Hey everyone! I know you're all probably really mad at me but I can explain! See I've tried 3 times but every time I try to save this thing the stupid computer deletes it! Anyway I'm hoping it'll work this time!! Anyway for those who reviewed since last time thanks a lot for your support! And for those who have read but not reviewed: Thanks for reading and I hope you like it! Oh! As for the person from mediaminer who left an.... not so positive review about how I wasn't going in depth enough for Kags feeling think of this: Inuyasha and everyone are all there for one thing and since she would only tell her story to Sango I'd say she doesn't want then to know anything's wrong wouldn't you? Also, she had an entire year of mental, physical and spiritual training so she can hide her pain very well. And for your comment on how -chan is a suffix for a female friend, Kagome calls Shippo Shippo-chan all the time in the manga and in the anime when you have the dvds on Japanese with English subtitles which I have done and since it has been proved on the anime that Shippo is in fact a boy I think it's safe to say that that is not the case ne? Sorry if I seem mean but I'm just pointing a few things out and trying to clear some things up and that's just my way of doing things. ANYway lets get this party started!!

Inu: Feh lets just get this over with.... Stupid bitch...

Inu: What the fuck does THAT mean?!

Me: -_-0 It's means I'm half dog-demon baka... You'd think you'd have noticed the GOLD COLORED CONSTANTLY TWITCHING DOG-EARS ON MY HEAD!!!!{said dog ears twitch a few time for emphasis}

Inu: {blink} {blink} oh....those.... I umm... I thought... um I thought....

Me:-_-0 you never noticed at all did you?

Inu: I DID SO!

Me: Liar. {rolls eyes} Anyway I dont own him cause if I did he would have driven me crazy by now so on with the chappie! ^^

Something Has To Be Done.

Chapter 5

The First Encounters.

"SANGO LOOK OUT!" Kagome yelled as the giant lizard demon they were fighting (shikon shard in head, tail and back) lashed it's tail out directly at Sango as she had her back turned, having had a

mis-catch of her Hiraikotsu and having been turned so that her back was facing the demon, and therefore didn't have a chance to move.

Knowing she didn't have much time Kagome leapt to her friend's aid and pushed her out of the way..... only to receive the demon's tail going straight through her stomach. "AAAAHHH!!!" Kagome yelled in pain and she fell to her knees clutching at the grapefruit sized hole in her stomach and trying to stop the bleeding.

Having heard Kagome's scream Inuyasha turned just in time to see her fall to her knees. "Kagome!" He yelled having seemingly found new energy he ran at the demon and with a giant swing of his sword and a yell of "KAZE NO KIZU!!!!" the demon was defeated. With a great cry of pain the demon was blown to bits.

"Kagome-chan!Are you okay?"Sango asked, helping her friend into a comfortable position on the ground.

"Damn... and here I thought I might make it through a week without getting a near-fatal injury...." Kagome choked out. "Oh well.... Wishful thinking I suppose..."

"Keh! What were you thinking bitch?! You could have been killed!"Inuyasha yelled storming over while sheathing Tetsusaiga.

"For your information I'll be fine in a day or two where as Sango would have been dead before she hit the ground thank you very much! I'm not gonna just sit back and watch my best friend die!!!" Kagome yelled back and everyone realized the seriousness of what had almost happened. Had Kagome not jumped in the way Sango would most likely have died.

"Th-thank you Kagome-chan." Sango whispered, knowing she would be heard, to the miko hanyou on the ground. Then, nearly bursting into tears she hugged her best friend tight, careful of her wound.

[Two days later]

"Kagome we have to use the cleanser! Your wound could get infected!" Sango said annoyed as she tried to coax Kagome out of the tree she had jumped into.

"FORGET IT!! The wound has already closed over! I don't need no cleanser!!" Kagome replied, lifting her blue tank-top a bit higher so they could see that though the skin was red and a small mark in the form of a circle remained the wound was practically gone. At everyone's shocked silence she laid back fully on the branch and ignored the bark digging into her back.

"I see you have been injured already Kagome.... I am highly disappointed." Almost everyone jumped except Inuyasha and Kagome who had smelt him coming.

"Hey Sesshy! S'up?" Kagome said calmly. Sango and Miroku, who had both been in fighting stances, relaxed slightly and decided not to act unless he attacked them first. Inuyasha on the other hand.....

"What the fuck do you want you asshole?"He demanded Tetsusaiga drawn and ready.

"I am merely here to make sure you haven't royally messed and have let young Kagome get hurt as you so often had before." Sesshomaru replied cooly.

"Nah! I did this to myself pretty much, Sango was gonna get hit so I took it for her. No big." Kagome called down from the tree. Kikyo was not among them for she had had to stay in the village to tend sick children and had not been in the battle at all.

"Well maybe if my brother took better watch over where the demon's body parts are headed you wouldn't have had to." Sesshomaru said. "And why have you not simply healed it? "

"I used up my energy reserve in a battle a little while before that. Though come to think of it they should be back to normal by now." With that Kagome lifted the black tang top slightly again and pressed a hand to where the wound had been. A flash of blue light later it was simply creamy smooth skin once again."There all done! ^^"

"Kaggy!!!"suddenly a young girl,probably 8, part of her black/brown hair up in a pony tail on the side of her head and her big innocent brown eyes shinning with joy, burst into the clearing.

"Rin!" Kagome leapt down from the tree branch and lifted the girls into her arms and swung her around a few times much to the girls delight. "Hey! I have an idea! Hey Shippo come with us! I wanna teach you two a new game!"

"Yay!!" The children cried and Shippo rode on Kagome's shoulder while Rin walked beside the girl her small hand held carefully in her larger clawed one.

When Kagome and the children had left and were out of earshot Sesshomaru turned to Inuyasha, "Brother, I wish to speak with you." Then, without even waiting for a response he turned and walked into the foliage in the oposite side of the camp as where Kagome went.

After a short moment Inuyasha decided that he would go, and should Sesshomaru try anything he would just pulverize him.

After a few minutes of walking the two came upon a clearing that would suit their purpose. Trees encircles it tightly leaving no way for anyone to sneak close even if they did manage to elude them in the scent category.

"Alright now what the hell do you want?"Inuyasha demanded, facing the demon.

"As you probably know Kagome has been in my care for the past while." Sesshomaru calmly stated.

"Yeah, what of it?"

"Well news travels fast between demons and soon many a demon knew of her and her being trained by both me and many professional mikos. They soon got it into their puny brains that should one of them mate with her the offspring of said union would be the most powerful on the planet. They will soon begin to hunt her. Therefore you must be specifically cautious now. They will soon come to try to take her." As he said all this Sesshomaru's eyes revealed the first emotion Inuyasha had ever seen in them. Worry. The great lord Sesshomaru was worried for the safety of one who Inuyasha could tell he regarded as a younger sister.... if not more.

That last thought irked Inuyasha to no end, no one had the right to think of Kagome as any more then a friend unless HE approved first and NOBODY was EVER gonna be good enough. Not Kouga, not Hobo and definitely NOT his son of a bitch (literally) half brother who had been trying to kill him all his life. 'But why should I get a choice? It's her life. Why should I care anyway?' Inuyasha thought to himself which was followed by a unanimous reply from both his demon and human sides: If you don't know by now then no way in hell are we gonna tell you.... Dumbass.

Sweatdropping all the way Inuyasha nodded his head, said "Alright." And both he and Sesshomaru headed back to the camp.

Upon their arrival they came upon Kagome sitting near the center with Shippo and Rin looking up eagerly as Kagome, Sango and Miroku talked.

"So lady Kagome you have written a few songs while you were away?"Miroku asked.

"Yeah, a few. When ever I feel angry or excited or whatever I try to get my feelings on paper right away so that I don't end up blowing something up. Quite a few are about some of the relationships I've bene in and how they ended but a few are cheerful and some are depressing but it all depends you know?" Kagome replied.

"Kagome can you sing a song for us? Please Please Please?!"Rin and Shippo asked, jumping up and using their best puppy-dog-eyes.

"ARGH! NOT THE PUPPY EYES!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Kagome yelled, toppling over on to her back and shielding her eyes.

"PLEASE?!" They yelled again running beside her and wrenching her hand saway from her eyes to give a full frontal attack.

With a sigh, Kagome got up. "Fine but just one." After getting herself out of the giant glomp the two then gave her she walked to her small black back pack and, to everyone's shock, put her entire upper body inside rummaging around the three-quarter foot high bag. With a yell of "AHA!" Kagome pulled out a strange instrument of some sort. "This is a guitar." She said at everyone shocked look. The guitar itself was black with red swirls and designs and the strings were red as well. "Oh and I cast a spell so that my bag could hold more. It's much more practical then that old yellow thing I carried around. Anyway, this is a song I wrote shortly after I left the past."

Then she started strumming and soon her voice erupted through the clearing. ((Ok this is Avril Lavigne's 'Freak Out. Now I know that most people don't like her or her music but I think this really describe Kagome's personality in this fic. She's independent, strong and she wont listen to anybody unless she wants to and she wont back down from anything.(lol sound familiar?)))

'Her voice... it's beautiful. 'Inuyasha thought not knowing that the same thought was on the minds of all present.

"Sing another one Kagome-chan please???????"Rin asked and Shippo quickly nodded his agreement.

"Sorry guys it's about time I start on supper. If your good I'll sing another one before bed, okay?" Kagome said, getting up and putting her guitar away. After a moment she brought out 7 packs of ramen and put some water in her portable kettle.

Supper was spent cheerfully with little argument (Inuyasha was trying to beat up Shippo so Kagome sat him) and soon, after the promised song from Kagome (she had simply sung a lullaby) Sesshomaru and Rin departed and Shippo sent to sleep in the brand new child sized sleeping bag Kagome had bought for him.

Soon after Shippo had fallen asleep Kagome brought out her guitar and after jumping into a tree at a safe distance away so as to not wake him she began strumming once again and sang the first song she wrote after he return to the future ((once again avril lavigne and again it goes with the fic so no complaining! The song is called 'Slipped away' if anyone wants to know.))

As she was singing, near the end of the song a single tear slid down her cheek.

Everyone in the clearing (who was awake) could feel pain and sadness rolling off her in waves and those who knew her story (namely Sango) could immediately tell that that song had been written for her lost family. Before any of this had happened it had only been Kagome who had never felt the pain of losing family.... but no longer. Her best friend had (in the futures eyes) grown up far too fast. She should never had had to experience such suffering. 'I'll make sure that she never has to go through that again!' Sango thought with resolve and after everyone was asleep she began her plan.

End chapter.

AN: Ok there's chappie 5! Ok I know this chapter may earn me a flame or two...... but oh well! It's the best I can do under the circumstances so tough! Also I know that you probably dont think that avril lavigne is a very good choice in music but I think that those songs definitely go with the story and I have a few more to put throughout the fic (mostly to annoy inuyasha ^^) so yeah. Anyway I have homework so I'd better go bye!
