Chapter 31


Wensday: Morning


Bankotsu was still sleeping when I woke up, so I decided to let him sleep.

I gently got out of bed careful not to disturb him, and walked downstairs and began making breakfast.

By the time I had the eggs, toast, bacon, and juice finished, Bankotsu had woken up and came downstairs frowning.

He raised a brow and asked sleepily "What do you think you are doing?"

I replied smiling "Morning to you too babe, and I was making breakfast." and he said annoyed "Suikotsu told you bedrest."

I smiled and said happily "Yeah and I know my body's healing powers, so relax ok babe, now sit down and eat."

He sighed heavily and sat down and began eating, I smiled and began eating as well.

After we finished eating he sent me to relax on the couch while he did the dishes.

Then he joined me on the couch, I said "Seriously Ban I feel fine!" He sighed heavily and said "I still wish you wouldnt try to over due it."

I said "I am not over doing it, I am relaxing and giving my body time to heal itself." He mumbled "Not enough tho."

We sat together on the couch talking and watching tv untill noon.

Wensday: Afternoon

Bankotsu insisted on checking on my right side, so I took off my shirt, removed the binding Suikotsu had placed on it, and showed Bankotsu my side, he was shocked when he saw that I was already about halfway healed.

He said "Wow! I guess you weren't kidding when you said you heal fast!" I sighed and said dryly "Well, faster than humans anyways." and he noded, and said "Still I want my brother to check you out and make certain you are ok!" so I noded and said "Okay."

He called Suikotsu over to check on me. 15 minutes later Suikotsu knocked on my door and I let him in.

After I shut and locked the door Suikotsu said "Alright show me your side Catherine!" I noded and lifted my shirt.

Suikotsu looked my side over thoroughly and said in awe "Well if you keep healing at this rate there will be nothing but scratches, if that come morning."

I noded and asked "So do I have your ok to resume classes tomorrow?" Suikotsu said "Yeah, as long as you continue healing at this rate, you should be fine by morning."

I smiled and said dryly "One nice thing about having demon blood in me, I heal much faster then normal humans."

Suikotsu noded, I asked "Now would you mind convincing your brother for me, so he won't worry so much?"

Suikotsu noded and said "Alright." Then I lead him to the kitchen where Bankotsu was.

Bankotsu demanded "Well, what do you think Suikotsu?"

Suikotsu replied "She is indeed healing as fast as she said she would, she will be ready to return to go to school in the morning."

Bankotsu said "Are you certain?"

Suikotsu nooded.

Bankotsu sighed heavily.

I walked over to Bankotsu and hugged him and said softly "Now will you stop worrying so much, please? I am fine baby, really I am!"

He hugged me back, sighed heavily and said "I just don't want you hurt anymore!"

I nuzzled into his embrace and said "I know baby! I know!"

He hugged me just a little tighter and kissed the top of my head.

I looked up and began planting soft kisses along his jawline lighty, and felt him begin to finally relax a little.

Suikotsu cleared his throat and said amused "Well I am done here now, so I will just leave you two lovebirds alone now."

Then Suikotsu winked at us and left, I laughed and Bankotsu chuckled.

I re-locked the front door and walked back over to Bankotsu and said "Now how about you gather up your dirty laundry and I will start the laundry."

He noded and brought me his dirty clothes, and I put them with mine in the washer and started the washer.

While we were waiting for the clothes to finish washing we decided to order a pizza for lunch.

About 15 minutes later the door rang, I answered it, payed for the pizza and set it on the coffe table and yelled to Ban that it was time to eat.

He came out of the kitchen with two glasses and a pitcher of iced tea and set them on the coffe table, then sat down and we ate while we watched a movie on the tv.

After we finished eating, I put our clothes in the dryer and started it, then went back and finished watching the movie.

After the movie finished we sat on the couch talking again.

I said "Ban, I realize you are worried about me still, but you must understand, I am not like regular humans, I rarely get sick, I heal much faster than humans even with medicine, I am as strong as any human male and even stronger then some demon males, I don't go around flaunting it or anything, but I don't hesitate to use it when needed either."

Bankotsu said "You keep saying your a half demon like Inuyasha, yet he has dog ears and you have human ears, only thing visably different between you and a normal human girl are your eyes. How is that possible?"

I said "My mother was an american tourist who was visiting here in Japan for her summer vacation, then one day she met my father who she later learned was a demon as well as the great Inutashio's brother to boot, and eventually they began courting and then married, or as demons refer to it they became mates."

Bankotsu raised a brow and asked "What do you mean mates?"

I sighed and said "It's like the humans marriage only once you are mated you can not ever divorce and are only allowed to have sexual relations with each other from then on provided you both wear the claim mark."

He asked "Ok, whats that mean?"

I said "Well when two demons or in rare cases a demon and a human mate, the male bites the female where her right shoulder meets her neck only enough for his fangs to pierce thru the skin and first draw blood, then he licks the spot untill the wounds close, and leaves two tiny cirular marks, after the holes have closed the marks remain there for the entirity of her life proclaiming to both demons and humans she is spoken for, and anyone who tries to bed her after the mark appears will face the wrath of her mate and likely die at his hands. However, if the male is not givin the same mark, then he can still sleep with anyone else he fancies too. Full demon mates however, mark each other."

He asked "So what about your father then, your mother obviously couldn't give him the mark so did he um sleep around on her or what?"

I smile and say softly "No, instead he used two of his own claws and pierced his flesh, in effect he gave hisself the mark, then she licked the spot untill the wounds closed, after that tho, because she had swallowed a little of his demon blood, it mixed with hers and she became a partail demon. Not really even a full half demon more like a 1/4 demon, but she still grew claws and her eyes changed color, and she had a slight increase in her streangth."

He sat the really quiet for a few minutes then said "I see..."

Then he asked "So why haven't you allowed yourself to be claimed yet?"

I replied "Haven't found anyone worthy enough yet I guess. But as you have seen both Naraku and Heiten are trying hard to do so."

Bankotsu asked seriously "So let me get this straight, if any male demon bites you on the claiming spot then you would be mated?"

I shook my head and laughed and said "Not exactly, you see the mark won't stay unless the female willing allowed the male to do so, if she chooses in her heart to be with him then she accepts his mark and the mark remains, same way for the guys, in order for the mark to remain they must truely choose to be with one another.Also if he were to mark two females then the first one marked, the mark would fade away and dissapear and he would have to remark her and vice versa, but likely she would not allow herself to be remarked by a cheating mate, I sure as hell know I never would!"

Bankotsu asked "But if he didn't mark the second one and only bed her instead, would the first one still know?"

I said seriously "Most demons have increased senses especaily smell, so most likely she would smell the scent of another female on him anyways."

Bankotsu said "But a human woman wouldn't right?"

I noded and said "What exactly are you getting at?"

Bankotsu shrugged and said "I was just curious thats all."

I said "Hm." and shrugged, then I got up and took our clothes out of the dryer and folded them neatly.

Around 4 p.m. the door bell rang and I answered the door and gasped in shock when I saw who it was.

Hojo stood there holding half a dozen yellow roses and a baskett of fruit.

I asked evenly "What are you doing here Hojo?"

Hojo said "Well, you weren't in school today and you have NEVER missed school before, I got worried so I came to check on you."

Then he handed me the roses and said smiling "Here Cathy, these are for you! I thought they might cheer you up."

I smiled, accepted the roses and said softly "Th..Thank you Hojo."

Then I stepped aside and he stepped inside and I closed the door behind him and re-locked it.

We walked over to the couch and he set the baskett of fruit down on the coffee table and said "These are also for you, I figured if you were sick enough to stay home from school then you had to be pretty sick and the vitamen C would do you some good."

I smiled and said "Thamks Hojo, that was very thoughtful of you."

Bankotsu cleared his throat loudly.

Hojo said "Oh hi Bankotsu, I didn't see you there."

Bankotsu raised a brow looking at the flowers I was holding, while he was leaning against the door jamb, with his arms crossed in front of his chest, and looked at us.

I smiled and said excitedly "Hojo got worried because I wasn't at school today and decided to check up on me, and he brought these flowers to help cheer me up and the fruit for the health benifeits of the vitamen c."

Hojo smiled and noded and said "Yeah, I figured since Cathy has NEVER missed school before she had to be really sick! So I wanted to make sure she was ok."

Bankotsu said evenly "She stayed home on doctor's orders!"

I noded and sniffed the flowers and smiled and said happily "They are very pretty and smell so sweet Hojo, Thank you!"

He smiled and noded.

I walked into the kitchen and got a vase, filled it with water and placed the roses in it and then carried it to the living room and set it on the coffee table.

Bankotsu sighed heavily.

I said "Well I am surprised you came all the way here just to check on me Hojo."

He shrugged and said "Thats what friends are for right."

I noded, and Hojo and I sat on the couch.

Bankotsu rolled his eyes.

I got up, walked over to Bankotsu, grabbed his hand and lead him over to the couch and sat him on the couch and sat next to him, still holding his hand.

Then I asked "Ban, don't you think it was nice of Hojo to come check on me?"

Bankotsu replied dryly "Yeah, real nice!"

I sighed.

Hojo got up and said "Well, I gotta get going, hope you get better soon Cathy!"

I got up and hugged Hojo and he hugged me back and I said "Thanks again Hojo for checking on me and all, it really was sweet of you."

He noded and we broke the hug.

I walked Hojo to the door and locked it behind him, then turned around and went back to the living room.

Bankotsu was standing up with his arms crossed in front of his chest and stared at me.

I asked smiling "What's wrong babe?"

He demanded angrily "Did you really have to get so mushy and stuff over some stupid flowers and fruit!?"

I gasped in shock at the anger in his voice and said evenly "Sorry, I didn't know that having a friend check up on me and bring me flowers would make you so mad!"

He glared at me and said "Don't give me that!"

I said angrily "What the hell has gotten into you Ban!? Just because a friend, emphasis on the word friend, decided to check up on me and cheer me up, now you are biting my head off!?"

He said angrily "You are the one who was hanging all over him!"

I gasped and angrily said "EXSCUSE ME!? How the hell does giving a FRIEND a hug qualify as hanging!?"

He demanded angrily "And what about those damn flowers, Hm!?"

I said angrily "What about them!? It was the first time ANYONE ever gave me flowers so EXSCUXE ME for being a little bit flattered ok!"

Then I stormed into the kitchen and got ready to make dinner.

I pulled out the roast, put it in a pan, added water and put it in the oven to bake.

Then mixed up another pitcher of tea, and put it in the fridge and went up stairs to put away my clothes.

As I was hanging m clothes in the closet.

Bankotsu walked up behind me and wrapped his arms around me.

I sighed heavily and he turned me around, I looked down, and he gently lifted my chin so I was looking him in the eyes.

He said softly "I'm sorry baby, I guess I just didn't like seeing you get excited over the attention of another guy."

I said softly "Well you didnt have to Ban, it's not like he was my boyfriend or anything!"

Bankotsu sighed and said "True, but when we first met, you said you wanted him to be, and I just thought..."

I sighed and said "Ban, EVERYTHING has changed since then! I am with you now! I don't want to be with anyone else!"

He asked "Not even Hojo?"

I smiled and said "Not even Hojo! Just you Ban!"

Then he sighed and hugged me close.

I smiled and hugged him back.

H hugged me tighter and I said dead seriously "Ban honey YOU are the only man I want!"

He whispered "I thought I was gonna loose you! I thought you wanted to be with him..."

I pulled back, looked him directly in his eyes and said "Bankotsu YOU are the only man that has ever made me feel this way! YOU are the only man I want or need! ONLY YOU! Don't you ever doubt that again!"

He hugged me tightly again and said "I won't baby! I won't!"

I hugged him back and he captured my mouth in a fierce, passionate kiss that I eagerly returned, then he picked me up and carried me over to my bed.

Wensday: Nite


A few hours later..........



We were laying in bed cuddling when my cell phone rang.

I rolled out of bed and ran to my desk and answered it.

Cathy "Hello?"

Sesshomaru "Hey Cathy."

Cathy "Hey Sesshu, whats up?"

Sesshomaru "Just wanted to check in and see how you two are doing."

Cathy "We are doing ok, how bout you? How are the meetings going?"

Sesshomaru "Boring as ever, but yeah they are going. How are things with Bankotsu?"

Cathy "Ban is great Sesshu! We have really learned ALOT about each other so far this week."

Sesshomaru "Thats great, listen Rin wants me to say hey and now I gotta go ok bye."

Cathy "Hi back to Rin and ok bye."

I hung up my phone and said "Just Sesshu checking in again."

Bankotsu noded, then he got up, stalked over, growled playfully, picked me up and carried me back to bed.

I laughed and wrapped my arms around his neck, as he layed me back onto the bed I kissed him fiercely, and he kissed me back just as fiercely, then he rolled me underneath him, and I laughed and kissed him again.

An hour later again....


We finally cuddled together and fell asleep happily in each others arms once again.
