Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha. Wish I did, though.

"Oy, 'Yasha. What's up with you today?" Miroku asked, prodding his friend in the arm. The small classroom was slowly filling up as students filtered in for homeroom.

"Nothing." He gritted out, trying to ignore the mindless talking of the other students, about what was now popular, who was going out with who, and so on. The main topic, of course, was the up-and-coming Fall Ball. 'Kami, it's only the second day of school. Don't these people have any lives?'

The dull ringing bell broke up several of the conversations, causing the late-comers to run in before Myouga-sensai came in.

Kikyo sauntered through the aisles, slightly pushing those 'less-important' off to the side. She stopped in front of the occupied seat beside Inuyasha. "Move it, Sakuya." She gritted out, placing her hands on her hips.

Inuyasha glared at his girlfriend, and opened his mouth to speak. "Naw, I'll move. It's okay, 'Yasha." Miroku picked up his bag, and left to search for an open seat.

"Oy, Sakuya!" He saw a hand coming from the back of the classroom, signalling to an empty seat. Moving through the aisles, he slid into the empty seat glaring daggers at the raven-haired girl seated beside Inuyasha.

She skidded into the classroom at the sound of the bell. 'Damn alarm! I'm going to get him for setting it late!' She mentally noted to get Souta...if she didn't have detention.

Trying to squeeze before through the aisles still filled with people, she scanned the area. Only seeing one left, as the student moved to be closer to her friends. Right in front of Inuyasha. Hesitating, she looked for other means of seating. The soft clicking of heels alerted her of Kagura-sensai's impending arrival. Almost running to the seat, she slipped in just as the door opened.

"Ohayo minna-san," she greeted."I hope you're all looking forward to the weekend, ne?" he asked, scanning over the classroom. With a few excited nods, she left the students to continue their conversations.

Feeling a finger jabbing repeatedly into her back, Kagome turned around. "What?" She hissed, glaring at the 'innocent' face Inuyasha put on when she turned.

"You never answered my question yesterday," He whispered. He watched as she narrowed her eyes, and turned her head. She sat there, focused on the small notebook in front of her. Poking her again, she whipped around.

"What?" She hissed again.

"Answer the question, damnit!" He asked a little louder.

"Look, Takiya. I'm back because of what I told you at the shrine," She whispered, and turned her head back to the notebook.

The bell rang again before he had a chance to answer her. Picking up her stuff, she tried to get out of there before he had a chance to ask anything else.

"Oy, 'Roku," Inuyasha caught up with him halfway through the pool of students. "I've been thinking,"

Miroku snorted. "And how often does that happen? Congrats, man."

Shooting a glare at him, Inuyasha continued. "Maybe we should try to get Kagome to hang out with us again,"

"Yasha, listen," Miroku turned, stopping both himself and Inuyasha. "There hasn't been an 'us' since you started dating the queen bitch. With Sango, there was an us. With Kikyo there's a....you. Kagome's always hated Kikyo, so what in the seven hells do you think will make her change her mind now about her?" He asked.

"There's---other people she could hang out with?" Inuyasha supplied weakly.

"I don't think it's a good idea, but you could try if you really want." Miroku shrugged.

"We'll talk later, We have...3 seconds to get to class."

The general lunch-type conversations were still focused on the same thing as this morning. As Inuyasha listen half-heartedly to what colour dress Kikyo was going to wear because he was obviously going to ask her, he saw Miroku start to nod off. Kicking him under the table, Miroku jumped awake. Inuyasha shot him a glare that pretty much was the 'If-I-Have-To-Listen-So-Do-You' glare. Rolling his eyes, Miroku swirled his fork through the mush that they served for lunch.

"I'm uh---going to get another soda," Inuyasha searched for a good excuse, but noticed the unopened soda beside Miroku, and the evil glint in his eyes.

"You can have mine, Inuyasha," 'You're not leaving, especially if I have to stay.'

"I hate that soda," He stated, trying to search for yet a better reason. Pushing away from the table, he walked into the growing lunch line.

Kagome sighed, paying for her small lunch. All day she had managed to avoid Inuyasha, but of course, nothing good lasts forever. She spotted him slowly making his way towards the lunch line, and hurried through the cramped rows of tables. Squeezing through the small spaces between chairs, she heard random bits of the conversations.

"And then he said---"

"Really? Ohmigod,"

"And I was thinking about wearing purple---"

"You know that new movie?"

The last table that stood between her and the door was the one that Inuyasha and his 'friends' were sitting at. With the other aisle blocked, she opted for the small route between the row of chairs and the wall. Squeezing in between the two, she shuffled down the row. She forgot to watch where she was going though, and---

"I was think of wearing pale pin---Eek!" The open Vanilla Coke Kagome had been carrying poured down Kikyo's head, and dripped down her back. Pushing back her chair, Kikyo got up to star eye-to-eye with her.

Miroku watched amusedly as Kikyo got the soda poured on her. Not on purpose, of course. It would've been a lot funnier had it been though. At the sound of her scream, Inuyasha had cut back to see what was happening. Half of the schools student body watched as the coke-drenched Kikyo slapped Kagome.

"You little bitch," She ground out. "You did this on purpose," She, in tern, poured the contents of her lemonade over Kagome's head.

"Kikyo, leave her alone, it's not her fault. It was an accident, get over it." Miroku stated, pushing away from the table. If Inuyasha wasn't going to do anything, he would.

"Stay outta this, Sakuya." She whipped around, spraying Miroku, Kouga, and Kagura with soda.

"Come on, Kagome-chan. Let's get you cleaned up," He walked over to the two, taking Kagome by the arm.

"One more step, Sakuya. Take one more step with that bitch and you'll regret it," She gritted through clenched teeth.

Miroku stopped, and she smirked. He turned, taking a look to Inuyasha, then back to the soaked Kagome. "I'd regret it more if I didn't," A chorus of "Oohs," waved over the cafeteria. "Let's go, Kagome-chan." Leading her off by the arm, she grabbed her bag on the way out.

"Let's see about getting you outta those clothes, ne?" He asked, wiggling his eyebrows.

"HENTAI." She screamed, and another slap echoed through the cafeteria. Kagome stalked off huffily, with Sango's footsteps falling in.
