Darkness makes itself known

“Princess Kagome”, the servant called from her bedroom chamber. “Good you're up, Now you must get ready for the festival and of course your crowning today!” the young servant replied.

 

Kagome stood there and smiled “Thank you Marle. But I wish to go riding before everything starts.”

 

“Yes your highness. Should I tell the stable boy to saddle a horse for you this morning?”

 

“No thanks-you know I prefer Kira and she doesn't allow such nonsense.”

 

“Yes your mare is quite temperamental. You two fit together nicely.”

 

Kagome angered “Just what does that suppose to mean? If you dare to insult me or my mare…..”

 

“Oh heavens no my Lady!!!” Marle quickly cut off the princess's anger and threats. “You are both very loving and kind but heaven forbid if one of you gets angry. I just don't want to be in the path when someone pushes you too far.” Marle stated.

 

Kagome laughed “Marle there is nothing to forgive, you are actually right. Kira and I are just like that and we are a perfect match.”

 

Marle nodded and smiled sweetly at the princess before her. She set the tray of food on the table and looked toward the loving princess. “My Lady your breakfast is served. Now hurry so you don't upset the King or Queen. Please excuse me; I must go awaken Prince Souta. You know how difficult he can be to get up.”

 

Kagome's smile got bigger as she remembered her little brother fighting and complaining about 5 more minutes. For an eleven year old boy, he could be quite a pain in the ass. Kagome nodded to her servant, sighed and decided to get dressed. She decided in comfortable clothes to start. God only knows know she would have to put on a dress later. She didn't really mind wearing a dress, she just preferred pants. Pants offered her more freedom to move, jump, dance, fight, ride, hell just about anything she felt like doing. Fight?! Did I say Fight? Well yes. Princess Kagome was an excellent fighter and defender.

 

 

Her outfit consisted of black skin tight pants, black boots, and a black and white halter top that showed her belly. The pants were cut to where they hugged her hips, and showed her belly button. Not to mention, her belly button was pierced as a sign of royal women. She thought about doing something with her hair, but thought better of it. She preferred to leave it down, she loved the feel of the wind blowing threw it. It made her feel more alive.

 

 

 

 

After she was ready, she sat down to her breakfast. Her mother walked in, smiled at her daughter and sat down next to her.

 

“Going riding this morning dear?”

 

“Yes momma. With all the planning for today I haven't got to spend much time with Kira. I told her I would make it up to her this morning.” Kagome replied.

 

“That's my girl, always doing for others. But this morning is you as well are it not?”

 

“Yes! I feel so alive and free while riding her. And when we run, I feel we can conquer the world.” Kagome said and giggled, feeling like a young school girl.

 

“Good, now if we can just find you a man that makes you feel that way, instead of you beating them to a pulp for whatever reason.” The queen said

 

 

“Momma!! It's not for reason, they have it coming. And I don't need a man, at least not right now. I have you, daddy, Souta, Kaede, and Kira. I don't need someone to try to come and tell me what to do. I will not be controlled.”

 

 

Her mother sighed in defeat and said, “I know, and you shouldn't be controlled. But maybe you should give love a chance. You might find the love and happiness me and your father have.”

 

 

“Momma—are you telling me something of my future?” Kagome asked jokingly.

 

 

Kagome's mother closed her eyed and concentrated on her daughter's life. The queen was given the gift of sight. She saw her daughter with a man with long silver hair, golden eyes, and all the love they held for each other.

 

 

The queen smiled and said “Yes dear I see you very happy and you will both love each other completely. But unfortunately there will be hard times 1st. Trust your heart child. All will be as it should be.”

 

 

After her mother left, princess Kagome ran down the stairs and out to the meadow. She quickly looked around and saw no one was around. With a smirk on her face, she put her fingers to her mouth and let out a piercing whistle. She couldn't help but giggle as she heard a neigh in reply. Her heart flipped as the large, midnight black mare came galloping over the hill, and straight towards her mistress. As the horse came to a stop in front of Kagome, she reared high on her hind legs. Her front legs pawing the air, in respect and honor of the young woman before her. As the mare's front feet hit the ground, Kagome gently and lovingly ran her hands over the horse's muzzle.
