Inuyasha rubbed his thumb gently on top of Kagome's while staring directly at Kaede. Never even glancing at Kagome.
Kagome, on the other hand, kept stealing looks at Inuyasha. What to do about this new development? He had made the first move with the note, and now this was the next step. The note she had for Inuyasha seemed to be burning a hole in Kagome's pocket. She wanted to give it to him now, but knew she would have to wait. Holding his hand made her want to do everything faster. In her mind, she really wanted everything.
Patience was a virtue. That's what everyone said. So Kagome would be patient.
The next weeks flew by. The new aid, Miss. Rachel, arrived. Kagome slowly was able to increase her pull-up and push-up strength. She finally met her goal of three pull-ups as January wore on. Inuyasha continued to hold Kagome's hand during social skills and display his body during lunch. She still hadn't given Inuyasha the note. What was stopping her? She asked herself that over and over. She had found out many things about him. From his interest in Dance Dance Revolution songs, to him also being bipolar and bisexual, to him being the leader of a small gang.
They talked a lot in school, taking every chance they got to be together. Not having called him yet, for some reason unknown even to her, she had no idea what his true feeling were. But she suspected that he liked her a lot. She increased her trust level and was finally allowed to eat on the stage. With Inuyasha and the other level three and fours.
February bustled in with more cold weather and a light covering of snow.
Kagome, Marcus, John (the BDU boy), and Inuyasha were eating lunch on the stage. Of course Mr. Andy was with them, making sure no `funny business' was going on. Kagome was the only one with a lunch from home. They were laughing and joking.
“So anyways she takes a picture of me and, get this, looks at the picture and says, `wow you actually look good.'”
The whole group laughed at Kagome's story. About fifteen minutes into lunch Inuyasha stood up and announced, “I got to take a piss.”
Kagome watched him walk to the side exit of the stage, behind the wall, and suddenly got an idea. “I'm cold,” she said, “I'm going to run and get my hoodie.”
She hurried to the side exit and saw Inuyasha almost into the gym. “Inuyasha,” she whispered, “come here.”
Inuyasha smiled, noticing that they were alone, and said quietly, “How may I help you?”
Kagome swallowed the nervousness she felt. Feeling a surge of confidence she blurted out in a cute tone, “Gimme kiss, gimme kiss.”
Happy to oblige, Inuyasha grasped Kagome's face in his hand and with his other he pulled Kagome's body closer to his. She grabbed his arm and let herself be completely taken in by him. Their faces grew closer together until finally, to Kagome's delight, their lips pressed against each other. Kagome took Inuyasha's bottom lip in her mouth and played with it, as Inuyasha did the same with Kagome's top lip. Kagome traced Inuyasha's gracefully shaped lips with her tongue and let out a sigh.
Suddenly Inuyasha broke the connection and grinned. “I wasn't lying when I said I had to take a piss.”
He gave her one last peck, turned and walked across the gym. Kagome touched her lips gently and ran to her class room to grab her sweat shirt, like she said she was going to.
Miss. Peterson looked up from her work and smiled at Kagome. “How are you doing? Having fun up there on the stage?”
“Loads,” was all Kagome said, fearing that her tongue might slip, and not in the same way it had with Inuyasha.
The atmosphere was jovial when Kagome returned. They were still chatting and `being boys' as Kagome called it. She wasn't the only one who called it that, but she still used it as one of her phrases.
Inuyasha acted no different towards Kagome when she sat down next to him. Nothing. Not even a wink or a sly smile. Kagome was nervous. Had she done something wrong?
Without sufficient time to ask Inuyasha and not knowing what exactly to say Kagome kept her mouth shut as the clock ticked the lunch hour away.
Reading time was as routine. Inuyasha went to the side room and performed his usual act for Kagome.
Miss. Peterson left the room to do something in the office and Kagome saw her chance. She stood up out of her chair and walked to Miss. Rachel's desk. Pulling the note for Inuyasha out of her pocket she unfolded it and asked Miss. Rachel, “Um… excuse me, I made this key for Inuyasha so he could learn Japanese numbers is it okay if I give it to him?”
“Let me see it.” Miss. Rachel said.
Kagome handed the note to Miss. Rachel and watched her inspect it. Nervously Kagome cracked her knuckles. Finally Miss. Rachel handed the note back to Kagome and nodded.
“It's nice of you to make something like that for someone else. Are you learning Japanese?”
Kagome talked to Miss. Rachel about her attempts to learn Japanese while inside her head she was screaming with joy.
After Miss. Rachel returned to her work Kagome sauntered to the side room confidently. Unable to suppress a grin she slipped the note through the crack in the door. Inuyasha looked at the note and glanced up at Kagome confused.
“The first part is the numbers one through ten. After that are some drills. Make sure to do number one. It's very important.”
“M'kay.”
Kagome paced around in her room. She had been waiting since she had gotten home from school. Would he call her? She had gotten his note and never called him. What if he couldn't do the number drills. No. He was smart. He could do it. Would he realize it was a phone number? There were seven numbers, and it started with the first three numbers common in this town.
As soon as Kagome decided she couldn't stand it any longer the phone rang. She ran to the phone in the kitchen but saw that some one had already picked up the line. The caller ID was unfamiliar to her, but then again she didn't know Inuyasha's last name, so she wouldn't recognize the name. When she saw the number, though, she squealed. It was him.
“Kagome!” her mother called, “Phone!”
Kagome picked up the radio phone in front of her. Her heart was going a million beats a second. “Hello?”
“Hey there sailor,” Inuyasha said suggestively.

Bunnie: Thanks for the reviews! It really means a lot to me.
Kagome: You skipped like a month of my life.
Inuyasha: Yeah, didn't we do anything fun in that time?
Bunnie: No and I had to make some time pass before the first kiss.
Kagome: I guess, it does make sense.
Inuyasha: Okay, you freaks who enjoy reading this review and tell her to make Kagome and I do more.
Kagome: Pervert!
Bunnie: But yeah go ahead and review please.
