Chapter 7
Science Class Again.
The bell rang and everyone sat in their desks.
Heiten started tugging my hair the instant he settled into his desk.
I just ignored him.
Mrs H. announced, "Okay class, for today you are to pair off with your partners and discuss your projects.
Heiten stood up and yanked out my hair tie then leaned over to my ear and hissed, "I told you to keep it down!"
I turned around and glared at Heiten and he just chuckled as his eyes lit with amusement.
Hakudoshi walked over glaring at Heiten and demanded, "Enough Heiten, you had your fun, now give it back to her and leave her alone!"
Heiten smirked, dropped my hair tie on my desk and walked off to join Naraku.
I glared at his back.
Hakudoshi reached out a hand and picked up my hair tie off my desk and handed it to me.
I sighed and mumbled, "Thanks."
Hakudoshi nodded.
I pulled my hair back up into a ponytail and re-tied it.
Then we sat down and began discussing our project.
After while Hakudoshi looked into my eyes and mentioned, "You do realize Heiten only does it to aggravate you, right?"
I held his gaze and answered, "Yeah, I know."
Hakudoshi nodded and asked, "So are you busy tonight?"
I replied, "Sorry, I gotta work both tonight and tomorrow.
Hakudoshi suggested, "How about Friday then?"
I sighed and agreed, "Friday would be ok, we can start working on the project then if you like."
Hakudoshi nodded and confirmed, "Okay, Friday after school we will meet here and start then."
I nodded.
Hakudoshi stood up and walked over to the sin up list and signed us up for Friday for the science room.
A few minutes later he walked back over and informed me, "Okay, we have the room from 4pm to 5 pm on Friday."
I nodded and agreed, "Okay, Friday it is then, but I will need to let Inuyasha and Sesshomaru know so they don't get angry when I don't meet them immediately after school."
Hakudoshi nodded.
Hakudoshi gazed directly into my eyes and mentioned, "So, I heard Yuske is back."
I sighed and answered, "Yeah, we ran into each other yesterday during P. E."
Hakudoshi nodded and added, "Yeah, I heard about that too."
I sighed and stated, "Yeah, yesterday was definitely one helluva day."
Bankotsu walked over then looked at me and requested seriously, "Hey Cathy, meet me before lunch at your locker. Alright?."
I said, "Um okay."
Bankotsu nodded and walked over to Hojo and they started talking again.
Hakudoshi raised a brow at me questioningly and questioned, "I wonder what that was all about?"
I shrugged and answered, "No idea, oh well I guess I will find out soon enough."
We both shrugged and the bell rang.
We stood up and I collected my belonging then I walked over to Bankotsu, who was flirting with Yuki.
I reached up and tapped him on the shoulder and asked, "Do you need me to show you to your next class again?"
He spun around to face me and answered, "Naw, I know where to go now."
I shrugged and said, "Okay then, I guess I will see ya later."
Bankotsu nodded, and turned back to Yuki and began flirting again.
I turned around and walked over towards my history class.
Just before I got through the door Hojo stopped me by grabbing me elbow and requested, "Cathy, can we talk a minute?"
I nodded and we stood outside the door off to one side.
I looked at him and asked, "What's up, Hojo?"
He gazed into my eyes and answered, "Well, I heard Yuske is back and I was wondering if your ok? I know you two dated a while back." with concern visible in his blue eyes.
I sighed and exclaimed, "Yeah we did and it was the biggest mistake I ever made!"
Hojo questioned, "So ARE you ok?"
I smiled and replied, "Yeah, thanks for asking."
He nodded and replied, "That's what friends are for right?"
My smile disappeared and I mumbled, "Yeah, friends."
He cocked his head and asked, "What was that?"
I replied, "Nothing." and faked a smile.
He nodded and we walked into the class room.
History Class Again
I sat down in my desk just as the bell rang.
I pulled out my book as well as my note book and pen.
Kouga reached up and tugged my hair so i turned around.
He looked at me nervous and asked softly, "So, are you still mad at me?"
I sighed and answered, "No."
He grinned wide as relief filled his eyes and mentioned, "Cool."
Then he got out his book as well.
I reached into my bag pulling out then handed him a pen.
He smirked and mentioned, "Thanks, babe."
I shook my head in amusement and smiled.
Then I turned around and prepared to take notes.
Class began and we spent the majority of the class taking notes once again about the feudal era.
Every now and again I felt Kouga tugging on my hair or twirling a few strands around his long fingers.
I thought to myself 'Wow, he sure does know when I am upset.'
I smiled and concentrated on taking notes again.
I took notes on days and events that would most likely be on the test that we would be likely to have at the end of the month.
The last ten minutes of class Mr. Kinshin let us just talk and stuff as long as we were quiet.
Hojo was once again trying to get Kagome's opinions and such.
I sighed as I put my belongings away.
Kouga got up and sat on my desk looking at me and informed me, "You know, I only try to protect you, because I care!"
I smiled fondly at him and answered, "I know you do Kouga! I care a lot about you as well! But it gets really annoying being treated like a helpless baby all the time!"
Kouga grinned and apologized, "I'm sorry babe!"
Then he reached over and tucked a few stray hands of my hair behind my ear, and cupped my cheek affectionately.
I reached up, covered his hand while pressing it to my cheek and looked him in the eyes and assured, "It's ok, I know you only act like that because you care!"
Kouga held my gaze firmly and stated softly, "We may not be dating anymore, but I still want to protect you!"
I smiled and nodded, my understanding.
Then I pulled his hand off my cheek and went back to re-packing my backpack.
Kouga handed me back my pen and said, "Thanks again."
I nodded.
The bell rang and I walked over to Inuyasha over by the door and told him, "Hey Yash! I just wanted to let you know Friday from 4-5pm, Hakudoshi and I will be using the science lab for our project."
Inuyasha was surprised, and shocked I could tell by the way his eyes widened.
Then before he could recover from the shock, I quickly walked over to my locker without waiting for a reply.
I opened my locker and stuffed my back pack into it.
Just as I closed and locked my locker Inuyasha stormed up and yelled angrily, "No way in hell are you being left alone with him!"
I looked directly at Inuyasha and snapped, "It can't be helped Yash! He is my science partner and you know the rules! Only two people at a time in the lab. What the hell am I supposed to do? Fail!?" fire flashing in my eyes from being angry.
Inuyasha snapped angrily, "Of course not! But I am NOT gonna allow you to be left alone with him! He is Naraku's cousin damnit! Besides, I don't trust the little prick!"
I scoffed and countered, "Neither do I! BUT it can not be helped! So deal with it! I only even told you, so you and Sess don't freak out on me when I don't immediately show up after school Friday!"
Then I stormed off towards my art class.
As I passed Bankotsu's locker he reached out and grabbed my elbow.
I stopped and looked at him questioningly.
He asked curiously, "What was that all about?"
I sighed heavily and answered, "My pain in the ass over protective cousin, isn't happy about the fact that Hakudoshi and I WILL be working on our project Friday after school. He doesn't want me alone with him! I don't want to be either considering he is Naraku's cousin! But I don't exactly have a damn choice either! The rule clearly states only two people are allowed in the lab at a time and Hakudoshi is who I was partnered up with."
I sighed in relief and continued, "However I am gratefully that at least it wasn't Naraku or Heiten, I got paired up with! So I guess I will have to just deal with it and my stubborn cousins as well. Damn I am so SICK of them and Kouga treating me like a helpless baby all the time!" frustration clear on my face and in my eyes.
Bankotsu held my gaze and mentioned seriously "I can see your point, but I can also understand why they are...Just be careful alright Cathy!?"
I nodded, he released my elbow, and I walked to my art class, while he went to his history class.
