Dani: Okay, I wanted to try writing an Inuyasha story, and my friend encouraged me to. Don't read this if you don't like Sesshomaru and Kagome stories.

Slowly Healing

Chapter 1: Hurt

 

 

The white snowflakes fell into the black locks that belong to Kagome. She held the Tetsusaiga close to her chest, Inuyasha left the Tetsusaiga…again. He disappeared for a minute then came back with his demon blood taking over his human. He slaughtered four villages already, and nearly killed her. She tried giving him the Tetsusaiga, but he walked away from her, growling. She sat him many times but he never transformed back. She realized why, Naraku's new incarnation, Kariudo, made him forget about Tetsusaiga and made the spell on Inuyasha's necklace grow weaker, in other words, the more she says sit, the more useless the spell gets.

 

Kagome was completely scared. Inuyasha shattered the bones in Miroku's left arm and did severe damage to Shippo. Sango was inside the hut tending their wounds. Kagome was glad her purified arrow stopped Inuyasha what he was doing. The arrow gave them enough time to escape.

 

Kagome looked like she was in a trance to Kirara. Her sapphire orbs were blank and they just stared at the frozen lake. Kirara nudged Kagome's cloth covered leg and mewed. Kagome seemed to snap out of her trance, yet again and looked down at Kirara. She petted her small furry head then looked back at the lake from the rock she sat on. Kirara gave up. She tried countless times to get Kagome to stare at something else. So, she hopped on her shoulder and rubbed her head on Kagome's cold cheek.

 

Kagome took out her pieces of the jewel shards. She stared at them as a tear rolled down her cheek.

 

“Inuyasha…” She whispered and gripped the Tetsusaiga tighter.

 

“Kagome,” Kagome turned her head and saw Sango walk out of the hut. ”it's cold, you should come back inside.”

 

Sango stood next to Kagome who sobbed. “We'll get Inuyasha back.” Sango said.

 

`How in the world are we going to get Inuyasha back?' She thought. Sango placed her hand on Kagome's shoulder.

 

“We promise.” She said. ”Now, come inside, dinner is ready.”

 

Kagome looked at her friend with glassy orbs, and nodded. Kirara hopped off of her shoulder and Kagome wiped the tears out of her eyes. Kagome wrapped her arms around herself and followed Sango.

Rin was running as fast as her little legs could carry her. A silver-haired demon was going to kill her after Jaken left her alone. She wasn't sure if the demon was still chasing her, she never looked over her shoulder. She tripped over a log and fell face first in the snow. Rin quickly got to her feet and continued running. She soon saw a hut and scampered towards it.

 

She rapped on the wooden door and was thinking that the demon was still behind her ready to strike. The door opened and she gripped the first thing she saw and cried into it.

 

“What's wrong with the little girl?” Someone asked.

 

“A demon was chasing Rin” Rin sobbed into the cloth she held onto.

 

“Poor girl, you're nearly frozen to death.” Another voice said. “Sango, could you pass me that blanket?”

 

Rin felt the warm blanket draped around her shoulders.

 

“Uh, little girl, could you let go of my legs?” Rin looked up and saw a pretty lady with a concerned look on her face.

 

She let go and was picked up by the woman.

 

“What's your name?” She asked.

 

“R-Rin's name is Rin” She stuttered.

 

The woman closed the door and moved towards the fire.

 

“Let's get you warmed up,” She said and placed Rin next to the fire and sat on her knees.

 

“Nice lady, what's your name?” Rin asked.

 

“Kagome.” She said and pulled her hair in a ponytail.

 

“That's a pretty name.” Rin said wrapping the blanket tighter around her body.

 

“Rin, can you tell me what this demon looked like?” Kagome asked sitting next to her. Rin placed a finger on her lips.

 

“He had scary red eyes a purple stripe on both of his cheeks. He looked like Lord Sesshomaru a bit.” Rin said.

 

The women named Kagome looked at her knees.

 

“What is wrong?” Rin asked.

 

“Nothing, but that demon didn't hurt you did he?” Kagome asked.

 

“Nope!” Rin smiled.

 

“Good,” Kagome sighed. “Are you a friend of Sesshomaru?”

 

“Yup! Lord Sesshomaru is Rin's master and makes sure nothing happens to Rin” Rin piped.

 

“Sesshomaru caring for a human? I find that hard to believe.” The woman Sango said and Kagome nodded.

 

“Rin believes!” Rin said smiling.

 

Rin yawned and rubbed her eyes. ”Rin is tired.” She said.

 

“You can rest on my lap Rin” Kagome said.

 

“Thank you.” Rin's head fell on Kagome's lap.

 

Kagome caressed Rin's hair as everyone else slept. She looked out the small hole in the wall and sighed. She scooted towards the wall and fell asleep.

Sesshomaru followed Rin's fading scent through the forest. When he found Rin gone he crushed Jaken with his foot after finding him asleep under a tree. He cared for Rin as if she was his daughter. He stopped in his tracks after catching the scent of Inuyasha's demon blood. He growled softly and ran through the forest looking for Rin.

 

He stopped again but in front of a hut where Rin's scent was strong. The scent of Inuyasha's companions was also there. He walked inside and stared at Rin's sleeping form. His golden eyes crept up towards the miko's face. Her face seemed so peaceful in the moonlight that peeked through the holes in the hut.

 

His eyes then fell on Tetsusaiga which Kagome held in her hand. He heard her mumble something, it sounded like, “Inuyasha…please come back to me.”

 

He bent down and picked up Rin. As he did, his fingers brushed against Kagome's hand,' Her skin is like silk.' He thought then mentally scolded himself for thinking that, even though it was true. He turned to leave but took one last glance at Kagome. He heard the cat demon hiss. He looked at the cat whose red eyes were glaring at him. He walked out of the hut and ran through the forest with Rin held close time his chest.

Kagome woke first in the morning. She was surprised to find no Rin on her lap. Shippo woke minutes after her and sniffed the air.

 

“Sesshomaru was here” He whispered and scurried towards Kagome and curled into a ball.

 

“It's alright Shippo,” Her fingers brushed against the orange hair. “Sesshomaru came to get Rin, I think.”

 

Shippo uncurled himself and hugged Kagome's arm. She smiled and patted his head, he let go of her arm and scratched his pointed ear. She stood up and stretched.

 

“Where are you going Kagome?” He asked.

 

“I'm going out for some fresh air.” She said wrapping her kimono tighter around her cold body.

 

“Kagome, bring Kirara with you, just in case.” He said. Kirara hopped on her head and mewed.

 

“Alight,” Kagome slipped on her shoes and walked out into the snow.

 

She climbed up a tree that was a few miles away from the hut. She looked up at the gray sky and sighed. She heard some howls from a few wolves. Kagome soon heard Kirara growl, she turned her head and saw Kirara transform. Kirara grabbed her collar and jumped off the tree limb.

 

“Kirara, what-“ She was cut off by Inuyasha's ferocious growl.

 

Kirara jumped in the air and threw Kagome on her back as Inuyasha slashed the tree limb. He stood on another limb and cracked his claws.

 

“Give me the jewel fragments bitch.” Inuyasha growled loud enough for her to hear.

 

“No, sit boy!” She hollered.

 

The beads around his neck glowed and tried to pull him down, but it was no use. Inuyasha chuckled.

 

“It's no use wench.” Inuyasha said.

 

He cracked his claws again and jumped in the air. He slashed his claws at Kirara before she had a chance to dodge. Kirara roared in pain and fell to the ground. Kagome got off of Kirara and started to run. She could hear Inuyasha's growls. She cried out in pain as Inuyasha's claws gripped her back. She fell to the ground with him on top.

 

“Where is it bitch?” He growled huskily in her ear.

 

“Inuyasha please,” She whispered with tears running down her cheeks. She felt his claws sink deeper in her flesh.” I don't have them.”

 

“Liar.” He growled and pulled his claw down making five long gashes.

 

“LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!” She turned on her side and tried to push him off.

 

Her hands glowed pink and blue. Inuyasha was thrusted into a row of trees. She stared at him with pained eyes but was glad he was unconscious. She tried to stand up but fell to the ground. She heard Kirara's painful grunts. She turned her head to the side and saw Kirara limping towards her.

 

“Kirara…”Kagome started.

 

Kirara picked up Kagome with difficulty then started to walk through the forest. Soon Kagome fell unconscious on Kirara's back.
