it's all my stepfathers fault. He never liked me.
Now for some more personal stuff. I love children and animals; I also am obsessively neat and will clean when I'm nervous, or when the mess just gets to me. My favorite food is oden, and my favorite color is green. I'm 5'5, long black hair and blue eyes. Anything else you want to know?
Kagome

`I have to meet her.' Inuyasha thought, scanning the letter again. `Today.' With that thought, he pulled up his e-mail and replied.

Kagome-I want to meet with you. Meet me at Sbarro's on Swift Street around 1 this afternoon? We can have coffee and discuss when you can move in.

He sent the e-mail and cracked his knuckles before heading towards the shower. He couldn't smell bad when he was going to meet his new girlfriend now, could he?

Kagome anxiously fidgeted at her friend's computer while waiting for Inuyasha's e-mail. `Sense when am I on a first-name basis with him?' it only took a second after the box blinked for her to pull up the document and read it. `Sbarro's? That's right across the street!' glancing at the clock told her that it was only 12:15 and that she would have plenty of time to get washed and dressed appropriately for Inuyasha.

“Sense when do I `dress appropriately' for anybody?” Kagome asked herself, blow-drying her after her shower. Brushing it back, she wrapped herself in a towel and strode into the living room to find `appropriate' cloths for this `date'.

Kagome sighed. `What would he like? How the hell would I know what some guy likes? I've never met the guy! Damn…' Randomly, she grabbed a pair of worn jeans and a black tee shirt. Slipping on her old tennis shoes she picked up her messenger bag and left Sango's apartment building.

Crossing the street was always hazardous to her health, but she was use to the heavy New York traffic. Sbarro's wasn't too busy, and Kagome was able to pick a nice outdoor table. Her wristwatch told her that she was a bit early, so she took out her prized sketchbook and looked around for an interesting subject.

Settling on an older couple sipping tea, Kagome immersed herself in her art.

A few minutes later Kagome's cerulean gaze followed the silver haired man to his seat three tables away from hers. `Oh my God.' Almost in a daze, she flipped to a new page in her. Groping around for another pencil, she never took her eyes off of the ethereal man.

Inuyasha didn't think meeting with a potential sub would be this nerve-wracking! Out of anxiety, he smoothed his red button up shirt once again.

`Why the Hell am I acting like this? It's not a first date or anything like that, I just want to get to know the girl before she moves in.' Great, his mind had already decided that she would move in. It seemed like he couldn't control anything in his life anymore.

Right on time, Inuyasha sat himself down in one of the white plastic outdoor chairs.

Now, where was she?

`Where is that girl? It's 12:45, she's late!' Inuyasha re-crossed his legs and let out an impatient sigh. `Or maybe she saw you from a distance, recognized what you were and ran.' `No! I won't believe that!'

His imagination was running wild over what might have happened to this girl. `Maybe she was mugged! Damn, that would be just my luck for my potential girlfriend to be mugged-'

“Hello.” Inuyasha looked up into cerulean eyes.

Finally coming out of her art induced coma, Kagome recognized that he was getting very impatient. A glance at her watch told her he had good reason.

Clutching her sketchbook to her chest, she took a deep breath and stood up. The seven steps -yes she counted- were by far the longest she had ever taken. Before her body could run, she made herself speak.

“Hello.” She knew by the whip of his neck and the shock in his eyes, he had not expected her to come. “You are the only one here with silver hair, so I'm guessing it's you I e-mailed? About the place to stay?”

Nervously she scanned the crowd, hoping not to see another silver head in the crowd. Thank the Goddess she didn't.

“Yes, that was I. You must be Kagome.” She nodded, her grip on her sketchbook making her knuckles turn white.
“Please, sit down.” The words were not a request from a stranger; they were an order from a Master. Almost subconsciously Kagome followed his commands, placing herself in the chair next to his.

“You are late, Kagome.” His gaze was unforgiving.

“I'm sorry, I was here early and when you sat down I was compelled to try and capture your beauty. I guess I got too carried away and forgot about the time.” She drummed her fingers on her sketchbook in anxiety.

“May I see?” It was not a question. Flipping to the destined page, she turned the book so he could see.

`Wow…' “This is… very good.” He noticed that she paid special attention to his more demon attributes. His ears were covered by a bandana, but she had noticed his claws and lean muscle under his shirt.

“I do not yet have a name to label this portrait as.” She clearly hinted that she wanted to know his name.

Placing one hand on her knee, and the other on her far shoulder, Inuyasha leaned in close to the now tense girl. He whispered in a low, husky, masculine voice, “Inuyasha, but you may call me Master.”

AN: So… I decided to rewrite Slave Girl and give it a new name. At least this chapter is longer than all my others. *sweatdrop* I'll try to get this story going… but for now…
Tootles!
