InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Silence ❯ Chapter 1 ( Chapter 1 )
Ok, I know the prologue was a little hard to follow, but I promise the story is WAY more interesting. Hope you like it. I've never read a story with Kagome PMS'ing and I thought it would be hilarious, so enjoy. ~angeltiger
Silence
Ch. 1
"Come on, Inuyasha!" Kagome cried, "I wanna go home!"
"No."
"And why not? I stayed untill you got that shard from that bear demon, and now you have it. So why can't I go home?"
She'd really wanted to go home a few days ago, but before she had a chance to ask, she sensed a shard of the Shikon Jewel and decided to get that first.
Now she wanted more than anything to leave, since she only had a few more days untill her 'time of the month' came along. She liked to be home then, so she wouldn't have to deal with too much stress, or running out of precious items.
"So? Then we'll go and find more."
"And we will, but not now. I'm going home, and you can't do anything about it!"
"Really? Watch me." Inuyasha growled, starting forward.
"Sit!"
*thud*
"Oomph-"
"Be a good dog and stay. I'm going home!"
She pivoted on her heel and walked towards the village, or...wait a minute.
"Hey, Inuyasaha?" She asked, turning around.
"What?" He ground out, carefully lifting himself off of the ground.
"Which way again?"
~~~~~~~~~~
Miroku sighed, rubbing the new bruise forming on his arm. Three woman ago it wasn't there, but now it was becoming a lovley shade of purple.
"There you are."
Sango, Kilala, and Shippo came walking through the path to greet him, the former glarring daggers at the obviouse mark.
"Try your hand at womanizing again?"
Miroku's face turned a slightly darker shade and he coughed, loudly, before smiling up at the demon exterminator, deciding a change in subject was much needed about now,
"Did you find what you were looking for?"
Sango sighed, allowing the topic to drop, for the moment anyways. She held up her sword and a smalll bag. "Yes, I got my sword fixed, and I also bought some treats for Kagome-"
"And me!" Shippo piped in, finishing the remains of something that Miroku thought to be fruity.
The monk stood, "Well then, let's go back. Who knows how many insults have been traded, and not to mention how many times dog-boy's been sat.
"Good idea." Sango agreed, as they started walking back towards camp.
She only had to hit him twice the whole way.
~~~~~~~~~~
Ahhh-man, my darn stomach huuuuuurts! Kagome thought to herself. Grimacing at the sharp pain. I need to go home and get some Midol or something.
"Can we please go faster, Inuyasha?"
"How?"
"You could carry me?" She sugged hopfully, making it more into a question. She clasped her hands together and gave him her puppy dog eyes. (bit of irony in there huh? ~at~)
The others smiled knowingly. They had only been back a few minutes and already the two misfits were fighting again.
For a moment, Inuyasha faltered, getting lost in those eyes, before shaking his head violently. "Keh, you'll live."
Kagome let out a sigh, "Then at least carry my bag!"
"Fine!" He snatched off her shoulder and slung it on his own like it weighed nothing.
Miroku stiffled a snicker and Shippo glared at Inuyasha from his perch on Kagome's other shoulder, earning a snort from the hanyou.
Kagome's stomach did another flop and she cried out.
"What's wrong?!" Inuyasha spun around, anger gone from his face, only to be replaced by worry.
"Ahh, it's nothing." She played it off, waving her hand and forcing a smile.
"Yeah right, what's the matter, Kagome?"
He sniffed, nothing. Well, there was the scent of blood, but it was old. Probably from their last fight with the bear. It had hit her in the side. Maybe he just hadn't noticed she was bleeding before, which caused him to worry, What if she's in pain?
"Kagome," He started when she didn't answer him.
Sango stepped in, "Ah, Kagome just tripped a bit. I bet she just stubbed her toe, right Kagome?" She winked, letting Kagome know she knew all.
"Yeah, see? Nothing."
Shippo looked like he was about to contradict them, since he was riding on her shoulder, he knew she hadn't tripped. Plus he could smell blood too and it began to worry him.
"Keh." Inuyasha crossed his arms and decided to let it go for now. He quickened his pace.
The little kit opened his mouth to say something to the hanyou, but Kagome whispered: "You say it, no chocolate." in a voice so low he barely caught it.
He clamed his mouth shut awfully quick.
~~~~~~~~~~~
A few hours passed, and Inuyasha had a secret. Sango figured it out first, but only because she was good with directions. The half demon wasn't taking them to the village, instead, he was leading them further towards the mountains.
It took Kagome a while to figure this out. You see, when a girl's on her period, she tends to concentrate on her own pain instead of little things like, oh say, the mountains keep getting closer instead of farther with the passing of every half-hour.
But when she did, well, never piss off a girl who just got a visit from Aunt Flo.
"WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU THINKING, STUPID!" She screamed.
She was so loud, Inuyasha-his back to her, had to cover his ears...literally.
"I said I wanted to go home! Not further away from it!" She continued, calming down a bit.
"I'm sick of you always going home. What's so special there anyways? You should be staying here and finding more jewel shards for me...eep!"
Even he was having a hard time keeping his 'tough guy' act going. He'd never seen her this mad, and he was honestly scared.
"And you think I give a shit what you're sick of?"
Shippo's hands flew to his mouth, Sango faltered, and Miroku's eyes bulged. It was definatly something different, hearing Kagome swear.
"Wha-?" Inuyasha spun around to face her, jaw hanging open uncerimoniously.
"WHAT?!" She glared at them all.
"You...just...I...never..." Miroku offered, but he couldn't find the words. He took a step back when she advanced on him, her face a tomato.
"Kagome-" Sango started.
"No, Sango!" Kagome whirled to Inuyasha again. "You people don't understand!" She took a deep breath, trying to calm down, "I needed to go home. You people are dammed lucky I always bring extra things in my back or else I'd really be ticked!"
Inuysaha and Miroku silently thanked the heavens she brought whatever it was that she had brought. They couldn't imagine seeeing her much madder than this, and, frankly, they didn't want to.
"I'll be back," She growled, impressivly for a human. She bent over and snatched her bag off of Inuyasha, making him flinch. "I can hear running water, so I'm going to take a bath."
Everyone nodded, thankful to be rid of her for a while.
"You people stay here! Oh-" She turned, "Inusyasha?" She asked sweetly.
He cringed at her voice, "Yeah...Kagome?"
"SIT!"
*thud*
She smiled wikidly when she heard the crash. Feeling better, she turned on her heel and stormed off.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Inuyasha, painfully picking himself off the ground, glared at the remaining three. "What the hell was wrong with her?"
"She really needed to go home, Inuyasha." Sango knew why she wanted to go, Kagome had given her on of her miricle pills when she was on her 'week-o-fun', so she could understand completely. What confused her was why she was still here. She usually went home a few days before, so why did she wait untill now to go?
"Keh, she'll get over it, I'll take her home after we get another shard." Inuyasha said haughtilly.
"My, aren't we getting cocky, Inuyasha?" Miroku asked, eyebrow raised. "If I do recall, you seemed to be cowering in terror only a few minutes ago."
"Yeah? And what about you? You were completely pale and I saw a few sweatdrops going on over there." He countered.
"Your stubborness will be the death of you, my friend." Miroku warned.
"Whatever." The half demon mutterd. Sitting down cross-legged and putting his arms in his sleeves, he waited. Not even bothering to help the others as they set up camp.
~~~~~~~~~~
"Ohhhhhhhh, I can't belive the nerve of him!" Kagome seethed.
She slumped aginst a tree, grumbling to herself as she sifte through her bag to get her bath supplies. She left her bag there and went to the stream, shivering at how cold it was. It was no hot spring, but hey, beggers can't be choosers.
It wasn't untill after she came back to the tree to change and dry off when she realized she'd mad a boo-boo in her panties. Just great. She thought, no way I'm putting these in my bag...
She decided to dump them in a bush. It's not like anyone would care, who knows how far away the next village was, so they wouldn't mind.
She gathered her pack and stood, ready to go back, when a sudden noise caught her attention. She turned to inspect,
"Miroku, if that's you I swear I'm gonna-"
She gasped before she could finish. What she saw made her wish it was Miroku, slinking around to catch a peek of her while she bathed.
But no, standing, rather, crouching in front of her was a demon. It's aura gave off that of of a wolf. It was in a human-like form, black-grey tail coming out of it's furry clothing.
His form was bent over a bush, the same bush she had carelessly tosses her soiled panties in only a few minutes before. How he got there so fast was beyond her.
She began to creep away, once again wishing it were Miroku, at least then she knew what would happen. She'd beat the tar out of him, then they would go back to camp.
Her movements caught his attention and he jerked his head up to meet her gaze with strong golden eyes. He had long black hair with greyish-silver streaks tied in a high ponytail.
He stood, showing off a nice build, and strong arms. But it was the eyes that she locked onto. They were so familar, who did they resemble? She couldn't think strainght, but she was scared at the intensity of them. The way they bored into her, there was something in there relative to...hunger.
"Uhhhh, I'm sorry. I guess I shouldn't have put those th-"
She stopped when he came closer, towering over her. He licked his lips as his golden/amber eyes locked on her lower area.
Oh my God! Kagome thought, her mind worked, but her legs wouldn't budge. I led him here, my smell, it must have...he...oh my God!
She finally convinced her legs to move, slowly, back towards the others. She tried to call out to them, to him, the guy she needed to remember...who was he? Whe she opened her mouth to speak, it only came out in a small sqeak. It seemed it was her voice's turn to give out.
He took another step towards her, making her wimper. Amber eyes greedily taking in her own.
Kagome continued to back away, but hit a tree in the process. She made a wild dash to get around it, desperate to put anything between her and this wolf, but he was in front of her before she moved, his face only inches away from hers.
She closed her eyes and held her breath praying that he would just go away. When she opened them:
He didn't.
She blinked a few times, tearing her eyes away from his gaze before closing them again, scrunching herself to the tree, trying to be as small as she could. Mold with the tree, Kagome. Be one with the tree, be the tree...She chanted over and over to herself as she continued to get smaller.
That's when he did it.
He stole her first kiss.
But it wasn't the passionate, soft, sweet-tasting kiss she'd dreamed about ever since she was a child. This was bone crushing, it hurt. And his breath and mouth smelt and tasted of decay that made her want to gag.
She opened her eyes and tried to pry him off of her just as he threw her to the ground. She could hear him snicker, rather, feel his lips curl into a sneer as he settled on top of her.
Tears sprang to her eyes as she faught, kicking and thrashing, trying to get away. But he held her down easily, finally breaking the 'kiss' to look down at her and laugh a deep-throated laugh at her feeble attempts to break free.
She tried to call out, but shock had it's icy grip on her throat and all she could muster was a strangle peep.
He ripped her clothes off of her, not even taking the time to slid them off properly, just raking through them with his claws.
She tried to salvage what bit of decency she could with her hands, but he held them to the sides.
Golden eyes, now with a tint of red roamed over her, and he licked his lips again. He slid off his own coverings and lowered himself to her, and she tried to fight one last time before finally going limp, crying and shaking while he had his way with her.
But still she couldn't scream.
No crickets, birds, little animals, nothing called in the background. It was as if every creature was quiet, frightend of what this demon was doing to her.
There was no sound, save for the occasional grunt from the wolf.
Silence.
