Chapter 6
Morning and Homeroom.
The next morning, I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock going off.
I rolled over and hit the snooze button.
I sat up on my bed and stretched.
Then I stood up and walked over to my dresser and pulled out my underthings, and socks.
Then I walked over to the closet, decided on my faded hipster blue jeans and a rust colored v neck t shirt.
I carried my clothes into my bathroom and took my morning shower.
I washed my hair thoroughly with my lavender and vanilla scented shampoo then rinsed it and shut of my shower.
Then I climbed out and dried off then dressed and ran down stairs.
I started breakfast and as soon as the bacon and french toast were cooked, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru walked into the kitchen ready to eat.
I smiled and greeted, "Morning guys."
They grumbled, "Morning."
I laughed, ate my break fast, did my dishes, and went up to my room and collected my backpack.
I came back down stairs and waited on the couch until Inuyasha and Sesshomaru were ready to leave.
Then we locked up the house and climbed into the car and took off to school.
I reminded, "Now remember guys, after school today and tomorrow Sango and I both have to work at the dinner from 4pm until 11pm, so you two will have to make your own dinner."
Inuyasha responded, "Teh! We have plenty of ramen left!"
I shook my head and replied, "Yash, I worry about you and your ramen sometimes!"
Sesshomaru smirked.
We arrived at the school.
Sesshomaru parked the car and I hopped out.
I grabbed my bag and walked over to my locker.
While I was re-organizing my back pack I heard Inuyasha talking to Kagome and smiled.
After I put my math, science, and history books, my pencils, pens and note books all into my back pack, I closed and locked my locker.
I hefted my backpack onto my shoulder and Sango walked up and said, "Hey Cathy, don't forget we gotta work late tonight and tomorrow."
I nodded and asked, "So you're still driving us to work and then dropping me off home, right?"
Sango smiled and nodded.
I said, "Okay, see ya after school then."
Sango walked off and I walked over towards Bankotsu's locker.
I greeted, "Morning Bankotsu."
He turned around and smiled and responded, "Morning Cathy.
I mentioned, "I see you got your books today."
He said, "Yup."
Then he locked his locker and queried, "So are you hungry?"
I replied, "Naw, I made sure to get up early enough to make Sessh, Yash, and I french toast and bacon."
Bankotsu pouted and whined, "Hey! No fair! Where's mine!?"
I laughed and answered, "Sorry, you should have been there."
He pouted cutely and mumbled, "Thanks a lot!"
I laughed and offered, "However, if you want some company I can sit with you in the cafeteria."
He nodded and agreed, "Okay."
So we walked off towards the cafeteria.
Bankotsu got his breakfast and we sat down together at a table.
Bankotsu looked at me and asked, "So how did the tutoring go yesterday?"
I yawned and answered, "Not to bad."
He nodded.
He queried, "So are you gonna do more tutoring tonight?"
I answered, "Nope, only Mondays and Thursdays, because Tuesdays and Wednesdays Sango and I work at the dinner."
He nodded and questioned, "So how late are you working?"
I answered, "11 pm. Fun, huh?"
He laughed and said, "Yup."
He finished his breakfast and we walked towards our homeroom class.
We walked into homeroom and sat down together.
Yuki walked by and I said, "Hey Yuki."
Yuki answered, "Hey Cathy, how's the tutoring going?"
I replied, "Not bad."
Yuki nodded and sat down with us.
The bell rang and we waited for homeroom to be over.
We spent the next 20 minutes sitting together.
Yuki flirted with Bankotsu, and he flirted back.
I pulled out my notebook and updated the tutoring stuff.
Bankotsu looked over at me and asked, "Is something wrong?"
I answered, "Nope just updating my notes. Why?"
He replied, "You just are quiet this morning, that's all."
I laughed and said, "I usually am."
Yuki went back to flirting with Bankotsu and he responded by flirting with her.
Finally the bell rang and we walked to math class.
On the way over Bankotsu questioned, "Are you mad at me or something?"
I said, "Nope, why?"
He answered, "You're not as talkative as yesterday, so I was just wondering."
I assured him "Nope, I am not mad."
He shrugged and said, "Okay then."
Math class again.
We walked into math class and took our seats.
Kouga walked over to me and pulled me into a hug, which I gladly returned.
Then Kouga took his seat behind me.
Hakudoshi walked over to me and greeted, "Hey Cathy."
I replied, "Hey Hakudoshi, what's up?"
He shrugged and walked over to his seat.
I frowned and asked, "Hm, I wonder what that was all about?"
Kouga shrugged and said, "Beats me."
I shrugged and pulled out my math book.
The bell rang and Mr A. walked in and announced, "Okay, we are gonna pair up again, same groups as yesterday. Work together and you will get a better understanding of things."
Then he passed out our assignment sheets.
We all split into groups again.
Kouga quickly pulled me into a hug from behind, wrapping an arm possessively around my waist, and growled a low warning growl while glaring ahead.
My eyes widened in shock at his actions.
They got even wider when I realized why he had done that.
Heiten had heard the growl and decided to turn back around and returned to his group.
Then after Heiten walked away, I turned around and kissed Kouga's cheek softly and whispered, "Thanks Kouga."
He smiled big and replied, "Any time baby girl!"
Kouga then released my waist and walked over to Ayame, and Bankotsu walked over to me.
Bankotsu raised an eyebrow questioningly as he sat down and asked, "What was that all about?"
I shrugged and answered, "Kouga's way of protecting me. I didn't even realize Heiten was near me."
Bankotsu stated, "He's pretty protective of you, huh?
I smiled fondly and said, "Yup."
Bankotsu nodded and then we concentrated on our assignment.
After our assignments were completed and we had turned them in, Bankotsu and I sat and talked a bit more.
I mentioned, "So, it seems like Yuki likes you."
Bankotsu shrugged and answered, "I guess so."
I smiled and suggested, "Seems like you might like her as well."
Bankotsu shrugged.
Inuyasha walked over smirking and sat with us and questioned, "So, Kouga's still overprotective of you, huh Cathy?"
I rolled my eyes and replied, "Like you and Sess aren't?"
Inuyasha countered, "Yeah, but WE are family."
I shook my head.
Inuyasha looked directly into Bankotsu's eyes and suggested seriously, "Hey Bankotsu, I need to talk to you after class! alright?"
Bankotsu shrugged and nodded.
I raised my eyebrow questioningly at Inuyasha.
Inuyasha shrugged and walked off again.
Kouga walked over and mentioned amused, "Finished already huh? I should have known!"
I smiled fondly at him.
Kouga looked at Bankotsu and asked, "Mind if Cathy and I chat alone for a little while?"
Bankotsu shrugged then stood up and walked over to Yuki, and Yuki started flirting with him again.
Kouga sat down gazing into my eyes and said, "So, you two are spending a lot of time together."
I nodded and reminded, "This is only his second day, ya know."
Kouga shrugged then turned serious and asked, "So how did the tutoring go last night?"
I held his gaze and replied, "As a matter of fact, I was just thinking about that. Yesterday Hakaku mentioned he needed help with math, so I told him to meet us and he did. When I explained it to him, he seemed to pick it up really quickly."
Kouga shrugged.
I continued, "I am wondering, did you perhaps ask him to do that, so he could keep an eye on me?"
Kouga shrugged and replied, "So what if I did?"
I shook my head sadly and exclaimed, "I knew it! You did!"
Then i scolded, "Kouga look, I appreciate your wanting to protect me and all, but don't you think having a spy in my tutoring sessions is a tad bit overboard?"
Kouga argued determinedly, "Someone has got to look out for you!"
I shook my head again and stated, "I know you worry about me and all and I appreciate it I really do,! But Kouga, I am not there alone Hojo is there too ya know."
Kouga scoffed, "He wouldn't be able to protect you if those jerks decided to try anything! You won't let me be the one protecting you, what else was I supposed to do!?"
I sighed and snapped angrily, "I am not as defenseless, and helpless as you and my cousins seem to think! I can handle myself okay! Now please, stop being so damn over protective!?"
Then I stood up and walked over to Inuyasha and said angrily, "Between you and Kouga being so over protective of me, I am gonna go nuts! Please stop treating me like such a damned defenseless baby!"
Inuyasha's eyes widened in shock for a moment then narrowed in annoyance.
The bell rang and I spun around on my heel and stormed out the door.
I walked over to my science class not even waiting for Bankotsu, since he and Inuyasha were most likely going to be having their little "chat"
With Inuyasha and Bankotsu
Bankotsu looked at Inuyasha and questioned, "So, what did you want to talk about?"
Inuyasha held his gaze and answered, "First of all, I want you understand Kouga and Cathy have a VERY close relationship even though they are not romantically involved anymore! He still is VERY over protective of her, always has been and he ALWAYS will be!"
Bankotsu nodded.
Inuyasha continued, "I want you to consider this as well, she has been hurt very badly in the past. Twice in last 4 years alone, so she is usually very leery of letting anyone get really close to her. For some unknown reason though, she seems to be letting you through her walls she has built around herself. I simply wanted to warn you if you EVER hurt her, I am gonna be the first one you answer to, Kouga the second and my brother the third! Are we clear?"
Bankotsu smirked and nodded.
Then Bankotsu said seriously, "Not that I am even interested in her like that, but why are you telling me all of this?" while still holding the other man's golden gaze.
Inuyasha sighed heavily and answered, "Because this is the first time in a LONG time, that she has even allowed someone to get this close to her, and for my comfort, it's happening way to damn fast!" while holding the man's blue gaze.
Bankotsu nodded and stated seriously, "Thanks for telling me all of this. Don't worry! I have no intention of EVER hurting your cousin!" gazing directly into his golden orbs.
Inuyasha stated knowingly, "I know you are at least a tiny bit interested in her, because of the way you have been reacting to Kouga's interactions with her! As well as Heiten's!"
Bankotsu frowned.
Inuyasha informed him seriously, "I know when someone starts becoming interested in my little cousin, and I usually try to warn them off, but with you it's different..."
Then Inuyasha spun on his heel and walked off and Bankotsu's frowned and walked to his science class.
